Anyone who understands Life's struggles should watch this
My mom raved about this drama and normally we don't have the same tastes, but I think what makes this show so great is that every generation will be able to appreciate the messages. This show doesn't shy away from exposing the ugly truths of human nature, but it also shows the touching side as well. We follow the lives of a close knit community in Jeju as they navigate through the struggles of life and their own emotional baggage.Likes: With a star studded cast, the acting from everyone felt very natural and heartfelt, but it was the less famous character actors such as Lee Jung Eun, Park Ji Hwan, and Choi Young Joon who really stood out in my eyes. They felt like the glue that made the community feel alive and real. What made this show stand out is that it was unapologetic about exposing the flaws of each character. It didn't try to glamorize or label a person as evil or nice. It just showed that no one is perfect and we do what we need to do in order to survive according to our experiences. This show knows how to poke those hidden truths, stir up emotions, and make us feel as if the character's emotions are our own. It was funny, sad, touching, and healing.
I have to mention one scene that made an impact on me. That emotional fight scene between Ji Hwan and his son.....I think anyone who has immigrant parents or parents who struggled to get by financially will be able to relate to the emotions in that scene. Ji Hwan's acting was amazing. He truly made it unforgettable in my mind due to his raw emotion.
Dislikes: Ok so I may have a little bias in this one since I'm not a huge fan of Lee Byung Hun so take it with a grain of salt, but I found his story line with Shin Mina really boring. This was the only storyline where I wanted to skip. I just couldn't connect and wasn't feelin the loveline. Also, I found having Woobin and Shin Mina in the same drama, but with different lovers distracting. It felt weird seeing LBH kiss SM, but then WB being all chummy with LBH in another scene. I know it's acting, but my mind would wander into that whole, dude that man just kissed your pregnant wife, etc...and I couldn't help notice the lack of a kiss in the WB loveline when I felt like there should have been. It's easier to forget someone has a real like significant other when they are not in the same drama, but having them in the same show was like a little reminder that kept distracting me from the story. But all in all, these are very small dislikes compared to the enjoyment overall.
Highly recommend checking this out if you like family dramas and are ready for some emotional ups and downs.

Good Enough
Korean Drama " Our Blues " is a multi charactered drama set in a small town. The drama manages to present and complete all stories, giving to each and one of them enough screen time and space to be proper developed, by appointing different episodes to them and without intertwining them together. That didn't overburden the drama with rushed plotlines, nor did it complicate things.
However, some of the stories were not as good as the others, as they were predictable and not as finely paced.
On the other hand, the performances were all great by everyone in the cast, as expected from an all star team.
So, overall, eight out of ten.

Blue Bliss
'Our Blues' a heart warming & wrenching (on some occasions) is surely one of the best slice-of-life pieces I have watched. It wasn't white washed with sugar, sweet & good moments ONLY. All of the stories in the series had it's down side/troubles/challenges and that was the beauty of the series. Even when few of the stories didn't get it's happy ending from one perspective it did get a happy ending from another perspective. Personally, this drama had everything from romance to heartbreak, from misunderstandings to forgiveness, from letting go to holding on all of it and in the perfect amount nothing felt overwhelmed at any instance of the series.OSTs of the drama deserve utmost attention By My Side by Taeyeon, Remember Me by Davichi, For Love by 10cm & With you
by Ha Sung-woon and Jimin are some of my favorites. The OSTs in this drama are cherries on the top.
This drama is a benchmark for coming slice-of-life dramas.

Amazing
I really, really enjoyed watching this! Believable, likeable, relatable characters, Great, relatable plots with some twists in them, you don't see coming! There's also a lot forshadowing some upcoming plot lines every now and then. Why is X behaving like this towards Y? What's up with Z?My one negative thing with this show is the final plot. It dragged on quite a lot! The scenery is beyond awesome, making you want to visit South Korea, but still, the final plot could have been a bit more to the point.

I love it!
I love this drama. It is very unique. I like the idea of telling the stories of all the residents of Pureung village on Jeju Island. This drama is very calm, comforting and heartwarming. It shows that everyone has their own problems and ways to deal with them. Not everyone is always honest and some just want to use us for their own benefit. After watching, it can be concluded that an honest conversation is always one of the most important things to achieve success in various relationships. And I am glad that it has been shown through various issues, relationships and people. This is a very important point.
Our Blues made me cry, laugh and feel many different emotions.
I highly recommend watching it.
I gave it so few points in the "rewatch value" category because personally I rarely go back to watching slice of life dramas again. It's still a 10/10 drama.

Just Great !!!!! Loved It
This drama to me was a, let your feelings out kind of a drama. I cry, laugh, was sad, angry, frustrated. All my emotion came out as we meet all the characters in this small town. As episodes went along I could relate to so many situations. As story of the characters are told so you get to know who they are and why they live the way they live. You start feeling like a member of the community. The life is hard but yet simple. They watch over each other and help each other. Even as you get to know some of the new characters that have not live long in the town, you see them taking them in and make them part of the community family. I fell in love with this drama. I hope you get to watch it. The acting is great, there performance brings you closer to each character. The ending was beautiful. I just love the stories and great direction. Was this review helpful to you?
Blues in various shades
A stonkingly good, multi layered story about life in a close community where many characters were childhood friends.Ups, downs, successes, failures, secrets, love, heartbreak, family, friends, regrets, dreams, forgiveness ~ it is all here.
I never got bored and loved how, whilst there were multiple stories connected to characters, there was a focus in each episode.
The tribulations of life that this series covered, were vast and highlighted issues rarely found in other dramas.
Depression, grudges, a husband beater, aging and pregnancy, to what really impressed me hugely, the challenges of living with and caring for someone with a disability.
The first actress / character I have ever seen in a K-drama, with Downs Syndrome. The prejudices and ignorance faced, in this day and age, which really exist, was shocking and heartbreaking to me. It both hurt me and made me so angry.
I sincerely hope that anyone with a warped attitude and stupidity towards this and other conditions, that watch it, will see how disgusting their behaviour is and educate themselves.
I laughed throughout and in the final episodes, cried. So moving.
Fabulous acting from the whole (GREAT) cast (the kids on it were SO good) and a soundtrack that fitted the style of the characters, their community and lives.
One I would highly recommend and would happily watch again.

BEST KDRAMA EVER!!
I’ve been watching K dramas for almost 10 years now, and I haven’t watched any thing as good as this show. each story has its own unique approach and they’re all in all we connect to each other. Every story was beautiful and realistic. They have tackled different social issues and explored them. The only reason why I wouldn’t watch it because the emotions that I felt, I felt every pain of every character so I don’t think I would want to feel that pain. But overall the acting and stories are 100Was this review helpful to you?

Down to earth stories that will touch your heart
I believe this drama achieved another milestone in storytelling for the drama land.It is incredible how realistic the portrayal of the characters is, and how touching this can be. 20 episodes made for a beautiful rollercoaster of emotions.
Thank you to everyone involved in making Our Blues, from the cast to the technical production, it was all incredibly well executed. Every story was properly developed. I can see you put your heart on it.
I wish more and more people can discover this drama. It is a masterpiece.

Wholesome indeed
It's just wholesome. They took the storyline, cast and the ost seriously I could tell. First three episodes only to focus on Eunhui and Hansu story, well, it's quiet draggy somehow. If someone telling you the show is boring and stuff. pls hang in there. Believe me you just gotta bear with first three episodes but the rest of it is just beautiful and well written. You won't regret it. It's just how omnibus kind of drama do the things. Although they could have start the drama with more engaging approach. The feeling right after you finished this drama, it's undescribeably wholesome. Yep, best drama so far in mid 2022.Was this review helpful to you?
A beautifully anthology
Hometown Cha Cha Cha was one of last year’s best K-Dramas depicting the trials and tribulations of a small village and its inhabitants, and Our Blues does the similar kind of thing this year. Our Blues is a 20 episode K-drama that essentially works as an anthological slice of life series. The different episodes are broken up into different two or three parters, following residents on Jeju Island as they go about their day. There are a fair amount of people living on this island, and the 20 episodes certainly help to give this show enough time to introduce everyone and tell their stories.
Aesthetically, Our Blues is just as impressive and part of that comes down to the beauty of Jeju Island. From breathtaking sunsets to sweeping establishing shots, this K-Drama makes the most of its lavish, paradisiac setting, and the series is all the stronger for it.
Although some of the narratives didn't quite hit the emotional highs as others, the bright spots outshone the shades of grey. This is a beautifully written Slice of Life drama, with good storytelling and show-stopping visuals.
My Rating : 8/10
