I truly enjoyed this drama, the acting was excellent, the music added depth, and the chemistry between the main couple was captivating. Dilraba brought Nie Julou to life perfectly: fierce and independent on the outside, yet tender and vulnerable within. Yan Tuo complemented her beautifully, always offering his strength, support, and protection when she needed it most. Together, they were outstanding throughout. The story, however, felt a bit uneven: slow in the middle but rushed toward the end. There were so many unanswered questions, especially about the earth fiends, Lin Xirou, Xing Shen, and the rest of the Southern Mountain Hunters team. The ending felt abrupt and left too much unresolved, which made it feel somewhat empty. I truly hope they release a second season to continue the story and give us a more complete conclusion, because ending it this quickly doesn’t do justice to the world they built. One more aspect that felt out of place was how the fiends seemed to overpower the hunters in almost every way. Their strength and abilities made the hunters look pitiful and even embarrassing at times. The fiends, having learned to live among humans, were portrayed as far more intelligent, adopting modern techniques and strategies, while the hunters remained stuck in their overly ritualized, old-fashioned methods. In a sense, it made sense that the fiends adapted quickly to human life and used modern approaches to their advantage as they were still learning about humans and gradually adopted to human's new way of life, but it also highlighted how conservative and limited the hunters appeared in comparison. While I wouldn’t call it the best drama, it’s definitely one worth re-watching.

A Beautiful and Refreshing Love Story

Love on the Turquoise Land is a heart–warming romance set in stunning landscapes that truly elevate the story. The chemistry between the leads feels natural and genuine, making every moment between them enjoyable to watch. The drama balances romance, comedy, and emotional scenes very well. The cultural elements and beautiful cinematography make it even more special. Overall, it’s a refreshing and sweet drama that leaves you with a smile!

QUICK TAKE ON LOTTL

When I think about Love on the Turquoise Land, the first thing that hits me is how layered the storyline feels. It builds this eerie atmosphere where myth and reality slowly bleed into each other. At times, the pacing drags a little, but honestly that slow burn is what makes the reveals land harder.
The acting really carries it. Dilraba as Nie Jiu Luo nails that balance of vulnerability and strength — you can feel her fear but also her stubborn courage. Chen Xingxu as Yan Tuo has this obsessive energy that makes you both root for him and worry about him. Their chemistry is what keeps the emotional core alive, even when the plot gets heavy.

Casting overall feels spot‑on. The leads fit their roles perfectly, and the supporting cast adds texture. The directing was wise in adapting to the novel. The team leaned hard into shadows and Moody atmosphere. You get the sense that every frame is meant to feel haunted, like the past is always pressing in. As a whole, the drama works because it blends myth, romance, and betrayal into something that feels both ancient and modern. It’s not perfect but the performances and the atmosphere make it memorable.

Chinesse Drama of this year…I love this drama. This drama is different from the others. This drama has a very good impression on me. Reba and Chen Xing Xu did a very good acting. Love this …. In terms of story, this drama is different from other dramas. Basically, I really like it. This drama also proves Dilraba Dilmurat's increasingly mature acting talent.

I’m really going to miss my hunters. This story was incredible to follow, and seeing my faves (Dilireba and Xingxu) together was everything. The cast and production team did an outstanding job
It was such a different kind of story, something we hadn’t seen in a while. I loved how the fight scenes caught me off guard and how the plot kept unfolding
I’m so much happier knowing Dili and Xing are now mutuals on Weibo

A lightweight experience with untapped potential

Without a doubt, the first impact of this drama is the visual appeal of the couple: Dilraba is gorgeous and Chen Xingxu is also very handsome. Their chemistry on screen is undeniable and is one of the strengths of the drama. I especially liked that, without romance being the main plot, their relationship developed in a subtle, natural, and organic way, which gave the story an authentic feel.

The overall tone of the drama is light and fast-paced, perfect for watching without feeling weighed down. However, this is where the “buts” begin. The promising supernatural premise—the demons of the earth, their origin, and their transformation into humans—felt like a huge missed opportunity. It lacked more exploration, mystery, and even more horror. This crucial part of the mythology remained unclear and underdeveloped, leaving the viewer with more questions than answers.

On the positive side, I highlight the humanization of Lin Xi Rou, the main antagonist. It was a good move to show her motivations and, above all, how she managed to develop a genuine, albeit maternal, feeling towards Yan Tuo. I would also have enjoyed exploring more about the life and rules of the hunters' world.

Unfortunately, the ending accentuated all the script problems. The final battle was disappointingly anticlimactic (“That's it? That's how it all ends?”), leaving a feeling of haste and plot holes. One device that I found completely unnecessary was the amnesia of the protagonist, Nie Jiu Luo, in the final chapters. Instead of tying up loose ends, it raised more questions. My favorite character, Xing Sheng, who was so multi-layered and fascinating, received an abrupt and insubstantial ending, wasting all his potential.

In short, “Love in the Turquoise Lands” is a different kind of drama to watch to pass the time, with a couple of cool, charming protagonists and a brisk pace. However, it falls short in the development of its main plot, its mythology, and the closure of its characters, leaving the frustrating feeling that it could have been so much better.

Recommended if you're looking for a light sci-fi story, but go in with low expectations regarding the depth of its supernatural plot and its resolution.

The Drama is so perfectly my taste who like suspense genre

The drama, the storyline, the pace, the suspense, the actors and actresses, the cinematography, the music, everyone's acting is so natural, and everything is just on point... I like this drama so much and can't wait for next episodes ... This drama is so exciting and addictive, everyday I'm waiting for 6PM to watch this drama. I never been this enthusiast for a drama. This Drama is just perfectly my taste who like suspense genre... And especially because I've been a fan of Dilraba Dilmurat for a long time... Idk why people don't like the dark genre. The way idk either why I don't like the romance genre... I just kinda like romance only if it's a side story, not the focus of the plot... Eh, it just feels so cringey for me to watch lovey-dovey thingy 🤢 I like Reba, but I barely finish her full romance drama... The long Ballad is the only thing (her contained romance drama) I ever finish, a light romance is fine, I hope I can finish this 1 too hehe... Give it a chance to watch for few episodes and you'll addicted to watch next episodes!!!

Mesmerizing sceneries, storyline and casts

The thing I liked the most about this drama is the mystery behind the transformation of the earth fiends into human beings, and I find it amusing how they learn how to imitate human characteristics by living with them under close kinship. Secondly, the action part in the series was really thrilling as we got to see the peak of the war between the humanoid fiends and the humans, which, in my opinion, is very worth it. Thrilling, the cast is well selected as it has been a while since I've watched Dilraba engage in action series like the long ballad and Chen Xing Xu as well. The actress I'm fanning over is Zhang Li, as her acting skills and the way she carries herself in the series have really captivated me. She's so pretty, and I can't just stop admiring her despite her playing the villain. This is my first time watching her drama, and I'm really amazed.

However, I feel like the plot on the fiends should have been expanded, as it has an even greater potential to be developed further.

Overall, I recommend this series as it has a great thriller and mystery plotline.

Not your normal drama!

Love on the Turquoise Land is a captivating Chinese drama that blends romance, historical intrigue, where actors showcase gorgeous visuals. This is not for the faint of heart though. The drama pulls viewers into a roller coaster of emotions, cultural differences, and complex relationships and beliefs. One of the most striking features of this drama is its cinematography. It has the feel of a real movie. Dilraba and Chen Xingxu are bursting with chemistry on first few episodes. I specifically love their first scene on her bedroom.

Im looking forward how the rest of the story goes.
