A Mao reports to Hong Bin that he couldn’t find Xi Ruo. A Shuang distracts the guards at the Treasury to enable Xi Ruo to get in. But Xi Ruo couldn’t find the painting inside the Treasury and is trapped inside the vault. As Xi Ruo bangs on the door, she also drops her bracelet which is a gift from Hong Bin. Hong Bin decides to write the repentance letter as he wants to get out to find Xi Ruo. Hong Yu shows up then. Jing You approaches Song Zhi to apologize on Hong Bin’s behalf to secure his release. Hong Yu also meets Song Zhi. He apologizes on Hong Bin’s behalf and gives Song Zhi a painting with petaled lotus on it. Song Zhi accepts the apology. Hong Bin is released. Song Zhi’s reaction now confirms that he is behind the petaled lotus assassins. Hong Bin rescues Xi Ruo from the Treasury. Guards have reported seeing someone suspicious there. Xi Ruo insists on finding her bracelet before they go which touches Hong Bin. Uncle Li wants Xi Ruo killed once they have obtained the painting in case she tells Hong Bin. Hong Bin assures Xi Ruo that he trusts her and will wait for her to confide in him on why she was at the Treasury. He takes the blame for breaking into the Treasury to protect Xi Ruo. Duke Lean orders him to be flogged as punishment. A Shuang sends a note to Xi Ruo to threaten her again. Hong Bin is at Hong Yu’s residence to recuperate from the flogging. They talk about Ke’er. Hong Bin is sorry for what happened as he had left to give her and Hong Yu a chance. But she died of depression instead. Hong Yu wants to leave the past behind.
