One of my Favorite Watch This Year!!!
This was a laughter riot thoroughly and I have no qualms expecting a third season! When I watched the first season few years back, I couldn’t stop laughing hysterically. That’s the major highlight of this show- a foul-mouthed Catholic Priest, a comic police detective and a badass Prosecutor. They are entirely contradictory to the kind of the image that their professions demand. It made for an interesting watch; while the prequel was all about forging new ties, the sequel delivers on the promise of seeking justice, albeit with a healthy side dose of humor. Our favorite trio return to defy logic, amassing victories like bitcoin while they remain true to their legendary spirits. All three of them are like mad dogs, unpredictable and chaotic; but that’s what makes this show so intriguing. As our trio head to Busan, they set up a new base, tackle drug lords while forming fresh ties. This drama was my weekend go-to for fun and frolics, there wasn’t a dull moment. Sure, the show did seem to drag in some places (wish they had handled punishing the villains in a better way), but then this show was never about making “sense”.

General review
This is the 1st time I'm doing a review, hopefully it's good enough for a brief review without spoilers!Overall, the cast was perfect as they had very good chemistry with each other & it was nice seeing most of the cast back here from season 1! The story was overall interesting with some predictable parts, but season 1 was still better in terms of storyline. The comedic parts were mostly natural, and the cast really did a good job at making the comedic scenes natural. Hoping for another season based on the ending in the last episode!

To start with, this review might be biased because this is KNG show.I have been following this season from the start, alongwith the comments for each episode. I could see that people felt dismayed because this season is bang opposite of first one:
1. This one is not at all emotionally driven
2. This one has too much "over the top" (i guess) comedy, I will call it silly comedy, while first season had more mature comedy.
3. The plot was quite basic with not so strong motive.
4. As a consequence, the acting might feel over dramatic.
But, as someone who has seen both seasons, I found 1st season more interesting but too long and slow burny for me to rewatch entirely- I would rather prefer last 5 episodes and enjoy the Chemistry of "michi-gang". But, in contrast to the first one, I would run through the 2nd season because it has these loud, extravagant and really silly comic scenes that show all the characters go real mad. This is something I have rarely seen in korean content. Also, since I have also watched Indian comedy movies, so I am kind of used to watching this type of silly and "cringe" (they said) comedy.
I smiled a lot watching this season, and most of all, I was happy to see KNG's character alive in the end.
Yes, the strongest point for rewatch
Period.

Season 1 V Season 2
In season one there was a balance between action, comedy, and drama, which nothing was exaggerated. Watching the evolution of the characters was very satisfying and fun and the best thing is that every character had the moment to shine, it was perfection in all aspects. While in season two, they over exaggerated on the comedy side of the show and kind of neglected the other aspects, it wasn’t deep and emotional as the first season. They had a plenty of time to prepare for the season, but unfortunately I was disappointed with the second season so much that I wished they contented with only one season. Was this review helpful to you?
Mayhem
January 2026.I do love the cast, and my goodness did they have to put themselves out there.
It's a while since I watched S1, but it's a favourite... what happened, Disney+?
OTT I can handle. A little slapstick, dry humour, silliness to cut through the suspense & more visceral scenes ~ all that I can happily handle; but this totally lost its foundations compared to S1.
The weak and childish plot had everything thrown into it... cheap laughs, awful toilet humour, the cast made to act like clowns, drag (though KMG looked weirdly pretty 😆), novelty 'musical' scenes (not uncommon in some American shows), plus pops at S.Korea's seemingly woeful legal system, with a liberal dose of strong violence for good measure.
The constant, and weird, American dialogue from character Park Gyeong Sun (Lee Ha-nee), really irritated me, too.
The look of it was more polished than S1, but that's the only thing that's an improvement ~ the rest didn't come close.
The violence was still pretty strong ~ a drug Lord (the straightest acting in the series, from Sung Joon playing Kim Hong Sik), who didn't mess about with his philosophy of a life for a mistake.
Then there was the torturing of a female intelligence agent, featuring a mallet and lots of screaming... the outcome of which was funnier than a lot of the so-called humour.
That was this drama's biggest problem ~ it swung from violent and trying to be an action plot, to all out slapstick comedy. It did not work. If it's an action drama, any comedy needs to enhance the story and be a little more subtle, or clever, but this was far from either.
I did get the feeling the cast probably had a great time making this (Lord I hope so), but for me it was pretty awful. Sadly.
Can't believe it's the same script writer, and the Director was Asst Director, for S1. A let down.

waste of the incredible cast
There was too much comedy, which wasn't even funny. stupid side plots. over-usage of superpowers was so bad that it was so hard to continue cuz it felt like the villains lost the game due to these illogical superpowers every single time when the villains were overpowering the protagonists something illogical happens and saves the day which was unbearable the protagonists should be those illogical shit not the priest or his gang cuz at the end of the day those were the ones who defeated the vilaains not the priest or his gang.. yeah miracles are meant to happen but those miracles felt very forced and lets be honest how the hell would a plane door will fall right on top of the place they were fighting. second season was not needed as the priest and every other character got their perfect ending in the first season. this season ruined the characters and the drama for me to the point that i will pretend that this never happened. Also wasted the perfect cast as casting sungjoon as a villain was the best thing ever cuz he was so good in the island with kim nam gil. (if you enjoyed this its probably your cup of tea sorry if i offended anyone ) p.s. Kim nam gil slayed that outfit tho iykyk...Was this review helpful to you?

Waited 5 Years to Get Disappointed
This show is a massive disgrace to its prequel, I'm really pissed off! Almost every aspect in this show is messy. The previous season was at least excellently written. Why now I must turn my brain off to watch this season? Why they suddenly add unrealistic things like Yo Han's electric superpower and Fire Eel's bouncing belly?? I mean it's fine, but this type of Tom and Jerry alike jokes didn't exist in the first season!!!The mystery itself, while is a good idea originally, is quite shallow. It's too easy for them to get from Lee Sang Yeob to Kim Hong Sik, everybody was willing to open up their mouth easily. The story is also full of plot armors, for example the aircraft door and the scam gun. Rather than complicated mystery, the storyline is full of characters that get angry without any reason and shout in every possible time. Why they're suddenly very short-tempered? Maybe the writer did this to add more comedy, but I found it's more annoying. The amount of comedy here is already a lot, too much if I may say. They inserted jokes in almost every situation, most of them are forcefully inserted dad jokes or slapsticks.
While most episode is quite poor, the final episode is worse. It's very boring and has a different vibe, and at the end of the day the bad guys didn't seem to get what they deserved. Nam Du Hun climbed to the Supreme Prosecutor Office only to do nothing but defend the accusation. He had power to do something with all three, why do nothing? This episode also full of product placements.
There aren't any proper explanation about Detective Seo from season 1 whereabouts. Hwang Chol Beom should also return since he was pleading to Father Kim back then. Even though most of the casts from previous season returned, I can't feel the chemistry that was existed back then in the first season. Maybe they were actually reluctant to do this script.
This show is more like Jackie Chan's action+comedy style. Only rewatch if you're looking for dad jokes.

Totally hilarious and full of laughter
Kim Nam Gil totally was born for action vibes! I am glad to see him again in Fiery Priest 2. The drama still funny just like season 1. Thank you to director for still keeping all the main cast. I supposed to hate the villain in the drama but I’m sorry I cannot do that. I love all the character and I don’t have any reason to hate them. Every role are important and funny. Season 2 still got the power to make people laugh. I hope season 2 will have a good ending. I’m looking forward for next episode. Was this review helpful to you?

Never Go Full Retard!
As someone who binge watched the first season in a day and half, this season was an absolute struggle to complete. Not my style! The Good- I love this ensemble cast. Even the new ones who joined this season, were all in sync with the older characters (special shoutout to my girl, Bibi!). Everyone had their highlight moments and the matching vibes was fun to see (some of the time). The villains were well fleshed out characters, at least in the first half. There was mostly a good plot development in the show, the whole figuring things out and surprise reveals added that teensy "now we are talking" element to the show.
The action was well done, all the fights were choreographed and executed flawlessly which coupled with my unchanging love for Kim Nam-gil & new found appreciation for Sung Joon aka Hong Sik was how I got through this mess of a series.
Now for the rest.
I was cringing during 80% of this series. The series was expected to follow in the first one's footsteps and have it's classic comic relief moments, but this definitely wasn't it. Most of the humour felt forced, the exaggerated expressions & over-acting bogged the characters down and random "funny moments" inserts just took away from the the plot. Even during important moments that could make/break the story, there was no stopping the scriptwriter & director combo and the actors from behaving like they are high on crack which absolutely ruined the impact. There was no room to connect with any character or feel angry/bad/sad or any other emotion during the show because of the overt amount of fun. Especially the musical in between, god that was long and horrible. It could have been so much more.
I wanted to see drama & justice and all i got were stupid theatrics from the travelling theatre troup, as Nam Du Heon rightly said.
