- It reminded me of Dylan Wang's most recent drama "Love Between Fairy and Devil" since he is playing these two roles of wanting power that they themselves achieved on their own
• Created their own tribe/nation in both dramas
- Dylan Wang's roles are both arrogant & egotistic people

- Dylan Wang's characters both keep the FL's next to them for their personal reasons
• Uses the FL as leverage for the other side, but the FL eventually wants to be by their side to help them; Wants to "kill" them (at first)

DIFFERENCE:
- In "Love Between Fairy and Devil", the drama is more fantasy due to the use of magic

It's a complicated revenge plot with two star crossed lovers who fall for each other despite the circumstances against them. A very grey and multilayered ML, and a dynamic FL. Amazing chemistry between them. Along with beautiful cinematography, strong writing, and great music, this drama is iconic.

In both these dramas, Male Lead is disguised as eunuchs to enter the palace.

Both are about the ML pretending to be a eunuch and becoming involved with the FL who eventually learns his secret.

Nothing similar, actually. Unchained Love can actually be used as a refresher if you are tired of this damsel in distress trope which is annoyingly used in MTD lol ?
Here, our male lead has a more layered character while the female lead acts dumb and naive but is actually really smart!

Dramatically different plots but similar kind of vibe.

Unchained Love is about a eunich falling for one of the King's consorts. He is the head of the palace's soldiers that is very talented and determined. She is a consort for the previous king that was sent into the palace and meant to die when the King did but was saved because the King has an obsession with her that she does not return.

Everlasting Longing is a push and pull romance between two smart and strong individuals on opposite political lines. He is the expected next ruler for one side while she is the heir of one of the most influential families on the other.

Both dramas will leave you frustrated pretty frequently and neither female will top your list of favorite characters. But the kisses and romances are done fairly well.

Both MLs are fake head eunuchs who have entered the palace in order to get revenge for their family, and have a fierce reputation. Both dramas have a royal princess/empress who is obsessed with the ML.

Both MLs are out for revenge and disguise as eunuchs in order to accomplish their goals. They rescue the FL and she ends up living with them.

Both MLs are posing as their dead, identical twin brother who was a eunuch in order to stay in the palace and investigate their deaths. The FLs learn their secret.

-The ML has a high political position like Shen Du.
-He secured that position just to avenge the death of his younger brother.

I am getting vibes of Jeremy Tsui’s characterization of the ML in The Autumn Ballad. Both MLs appear to be ruthless and power hungry but they are actually working to enact revenge. They protect the FL but seemingly unwillingly. The interaction between leads are similar. The FL is smart in both dramas but masks her intellect due to family upbringing and her role within.
