Very realistic and heartwarming.
In the beginning, i thought it would be a fluffy romance with a typical happily ever after, but I was so wrong.I really liked Bo Ra's character, the way she followed her best friend's crush and how much she cared for her to the point of letting go Woon Ho, whom she liked.
On the other hand, I think Woon Ho was the best of all. I loved his expressions, the sadness and longing in his eyes. Especially, the breakdown scene under the rain and his side story of how he met Bo Ra.
The ending was 'okay'.
Because not every relationship can have a happily ever after, it is the reality, but again thinking about Woon Ho, it was very sad, even though the friends found their happiness except the main couple..

I liked how the storyline was clean, simple and straight to the point! Not much conflict, nor unnecessary drama just the way a summer high school movie vibes should feel.
The plot was great from start to middle but towards the end, it felt lacking and a bit rushed. Some of the details weren't given to us, i'm guessing the writer intended that for us to conclude on our own?
The casting was great too! The story out worked well even just by revolving the story around the four characters.
Kim Yoo Jung was perfect for the role, and looking at the two boys, i'm just squealing!
Overall, 20th Century Girl was able to deliver with the setting and made us feel exactly what a high school crush and first love feels like (wanting to know more about the person, stalking, sneaking looks, etc.). 2 hours for a good movie like this is so short I was hoping we get to see them live and enjoy their high school days more! T_T

This movie really take’s me back to think about my first love 💕. And make me think about my school experiences. It me reminiscing about the things I’ve been through in my time at school, and also my friendsI really enjoy this movie and I watched so many times again and again. I love Kim yoo jung so much her acting draws your attention to watch the movie 💕❤️💜
Keep up the good work Kim yoo Jung.. and God bless you❤️💕💜 I also think all the casting crew were so amazing and they done an excellent job with the movie.
I hope that Kim yoo jung and Byeon Woo-seok will be casting again with another drama with happy ending.

OH HOW BEAUTIFULLY SAD!!
THIS MOVIE WAS BEYOND AMAZING GUYS!!! There were many lessons from this movie, times when I laughed so loud my sister asked if I'm crazy. Swoon-worthy moments that had me screaming and slapping my thigh which made my sister also second guess if I'm actually sane (I promise I am lol), and moments where I absolutely forgot that this is a movie. I loved the acting!!!! The OST, the actors, the different themes displayed, and I could go on. I had hoped for a happy ending for both characters, but we can't always get what we want. However, I LOVEDDDD THE ENDING NONETHELESS. I highly recommend watching this movie. Forget about the happy ending for a while, and just watch how beautiful they portrayed this movie!! I'll end with this."Wait just a bit longer. I'll go see you. I want to see you, Bo-ra of the 21st century."

A movie which breaks your heart
One of the best movies I have ever seen.I couldn't sleep the whole night after watching it, but they could have deserved a happy ending.
The acting ........
it was great. All of them deserve it.
I am sure that I can't get over the movie soon.
It has a bittersweet ending and of course, it would have been wonderful if it would have turned out differently.[only the end]
One of the heart breaking scene was the LETTER scene.
She'll never know whats inside that letter.

My fellows I rarely write a review EVER, but this movie deserves one....
If I am saying that I have not cried that much in 5-7 years then I really mean it.I am not talking bout light flakey tears, I am talking bout sobbing, non stop rivers of tears.
So if you are down for a emotional ride and a good cry. Here you go.
Got this movie recommended and thought it would be fun to watch as a time killer. Oh boy was I wrong.
The main and side characters are all so pure, innocent, genuine and kind-hearted.
I love it the most, when people are considerate, understanding and patient. This movie was the definition of it.
The story is so natural and refreshing, the actors and actresses. MY GOD. THEIR ACTING.... M-A-S-T-E-R-P-I-E-C-E!
It is a true delight and I am very grateful for the director and everyone involved in this movie, because it might be my favorite movie in maybe 4 years? Everything is a built up of a perfect end result.
I finished it 10 minutes ago and my feelings are still very raw and I aam still slightly overwhelmed.
It literally awakened so many feelings I have not felt in a long time.
I just read that many people rated it relatively lowly, because of the ending.
But guys honestly the ending is maybe 10 minutes of the whole movie.
There are 1h and 50min left to enjoy fully, which are so worth it.
Idk if you can even call it a review, but this is what I felt and I think I should share it with you guys.
If you are down for an emotional awakening, this movie is IT! Especially when you have been very numb for a long time.
If you have plans later that day and want to meet friends after the movie I totally not recommend. Your eyes will be very red and you will feel MANY emotions.

Its 2am and im bawling my eyes out. I dont think im physically and mentally able to sleep after this
I went couldn't sleep, so i decided to watch a movie instead. This movie had been on my "to watch" list for a while, so i decided to watch this, thinking it would be a cute highschool romcom. Now it's 2 am and I'm bawling my eyes out. When I tell you it felt like my stomach sank.At first I was scared the main couple would be between Bo Ra and Hyun Jin. I really hoped that Bo Ra would go for Woon Ho. So I was so happy when I found out I was right. Their chemistry is just everything.
Although the miscommunication between Bo Ra and Yeon Doo was so darn frustrating, I think it really improved the story. Im just never a fan of miscommunication, which sounds pretty obvious, but i just get so frustrated when things go wrong because of it.
I also want to say that I truly love Bo Ra's character. I love how she is not the girly girly type and i really love how well athletic she is. I just basically love everything about her.
Now for the last point, as i said before, it's 2am as im writing this and as i just finished watching. So everyone is asleep. For someone who normally watches cute scene with giggling and feetkicking, overreacting is something i always do. So for me to not be able to react to the moment I found out Woon Ho died, let's say i also died with him. My cheeks were like waterfalls, my stomach was in a rollercoaster, but i wasn't able to make any sound.
I am not okay.

kdrama writers really said 2022 is the year to cry
Everybody was literally crying in the reviews when it came out so I was like okay I'll give it a try. And the first half of the movie everything was pretty nice and cute but then the second half came and then that's where I saw that this is going to be an emotional roller coaster. In all caps 'WHY DID THE MALE LEAD HAVE TO DIE WHY COULDN'T IT BE A HEA FOR BOTH OF THEM!!!' Overall I absolutely love the plot, I fell in love with the characters. I would definitely watch this again even though it'll probably make me cry.Was this review helpful to you?

It's cute, straight to the point and heartfelt.This Bora's love story, I either love it and hate it, love it for how this obviously gave me dokidoki feelings and I hate it in some parts where Bora tried to buried her feelings for the sake of friendship.
So, I just think this is well done, hit the right spots, enjoyable.
I never watch Kim Yoojung in K-drama but I've watched/finished a varshow called "Young Actor's Retreat" few weeks ago, I loved her there, so It's nice to see her here.

The more I progressed, the more I enjoyed it, I really didn't get bored at any time in the movie, the actors are very good at their work, I could feel somewhat identified with Bora, I also loved the retro setting, especially the camera effect.The message about friendship, love, honesty, selflessness, trust, suffering and more is very well represented and beautiful. I cried too much at the end, I didn't expect it ! ♡

Heartbreaking.
Cried a lot. I thought maybe people were overreacting but it really just is that sad. If you don't want to cry don't watch this. The story and everything was very good but I wish it could've ended happier. There was so much potential for it to be perfect. The leads were so cute together. Ending was bad due to it being a sad ending, still happy I watched but I'll truly never recover from this, I'm so incredibly sad right now after watching this. If you like cute romance melodramas with horrible sad endings you'll probably like this, I'm still so sad.Was this review helpful to you?
