The EPIC masterpiece!
I'm a core, die-hard fan of xianxia dramas and when the destiny brings the demon has my heart and everything !the gratitude, the way the production team delivered at the end had my whole respect.
The cast: they are the chef's kiss! what a coherent cast. For sure no other cast group could've done it better that this one 😭🥹
The acting: They are the definition of acting! how well they have delivered their roles in all the very episode.
This is my kinda drama where I cannot miss them too much cuz they just gave every single scene which we crave, how well the outcome have come, just everything.

Cinematic masterpiece, great production. Incredible acting
Both FL & ML are so good at acting & express their emotions through face & eyes. FL is so clumsy, sweet, cute & funny. ML appeared as a cold blooded character, but warm in inside, interesting plot. Love their chemistry & cute interactions. Worth watching. A great production. ML is so protective . Love , hate, friendship is amazingly showcased here. When Destiny Meets The Demon — A Beautiful Yet Flawed Fantasy Tale
When Destiny Brings the Demon had the potential to surpass many recent fantasy C-dramas — and in many ways, it nearly did. The plot was layered with depth, mystery, and emotion, beautifully anchored by Arthur Chen’s powerful portrayal of Sima Jiao. He captured every flicker of pain, authority, and tenderness with natural grace, giving life to a character that felt both otherworldly and deeply human. His performance alone carried much of the series’ emotional weight and made it unforgettable.However, while the story itself shone, the emotional essence of Liao Tingyan fell short of what it could have been. Wang Yinglu is undeniably talented, but her portrayal lacked the subtle realism needed for such a complex role. Instead of living the character, she often felt like she was acting her, and some of her expressions didn’t quite align with the emotional tone of her scenes. It’s not that she was bad — she simply didn’t embody Liao Tingyan’s inner world the way some seasoned actresses might have.
Still, the drama remains a good watch — visually captivating, emotionally engaging in parts, and carried by a storyline rich with potential. Arthur Chen’s Sima Jiao makes it worth every episode.
⭐ Overall: 8/10 – A promising story with an extraordinary male lead, a slightly uneven female lead performance, but an experience worth your time.

Good story
it been a while good Chinese fantasy drama with a good cast and story line came it nice and funnya nd good story which give you really hooked, as the story line in the starting and in the end episode are different so it don't feel boring and the character growth and their change in behavior make it really nice and freshing drama it is not boring or have give a twists so i make me watch all teh episode which have uploaded waiting for more and actor played a really good role and perfectly match their role and have done a great jobWas this review helpful to you?
The most re watchable, emotional and fun drama to watch!!
I have never been one to rewatch dramas, especially not after I had just finished watching it. But with When destiny brings the demon I rewatched it almost immediately after finishing! I find the beginning 20 episodes really good, because Liao Tingyan is really fun and enjoyable, and also sweet but not too childish (or dumb as it happens with other cute-acting female leads in other dramas) . Of course Sima Jiao is absolutely breathtaking, and he’s a reasonable and logical character with complexities. The combination of her relaxed and unambitious attitude with his serious and suspicious character really makes them an engaging couple to watch. After episode 20 there are some character changes I didn’t like as much anymore, and the ending is also slightly rushed but overall I think it’s 10/10.Was this review helpful to you?

And they become a Gryffindor couple. Thats the show in a nutshell for me.Sizzling chemistry bet leads.
10/10 acting. I watched it just for Arthur Chen.
Amazing depth and range.
Nothing more to add really. My first xianxia show. Dont feel the need to watch others. Its that good.

Fun Romance Adventure With Some Tears and Heartache On the Side
I was totally not expecting to fall in love with this drama but I caught myself loving it very quickly. I have rewatched quite a few scenes and the music is fantastic. Though like most dramas it had its slower parts, it kept my solid attention until the last episode which is rare for me. HIGHLY recommend! The chemistry between the two main characters was perfect. Between them, the music, and the ML in general I recommend this drama to everyone. It does have some really heart wrenching moments but the fluffy moments make it all worth it.Was this review helpful to you?
Everyone in the world wants you dead, only love gives you the strength to survive.
The cultivation world is scary. They are all hungry for power. The, Sima Jiao who is not liked by the world and the heavens suddenly meets a partner who simply wants to enjoy what is there without thirsting for power. The fire meets the ice.The chemistry between the two main actors is excellent and feels natural. Although there are many romantic scenes, I never got enough and always wanted them to be intimate with each other. Wang Yinglu's facial expressions are cute and adorable, but not childish. Arthur Chen's acting as a depressed man who loses his partner is also very detailed and touching .
They deserve a second drama together again.
33 episodes feels so short. I will rewatch this drama often.

Chen Feiyu and Wang Yinglu are dynamic pairing
In the jungle of typical red flag Xianxia MLs, Sima Jiao is the greatest green flag- like a breath of fresh air. I guess, this is one of the best romantic Xianxia dramas this year. Chen Feiyu's domineering charm carries such an aura as Sima Jiao that I could just look at him with my mouth gaping. Wang Yinglu's acting kept me laughing non-stop. They are dynamic pairing. Their chemistry is swoon-worthy. The storyline is good. The OSTs are great.One thing I didn't like was that they reduced 40 episodes to 33. I wished that they had more episodes. I'm going to re-watch it slowly.

Simple and Elegant
Loved it. 💖.I started watching because of Arthur Chen.🥰 Loved him in Lighter&Princess. 🥰First time I saw this FL , she took me by surprised. Their onscreen chemistry clicked from their first scene together. The way they performed in scene were as they were very comfortable with each other. It felt realistic and natural.What I liked the most was there was no arrogant devil lord , I mean there was but not that which take 14 episode to smile or touch a FL. They went from strangers to friend to lovers smoothly without any extra fuss.That's what I loved the simplicity of story.Arthur Chen , has his own arrogance there is some LORD aura you feel every time he appears on screen in any drama and that's what i like about him. He played a protective ,tender,fierce and not so possessive lover which was a new thing in these drama.Otherwise, the possessiveness irritates me that they cannot tolerate FL brothers also. Arthur Chen captured all the emotions so beautifully , making Sima Jiao respectfull and unforgettable.Keeping it real that its a drama .
The FL Wang Yinglu , this was first time I was watching her work and she was so convincing in her character she carried glimpses of a modern girl and a girl in ancient time together. The way she smoothly agreed to sleep with Sima Jiao to help him and with no regret she knew what she is doing and what she wants and was carefree about it . Unlike , in other drama which of course irritate me when they touch or kiss the Ml and throwing tantrum.. Some of the characters in the past really pissed me off.
She set a new standard for female character in chinese drama.
There is no toxic traits, no misunderstandings,no third party .Just simple healthy relationship.
The cutest part was otter and snake.I enjoyed that part so much.
So, satisfying drama with no emotional baggage and tons of crying. Every episode was entertaining .

This...is perfection. Jiao Jiao and Ting Yan will forever live in my heart. This romance is the standard for which all other romances are compared to.Their love was pure, passionate, and the kind that moves you to your soul. No deception. No misunderstandings. Just head over heels destined love.
This romance is the romance you never knew you needed in your heart. You have to RUN and watch it now. Over and over again.

My best drama for 2025
What a great story and great romance between the leads. The romance is great. No time wasting but immediate giving in to each other every step of the way.
