Don't miss out on You Make Me Dance

It's been a few days since I watched "You Make Me Dance" and I still can't get over how much I loved it.
Between "Color Rush" and this one, I'm so glad to have found stories like these with really different concepts. I actually think "You Make Me Dance" was more well-rounded than "Color Rush". However, one thing I think they did have time to explain better is whatever is going on with his mom.
I loved the chemistry between Hong Seok and Shi On. Admittedly, the added drama before the ending is flawed if you think about it too much but I found it enjoyable nonetheless.
The soundtrack is really cute too and fits so well.
I can tell I'm going to find myself rewatching this one.

Overcomes the formula plot with great cast and beautiful dancing

The heart of “You Make Me Dance” is a beautiful love story about an debt collector who falls in love with a young dancer that owes his agency money. The fatal flaw of the plot is presenting the debt collector as someone who’s just out to manipulate the dancer into repaying his debt. The better subplot has to do with a rival dancer who is out to undermine our hero’s attempts to win the lead role in an upcoming production. It would have been better to forget all the cartoonish business about the collection agency and use the rivalry for the dramatic tension. The whole script feels like a first draft that was rushed into production without some much needed rewrites and polishing. But the show is saved by a great cast and some beautiful dancing scenes. The production values of Korean BL dramas are always top notch but the romantic moments are pretty tame by Thai and Filipino standards. It’s definitely worth watching with a few fast forwards through the unnecessary debt collection agency scenes.

A Dynamic That Just Absolutely Worked

I've never posted a review here before but I really just wanted to share these feelings.

South Korea has really been hitting it out of the water lately with their venturing into BL waters. They've had unique plots and dynamics and despite each one is amazing and special in its own way, something about this one just hits, in several ways:

The story and couple are so unique and yet it works so well - this romance between a debtor and his creditor. With these underlying messages that they both bring meaning to the other's life - that they make each other dance, and embraces the red thread notion of soulmates destined for each other.

That trope is one of my favorites in dramas - so I am a little bias towards this one (and likewise Color Rush before it).

I also find the physical execution of the romance unique for a South Korean BL because it was comparatively more "high heat" than we've seen before. Not just a single kiss, but several! Maybe that's in part also due to the chemistry between the actors being also amazing, which also led to the success of their interesting pairing dynamic.

Overall, just an amazing drama - can't wait to see how it plays out in movie format (should it follow the trend of the previous one and receive one anyway). It also makes me want even more of them to do a longer runtime BL drama - but maybe that's just too powerful a request as these get more and more outstanding.

For any genre of Korean dramas, I don't need to use my logic, if I insisted to forced my mind about the story that showed then I won't be able to enjoy this series. Thorough the series I was confusing about the relationship between two main characters of this series, is it really possible that this could happen in South Korea? because in Indonesia this kind of is really impossible to be accepted by common sense.

Fortunately, the performances of those two actors were more than mediocre to convinced me that this series was believable.

However, I still feel a lil bit unsatisfied about some stories that should be presented are thrown away and seem like they want to be finished as quickly as possible.

An interesting and unique Korean mini BL

Sometimes it's the good ones that aren't long enough. It's already been 2 eps and we've got 6 more to go...

I've loved all the Korean BL mini dramas, and this one may be added to the list, too. The story is unique, a relationship between a debtor and creditor; one is a dancer while the other is a general manager. I can sense the chemistry between the two main leads in just 2 small eps. They haven't done much yet they hide this intense tension that's gentle at the same time? Does it even make sense? On the other hand, I found the "falling" scenes kind of awkward... maybe it's just me? It's a bit exaggerated and dramatic lol

Also, first time I've seen anyone wipe out a tear and TASTE it wtf ahahahahaha I guess there's a first time for every thing.

Looking forward to the next few eps~

A bit disappointing, but will keep watching

Since I just watched and rewatched "Where your eyes linger" and "To the stars" I had high hopes for this mini-series...but...so far, and I sincerely hope it will improve in the next episodes I found this one to be a bit too slow. While we got an idea about the dancer and his dreams, the debt collector is still a mystery. Their chemistry is not clear or obvious. Their budding "friendship" does not show any outside interests and interactions outside the circumstances they met (innocent dancer and fed-up debt collector on his last mission). The storyline is quite unique, but it really needs to pick up the pace. I'll probably watch the next 4 episodes together, not curious enough on a weekly basis. Hopefully, it will change my mind in a positive way.

A gem!

I honestly was not expecting to be mesmerised with this series the way that I was. It was really under the radar to thw other three BL's that I am watching- 2 Taiwanese and 1 Thailand. Yet it was still able to somehow manage to hold a place in my heart!

Story-9.5/10
The relationship with Shi On and Hong Seok started off as a creditor and debtor but during the eight episode storyline turns into a budding romance. And I was glad that I was there for it! They had some issues along the way. But they were able to get thrpugh them in order to get the happiness that they deserved.

Acting/Cast-10/10
Hands down- loved the chemistry between the ML's. Also, the supporting cast made me hate them so much from Hong Seok's boss (unil the final episode) and Lex (I really hated him! If I could have go through the screen and punch him- I would!)

Music-9.5/10
Beautiful songs! Totally love them! They were able to set the mood of the series.

Rewatch Valu- 10/10
Hands down I would rewatch this series again! It was so simple and beautiful.

Overall-10/10
In the end, I thoufht that it was a simple, beautiful story thay was told. I would most definitely recommend this story!

Made my heart dance

What an utter joy this one was to watch.
Breathtaking visuals and lovely music underscore and enhance this beautiful, incredibly well-acted story. The writing is excellent, from the realistic and oftentimes genuinely hilarious dialogue, to the cleverly-utilised symbolism. The "red thread of fate" theme is woven into the story seamlessly and effectively and even made me tear up over a simple pinkie promise.
I also didn't think I'd ever feel particularly emotional about hard-boiled eggs, but here we are.
This is a deeply charming story about two people who utterly and completely fail to be normal about anything ever (in the best way possible, I promise) and still manage to find and hold onto each other in spite of every obstacle in their path.

If you're looking for a quick and easy watch with solid writing and gorgeous visuals, about two people and a love that all feel deeply real, then I cannot recommend this show more highly.

Short and sweet

It always amazes me how a pretty good story, nicely acted, can make sense and be fitted into only 8 ,14-min episodes.
I loved the characters of Shi-on and Hong-seok, nicely portrayed as: kind of wide-eyed and bubbly with a charming child-like innocence by Chu Young-woo for the former; and more sedate and deep by the very attractive Won Hyung-hoon for the latter.
Their interactions and chemistry were good, but the couple of more intense kiss scenes did not feel like they were entirely comfortable, so came off a little stiff.
A very nice and entertaining watch that also managed to grab at and pull my heart strings as well with tge more emotional side of the story. Definitely worth watching.
Maybe one day S.Korea will brave its 'only conservative when it's not K-pop' section of the viewing public and give us a full length BL drama. They're more than up to it.

I feel that is a great drama for the LGBTQ community in South Korea. I am heterosexual but I do believe that love is love and one should be able to love who they want to love. I'm an activist/organizer in the United States and am against discrimination and racism in all human life, whether it be gender, race, and ethnicity. I will put my boots on the ground in protecting Human Rights.

The two main leads were awesome and I must say very handsome. I applaud the two main leads for their bravery because I feel that the storyline was rushed and I don't know if it was because it was a short story or because of the homophobia in South Korea. I stand in solidarity with those who want to make a change in South Korea! Legislation needs to change for same-sex marriages and those who want to join the South Korean military. No one who joins should be bullied for their beliefs.

I don’t like it

I have to say I was a bit disappointed with this series. The lead actor performed well, but after the series ended, he clearly showed that he doesn’t fully embrace his role in a BL. This gives the impression that he was embarrassed or uncomfortable, which can affect how the audience perceives the show.

Besides that, I didn’t really enjoy the series as a whole. The plot is quite slow and lacks truly captivating moments. Some scenes are predictable, and the character development could have been deeper. The storyline could have benefited from being more dynamic and exploring relationships more thoroughly.

However, I have to admit that You Make Me Dance has its good points: the soundtrack is pleasant, and the sets are well done, giving the show a visually appealing look. Some supporting characters also add a bit of freshness.

In summary, even though the lead actor performed well, his attitude after the series left me somewhat disappointed. As for the series itself, it didn’t really convince me, but it does have some qualities. I hope future projects will better handle these aspects.

Korean BL's get a little spicy!

This will be super quick! As most of what I want to say has already been said. There is great chemistry between the two, the story is easy to follow and the acting is outstanding. As usual it was fast paced, so there are ambiguous things said and you just have to figure it out/make an assumption. But I really did love this one! Unique story, with some romance scenes that actually got me yelling. I really hope they move forward with more full fledged BL's in the future. I enjoyed the ending and I feel everything was wrapped up nicely. Plenty of sweet kisses overall! It felt like a full BL by the end and nothing left to be desired.
