This was really great. My only complaint is that it was so short, and that I wanted a bit more closure at the end.The pacing across the overall series was perfect. I think the progression of the two characters falling for each other was great. In typical KBL fashion though, the actual content feels like it’s playing in slow motion. It’s perfect at 1.25x speed. The acting, from both leads, but particularly Shi On, was pretty good as well. It’s short, and the love story is simple without tons of conflicts, but it was well executed. The dancing was good enough to be passable for the story they wanted to tell. They were clever with the camera angles and cuts, and what was shown wasn’t mind-blowingly impressive contemporary dance, but it wasn’t so bad that it detracted from the story or anything. And props to this show for no dead fish lip presses! Nothing super steamy, but multiple real, proper kisses all the same.
My primary complaint is that I didn’t feel all the loose ends were tied up in the end. Hong Seok was being forced to go to Vietnam. Did his boss just completely let go of that after hearing Shi On’s confession? She was cold and uncaring the whole series so I don’t know why she changed her mind. Is she going to let him quit like he originally wanted to, and if so, what’s he going to do now? And what was her deal anyways? She was inappropriately caressing Hong Seok’s face sometimes, and that was never explained. What happened to Shi On’s mom? Is the end of that story line just that she abandoned him and we’ll never know anything more? And what about Jung Hoon? Is he not going to have any reaction to losing the audition to Shi On? And the show ends right when Hong Seok comes back to Shi On. They hug and kiss and live happily ever after I guess. I needed like 5 or 10 more minutes to see them actually happy together and see some semblance of what their happily ever after would actually look like.
No consent issues, but some minor boundary issues. Their first meeting, Hong Seok ties up and carries Shi On away over his shoulder — he’s a debt collector and Shi On was running. Following that, Hong Seok signs as the guarantor for Shi On’s debt, which Shi On plans to pay off by getting the lead role in his audition. Hong Seok starts entering Shi On’s house uninvited, essentially moving in, trailing him around, and micromanaging him, including force-feeding him and preventing him from working instead of practicing. Shi On says he’s uncomfortable with this, but it’s not really acknowledged. Hong Seok also demands that Shi On answer the phone whenever he calls. Hong Seok is very grabby — there are multiple scenes where he grabs Shi On by the arm to prevent him from leaving.
But overall, both consent and respect of boundaries were relatively good compared to other BLs. When Hong Seok starts staying over, he never presumes or insists that he sleep in the same bed as Shi On, and instead sleeps in a sleeping bag on the floor, even though the heat isn’t working. When Shi On tries to hold Hong Seok, and also when he tries to lean on his shoulder, Hong Seok immediately rejects him and Shi On immediately backs off. When Shi On first kisses Hong Seok, he gives him ample time to stop the kiss before making contact. When Hong Seok stops them and says it can’t happen again, Shi On listens. When Shi On says he wants to be alone that night, Hong Seok listens. I also appreciated that despite the creditor / debtor dynamic, there were no power dynamics between Shi On and Hong Seok. Shi On was confident and assertive, not afraid to voice his opinions, stand up for himself, or say no, and he was often the one making the first move.

It's a cute short BL Series, though I wish it could have been longer...
I'm glad that SK is producing more BL series. The biggest problem though is that it's too short. Most of the short BL series they've produced had so much potential to be a longer series like Color Rush, Where your eyes linger, To my star, Mr. Heart, Long time No See, etc. What I can say about the Cons for this series is that the development or the progress of their relationship is too fast considering that it's only an 8 episode drama which has about 12-15 minutes running time per episode which totally saddens me. Like what I've mentioned in my headline, if this was a longer series, the series could've made more impression or impact with the audience /viewers because the plot and characters could've been developed well.
Nonetheless, the acting and production is actually good. Plus, the OST for this short series are pretty sweet. Especially, the opening soundtrack.
Moreover, it's great that the actors had a good chemistry going on. Their short and cute moments in the series were sweet and I'm glad they weren't awkward with each other.
As for the supporting actors with their side characters, there's nothing much to say about them actually because they had little screen time. Nevertheless, props to them for their support in the series.
In conclusion, the thing that really bothered me with the series is the PACING of the story. This really had Potential and personally, it felt like it was wasted. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a light or mellow short BL series, give this one a try... ;)
P.S. : I'm actually hoping or looking forward to SK for producing more series like this but with longer running time so that the story will progress better because a lot was definitely going on in most short BL dramas especially this one (Color rush, Mr. Heart, To my star, Long time no see, Wish you in my melody, Where your eyes linger etc. ) and I'm sad that the director, producer and writer have to try their best to mesh everything in the story so that it could fit in a series which has only 10 minutes running time.

Romantic
Loved it so much. The bl drama for Korea that have been released recently are AMAZING as there storyline tells so much in such a small amount of time/episodes. They can show and tell us how it started as unknown then friendship to romance while learning the true meaning of loving each other thru good and bad and becoming family and filling the void. The chemistry they had may you feel a part of the they complemented each other role. I wished it didn't have to end. Now can't wait for movie for other missing pieces. ❤️Was this review helpful to you?
My favorite BL Kdrama along with To My Star - both are cute, sweet, not toxic, and not cringey!
This and To My Star are great examples of BL dramas with limited episodes/time done right. Sure they fell in love kind of fast but it wasn't necessarily love at first sight. For example 3 years had passed since their first encounter, and Hoseok falls in love with Shion after watching him dance. I love that because I was mesmerized by Shion's actor's dancing as well. It could've been rather cringe but you can tell that he has a passion for dancing and that the actor also has some experience with modern dance.I love the music combined with the cinematography in this one scene where Shion is auditioning. The lighting is rather dark but there is a spotlight on him. Then Hoseok appears from the darkness, even though in reality he's not actually there but Shion is dancing for him. Hence the title. That part was done especially well and I keep rewatching it.
Their acting felt super natural to me and I like the way each actor portrays their emotions. It's not overly done to me. Some scenes people might say is cringey weren't at all to me because of how the actors deliver their lines. I squealed at moments from the cuteness. The kissing is as good as To My Star's - an actual, real sensual kiss unlike those of some other BL dramas I've seen...I also like how Shion the more "cute" character is the more aggressive one when it comes to initiating skinship and kisses, while Hoseok looks scary/intimidating but is adorably shy.
The only downside would be the ending, since the conflict with the rival and Hoseok's loan shark business was resolved kind of quickly. But overall I really enjoy this series and wish there would be a season 2! But if not I will be rewatching this series, and I've already been replaying the ending song "Today" over and over.

EEEKKKK
So for starters, I binged this cause I had no idea it existed until it was over. Of course, with how short the episodes are it didn't take long and I hate it! I need a S2 and a LOT longer eps lol YMMD is NOT all cute and fluffy. It'll put your in your feels with real life challenges from every direction. It's over all beautifully done and I'd definitely recommend to a newbie BL fan or a K-Drama fan in general. This show truly deserves all the love it's receiving. And don't even get me started on the visuals lolEnjoy....

It worth it
I haven't seen a lot of K-dramas and this became one of my favourites. I had problem to fall for this story firstly, but then it happened somehow. It's hard compare to whole BL, It's really good for Korean ones. Yes, the plot seems strange in the beginning and not for everyone although it's cute, sad, lovely and I need to watch it again. As I said, I think plot is weaker and not because it’s simple. Shi On is like homeless sad puppy and Hong Seok did mistake because he pat him. When you keep this comparison in your mind, the story become more realistic.
If I think about actors... I'm sure their visuals suit their roles. And they are handsome as a bonus.
In the end this is a story about destiny and desire to be loved. Also, I was look forward to kissing scene, because whenever I saw interesting plot and actors this was fail, but there I felt it. And I stand for what I have said.

C'est le cas de Color Rush, To My Star, Mr Heart, Wish You Your Melody From My Heart, ou encore Where Your Eyes Linger...

Simplemente NO
Simplemente NO.
No pasa.
Simplemente NO.

Emocionante e bonito
