Amazing
What a Series. Loved it from start to finish. I will watch any series that Liu Xueyi stars in. He is so talented and he draws you in as soon as he speaks. Being paired with the FL Wu Jinyan was a match made in heaven.Their love story was beautiful and the acting showed it.
The script was well written and I didn't mind the tragic ending because that's life. It's not always happy. You have to take the good with the bad. The whole cast were brilliant.. the costumes were amazing and all the hard work from all involved bringing this series to our screens was well worth it. Would I watch it again.. Yes.
This is why I watch historical Chinese.. Korean dramas..
They are beautifully scripted.. the music adds a softness and the ML with their flowing locks add a sexiness to the mix.. Fab... ❤️

enemy to ally to lover - who doesnt love this plot
this drama is great. the plot is good. i love how the FL and ML turns from enemy to ally to lover throughout the drama.the ML can be awkward sometimes during their 'ally' phase while the FL was bold. that what makes the scene entertaining. (i freaking love the part when the FL hallucinate after taking the antidote hahaha especially the flower part so funny)
i admit, i watch this drama because of WJY. she has 2 great drama in 2024, and i watch both of them because of her. if i have to compare those 2 dramas (this drama and the double), i love LMKM more. she did great in both, but the plot of LMKM is more to my liking.
go watch it now. recommended.

=> Beautiful, tough, sad, ... and beautifully interpreted 。゚(*´□`)゚。
PLOT: To avenge the death of her family (and the 10,000 inhabitants of her town), the FL has been trained for 10 years (killing + martial arts) in the Shadow Army. She get part of the 100 beauties sent by the neighboring country, Xiyan, to kill the 3rd Prince (the ML). She lives with him, they share adventures, fight against the plots of the Crown Prince, etc. The Prince of Xiyan (whom she helped when he fled, the ML2) love her, and takes advantage of the circumstances (coup,FL's poisoning) to make her his Crown Princess.+++ A magic CL (Liu Xue Yi & Wu Jin Yan) and lots of excellent actors (Bi Wen Jun, Baron Chen, ...)
+++ Effective production, with sets, costumes, fight scenes, lights, OST, ... at the TOP.
+++ Quite dark story, very catchy during the first 20 episodes BUT### Last 10 boring episodes, with inconsistencies and unjustifiable offbeat behavior
### Part about Xiyan unrealistic, incongruous. I know that there have been mad kings in history, but this is delirium.
The last 2 episodes are moving, magnificent (and sad) and demonstrate the immense talent of Liu Xue Yi (I'm waiting for his next series :). It was magnificent, and I'm glad I watched it, but I'll not rewatch it, it was to sad !
************************************************************

I loveeeee
The Male Lead is just an embodiment of acting! The FL is also an amazing actor! I love the movie so much and I can’t get over it! It started very well and though I didn’t expect the end to turn out the way it did, I still enjoyed it and consoled myself that it is just a movie and the actors are doing well well afterwards. The chemistry between ML and FL? Perfect! They truly gave it their all and I really love it for them. They deserve all the love and support they could get in this movie and I hope it takes them places and heights they never imagined they would reach in their careers. Well done guys🥰🥰🥰

Never Take Life for Granted!
I had to watch this Chinese drama Kill Me Love Me three times in a row—something I’ve never done before. That’s how much I loved it! I didn’t want to miss a single moment of this incredible show. While I usually enjoy the fantasy elements in dramas (which are some of my favorite aspects), this time, the compelling story and stellar performances kept me completely hooked.Lei Xue Yi, whom I admired in earlier works like Love and Redemption and Ancient Love Poetry, truly shone in this drama. His portrayal was so captivating that it felt like I was living and breathing the story alongside him. Watching Kill Me Love Me has inspired me to go back and explore more of his previous works—how did I miss them before? He’s such an excellent actor, and his performance here was no exception.
Actress Wu Jin Yan was equally outstanding in her lead role. I admired the strength and fierceness she brought to her character, proving once again that women can take on powerful roles and do so with grace and authenticity. Her dedication and ability to make her performance so believable were truly inspiring. Having seen a few of her previous works, I’m now eager to watch more. She continues to impress me with her talent and screen presence.
The production was equally commendable. The set design was stunning, the martial arts choreography was breathtaking, and the costumes and animation were flawless. One detail that stood out was how the actors altered their voices to sound sinister. By lowering their octaves, they added an eerie and evil dimension to their characters that was incredibly effective.
Kudos to the writers for crafting such a compelling story and to the casting team for assembling such a talented ensemble. The supporting cast also deserves praise for bringing depth and realism to the drama's world.
Kill Me Love Me left me thoroughly satisfied. It’s a masterpiece that showcases the brilliance of everyone involved. If you haven’t watched it yet, you’re in for a treat!

Excellent acting! Love the chemistry of the two leads! The storyline about two leads seeking revenge to find the truth and gradually developed feeling for each other. The ending was definitely sad but also on the positive note.
Visual effects was brilliant!
Totally tell a great love story between the two leads! I love the series! Just wish the ending could soothe the heart break!

Perfect ! exciting all the time
One of the best dramas I've ever seen!!! Just watch it! There wasn't a single dull episode. Every episode is exciting, it's very painful and tragic. If you can't stand watching dramas like this, don't even watch it to then criticize such a good drama for no reason. And to think it took me a year to watch this gem because of the negative comments. What a regret for not having seen it sooner!! I know there are people who will compare it to the novel, I don't even know the novel so I can't compare or have anything to say. But as someone who hates boring, monotonous, or too perfect stories and characters, I loved this drama! 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷10/10

Broke me in a good way
I absolutely loved this drama contrary to many others who seem to have been quite disappointed.Sure if you expect a steaming hot romance show, as the trailer and the first episode indicate, you won‘t be satisfied. But after all it is a C-Drama… if you expect to watch something similar to the Borgias, you for sure will be disappointed.
The second reason why many did not like the show was that the ending was changed compared to the original novel. Since I am a sucker for sad endings, I truthfully enjoyed every heartwrenching minute of it! But yeah if you are hoping for a happy end you will get disappointed again.
I loved the chemistry not just between the leads but also between the other actors. Liu Xueyi is for me on an other level of acting and so is Wu Jinyan! I loved Liu Xueyi already in Blood of Youth and fell hard for his portrayal of Murong Jinghe. The scene of them lying on the bed both crying will hunt me to my death it was so beautiful, sad and full of feelings!
To sum up my rant: I love it! I loved the pacing, I was okay with Murong Jinghe‘s 180 degree character change (because it made sense) and I also found it understandable why the General fell for the Crown Prince (and don‘t get me started on the execution scene… beautiful!). It is a beautiful drama for people who love a good tragic story, who want to cry and feel as if their heart has been crushed and put together again.

Great historical drama
Just finished watching this drama. In my point of view, this is one of the best dramas in which Liu Xue Yi is the main lead. The acting of both Liu Xue Yi and FL are outstanding! The visual, costumes and cinematography are perfect. The story line is great until episode 23. This drama would be perfect if it ended there. The later episodes are not my cup of tea but in overall I did enjoy watching this drama and will suggest to those who like watching a quality historical drama. Was this review helpful to you?

Watch it all the way through before judging this one! (Don't skip or you may miss key plotpoints!)
This is my first cdrama and definitely still the best costume period cdrama in my opinion. The two main leads are gorgeous, and their natural acting and the lush visuals and production quality of the series is better than any other costume cdrama I've seen before and is what got me interested in watching cdramas in the first place. This is not a conventional romance. It's about political intrigue first. There is a huge revenge arc for 2/3rd of the series but for the remaining half of the series, it is about fate and bad choices and star-crossed lovers who never seem to catch a break. The ending is a sad one but so meaningful for the protagonist and changes him for the better.
Liu Xueyi as Murong Jinghe steals every scene he shows up in and is in his best role yet as a sinister, unhinged, disillusioned prince. He looks amazing in period costume long hair and makeup and the camera seems to eat him up. He oozes a non-chalant sex appeal and the commanding presence of someone who is supremely confident in his abilities and his power over others.
Wu Jinyan matches him beat for beat as the assassin trained beauty, Meilin, who stands up to him and then beside him as his ally and ultimately as his partner. Her earnestness and willingness to die for her cause is both endearing and captivating and it's easy to see why Jinghe falls for her quickly. (She essentially plays the same personality as she does in The Double.)
The surprising thing about this series is there are hardly any plotholes but it took several rewatches for me to catch all the details. Jinghe is the narrator and if you listen to what he says, you can see what he is thinking, where the storyline is headed and a lot of perceived plotholes are actually explained. That's why I caveat that this is not a series you want to fast forward or else you'll quickly lose track of the plot! For example, how they go from trying to escape the crown prince to frolicking in laowozi village as a couple is ALL explained.
The only major plothole I could find is that the series never explains how Jinghe was able to disguise himself as the Momai Shadow Master without anyone ever finding out. Having the full back story to the Momai warriors and what happens to them when they get disbanded would have been nice. Also, it was just plain dumb to poison her without having a real antidote at the ready, even if he got what he deserved in the end for doing it.
Overall rating: 9.5/10.
