Watchable
I'm not familiar with any of the actors here. Watched this just out of boredom because there was nothing else to watch from Youku anymore. Storywise, it gave me Reborn Rich vibes at the start with similar adopted son battling with other family members for inheritance/family business and then someone tries to kill him. The difference is Ma Rulong lost his memory while Song Joong Ki went back in time. Can't say much for the acting since the story didn't call for much drama. There were some frustrating parts and fillers that I actually skipped and fast-forwarded. As for romance, it was close to almost zero 😅 No chemistry between them at all! I like how both the FL and ML were smart people though except for when FL was almost scammed by a fake fengshui master.Overall, it's something not worth rewatching but good enough if there's nothing else to do and just pass the time.

Suitable for Yang Yang fans
I enjoyed this series because I'm a huge Yang Yang fan. It's all about Han Li's journey, his smartness and strategies on his way to achieving his goal of becoming an immortal. I loved his character, although he seemed like a robot at times. He doesn't have much in the way of emotions at all. It was all about his determination to reach his goal. Thus, this series doesn't draw out any emotions for viewers as well. The songs and graphics were great. The other cast members were all lackluster except for Ms. Mo. Clearly, they put Gina in the poster just for the sake of putting her there. She wasn't a main character at all. Also, she looked a lot like BB Gandanghari hahaha! The sect elders were so annoying. They didn't seem like they deserved to be called elders at all. They all acted silly and stupid. Even when there was "war" going on, there was no sense of urgency from them. There was more talking instead of actual fighting. This made the show somewhat boring as a lot of other viewers complained. The ending was a bit of a disappointment. The first half of the ending was so unexpected and too much talking again. The second half made up for it somewhat. It ends with the caption "end of season 1" so I guess there will be another season coming up. I hope they improve on it based on the reviews. Was this review helpful to you?

Not impressed
Started out really great and the concept is something new for a C-drama, but it faltered halfway thru. There were some loopholes and seems to me the writers were lazy or maybe they thought the audience wouldn't mind not using their brains. It's a 2025 modern drama and yet the fiends were the only ones who used a bit of tech, which was not enough too. The hunters, being the protagonists, were sadly a group of arrogant amd complacent losers who didn't use any tech and all they did were useless ceremonies/rituals without any strategizing or even planning before they go on missions. Plus, they were not recruiting enough members at all. It was also unclear how they got all those nice cars without any source of livelihood except posing as a mountain rescue team. Jiang and Xing Chen were not good leaders, keeping secrets from their team and not discussing all things with them. Plus, Jiang had the chance to escape with YanTuo but he stupidly chose to be a captive for what? Another irritating factor is that suddenly when they went back to the gate to look for Luo, the fiends and other earth demons didn't attack, which is out of character and the writers just conveniently made it like that. For Luo to survive a sword going thru her body like that was just too fantastical too. Xing Chen was right in doing experiments and research and I felt like it would've been a more meaningful story if they had delved into it further. Locust was suddenly out of the picture and they didn't make use of that angle at all or maybe they were saving that for season 2 if there is? The question is, would I want to watch season 2? I'll have to think about it.Was this review helpful to you?
A refreshing love story
I nearly dropped this after watching the 1st episode halfway because it was off to a boring start, and I'm glad I continued it! The story is unique with a lot of good lines, and I learned a lot about love and life through this drama. This drama doesn't have the usual cliches I love how mature and level-headed the characters are. This is how people in relationships should be.Was this review helpful to you?
LIght and easy
There's nothing new in this drama, but it's light and easy. It's the classic case of poor girl meets rich boy then mother with love rival try to tear them apart. The nice thing though is how realistically it's done. There's no exaggerrated stuff. No crazy stuff. It's all so subtle. I like that both love rivals were not lunatics and accepted their fates graciously. Plus, Zhao Lu Si, as always, is such a good actress and the role fits her really well. However, the last few episodes leading to the ending were so frustrating. Suddenly, FL becomes stupid and so naive. If it were not for the mature and smart ML, this would've been a disaster. The ending saved the day and everything wrapped up well. Was this review helpful to you?

Good enough to watch
Not particularly a fan of Xianxia dramas. I watched this because of Bai Lu. Can't say I liked it, but didn't dislike it either. The storytelling became messy halfway through. I lost count how many times they stabbed each other, killed each other, died and came alive again. You've gotta throw all logic when watching dramas like this where some characters can die so easily while others are just too hard to kill. Siling and Dazheng looked great together as a couple but I didn't feel any emotions or felt connected to them in any way. I would still recommend it to be watched but not the best drama out there for me.Was this review helpful to you?
Depressing
Wanted to drop it midway through the first episode but decided to give it another chance because of all the reviews rating this as a "10." The story is depressing and though there was humor, but it didn't really make me laugh. I breezed through the episodes hoping it will all come to an end fast. Glad there were only 8 episodes as I couldn't stand any more. I actually fast forwarded through the last two episodes just wanting to see how it ended. Was this review helpful to you?

Great love story
My first time watching Zu'er and took some getting used to. First four episodes were bland and initially didn't like FL. They've only just met and she didn't really have any feelings for ML but she insisted on marrying him, which didn't make sense to me. Things started to make sense by the fifth episode and it was then that I understood why everyone loved this drama. FL was smart and wise. Misunderstandings were always cleared up immediately and I love how they handled their conflicts maturely. Loved how Wei Yan didn't turn out to be an enemy like it usually does in other dramas with the same kind of character. I kind of got confused at the last episode when after killing Liu Yan the scene was suddenly transitioned into the future and felt like they tried to squeeze it all in because they didn't want to extend to another episode. All in all, a unique and great love story👍Was this review helpful to you?

I'm sorry but I didn't like it
Started this with high expectations considering how people were raving about it and some even rewatched it 7x. First 10 episodes were good but went downhill from there. The reason I would continue to watch this is solely because of Arthur Chen. He was the only one carrying the whole drama. Female lead was such a weak character and I disliked her. While watching in Youku, I could read comments about her and some people liked her and some people didn't. The whole story was too long and just felt dragging. Found myself fastforwarding and cringing from some too-sweet scenes where ML just goes out of his original character and becomes the loveydovey loser dude. Sorry but I dropped it.Was this review helpful to you?

Almost liked it
First few episodes were not stellar but because of the female lead's unique character and my fetish for strong female leads, I proceeded to watch and found it entertaining in the first half. Inconsistencies started piling up halfway through. I mean, how could an amazing couple like the Princess Royal and General Ban have produced such a stupid son like Marquis Jingting? Also, how did the female lead become a more responsible, smart and sensible person under a father like that? Same parents but her brother is just as useless and stupid like their father. And the most laughable part is that the emperor wanted to promote someone as stupid as Marquis Jingting as the Deputy Prime Minister! Futhermore, I hate dramas where there's a clingy obsessive second female lead/villain. As typical as it gets, of course the villains always get away with evil things they do just to make the show longer. And so I decided to drop it.Was this review helpful to you?
One of the best dramas ever
Came across this while searching for a Leo Wu drama to watch and didn't expect much since i've never heard anyone mention it before. It's mainly a story about the early days of esports and how it evolved into a national sport. It shows the struggles of those who were into esports early on and how they didn't give up, paving the way for the development of the industry. At the same time, it's a story about friendship and family. It's a beautiful story of how two people from different time periods came to have a beautiful friendship with the writers brilliantly weaving the past and present together seamlessly. It's both funny, heartwarming, and definitely a tear-jerker. This drama is a hidden gem!Was this review helpful to you?

The best drama I've watched
I've watched more than a hundred dramas and this is one of the best! If there's a score more than 10 stars I would definitely score this higher. Love both the main leads who have a good head over their shoulders. Story is flawlessly written and coudn't find any fault with it. No typical cold guy syndrome or hate turned to love cliche story. Everything just flowed smoothly into place. All the bad characters got what they deserved. Villains killing each other was an ingenius idea. Hope there will be more dramas like this. Was this review helpful to you?

Worth watching
I watched this mainly because of Johnny Huang; he has a lot of good dramas. True enough, I wasn't disappointed watching this but rated it a low re-watch value because there's no point in rewatching when I already know who the villains will be. At first I didn't even think there would be hidden villains at all! What I liked:
1) Loved the main lead's character - smart, good fighter, upright, warmhearted without being a pushover
2) Raises awareness for the harmful effects of drugs and human trafficking
3) The surprising twists in the story
What I didn't like:
1) There is always this one character in dramas that talk too much, is silly and loud and he is present here
2) A loophole with villains wearing body armor but the police are not? Also, they don't have guns to protect themselves with.
3) The main lead's family being the family of a police officer do not care about their safety at all and act carelessly. They would all be dead and used to threaten the main lead in reality.

Worth watching
It's a bit similar to The Tale of Rose, albeit a faster-paced one. The speed with which she changes boyfriends is faster too and is quite disturbing. But at least in the end, she did make the right choice and maybe learned from her mistakes. Inspiring drama especially for young women. Was this review helpful to you?
