Huh... well I actually really liked this
I know I typically enjoy non-problematic tropes. Seeing a bad boy x good girl sort of trope with a multitude of side characters who hurt and create obstacles in their relationship would usually never appeal to me.I guess it's just because I never saw it done well... until now.
Lighter and Princess is a must watch, with a compelling storyline (it's very thorough) and well thought-out character arcs. Characters truly have their own distinct personalities, and there's a lot of realism in their development. They all have their strengths and their flaws, and the drama does make you question what's really good or bad or in the gray zone. It doesn't hurt that the cast is absolutely eye candy, including Jenny Zeng, Arthur Chen, and Zhang Jingyi.
I was one of the people putting off watching it because I thought it'd be one of those stories where a female lead revolves and orbits around a toxic male lead. I found instead that the female lead, Zhu Yun, really found her independence, identity, and goals in life after working with Li Xun, something she didn't have before. Li Xun received care and learned love from Zhu Yun. It was a complementary relationship that I enjoyed watching. Of course, no sane girl should go after a Li Xun like character in real life; however, I really thought this relationship was one of my favorites watching the show. I don't see the anti-feminist or misogynist implications that a lot of people try to place here.
The storyline is a great revenge/strategy plot like you'd see in a Wuxia drama seamlessly woven into a sweet romance. I really enjoyed it and binged watched this whole thing in three days (yeah, definitely not good). It is melancholy, it can be dark, and it does explore themes such as depression, monopolization, jealousy, etc.
Overall, a masterpiece. I think 2022 was a really good year, yielding both Reset and this.

Never felt my emotions surge up so much until this Drama
As someone who watched tons of dramas during COVID and reduced them and only watched the popular or eye-catching ones post COVID, this was a MASTERPIECE. I barely say this, but this truly felt like I was part of the drama. As someone who has experienced something similar, I felt my emotions were being touched and felt by someone else.
Coming back to the drama, what I liked the most is how it showed the priorities people have in real life and showing how different emotions lead on to different outcomes.
This is my first ever drama I have watched of the leads. I have heard how Arthur Chen, lacks in his acting skills but this proved it wrong. Sometimes being quiet and actions show them more. I did read a review or a comment saying how they were annoyed about Zhu Yun, but I think those feelings and emotions last for quite a while when you have very strong feelings for your partner and vice versa. But it haunts you even more in the end, when they act like they never had those feelings and you can never get a closure. Anyone who experiences such events, heal in different ways or sometimes they don't. The only thing I didn't like in the drama but can't blame Zhu Yin is how easily she let herself weak for Li Xun when they met each other again. I think they should have let her not forget how she suffered those years because of several peoples action.
Onto the support roles, as much as GJH pissed me off and he acted so pathetic during the drama. Everyone gets jealous but getting obsessed about it without caring how it affects everyone around you is definitely another level of patheticness. I'm not sure if the he deserved what the ending was but yeh FZJ definitely got a good ending. He could have definitely had some self respect and reduced that ego. Same for Li Xun, I get he is godly and stuff, but high ego never does any good to anyone.
I also didn't like FSM, such a two faced friend but at the same thats also reality. Not all your friends and roommates will support your side, everyone has their own priorities whether your being right or not. Thats what I liked about this drama, It showed the reality of campus in terms of friendship to some extent. Not everything can be captured in one drama but this definitely had those aspects that most dramas do not show.
Though it is a slow burn drama, and I myself hesitated for 3 years before I watched it and YES I DEFINITELY GOT HOOKED.
I would recommend to anyone who is trying to find dramas with good reality check and slow burn romance about struggles. (But yes it is more on the emotional aspect over physical struggles experienced).

A Love Built on Trauma and Courage
I must admit, this Chinese drama didn’t grab my attention right away. The first few episodes felt a bit slow and not particularly engaging. However, as the story unfolds, it becomes absolutely impossible to stop watching. It grows steadily, becoming emotionally rich and deeply compelling, with a perfect balance between complexity and simplicity. The plot follows the characters over several years, which adds realism and depth to their relationships and personal struggles. While there are some weak points in the script — such as rushed scenes or slightly forced dialogues — the overall story is well-developed and captivating.
Li Xun is a striking character with a painful and difficult past. His trauma is deeply felt, and his strength in overcoming it is admirable. At the same time, he can be frustrating, especially when he acts recklessly or speaks harshly, often hurting those close to him. This duality, however, makes him more human and relatable.
Zhu Yun, on the other hand, has a simpler personal arc, but she shines through her inspiring personality. She's strong, determined, and incredibly charming — the kind of character who captivates not because of tragedy, but because of resilience and integrity.
Their love story is intense and filled with ups and downs, portrayed with sensitivity and emotion. The setting, soundtrack, and performances also greatly enhance the experience.
My only disappointment lies in the ending: bittersweet and a bit too open. Many important aspects of the characters’ futures remain unanswered — the fate of the company they dreamed of building, the children they talked about having — all left unresolved. A few more episodes or even a second season would have helped to complete the story more satisfyingly. Still, this drama is outstanding and absolutely worth watching.

The King and Knight
The king and knight is the title of one of the OSTs and I feel like it describes this drama perfectly. The King fits Li Xun with his noble ideals and uncompromising attitude. The Knight fits Zhu Yun with her loyalty and trust. Together they battle against the evils of the world. It is a contemporary fairy tale of two people aiming to change the world. Was this review helpful to you?
Simple and short Opinion
I just watched some short in youtube and read some comments and i felt like to watch.. and that's what i did.. the things i felt really good in this drama are..1. How a girl should be.. competitive, trustful, confidence.
2. Male lead character is a little too arrogant but the confidence on his skills is the thing the youth wants..
3. Ofcourse not many of us will watch dramas to learn something.. just to entertain ourselves.. so coming to that it's a youth drama so as we think romance, small fights between friends everything is there..
4. The important thing that watchers will found in this drama is trust..

Un drama hermoso
Comencé a ver Lighter and Princess después de haber visto a Chen Fei Yu en When Destiny Brings the Demon.

L&P is one of the best dramas I've watched so far. The plotline, the acting, the visuals - everything is top notch. Zhang Jingyi and Chen Feiyu (Arthur) hit the bullseye when playing these roles. You can sense the difference between their school days and after they start working, the maturity Zhu Yun gained and the more withdrawn Li Xun was after his time in prison. The expressions and whole 'vibe' they gave out was amazing. One of the dramas that doesn't get me to finish watching purely for the sake of being able to say I finished watching it. Lighter and Princess is a really symbolic title and I would say outlines their relationship well. We get two sections of relationship development: From the beginning of school, where Li Xun and Zhu Yun fall for each other, and the rekindling of their past relationship after when they are adults despite Zhu Yun's family. Li Xun's opinions I feel like aren't as unfair as some claim they are. He dislikes nepo babies and the rich who make it seem like they are doing everything good while in reality they are doing nothing at all. The addition of Ren Di (Zeng Keni/Jenny) as a friend is a nice touch as well. Overall, it is absolutely a must watch for anyone who hasn't yet. Was this review helpful to you?
Such A Beautiful Drama❤️
Acting: First thing I want to say that Chen Feiyu and Zhang Jingyi both did an amazing job in this drama. Chen Feiyu's swag as Li Xun lit up the entire plot. Zhu Yun's compassion brought the best out of Li Xun.Chemistry: Uff! I can't stop talking when it comes to their chemistry. It's sizzling. It feels so real.
OST: The OST are superb. They are written from the perspective of the characters. Specially, the intro song is from totally Li Xun's perspective.
Plot: The plot is really really good!
Re-watch: I've already re-watched 5 times. It's a highly recommend modern Cdrama. Definitely my #1

The chemistry between the leads is absolutely through the roof
10/10 ⭐️This is the first Chinese drama I’ve ever given a 10/10 (apart from Twelve Letters, but I don’t really count that since it’s a short drama), so that says a lot.
The storyline flows so well from start to finish. It’s not draggy like many C-dramas, and I hardly have to fast forward. Every moment felt like it had a purpose. And the chemistry is through the roof. I really think they have the best chemistry in the Cdrama world. Their acting is so good, and there are so many iconic scenes and memorable lines that I lovee
But what I loved most is how the characters stayed true to who they were throughout the entire show. I feel in a lot of shows, the characters lose their personality or core values once they fall in love or as the story progresses. Their relationship was heartbreaking yet so beautiful at the same time.
And I lovee the ending, the way it tied everything back to the beginning was so beautiful. I really regret not watching this earlier, even though it was in my watchlist for the longest time
Anw my criteria for a 10/10 drama is:
- A strong plot from beginning to end with no unnecessary or draggy scenes.Every scene serves a purpose
- Amazing chemistry between the leads
- Supporting cast that’s just as strong
- I never feel the urge to fast-forward or get bored
- An OST that complements the story
L&P checked all the boxes and I know a lot of people find this drama toxic but honestly I think they are both just flawed characters which makes it even more realistic

My first drama of 2023!
Well, I started it in 2022 but towards the end obviously lol. I immediately saw a trailer of this and from then I was kind of hooked, but even though it was like your typical fresh youth drama but the twist is they grow up, duh. Lol. But overall, it was good. Smartest boy around and smartest girl around click and what could go wrong? Well everything tbh. Because they're completely opposite, family wise, relationship wise, just experience in the world but truly? If you really love someone, sometimes, it kind of is enough. Like they go through the ringer, I had to take some breaks in between but this show was kind of a fresh breath of air? Great acting, great OST, great storyline, my first time seeing some of these young rookies and I adored it. I adored the chemistry; I adored how innocent the relationships were until they weren't. I even liked the extra trash drama that costed on by. Lol. But truly, it was a beautifully written story, shot in wonderful angles, way too much make up on our ML but they all truly were adorable.I may watch this again one day, some day. But right now, was just the perfect amount for me tbh.

enemies to lovers plot
i love ml and fl acting and how their relationship deepened when they went through good and bad times. honestly, some parts of this show was confusing to me and the characters of the ml and fl seemed like red flags sometimes. i thought ml was wearing wigs but apparently he dyed his hair blonde and even got it cut into a buzz cut just for this show. he really sacrifices his hair for this show lol. fl's acting was quite okay. my first time seeing both of them acting in a drama and their acting is quite on point. the plot was quite interesting and i really liked the start of the show! iost is soooo good, esp the theme song "Falling You"! this drama was overall worth my time bingewatching! :)Was this review helpful to you?

One of my favourite enemies to lovers!
This drama is so good! This contains: arguments with friends, ups and down, etc
( He fell first, She fell harder!! Enemies to Lovers!!! )
Li Xun is a cold computer genius that can programs pretty much anything and Zhu Yun is a friendly and smart girl when they both met Li Xun was cold to her and messed with her and he started a club that program website for business to earn money and at first Zhu Yin didn't want to join the club but Li Xun personally invited her and they worked together to program website for business. Li Xun when he got closer with Zhu Yun he teased her by calling her " your highness" " princess " and always nice to her and listens to her but not to others which I find very cute and adorable! ( You guys have to watch the drama to find out the rest, must watch!! )
