One lipstick, one love
If there is a common cliché in age-gap romances, it's the young man chasing the woman. Why is this? Because it is often explained that a "mature" woman doesn't want to see the interest of a young man and is the last one to fall in love only after all the efforts of the pretender. So the cliché is in place and we can now focus on the content of the story. I want to say that there is nothing new on the horizon, childhood friends who lost touch when the woman started her professional life. She has had several relationships, he hasn't because she's the only love of his life. So why say I liked this drama?
Because there is no room for misunderstanding in their relationship, the watchword is communication even if the subject is painful. Lu Zheng An knows what he wants and why he wants it. He isn't childish, he just doesn't want to sacrifice his happiness (his love) for things he considers futile. I like it when he says that he isn't against wealth and fame as long as it doesn't affect his lover.
Lin Yang questions her decisions and behaviour towards her boyfriend when she knows that she's acting in his interest and not in their relationship and that sometimes being the oldest doesn't necessarily mean the wisest and most rational. I like the fact that this drama shows us that a woman, even if she is independent and strong, allows herself to lean on a shoulder when she needs it. It is not necessarily her boyfriend, but also her friends and family.

Kisses, Chemistry, and Unstoppable Love: Why "My Fated Boy" is the Sweetest Romance You'll Watch
Ngl, My Fated Boy was such a joy to watch, especially the romance between Lin Yang and Lu Zheng An. Yeah, the whole older woman and younger guy thing is a pretty common trope in dramas, but this one just hit differently. The way they portrayed it made it feel fresh and genuine, and I was totally invested in their relationship from the start. The FL, Lin Yang, is in her 30s and has all these real-life struggles—work, family, finding love again—while the ML, Lu Zheng An, is this sweet, younger guy who has adored her since they were kids. Their connection was pure, and the way he saw her as his treasure made every moment between them feel special. There were a lot of kissing scenes, and I have to say, it wasn’t over the top but rather, like, a natural extension of their love for each other. I found myself rooting for them every step of the way.
Even the love triangle didn’t bug me like it usually does in other dramas. It wasn’t one of those annoying situations where you just want to skip through it. Instead, it added depth to their story, making the moments where Lin Yang and Zheng An found their way back to each other even sweeter.
Honestly, the chemistry between the leads was off the charts. Watching Zheng An’s steady devotion, how he treated Lin Yang like she was the most precious person in the world, made my heart melt. The way he was so determined to make her see that age doesn’t matter when it comes to love? Ugh, it was just beautiful.
Overall, My Fated Boy took a familiar plot and made it something memorable. If you're into romantic dramas with lots of heartfelt moments, plenty of kisses (lol), and a sweet but mature love story, this is a must-watch. It leaves you with all the feels!
If you love pure, feel-good romance with great chemistry and a heart-warming story about finding love at the right time (no matter the age gap), this drama is perfect for you.

Hidden Gem
This is a very well-rounded show where all the essential elements of creating a drama: the script, the cast, the editing, the music, all work together harmoniously to create a fun story that is very grounded in real life but yet keeps it wholesome. In truth, the very premise itself is already dramatic enough: the girl is 7 years older than the guy. That's it. That's all the drama anyone can handle, and so this show doesn't try to create more artificial conflict. All the characters are thoughtfully written, and even the side characters are essential to the main storyline. I generally dislike the habit Cdramas tend to have of having secondary characters and romances that generally have absolutely nothing to do with the main couple, but in this show, every side character has a role that is integral to the main plot, and so their fate and how they entwine together are therefore very relevant. The comedic timing in this show is on point; not only do characters deliver their punchlines impeccably, but the director knows exactly which angles, which shots, and which background music will deliver the jokes to the greatest effect. I was crying from laughter throughout many episodes and sometimes couldn't even sleep because I was giggling too much over a particular gag. Flashback scenes are hilarious and also tie into the present timeline's themes, with childhood quirks setting up jokes later in the episode, and even later in the series. Most of all, this show is very self-aware; the characters point things out almost as soon as I think them in my head, including things that someone didn't do but should have done, and what this typically signifies. A lot of usual stereotypes get turned on their heads; many characters that would normally be antagonists in other stories are thoughtful allies in this one; comic relief characters are essential heroes that display appropriate gravitas and dignity when the situation warrants, and even the one flat antagonist that I believe other reviewers have referred to has the interesting symbolic role of representing the often superficial public opinion, so her lack of depth is actually appropriate for what she is meant to portray. This show is made of top quality ingredients that are cooked together in a way that both complement and elevate all the individual components, leading to a truly enjoyable experience. I couldn't put the series down and ended up finishing this show two days. An absolute must watch! Was this review helpful to you?

Unpopular opinion here
My rating of this show was all over the place. Started out good, but hated the FL. I asked my "watching buddy" how long she was going to be irritating - she was truthful and said for quite awhile. She was right. The whole middle part dragged for me - how many times do we need to hear the discussion about the age gap? I was just getting ready to power through with the help of my fast forward button, when, at about episode 20, things turned around. That raised my rating again.I'll start with the things that bothered me. I know I'm being picky here, but when you add them up, I was irritated more than I was enjoying.
1) For the love of Mike, Chinese dramas don't need to be that long! Get a good editor and tighten it up. If I have to fast forward a lot, that lowers the rating.
2) The FL was terrible (for me) through multiple episodes at the beginning. Yelling, pouting, bitter, she had it all. Then toward the end, when he asked her to marry him, she acted like she was mad...what was that about?
3) Costuming - FL was constantly running/walking in the streets wearing stiletto heals. Short or short, short skirts with high heels - just no. Clothing with ribbons hanging off of them - dangerous in a workplace. ML wore, for the most part, baggy oversized clothes (to make him appear young and immature?). ML's boss - greasy unkempt hair and his clothes were terrible!
4) Stalker girl went on for entirely too long. She should have had a restraining order against her.
5) We finally get rid of the stalker girl, and then the evil company president comes along. Why did she want to discredit him anyway?
6) Too much drinking, decision making when drunk, etc.
7) Too repetitive with the age disparity.
8) Her dressing her three-year-old son like a girl was strange.
9) The final scene, when they are panning the camera through the house, wasted potential. I was hoping we'd get to see them together when they were older, with white hair. I kept expecting that, then it was just done.
10) Attorney that she had been interested in, kept putting her off...why? Then when he knows that she's moved on, he suddenly said he loves her. Then he keeps trying to convince ML that he and FL shouldn't be together.
However, on the other side of the coin.
1) The leads were so cute together.
2) The ML was absolutely adorable, and that smile! He reminded me so much of Seo In Guk.
3) No evil parents, how refreshing!
4) I almost cried when she got the text from her MIL to be. I loved how excited she was to know that they were together.
5) The stalker redeemed herself in a great way.
6) No unnecessary breakups. Once they finally talked to each other, they were able to resolve issues maturely.
7) I love that the ML had loved her since they were children. The scene when he was 15 (that she didn't remember) was beautifully done. And I like how he never wavered.
8) Child actors were good.
9) Thank you SO much for giving us time with them together. The whole suffering through tons of episodes of the couple being apart, just to get together in the last 15 minutes, is SO overused.
10) The girl friendships - the three of them were always looking out for one another.
11) This is totally random, but I keep thinking about it. In one scene, the three friends were outside walking, and the married woman had a cup of coffee and was doing a great job of acting like the cup was hot, switching it from hand to hand. Normally, you can totally tell that there is nothing in the cups they are using.
So, at the end of the day, if you have patience for unlikeable characters, and you don't mind a lot of filler in each episode, give this one a try, you'll probably really like it.

SWEET SWEET SWEET LUV!!!
Amazing acting from both main FL & ML! Their chemistry is so natural and comfortable to watch throughout the entire drama. Luv every episodes start off about their cute childhood memories then it goes back into their current lives. Not to mention, l like the supporting casts such as their friends and Ma Le that always bring humor and can be quite talkative at times. Music OSTs all great to listen and I find myself replaying them without getting bored. Nice storyline, smooth pace. Really recommend this cdrama to anyone who interested in older woman/younger man romance theme & plus steamy kisses. Was this review helpful to you?
Nice combination of tropes done right
This drama is nothing special but sweet, fluffy and has a whole bunch of good old drama cliches keeping you just a little bit nervus done mostly right. There is one character that is annoying but she grows allot during the drama making all the scenes bearable to watch and not a single itch to skip, big + for that. The show , shows a nice level of character growth and has one of c-dramalands sweetest thrupple sisterhood. The female lead is pretty smart when it comes to all but her emotions. The male lead is as warm as hot cup of coco, he may be a tad persistent but overall he is pretty good at not forcing himself on the female lead.
So all in all pretty sweet and fluffy and definitely has the potential to fulfill all your fluffy needs.

Great plot and realistic.
Omg! Love this C- Drama. Tbh i think this is the best I have watched!!! No cliche and cringey scenes! Both the leads have great chemistry together!!!!The ML is sooo cuteee while the FL is sooo beautiful!!! I like the FL’s character. Not like the typical stupid and naive FL. Strong, independent and logical! Very worth to watch… this drama gave me lots of life lessons. I can relate with this drama as day by day I’m growing older haha.
There are lots of intimate scenes but yet very sweet to watch.
The only thing that I dislike is i guess some scenes it is too long? Like they edited the scenes to be longer than it should.
Overall, you should really watch it guys!!!

A beautiful thoughtful April September romance tale- Unmissable!
Dont miss this unmistakable gem. Here is a list of what went right with My Fated Boy- Sensitive writing with a lot of depth
- Great character development
-Heartwarming scenes linking to the past when the ML and FL were childhood playmates
- Non cliched treatment of the problems of a noona romance. Loved that they did not shy away from the discussions that being older she would age faster and may even die first.
-Super-loved the fact that she is his first sexual partner.
- The supporting actors and their stories all tying in with the theme of nurturing love.
- Every character tried to become better version of themselves. Its as if when faced with a seemingly impossible but intense love between the ML and the FL, each character felt the need to find in themselves understanding, warmth and maturity. It wasnt as if they brushed the age difference under the carpet but accepted it genuinely and tried to protect the difficult relationship.
- Superb chemistry between the FL and ML. His eagerness and heart on sleeve attitude and her reserve born out of past disappointments-- so wonderfully portrayed. I dont think I will ever forget him crying to his father that he wants to protect her but feels useless because she is so capable. Such real fears.
I think 2021 marks the year when C-dramas came of age and started producing real and timeless stories that sit well with audience in non-Chinese speaking areas. And my Fated Boy will arguably occupy one of the top spots.

Such a Gem!
An independent woman and the younger man who’s loved her all his life…possibly even before birth. Will she ever see him as more than the son of her parents’ best friends? The ML is just… adorable & swoon worthy! He never falters in his pursuit of the FL. He doesn’t give up when she shies away out of fear, he doesn’t get swayed by others’ opinions. He adjusts to her pace when he realizes he’s being too much, too soon. He never hesitates to put love rivals firmly in their place, leaving no room for misunderstandings. His choice is her - always, forever. She’s his ultimate - his BAE 💞
And his goodness wins him a love to be envied by everyone around.
When the FL allows herself to follow her heart into his arms, they’re a duo that can overcome anything life throws their way. They’re both strong on their own, but together, they’re unbreakable. 🫠
If you haven’t watched this yet, I definitely recommend it if you’re wanting a sweet love story without any drama trauma. Also, the OST is really good - looooove when the ML “sings” 😍

Truly enjoy with everything!
Hello fellow watchers! I just finish watching this drama. I start with little expectations because at first I just watch it for the sake of "no breakup near the end" "no love triangle" and "no misunderstanding", but this drama really exceed my expectations.[Before that, my writing include some spoiler, but before the spoiler part, I will put "*spoiler*" so you can just skip the spoiler part if you don't want to be spoiled!]
I like almost everything about this drama! So here is my list of what I like and dislike about it!
What I LIKE :
1) healthy relationship
By what I mean with healthy relationship is, they started with imperfect couple who gone through a lot of problems and is willing to learn from it. Somehow, some drama managed to show us the "healthy relationship" because they doesn't really have a problem with each other (which is almost impossible irl). But in this drama, the couple went a lot of trouble (mainly because the ml is a public figure) but still going strong. Their relationship is honestly so matured and sweet! You will enjoy every single moment of them!
2) different background of women.
This drama show us what a woman need to go through in their life. Of course it is not the same with everyone. In this drama, they show the struggle of a single mother, a full-time wife, unmarried woman in her 30s, a young woman who chase her crush, a 40s mother and so on. I'm a girl, so while watching this drama, I always wondered, which of these characters will I relate to the most.
3) the childhood story at the beginning of the drama.
It is so cute<33333 it does not take to much time and really cute!!! You will always find yourself giggle at their cuteness.
4) character development.
Almost every character have the character development and I love it especially *spoiler* Li Tian. Goshhh this girl is so annoying at first (thanks to her cute face, I don't really hate her at that time). She keep chase An An like a crazy fan. But An An always straightforward with her and she eventually accept it and slowly change into a better person <333
5) Lovely side character.
Okay where do I start? The family? FL best friend? Their boss? ML coworkers? FL boss's wife? The sister at the cafe they frequently go?
Most of them are reallyyyyyyyyyy great!
*Spoiler* of course there are some that annoying, but they won't last long😏.
6) the emotion
I laugh and cry like crazy. Oh and I usually cried in some rom-com drama because of how stupid the main cp act (like literally stupid!). But in this drama, I cried because it is beautiful. It is really relatable at some part. You can call it tears of joy<333 and of course I laugh because it's funny.
What I DISLIKE :
1) 2-close-person-like-same-girl trope.
*Spoiler* An An and his cousin like yang yang and this make them kinda fight against each other? BUT, in the end they are good again, so don't worry they don't actually hate each other. You won't really feel their distance.
I think that's all what I like and dislike. Hope this help you in making decision. Btw, you can easily watch this at youtube "youku english".
I truly enjoy this drama and if you decide to watch it, I hope you get the same feeling!
Bye!
