K-Drama 
A masterpiece so far!
‘Love like the Galaxy’ has become my new favorite obsession and I’m predicting my favorite drama of 2022.Highly recommend for fans of the Historical-Romance genre, and someone looking for a funnier and shorter version of ‘The Story of Minglan’. ‘Love like the Galaxy’ has equal parts romance, family theatrics, and politics, so there’s never a dull moment. It’s definitely a great introductory drama to Chinese Historical Epics as it’s easy to follow and doesn’t require extra brainwork to understand all the nitty-gritty politics and social stuff. It almost feels like a Chinese version of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice in terms of strong distinctive character-types and the simple theme of falling in love in an era where marriage is treated like business.

The acting is on point!
Well first of I love the show because of the storyline and the plots. The Main Characters are great actors and give the audience amazing emotions and feelings. I also love the drama quality, vibe and background music it all just fits perfect. But the acting truly impressed me they bring the emotions on point so that the audience can feel it with in. I really recommend this especially because I'm a great fan of historical drama and this one is so far one of my favourite it's really great. So-so Big Budget Historical Soap Opera with 大木头
It's a so -so story with a big focus on slice of life and family dynamics. It isn't very plot driven, mostly revolves around family issues and romance. The FL has been neglected by her parents due to their responsibilities for the kingdom as military officials which required them to leave their home. The FL is treated poorly by her grandmother and extended family while her parents are away. She is smart and has a strong personality which is great especially when it comes to standing up against people who are bullies. At times I found it to be too impulsive, abrasive, and overdone. I understand it is a part of the story and the novel as the FL is supposed to be fairly young but it was too much at times and it was grating. Her parents played their roles beautifully. The general is stuck between his daughter, wife, and mother; it makes a man want to run and hide from all the drama but the general handles it deftly and with humor. The wife has also been a part of the military campaigns with her husband so she is strong willed and feisty. She clashes with the FL repeatedly and at times is pretty harsh with her treatment of her daughter to rein in her behavior.The ML was pretty wooden and stiff in his acting abilities, not sure who takes the Big Wooden (大木头) Acting Award for 2022 but he's a top runner for it. His role is to be the good looking stiff cold general ML who keeps saving the FL and has lovey dovey puppy eyes only for her. He was slightly better in his acting in The Long Ballad but he had more chemistry with this FL than the FL in The Long Ballad.
The FL acting is good and she plays the character well. There were repeated references to the FL's extraordinary beauty in the show, from a male perspective I would say she's cute girl next door in terms of looks but not an extraordinary beauty. When the series pushes that narrative to tell you versus to show you, it demonstrates a lack of proper story telling and heavy handed tactics.
Didn't really like the instalove thing with the male suitors, it was too quick with how the ML falls in love with her. Even the SMLs had this instalove thing going with the FL. They meet her for the first time, she solves some puzzle, and BIM BAM BOOM I'm so in love with her and ready to devote myself wholeheartedly? There is a love triangle and reverse harem with her three suitors, it isn't over the top which is good, not big on the love tri and quad thing.
At times it was slow and tested my patience but its watchable for most of the characters. Its a big budget series so the settings, historical costumes, production, editing, and cinematography are excellent.

Expected something better
I have been reading the reviews of this drama and expected something out of this world but I was left disappointed. I am currently watching two dramas because of the great reviews. This one left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.I am comparing this drama with another one in extraordinary attorney woo and while I find that one great and this one less so.
The acting is good but not sure so much of the story. The music is not so great.
I don't like only moments in a drama that are great but I want the whole episode to be great.
This is not really for me.

A Brutal Study of Child Neglect Disguised as "Domestic Comedy"
The first half of this show is an exercise in frustration. Zhao Lusi is phenomenal as a girl who has been marginalized, bullied, and abandoned by a cold, calculating mother and a monstrously selfish grandmother. You feel her isolation and her brilliance as she outwits the bullies of the capital. However, the narrative issues start early: the show tries to make the grandmother’s abuse "funny" with silly music and slapstick antics.Watching the ML (Wu Lei) enter the frame with such intensity and pain is the only thing that keeps you going. You hope for an epic about two broken people finding justice, but even here, the Emperor’s "funny grandpa" act is clearly a mask for a weak leader who allows a 15-year-old girl to be a political scapegoat. It’s a slow-burn setup that hints at greatness but is already showing signs of the twisted logic to come.

I dropped this show after 3 eps because of the subject material ie child abuse/neglect, made into entertainment because the victim has wit and tenacity.I picked it up again out of solidarity for Zhao Lusi.
She handles this difficult role with depth & credibility, bringing humour & sensitivity.
Sadly, the show is so full of stereotypical back-biting that I can hardly stand it. Not forgetting the usual tropes of spoilt girls expecting to marry whoever they want, and bullying going unpunished with victim blaming and shaming.
The final straw for me, dropping the show now at #22, is the mother. The actress is good & I have seen her in other shows; of course, not every character can be lovable. But it is too hard to believe that a woman who is 1. a capable and battle-hardened general; 2. a loving wife; and 3. a mother to two older boys, can be so flummoxed by raising her daughter as to resort to verbal cruelty every time. I don’t know why people praise this show so much. I can’t stand watching anymore.

As it said this drama is slow burn but once you watch it with fully understanding the story is really good follow these excellent Actors, cinematography and visual.ML&FL have very strong chemistry and they really suited for their roles. They portray their roles just right. The only thing made me disappointed is the mother who left her child since she is baby then comeback after over 10 years didn’t show love to her daughter and discipline her in a wrong way!
Overall this drama is the best that I can watch over and over again!

Beautiful and powerful show
Once in awhile there’s a show really captivates the audience. Last time I had this feeling I was watching nirvana in fire. Although different end goals both have great actors, production etc.I really enjoyed this drama. Prob one of the few I didn’t feel the need to skip scenes and episodes.
The first arc is focused on the family structure and how it shapes our FL. Then second last focuses on how the FL affects the story and other characters in a wider scale( palace and more political arcs)
The story might move slower than most ppl want but it captivates the viewer with smart comedic scenes etc. The story is also complicated in order to fully explain and accomplish Ling buyi goals there needed to be that many arcs. Each puzzle piece slowly getting put together resulting in a beautiful masterpiece

A drama that is complete in EVERY way
I started this drama because of my girl Zhao Lusi and man does she never disappoint! LLTG is honestly one of the most complete dramas I've seen in a long time. The script, acting, costumes, and directing are all so well done. This drama honestly has a good mix of everything. You want angst? LLTG has that. Comedy? LLTG has that. Tooth rotting romance? LLTG has that. Political intrigue? LLTG has got you covered.They say that a good script can cover any bad actor, but that does not apply to LLTG. EVERY actor in this drama fulfills their role so well. Zhao Lusi and Wu lei were fantastic and its so nice to see that they had a chance to appear as a main couple in their own drama after the Long Ballad. I always knew Lusi was a fantastic actress, but it was the second time I've ever seen Wu Lei act and he was outstanding. I loved his portrayal of the stoic yet misunderstood Ling Bu Yi. Every time he looked at Chen Shao Shang with honey practically dripping out of his eyes I found it hard not to squeal because of the chemistry.

Edit 15/1/2024: Watching for the fifth time and still can't get enough of Leo and LusiWhoever wrote this story deserves all the accolades because this series upended most of the tropes that I dislike in C dramas and made something so refreshing and compulsively watchable. Leo Wu and Zhao Lusi were spectacular and the other actors played their roles skillfully from the first episode until the last, I was glued to my screen. I love this and I honestly don't think there's any series that even comes close to its brilliance. It's a must-watch if you like the interplay of comedy, action, and family drama. Perfection!

Wow, one of the best last few years
This is very similar to Sword Snow Stride in terms of story telling and character development but the BIGGEST thing it's so much better than Sword Snow Stride is NO SLOW MOTION. So so much better without those slow motion scenes.I would rate this one over Sword Snow Stride. Much better character development and story telling. I really like the female lead so much. FINALLY a show worthy of Zhao Lusi. She is one of my favorite actresses but I cannot finish any of her last several titles because the shows were so boring and silly. This show finally is able to utilize her talents to the fullest. Love her so much as an actress. One of the funniest actresses but when it comes to serious scenes, she's equal to the task. One of my favorite scenes is her in that cooking comedy where she yells outside the door of the rich guy at the hotel to introduce herself. That is pure comedy genius... alas, show was such a disappointment and I could not finish it.
I am on episode 12 and this is so good. It gets really good after episode 6. I finished Dream of Splendor and while I liked that one, this is so much better. It is so hard to miss a single episode here. No wasted fillers and everything moves quickly. No long winded conversations that go nowhere. No stupid silly music effects like some other shows to show comedy.
I only wish I could binge all the episodes now!
