The idea of the story itself is different than others BL series that released in 2020, but with a great execution this series become greater and get a line with another top 5 series of that year. This is also because of the supported from the acting of the main players who are quite capable of their characters,
Through the first 3 episodes I always got a hype of 2gether, even the smiley face that I made was the same when I watched that one.
I think for this year, I will trying to watch more series from East Asian Countries.

Magic in the air!!
I absolutely loved this show.its so so good.adachi and kurosawa are so damn cute.i loved their every interaction but for me this show is 8.5/10 because of the second lead couple,I most of the time found myself skipping their parts.as much as I know minato is supposed to be 23 and there should only be a difference of 7 years between them but still it's weird.i wish there was a season 2Was this review helpful to you?
Who wouldn't want a magic?
What just happened? I was mesmerized by the storyline entirely. It felt like they know from the start that I will be playing on the palm of their hands. Every emotion is uncontrollable. The undeniable chemistry added with dozens of humor potion and a spoonful of sugary sweetness left me hypnotized. The flow of dialogue is consistent. Each line of the characters is well-thought for the 20-minute episodes. The only things I skipped are the episode preview, intro and outro.I must say that the side story of Tsuge-Minato is pretty average. Should've been a different scenario. Also, Tsuge-Minato's acting and chemistry started great but ended monotonously.
This is a MUST-WATCH for sure. Don't waste your time. Watch this and be entertained by their funny moments. I was smiling most of the time while watching this. I laughed too and teared up a little bit.

Sincerity Stuck in "Practice" Mode
“Cherry Magic” is a series with a profound heart that unfortunately gets bogged down by its own hesitation. While the lead actors bring a beautiful sincerity to their roles, the production often undermines that maturity with a frustratingly slow pace and severe tonal whiplash.Nowhere is the show's inconsistency more glaring than in the secondary couple subplot. While Adachi and Kurosawa operate with quiet, "serious person" sincerity, the friend’s secondary romance descends into over-the-top, slapstick caricature. This frantic, "Jerry Lewis" style of comedy feels like it belongs in a completely different genre, creating a jarring experience that disrupts the delicate emotional atmosphere the main couple works so hard to build.
This lack of maturity extends to the narrative structure itself. The show’s reliance on "practice dates" rather than genuine progression artificially lowers the stakes. By keeping the characters in a state of romantic "rehearsal" for the majority of the series, it often feels like "drama for drama’s sake"—a way to stretch the premise without allowing the relationship to evolve naturally.
For a story centered on the intimacy of literally hearing another person's thoughts, the show is remarkably hesitant to explore actual physical or romantic union. By delaying their official commitment and physical intimacy until the final episodes, much of the middle section begins to feel like filler. The profound mental connection the characters share is often at odds with the "hands-off," almost sterile approach to their actual partnership.
When “Cherry Magic” leans into its quiet moments of character growth, it is a lovely exploration of vulnerability. However, the combination of exhausting slapstick and a narrative that refuses to "get on with it" makes for a fragmented viewing experience. It is a show with a beautiful soul that is too often afraid to grow up.

most wholesome BL ever
i inteded to watch this from a long time but hesitated for some odd reason, and boy do I regret not watching it before. Also damn this BL is wayyyy too underrated. If you're looking for a fluffy BL with cute scenes your'e at the very right place. This BL will just melt your heart at every scene. Adachi's cute antics along with Kurosawa's charming aura will have you addicted to the J-drama. However, if you want some steamy bed scenes, well i wouldn't recommended it as this drama dosen't have a single proper kissing scene let alone a bed scene. But i bet you won't be disappointed even if there aren't such scenes. It is so freaking fluffy and cute i just can't 😭😭😭putting the fluff aside, i would like to highlight some important subjects this BL covered, which i really appreciate:
• Protesting against homophobia: people who watched the bl probably know what i am talking about. Rokaku, (idk the spelling, don't come @ me) being the supportive friend he is protected his gay best friend minato againt Tsuge who, they supposed, was avoiding minato because he found him to be gay. Obviously its not true, i am not going to elaborate the context because that would take time. Anyways, i appreciate rokaku's protective nature and wish i had a friend like him :(
• Kurosawa respecting Adachi's decisions/Kurosawa prioritising consent: Man, Kurosawa has to be one the best BL leads. Even though he liked our little adachi for a long time, he never crossed the line when it came to his cute lover, always respected his boundries. He understood Adachi's dilemma about losing his virginity and never forced him into doing things. That company dinner scene where they had to kiss and Kurosawa sensed adachis fear and kissed his temple, had me in tears. We stan a respectful man !!! The series had multiple such scenes where kurosawa proved himself to be a gentleman and treasured adachi with all he has.
• Adachi's character development: Adachi went through some huge transformations throughout the series. From being this little anxious, socially awkward boy to gaining confidence of himself, standing for his best friend tsuge, confessing to his lover. Also the competition scene was so heartwarming, even though he didn't win it, he won in life. Kurosawa played a major role in his character development which made their love even more special.
•Aromantic/Asexual representation: Now i may be wrong about this one but since it was not clear in the series itself, i can consider it this way. correct me if im wrong but I don't think there are any BLs with such representation. Fujisaki's character was really refreshing to watch. finally, a BL that doesn't potray women love rivals as a crazy person.
The thing that sets this BL apart from other BLs is how the makers managed to insert every kind of charater and amalgamte it into one story.
HOPING FOR A SEASON 2 !!!!!!!

Never hated a damn elevator in my whole damn life
April 7, 2021This Japanese BL is one sweet of a ride. I really like the ending as it leads to the foundation that can lead to a second season. I really love our two lovely main leads. They are very affectionate even though there not a single kiss scene or steamy scene like most Japanese dramas. I know a lot of people have been criticizing the side story of the second couple but to be honest I did not find anything weird about them. Both are legal adults and their story is pretty cute too.
It would have been a perfect 10 but I feel like the plot just needs more. I feel like it falls short on explaining things as there as so many questions left unanswered. That being said, Ill change my review later if they release a second season. As I feel like it would explain and clear things up. Crossed my fingers that another season will happen.
Lastly, DAMN I HATE THAT ELEVATOR I LITERALLY GOT ROBBED!!!!

☆I laughed sooo many times
☆It was something fresh & new
☆I loved the ost [It was my second time that i knew the song at the beginning (which i loved it)before the series]
☆The plot is UNIQUE
☆I really loved and i am thankful for the fact the character who played the girl was very sweet/nice and i really liked her (i'm saying that cause in some bls they show the girls like they are sourpusses and evils)

The show that helped me get some happiness
This is the most wholesome, most domestic, most... everything, I've ever seen. It made me happy, it made me confused, it made me cry, but in the best way possible. Kurosawa is the boyfriend material we all need, it's not toxic, it's not rapey. I love how casual the story is (apart from the magic tho), Adachi and Kurosawa are just regular working people with regular lives so I could imagine myself in their place.I have to admit: this is my first dorama and especially my first bl dorama and I am new to this kind of stuff (got bored of the always rapey and stereotypical shounen-ai and yaoi stuff), but this show made me realize that maybe love is for everyone and I shouldn't fear my imperfections because there will be a Kurosawa for me too (I hope lol)

Absolute favourite
I think this is the benchmark I will hold all BLs against1. Great production
2. Incredible acting
3. Believable chemistry
4. No non-con
5. No toxicity (or at least resolved by the end)
6. Good story
This drama imo fulfils all these requirements. Every time I thought something inappropriate and typically r*pey BL style was gonna happen, Kurosawa turns out to be a sweetheart. I also love the depiction of older/real/ordinary people. Also lots of eye candy wow. One more thing, I usually hate the side couple in most BLs: bc it feels unnecessary and only for fanservice, but I realllyy loved the side couple here (even perhaps more than the main).
I think people didn't like that we didn't get an onscreen kiss, but it was fine for me bc I still believed the two were in love so ya. Also nice bits of humour sprinkled in with occasional angst. Cannot recommend this drama enough.

contains lots of fluffy love and bad for your heart
IMO, I think this is the best Japanese BL that I've ever watched. Even though there's no actual kiss scene between the main couple, but I think this is already a good representation of gay romance because a good romance don't always need a NC scenes, right? The story is sooooo sweet, this would make you smile for the entire series. I also loved the second couple but I do think that Tsuge's reactions is a little bit exagerrated. AND THE FINAL SCENE WHERE KUROSAWA GIVE ADACHI A MATCHING PEN INSTEAD OF RINGS MAKES ME T_TI would recommend this series for a first timer or someone who like to focus on the story more than the sexual intercourses.

Sweet and romantic BL with a touch of fantasy
PLOT: On the morning of his 30th birthday, the ML (desperate to still be a virgin and without any relationships) wakes up with the power to read minds. He discovers then that the "perfect" guy at his job is in love with him. He doesn't know how to act, but ends up falling in love with his lover.+++ 2 great leads: Akaso Eiji (♡‿♡) [adorable, shy, insecure, with low self-esteem] & Machido Keita [the Green Forest]
+++ The other characters (talentedly portrayed) are classic Japanese tropes: a girl who wants to take control of her life and pursue a career; a slightly eccentric introverted writer; an overly enthusiastic, intrusive junior who doesn't understand anything; etc.
+++ Coherent, realistic story with well-paced and well-executed direction.
### Adachi's modesty borders on prudishness. [No intimate scenes, not even a real kiss]
### The editing is sometimes jarring: the two special episodes should have been included in the series.
### The OSTs are too Japanese for me (upbeat music even during sad or moving moments).
=> The entire appeal of this series lies in the interactions between Akaso Eiji and Machido Keita ヽ(♡‿♡)ノヽ(♡‿♡)ノ
I'm going to watch the Thai adaptation to compare the two versions.
*****************************************************************
