Cute and funny with...quirks

I absolutely loved the main couple! I did expect more romance, but I didn't really mind, because their hilarious banter made up for it. They gave off major best friend energy, which was the only thing that held me up, because they got together at the very end.
Their relationship era felt really rushed, but I still think the ending was done well, at least better than most modern cdramas I've watched.

Now, for the side characters:
The 2nd lead couple were really cute, and I truly enjoyed the 2nd female lead, especially her friendship with the FL.
Here is where I have an issue: the 3rd lead couple. I just didn't like them at all, and it felt like we were excusing straight-up stalking and harassment. I have a big issue with that, and honestly, whenever they showed up on my screen, I just pressed skip.

I recommend just watching the main lead couple and skipping almost everything else. I didn't even find the plot that engaging.

Fireworks Took Their Own Sweet Time!!!!

Love Has Fireworks is one of those dramas that starts by quietly lighting a match, then eventually turns into a proper fireworks display. It is not perfect, but it is a fun and enjoyable watch.

The story itself is good, although the first several episodes felt a little padded. At times it seemed like scenes were added simply to make the episode count look respectable. Once the plot settled into its stride, it became much more engaging and the pacing improved.

The female lead is one of my favourites, so I was already biased before pressing play. Thankfully she did not disappoint. She once again delivered a natural, warm performance with just the right amount of charm and emotional depth. She makes even ordinary moments enjoyable to watch.

The male lead surprised me the most. I have always liked him, although he has never made my personal "sexy list." I was honestly a little hesitant because I had not really seen him carry a role with this much comedy before. Well, I happily stand corrected. He absolutely nailed it. His comedic timing became one of the highlights of the drama, and as the episodes went on he completely grew on me in this role. His emotional scenes were equally convincing. Stellar acting from both leads.

The chemistry worked well, although if you are hoping they become a couple early, you will need some patience. Their relationship really gets moving around the early thirties in the episode count, so this is definitely a slow simmer rather than an instant spark.

Now, before anyone says there are no misunderstandings or breakup drama, let's be realistic. There are misunderstandings, and some of them are stretched a little further than they probably needed to be. They are not painfully frustrating, but they are there, so I would not call this a misunderstanding free drama.

My biggest pet peeve was the number of romances happening all at once. It sometimes felt like everyone except the office furniture had their own love story. Personally, I prefer the main couple to stay the main attraction, with perhaps one secondary romance if it genuinely adds humour or strengthens the friendships. Here, the romantic spotlight occasionally wandered a little too much.

Production quality was solid throughout. The cinematography looked polished, the sets were attractive, and everything had a bright, comfortable feel that suited the story. Nothing flashy, just consistently well made.

The soundtrack fit the mood nicely without trying to steal the show. It complemented the emotional and lighter moments well, even if none of the songs ended up permanently living on my playlist.

Overall, Love Has Fireworks is an easy, entertaining watch with lovable leads, strong performances, plenty of laughs, and enough heart to keep you invested. It is not trying to reinvent the romantic comedy wheel, but it rolls along comfortably and does its job well.

Final verdict. Come for the female lead. Stay because the male lead quietly sneaks up on you and steals the show. Just be prepared to share the romance with what feels like half the supporting cast.

A slow-burn comedy. Watch if in need of a mood boost :)

This show wasn’t originally on my watch list but I’m glad I watched it. It’s an easy watch. Genuinely funny and heart warming! Exactly what I needed to lift my mood amongst the mysterious and heart-wrenching historical c-dramas I’m watching .

What I liked;
- The female lead grows into a girl boss and I love that for her.
- The male lead’s character is hilarious 🤣 his acting is great. I look forward to seeing him in dancing with the tide which is so different to his character here so it’ll be interesting to watch. I have watched him in love me, love my voice but I personally like his character here more. It’s like his made for this kind of melodramatic and comedic character.
- it’s my first time watching wang chu ran in a drama from start to end. I tried watching overdo and fireworks of my heart (what’s up with them loving fireworks in titles?) but I like her funny character here. I’ve seen snippets of how dare you and I feel she also plays the comedic character’s well.
- The chemistry is cute and realistic. The love between them is not crazy. It’s simply being in the same place together, supporting each other and cooking lots of food lol. Simple but very fitting for the storyline and a nice contrast to the big business stuff.
- I love that the second female lead and her fiancé get back together. I think it would been too much on top of the female lead breaking up with her boyfriend too
- I love that the male lead’s ex and the female girl boss start a company together. It was nice to see unexpected connections between different characters

What you may not like:
- its a slow burn. Very. They only get together in ep 34. However I do feel this is compensated by the cute moments we get of them together since they live in the same place. I personally didn’t mind it too much because of this.
- I can’t lie, the business talk was too much for me 🤣 i was basically ma li when li yifei was explaining stuff to him. I really wonder, if I was in the same industry would I really understand what they’re are talking about or do they just make it up 😭😂
- the ai ex-bf face. His eyes are just so off. IT’S SOOOOOO BAAAAAD 😭😭 I hate it so much. I guess fitting off his annoying character 😂
- the female lead is always getting in trouble in like the first half and he comes to save her. I do understand this can be annoying but he also knows she’s capable and she does grow
-Jun’s mother was honestly so annoying butting into her son’s relationship constantly. I’m glad it turned out well for them but she was annoying. The side couple’s weren’t the best in comparison to other dramas perhaps but I did like the friendship between the three females and how they all have different personalities so we get to see different types of relationships.

I wanted to add something about the female lead’s boss. I think deep down she did have good intentions but went down a wrong path. I think she really did like Qian Fei and wanted her to grow and I also feel like she helped her and li yifei get together since she told qian fei to keep being his assistant and to learn from him. It’s like she knew Qian Fei could do better than her ex ai bf 😂

Sometimes Love Is Just Quietly Showing Up

Love Has Fireworks reminded me that love isn't always loud or dramatic. Sometimes it grows quietly through everyday moments, shared struggles, and unwavering trust.

The female lead never compromised her values. She chose to live honestly, stayed optimistic despite hardships, and never hesitated to help others, even at the cost of her own comfort. The male lead, who initially admired her, slowly fell in love—not because she changed for him, but because she inspired him to see the world differently and become a better version of himself.

What I loved most was their chemistry. As roommates, they struggled to understand whether what they felt was love or simply care, making their relationship feel natural and relatable. But the male lead's quiet acts of kindness truly stood out. He always helped her behind the scenes, never asking for recognition, casually saying, "It's already taken care of," as if it were nothing.

To me, that's what made this drama special. Love isn't about grand gestures; it's about being someone's peace, silently standing beside them, and making them feel they never have to face life alone.

Better than I thought

TLDR: This is good :).

Has been looking for a good rom com for a long time and found this gem. Actually saw the trailer a while back and during that time I've watched How Dare You and really liked Wang Churan so wanted to give this a try. But at that time it wasn't released yet and tbh the trailer didn't really captivate me. Plus the ML and the cast is quite foreign to me so i eventually forgot about this.

Recently started to look for a good rom com again and finally decided to give this a try. And i am glad i did! It turned out to be the kind of rom com i like with a bit of fluffy-ness.

Story/plot: Probably nothing new and has probably been done many times. It's your typical ML and FL had misunderstandings from the beginning and somehow dislikes each other. But yet are forced to deal with each other daily and eventually become friends, and eventually falls in love.

I will say the bread and butter in this drama is the interactions and scenes between the ML and FL. But surrounding that is also a lot of plots, etc related to their work. Like the investments, etc. I've seen some people dislike it, but i personally didn't mind it.

Cast: It's my first time watching Tian Jian Ci. I usually have a hard time with unfamiliar faces in dramas. But i grew to really like him as i watched the drama. I see some people comment that he carried the drama with his acting, etc and i kind of agree. His acting was really good and a pleasure to watch. I really hope to see him in more dramas and roles like this.

For the supporting casts, tbh some of them was a bit annoying and hard to watch at the beginning, so i mostly skipped them. Especially scenes with Jun Cheng and Dang Yu. He was just a very annoying character in the beginning. But eventually he grew up and it was later quite pleasant to watch them.

Otherwise in general the other supporting casts are good and quite liked watching them. For example Yao Jing Jing and Lu Ze. And even Fang Yun and Liao Shi Yu.

Won't mention the FL since i liked her before i watched the show.

Rating: I will give this a solid 7.5. I will say i am giving this a bit of a lower score, not because it's not good, but because of different factors like story/plots, etc I don't think this deserves an 8+. But I will say this was a very pleasant watch and I would rather watch this than a lot of dramas rated 8+.

Highly recommend it

I love JC-T, and he didn't disappoint with this one. He can do both funny and serious roles brilliantly. First time watching Wang Chu Ran as the lead and I liked her too.

The story started out quite the typical way with a lot of "chance" enounters that certainly were too unrealistic. I didn't expect much from the start. But when they started living together after breaking up their individual relationships, things became interesting. The flow of of the story and how they gradually grew on each other and helped each other was well written. I didn't expect there'd be villains among the characters around them though. There was no buildup of backstories on them. Didn't really understand why they did the things they did. Let's just say they were only put there to complicate the main leads' lives a little. Usually, the other side characters' stories are just fillers for a drama but this one didn't feel like it. I liked the second and third couples. Jun's story showed that being a mama's boy was not necessarily a bad thing. His mom was so cool and funny! She definitely stole the show for this segment. One more thing I love in this drama is the OST. The lyrics "你,你,你" definitely got stuck in my head and I'm sure it'll get stuck on yours too😁

Dropped at episode 10

The reason I'm reviewing this despite dropping it early, is because I spoiled it for myself and looked into the whole drama plot, which ultimately made me decide not to continue.

I really wanted to enjoy Love Has Fireworks because it had that nostalgic 2020–2022 C-drama vibe, and the comedy was genuinely enjoyable. The leads' bickering and chemistry were probably the best part of the drama. However, I feel like comedy was carrying the entire show.

My biggest issue is the pacing, the drama has 36 episodes but the main couple only get together in episode 34, which imo is too dragged. By episode 10, Li Yifei had already admitted to his best friend that he had fallen for the landlady, so knowing that their relationship development takes that long completely put me off. In addition, Li Yifei and Qian Fei were cute, but sometimes their interactions felt overly childish and unrealistic. I also heard the story relies heavily on exes and misunderstandings later on, which is something I personally dislike.

The side couples also didn't help. Dangyu and Jun Cheng's dynamic felt extremely weird to me, especially Jun Cheng's behaviour, and I couldn't understand why they received so much screen time. Jingjing and Lu Ze also didn't interest me, especially the ring misunderstanding, which made their whole entire relationship seem extremely unhealthy. Additionally, jingjing seemed too controlling at some point which was quite annoying.

Overall, it had potential, but the pacing and unnecessary drama made me lose interest. Also, I still can't believe the production team looked at one of the exes' AI-looking crap and thought it was acceptable to release it because I genuinely couldn't take those scenes seriously. 😭

A Thoroughly Worthy Watch

With an engaging narrative and convincing performances from both the main and supporting cast, this series humorously exposes the flaws of traditional gender roles and the complexities of marriage and career—a thoroughly worthy watch.
It struck me as inconceivable that the series was delayed because of allegations that were not proven to be true. The scenes with the AI were awkward at best but the rest of the series was quite interesting to watch.

Easy to knock

This drama almost never made it to air. Besides losing its original producer, it also faced issues involving the second male lead, who was reportedly caught up in a tax-related controversy (if I remember correctly). It came with very little promotion and didn't have the advantage of being a highly anticipated release.

The story itself is light, easy to follow, and perfect for watching during dinner or when you're looking for something relaxing. It can be described as an enemies-to-lovers trope, although they're not really enemies in the strict sense.

Throughout the drama, the male lead can be quite frustrating at times. He grew up privileged and spoiled, which often causes the female lead a lot of stress and emotional exhaustion. As for the female lead, she is rather timid and often struggles to stand up to the people who mistreat her. Because of this, she sometimes comes across as weak, even though her behavior is largely shaped by her circumstances and personality.
but overall acting both of them is good, if not bcs their acting this drama would end up low rate

Should been a shorter drama

Thae only good thing i can say was the leads had good chemistry the storyline was good however this drama did not need to be 36 episodes should be 24 it took to long for them to be together which made it annoying the AI sml character made no sense you can tell it was AI he didnt look real words didnt match the lip movement. I would like to see tan jian ci and wang chu do a another drama together hopefully with better storyline. I did like the other two couples too. Would i recommend this drama nope only if your ok with the slowest burn romance i ever seen next to the dazzling.

It was okay, just stayed for the leads

I thought that it wasn’t the best; I only watched it for the female lead. One of the other side's couple of stories, I really did not like, and I skipped over his scenes. And the Al of the ex-boyfriend really put me off, so I skipped most of his scenes as well, as I couldn't get past how awkward it looked.

Love love love

It was a good watch overall. It did bore me at times,
The chemistry between the main leads was really good 👍 and honestly that was one of the main reasons I enjoyed the drama. Their interactions felt natural and I liked watching their relationship develop. I also liked that both leads had their own careers and personal struggles instead of the whole drama being only about romance.
The supporting characters were okay, some were good and some felt unnecessary. There were also some really nice emotional and cute moments between the leads, which I enjoyed.

It’s not that I hated the drama or anything, but:

- I think the drama could have been shorter. It would have been better as around 28–30 episodes with a slightly faster pace.
- I didn’t really like the stalking and some of the other unnecessary stuff.

It's not that I hated the show or anything but for me it doesn't hold the rewatch value

Overall, it was a good watch with good chemistry......
