I finished the drama hoping the second half would prove me wrong.

Unfortunately, it confirmed everything I was worried about.

The biggest problem is that the romance simply refuses to move forward. The couple doesn't officially get together until Episode 34, after spending more than twenty episodes repeating the exact same "almost" dynamic. After all that waiting, the payoff amounts to two underwhelming kisses and very little time to actually enjoy them as a couple.

Even worse, once they finally start dating, the drama wastes another great opportunity. Their relationship becomes a secret, but nothing interesting is done with it. There are no awkward close calls, no funny situations, no real tension about being discovered. It's just a secret because the script says it's a secret.

The side couples continue to consume far too much screen time, and the corporate fraud storyline drags on much longer than necessary. I found myself skipping scenes constantly because they added very little to the main story.

What disappointed me the most, however, was the female lead.

At first, her playful personality was charming because it fit the "falling in love" phase of the story. But once the relationship became official, she never seemed to mature emotionally. At work she was portrayed as a brilliant finance professional, yet at home the romance often felt like watching two high school students who didn't know how to communicate. That contrast became increasingly difficult to buy.

The ending was just as underwhelming.

After asking the audience to wait for more than thirty episodes, the final proposal in the apartment where they first met should have been emotionally rewarding. Instead, it felt flat. No catharsis. No satisfying emotional payoff. Just... over.

I already understood the pattern by Episode 20. Unfortunately, the remaining episodes simply repeated it.

This drama has the classic charm that makes Chinese dramas so enjoyable. I really like both of the main characters, but I'm especially drawn to Qian Fei. She's righteous, kind, hardworking, and incredibly down-to-earth. She's the kind of character who feels genuine and easy to root for.

Li Yifei's character is equally interesting, bringing a lot of humor and charm that perfectly balances the story.

What I love most about this drama is how realistically it portrays the struggles of working life and the importance of friendship. There's nothing overly dramatic about the storyline, and that's exactly what makes it so refreshing. It feels natural, relatable, and comforting—almost like following a small part of everyday life.

If you're looking for something light, relaxing, and easy to watch after a long day, this drama is definitely worth giving a try. It's the perfect choice when you just want to unwind or pass the time with a heartwarming story.

Through the stomach to the heart - dinner table romance.

This drama truly embraces slow burn natural romance, and I’m not mad about it. Truly to be told - I truly enjoy how I cannot really point to a specific moment the leads fell in love with each other, I just remember small moments that built into a grand feeling.

It’s kind of an uneventful show, but I would not say it’s a flaw. Personally I enjoyed the mundane moments far more than when they actually tried to push forward the plot and the story. Highlight of the show? Dinner scenes. Li Yi Fei and Qian Fei hanging out in the kitchen area was what I enjoyed the most - building connections while performing daily tasks and slowly adjusting to each other. The whole dynamic, vibe, bickering, but also appreciation was all I needed, and honestly all I cared about. I love how they grew as individuals while slowly developing the feelings.

They just felt like real people. The flaws were not these awful big issues, just small things that depending on the situation could get really frustrating. Their positive traits and skills were also these unreadable, borderline supernatural skills. They were really good at their job - nothing more nothing less. Throughout the show they just kept learning from each other and improving as people and this is just the type of romance I love.

At the beginning of the drama I was convinced Li Yi Fei did not really know how to love the other person. He knew how to take care of someone, be nice, attentive even, but not necessarily love. On the other hand Qian Fei seemed to know how to love others, but not herself. It’s all nice and good to prioritize people around you, but at some point you need to focus on yourself. And that’s how their romance went - one learned how to love others, while the other learned how to love herself.

As any romance drama, this one also had to have additional supporting couples. I had some hopes for Jing Jing and Lu Ze. I always appreciate when the drama shows different couples in different stages of relationship - we get to see diverse types of conflicts depending on where the couple are and what their future plans are. Sadly, I feel like they unnecessarily inserted Qian Fei into their problems. And after that they were completely sidelined. The drama focused on Dang Yu and Jun Cheng and my focus completely drifted away. I am sorry, but I am just not into a love story that starts with stalking and acting dumb and cute will not erase the fact it was in fact stalking. They as a couple were frustrating ,the family drama around them was even more annoying.

The biggest positive surprise? Liao Shi Yu. Not even lying, I think she might be my favorite character. I love how professional, but also humane she was. While trying to put her feelings aside to run the business, she still had her slipups, but at the end of the day she knew what she did wrong. She valued other people’s skills over her own feelings towards them.

When talking about the characters I have to mention AI ex. I am so sorry, but the AI face swap was just too distracting. This man never looked in the eyes of the person he talked to - not once. The character itself was awful, but the face swap thing was so creepy that’s all I could focus on while watching his scenes.

For the minor flaws - I wished the drama actually focused more on friendships. I feel like every couple lived their own life and their plots did not overlap that much emotionally. Everyone was doing their own things to some extent. Sure, the girls met to chat about their relationship issues, but there was not much true overlap of what was going on in their lives.

Production wise leave any and all expectations behind. It’s obviously not a high budget production. Don’t know if I just got used to it, or it truly did improve in the second half, but the editing and mediocre aesthetics are not that distracting. The production just seems like bare minimum. Some soundtrack did not fit the occasion at all, some slo-mo moments made no sense, some transitions between scenes felt unnatural, but overall none of that was criminally bad.

The performances were great. Again, hard to judge AI ex - his whole existence was just frustration and confusion for the viewers. Were any of the performances groundbreaking? Career change? Breathtaking? Not really. But the chemistry was great and that’s kind of all one needs from a business slice of life rom-com.

Overall, mundane watch. Not necessarily mediocre, but it’s just.. lukewarm? And that’s fine. An addicting dry cookie? Needed palate cleanser? This is this type of a show.

let me start by saying that not all dramas manages to hook me but this one got me hooked from day 1, I found myself looking forward to every new episode!
I'm a fan of slow-burn romance and this drama delivered exactly that!
I liked how they slowly warmed up to each other and how they slowly made place in each other's world
what i really liked about this drama was :
- the chemistry between the main leads
- the banter
- the music
- the slow pacing of the drama
I really appreciated how the story gave both characters their time to figure out how they felt instead of rushing it.

Could've Been.. Would've Been..

This show was cute and funny. Tian Jianci is such a great all around actor whether playing serious or comedic roles. And Wang Churan is just beautiful to watch on screen. The story between the leads had enough to make the show work.. idk why the writers decided to make the side characters almost have the same amount of screen time as the mains.. i did end up ff their scenes.. As for the romance the leads romance is what i would call practical.. not complicated.. it is a slow burn.. but it didnt affect their chemistry.. this show could've been a 10 for me if the other characters didnt take up so much screen time it didnt give me enough time to enjoy the leads.. 💜

MY BICKERING COUPLE /ᐠ｡ꞈ｡ᐟ\

For me, this was a fun, fluffy, and light-hearted drama with a nice mix of business and office politics, which I really enjoyed. However, I didn't like how some characters took up so much screen time despite not contributing much to the overall plot.

I also wish we had gotten more episodes focusing on Yifei and Qianfei's dating era. They only showed about 3–4 episodes of them as a couple, but I wanted to see more of their sweet, adorable, and fluffy relationship. I absolutely loved how Yifei and Qianfei were always teasing each other. They were my ideal bickering couple! 🥹💕 Their playful banter made their relationship feel so natural and entertaining. Another big plus point for me was that there weren't any major misunderstandings between them. It was so refreshing to watch a couple communicate and trust each other instead of being dragged into unnecessary drama.
And I have to say, my favorite scenes were whenever Yifei got jealous over Qianfei. 😂 Those moments were adorable, hilarious, and honestly some of the best scenes in the entire drama for me. I also really loved that there was never a scene where Yifei's dad objected to Yifei and Qianfei's relationship. It was such a refreshing change! He was a genuinely sweet, supportive, and caring father. 🥹💖I also loved Qianfei's parents. They were warm, understanding, and supportive, which made both families so enjoyable to watch. It was nice to see a drama without unnecessary family opposition getting in the way of the main couple's relationship. ❤️

The chemistry between the leads was one of the highlights of the drama. Wang Churan and Tan Jianci were so good together that I really hope they get paired up again in another drama. 🥹💕Although this drama had a few drawbacks, especially the pacing and some slow scenes, I stayed till the end because of Wang Churan and Tan Jianci. 🥹💕 I absolutely loved them as Qian Fei and Li Yifei. Their chemistry, acting, and playful relationship were the biggest reasons I kept watching. ❤️✨

Really this is very good and delightful drama

I just finished this drama.First of all congratulations to all actor and actress for your hard work specially Tian jian ci and wang churan... This was the most anticipated drama.. I waiting for this drama for many years.. At last it came... It really fireworks🎇... I really like it...
But in this drama the most annoying part is jun's mom and wang ruhoi but overall is really good... Specially Li yifei and Qian Fei's bickering to each other... I really enjoyed those bickering... They already looked like a couple even before the confession.... Yes after 26 no. episode I loosed my patients because at least in 10 episodes we saw their dating era but after 33 no episode (33-36) I just speechless what a sweet moment between them!!!! And no more Jun's mom annoying scene..... 5-6 kisses just in 3 episodes 😍😍so many hugs....

So please go and enjoy this drama really worth it.....

Highly recommend it

I love JC-T, and he didn't disappoint with this one. He can do both funny and serious roles brilliantly. First time watching Wang Chu Ran as the lead and I liked her too.

The story started out quite the typical way with a lot of "chance" enounters that certainly were too unrealistic. I didn't expect much from the start. But when they started living together after breaking up their individual relationships, things became interesting. The flow of of the story and how they gradually grew on each other and helped each other was well written. I didn't expect there'd be villains among the characters around them though. There was no buildup of backstories on them. Didn't really understand why they did the things they did. Let's just say they were only put there to complicate the main leads' lives a little. Usually, the other side characters' stories are just fillers for a drama but this one didn't feel like it. I liked the second and third couples. Jun's story showed that being a mama's boy was not necessarily a bad thing. His mom was so cool and funny! She definitely stole the show for this segment. One more thing I love in this drama is the OST. The lyrics "你,你,你" definitely got stuck in my head and I'm sure it'll get stuck on yours too😁

One of my all time favorite couples (and I have seen over 400 dramas)

My daughter, who watched this one with me, gave it a 9.5/10, and I will explain the half-point difference in the spoiler section. For me, though, this was almost exactly what I want from a romance drama. It had one of my favorite tropes, "forced" habitation, but what made it work so well was that the shared living situation did not immediately turn into a romance. Instead, they quickly became friends. They were roommates, then buddies and people who genuinely enjoyed each other's company before either of them fully recognized that their feelings were becoming something more. That meant I was getting another one of my favorite tropes too: friends to lovers.

I enjoyed this drama from beginning to end. I looked forward to every episode so much that I regularly had trouble making myself stop watching and go to sleep when I had work the next day. That is one of the best signs for me that a drama is providing what I hope for, an engaging bit of entertainment at the end of a day of "adulting". And now that it is over, I genuinely miss these characters.

The pacing was perfect for me. I know some viewers found the romance slower than they wanted, but I never felt impatient for them to get together. I actually loved watching the relationship develop. Their feelings grew out of friendship, familiarity and all those little everyday moments that happen when two people spend a lot of time together. By the time their relationship changed, it felt earned.

And their chemistry was fantastic. Some of my favorite scenes were not even the big romantic ones. I loved their play fighting, teasing and ridiculous little arguments. Those scenes made them feel like genuine friends who had become incredibly comfortable with one another. That was a huge part of why I believed their romance.

Li Yifei has to be one of my all-time favorite male leads. He was hilarious, charming, mischievous and completely ridiculous about food. His obsession with Qian Fei's cooking, especially the eggplant, was one of those little things that made me laugh every time while also being incredibly sweet. I loved watching this wealthy playboy gradually turn into the man who was practically emotionally dependent on her cooking. I think he loved it not only because she was a really good cook but because it was her. And it became their thing.

But what I loved equally as much was what Li Yifei did for Qian Fei.

He did not simply rescue her or solve her problems for her. He slowly built her confidence in herself. He was there for her, encouraged her, coached her through difficult situations and consistently made her feel capable. He helped her learn how to handle people who constantly criticized her without allowing their opinions to define her. He gave her the confidence to recognize her own worth.

And you could actually see the difference in her.

Qian Fei blossomed under his love and attention. Her professional appearance became more polished. She carried herself differently. She became more confident about expressing her opinions. She stopped automatically accepting constant criticism. She became much more secure in herself and in her abilities.

One of the things I especially loved was that eventually this became reciprocal.

At the end, Qian Fei started doing for Li Yifei what he had been doing for her. She tried to help him quietly and behind the scenes, without demanding recognition or telling him what she was doing. And eventually, they each discovered the ways the other had been quietly helping them.

That was such a beautiful reflection of how their relationship had developed. In the beginning, Li Yifei was the person helping Qian Fei find her confidence. By the end, she understood him well enough to recognize where he needed support and quietly give it to him. They were no longer simply one person helping the other. They had become partners who instinctively looked after each other.

That was also why I was slightly disappointed by the father's comment toward the end about how much Qian Fei had changed Li Yifei for the better. I completely agreed with him, but I kept waiting for someone, maybe even her, to acknowledge the other side of that equation.

Because she changed too.

And I don't just mean that being in love made her happy. She became a more confident woman. She learned how to stand up for herself professionally. She became more polished, more self-assured and less willing to let other people's criticism control her. A huge part of that growth came from Li Yifei simply being there for her over and over again. And just the power and confidence that comes from a relationship that serves as home base for everything that happens in life. It is the safe space, the think tank, that space where two people come together to tackle everything as a team.

I would have loved even one line acknowledging that he had changed her too. Her bestie did mention it but only to her. I wanted him to know that his son had that ability to transform people too. They were simply better together. It would have completed that beautiful symmetry between them.

I also found it interesting that the drama briefly mentioned that Li Yifei was younger than Qian Fei, but I never really understood what their actual age difference was. It was not an important enough part of the story to bother me, and thankfully the drama did not turn it into an unnecessary obstacle, but it was just odd to mention the age difference once without ever really establishing what it meant.

Another thing that worked surprisingly well for me was the wealthy-playboy-falls-hard-for-one-woman trope. I know some viewers find that transformation unrealistic, but I have actually seen something extremely similar happen in real life.

My brother-in-law's best friend was wealthy, handsome and a notorious ladies' man. He dated constantly and had so many women coming and going that his friends would help him remove traces of one woman before the next one arrived. He had one or two relationships that were more focused, but they were always shallow enough that none of us ever imagined he would settle down.

Then he met one woman who was completely different from the women he normally dated. She did not even seem like his type. And when he fell for her, he fell hard. He stopped noticing anyone else, they eventually married, and years later he is unquestionably the devoted one in that relationship.

So I completely bought Li Yifei's transformation. Sometimes there really is one person who causes somebody to suddenly realize that all of the things they thought they wanted were not what they actually wanted.

I also never found the hiding-his-wealth trope particularly unbelievable. I have known multiple wealthy people who deliberately concealed or downplayed their financial circumstances because they did not want that to be the first thing people noticed about them. They wanted people to like them for who they were rather than because they had money. And there is also the stigma and simply the bother of trying to sort people who are only after your money from people who are genuine. So that part never pulled me out of the story either.

Overall, this was really my perfect romance. It had the tropes I love, excellent chemistry, believable emotional progression, humor, warmth, friendship, domesticity and two characters who genuinely made each other better.

And I think I interpreted the title Love Has Fireworks differently from some viewers who expected a more explosive romance.

To me, the fireworks are not necessarily the relationship itself being one giant, dramatic explosion.

Think about a day that is wonderful from beginning to end. Maybe nothing spectacular happens. You spend time with someone you love, laugh, eat good food, talk, tease each other and enjoy being together. It is warm and comfortable and almost ordinary in the best possible way. Then, at the very end of that beautiful day, there is a fireworks display.

The fireworks are the breathtaking final moment that makes an already wonderful day feel almost unreal.

That is what the title meant to me.

Love is all of those little moments. The friendship. The laughter. The play fighting. The meals. The quiet help. The way you start automatically looking for that person. The way an ordinary day feels better because they are there. And then every once in a while, there is one of those perfect moments when you stop and think, How did I get this lucky?

The fireworks are the icing on the cake.

That is exactly how I experienced the romance between Li Yifei and Qian Fei.

The biggest difference between my 10/10 and my daughter's 9.5/10 came down to Jun Cheng and Dang Yu. She found that entire romance tedious and never really became invested in them as a couple. More specifically, she thought Jun Cheng's behavior early on was cringey enough that he came across as a stalker, and she never reached the point where she wanted to root for the relationship.

I actually agree with a lot of that criticism.

Jun Cheng really was a mama's boy, and my daughter was right about that. His behavior could absolutely be uncomfortable early on, and I found myself getting irritated whenever too much screen time was devoted to that storyline.

The fact that he went against his mother a couple of times did not completely reassure me either. Those moments were not particularly significant, and it felt more like his mother eventually became part of the fold than that the underlying problem had fundamentally changed. I could easily imagine her continuing to be overly involved in their lives.

The dance competition was another weak point for me. I found it cringe, and neither actress was convincing enough as a dancer to make me forget I was watching actors who were supposed to be portrayed as talented dancers.

It actually reminded me of the reaction many people had to Raygun's Olympic breakdancing performance. Once you become aware that what you are watching is not actually very good, it becomes difficult to pretend within the story that everyone is watching something spectacular. That happened to me here. I was no longer watching the characters dance; I was watching actresses who were supposed to be good dancers.

It broke the fourth wall for me.

I did enjoy Yao Jingjing and Lu Ze's relationship considerably more. Their storyline felt more interesting, and I did not mind when the drama spent time following them. Their relationship did not frustrate me nearly as much.

My daughter was much more bothered by Jun Cheng and Dang Yu's storyline than I was, to the point that she felt it actually detracted from the drama. I was annoyed by it, but the main romance was so strong that it never came close to ruining the show for me.

I never really liked Gui Lili. I thought it was unfortunate that, because of the circumstances, Qian Fei did not really get to unload on Wang Ruohai the way I sometimes wanted her to. Instead, she had to apologize to Gui Lili multiple times over things that were not really her fault. I did not like the way her character was treated, as somewhat sympathetic, because she was the "other woman" unapologetically so it felt like the positives she gained at the end were a slap in the face of what she did to Qian Fei early on. She wanted to humiliate her, wanted to degrade her, even wanted to get her fired when she was the one who should have felt ashamed.

Honestly, most people probably would never have become friends with the other woman under those circumstances. Qian Fei eventually did, though, and although I and many others would never have forgiven the selfish heiresses actions, her forgiving the "other woman" felt completely consistent with her character. She was simply that kind of person.

And this is another reason I liked the growth in her relationship with Li Yifei. He helped her become stronger without changing the fundamental kindness that made her who she was.

The office politics were probably the weakest part of the drama for me, especially early on. They were not terrible, but I was always much more interested in what was happening between the leads. Fortunately, those sections were never enough to diminish my overall enjoyment.

After more than 400 dramas, I do not give out 10/10 ratings lightly. A drama can be well-made, beautifully acted and objectively good and still not be a 10 for me.

Love Has Fireworks was a 10 because I didn't just like watching it. I looked forward to watching it.

I cared about these characters.

I loved this couple.

I loved the way they became friends before they became lovers.

I loved how they made each other better.

I loved the humor and the domestic little moments.

And now that it is over, I miss them.

For me, that is what a 10/10 romance feels like.
