Beautiful

This episode really touched me. I’m watching it at the right moment. If I’d watched this drama a few years earlier, it would not have touched me this much, as I’ve witnessed a similar situation lately.

My mom’s best friend recently got back together with her high school sweetheart in her late 60s after splitting up due to a misunderstanding in their late teens. They were married though, but they had been single for years before they met again. Now they are living together, and holding hands and going everywhere together. I bet this must be a great news for everyone who knows both of them. I heard it was greatly celebrated during a class reunion lately. 🥹

Food is always associated with powerful childhood memories. Or is it the other way around?

This episode was very, very moving. I still can't believe how sad I was watching this. Butter rice might be a simple dish (anyone who has rice and butter should be able to make this) but the sentimental attachment is to the memory of the dish, not the dish itself.

Favorite ep thus far. The atmosphere was soothing & calm, and the story of how a food critic could enjoy something as simple as butter-rice really reinforced that effortlessly.
