Great Acting, Story wasn't
Connect succeeds in having a great cast that give great performances, alongside great characters that are well-written or mysterious enough to like to an extent. However, the story is easily the big let down here, with almost plot-hole filled plot twists that almost ruin the story? I mean, I didn't really notice this pop up until the final two episodes, which, as you can tell, where the reason why I put this in. If the two final episodes were different, there could be a chance of this having a higher overall rating.Other positives include the cinematography, directing and the majority of the SFX (although some of the SFX were not that good at all). The OST was pretty nice too, although a little repetitive. Some other negatives would be an uninteresting opening credit scene, some repetitive dialogue, and repetitive action scenes.
I also really liked Kim Hye Joon's character, and the characters in the 'Gang' the most, they were both mysterious and well written (from my perspective, at least).
I would still recommend this, but do not expect a masterpiece.

Waste of Time
Just finished the show. Originally, I was looking forward to watching this as the cast of this one is really promising. The fact that it's a Disney+ original added another alluring feel to it.However, it was a disappointment.
The acting was okay, but the storyline felt lackluster and incomplete; it had potential but something was definitely missing. The visuals were great though, some of the scenes were mesmerizing. But the lack of depth and character development was glaring. I wish the writers had done a better job with the plot.
They could have added more twists and turns and made it more interesting. It felt like the story was barely touched upon in the time given and could have been a lot more enjoyable if the writers had gone a little bit deeper into the characters and the story. All in all, it was okay, but nothing extraordinary.

Went off the rails in the last episode, plot felt undeveloped, could have used like 8 more episodes.
I feel so confused. I just finished the show and had no idea what happened in like the last 45 minutes.. the plot completely went off the rails, characters acted super out of character, and there were a ton of plot holes. Oh, and also the “ending” isn’t really an ending, it’s super ambiguous. It’s really too bad because the first 5 episodes were genuinely really interesting to watch and well-made. It felt like the show needed an extra 8 episodes to fully develop and it is really obvious that the ending is rushed.I would still tentatively recommend Connect, because the first part was actually super well made and engaging, however when I got to the last episode it truly felt like the full plot hadn’t even started, so it was a disappointment to realize it was the last episode lol. And then of course the last episode was ridiculous and out of character for the rest of the show. If you want to watch it, go ahead, but I would probably just skip the last episode and pretend like it doesn’t exist because it’s probably just as satisfying as the “real” ending without the stupid plot holes.

The highly imaginative series was similar to the movie The Thing
The highly imaginative series was similar to the movie The Thing, its sequences are not scary. The special effects were well done, but the story has a lot of flaws. From now on, I can see how the second season is going to go and the end of the story. There are twists and turns that the continuation is canceled and we are stuck in a hangover, wondering what is going to happen in the end. Serials like this always end half because of the weak story and lack of content, because in the end it just becomes a repetitive and boring topic, but most of the people will not see it again from some point on, I hope that the second season, if it works, will be able to cover the weaknesses and have an end point at the endWas this review helpful to you?

Underwhelming but still watchable.
To be honest, the show isn't even bad. However the show has too many plot holes and too many frustrating bits with how the characters are not thinking smart. Yes they may have been written as not smart however, a person with an average IQ would definitely think better than how the actions are portrayed in the show. The fighting is pretty mediocre and can be boring. You'd think if you had a immortal body you would train yourself.
The song is alright, I liked how they changed versions even though it probably is just one version that has different parts in the song. However it does really get annoying. I understand it's for the plot, but I don't know. To me the song connect situation doesn't make sense at all.
The time skip is super weird. I either forgot how long was the time skip mentioned or it was never mention properly. Like when did that thing happened?
The acting was fine, not the best but not bad at all. It was mostly neutral in the entire time of the show.
I still do not understand how they get the immortal body.. I payed attention the entire time and still didn't know. Only knew the situation between the male leads. Can someone please comment down the answer.
The cgi was great. One of the reasons I remained to watch. I knew the cgi was going to be good just from trailer.
uh.... The sex scene... I do like thirsty scenes however, it was placed seriously at the wrong time. Like they talking about the suspect and then boom, sex scene in front of the screen.
Overall: Too messy, can be enjoyable, many plot holes, no smart decisions, kind of mediocre. 7.0 or 7.5 fits this rating.

Not so horror than it seems
The trailer seems promising as much as the storyline, but overall not that great. The story is linear yes, but lacks a lot of background history that would help to understand the drama way better (like, why do these people even exist??? where's the point of this story???). A special mention goes for the special effects, can't say anything bad about them, honestly really splatter and were well made, beyond my expectations to be honest!
Does it need a second season? For me yes, many plot holes are left without and answer in the end!

Bloody, bizarre and freaking creative
"Connect" it's a drama is about a world where there is people with strange abilities, they are called "Connect", their body doesn't die, no matter how it's hurt. The main character is Dong Soo, a lonely man who lives hidden because there's no one who would understand and accept him. One day he's kidnapped and lost one of his eyes, after that he keeps getting visions of someone else and that person is a serial killer.
The story follows his quest to stop that person and get his eye back. In the meanwhile, Dong Soo encounters I Rang, a woman who's just like him.
This drama was a huge surprise, I wasn't expecting it to like so much. It's one of the best productions I have ever seen and it has the face of Takashi Miike writing on it. The only flaw is the open ending, since most likely there will not be a second season.
Jung Hae In, Go Kyung Pyo e Kim Hye Joon <3

With a dark approach and a stylized cinematic feel, the series stands out for its eerie tone and unsettling atmosphere. Jung Hae-in delivers an intense performance in the lead role, convincingly portraying his character’s anguish and determination. Additionally, the visual effects and direction create an immersive and disturbing experience.
Although its premise is fascinating, the narrative can feel abstract at times, which may not appeal to all viewers. However, for those looking for a unique story with elements of horror and sci-fi, it is an intriguing and visually memorable production.

underwhelming
originally had high expectations but the drama came out to be extremely underwhelming. how did the police suddenly decide who the prime suspect was? oh yeah, bc he radiates MC energy and he's kinda hot. it makes absolutely no sense how the actual "murderer" was able to get away with everything like where's the logic and years of technological advancement. honestly, the police are just NPCs and literal pawns at this point. good plot, terrible execution. would have probably been more engaging if the audience was progressively revealed to who the killer was rather than automatically revealing it bc i was bored af.Was this review helpful to you?
Give it a Go
I watched this drama over the Christmas Period and finished all the 6 episodes in less then 5 hours. I went on watching for the lead as I liked his performance in the snowdrop. Though , I liked his work in this as well, playing a character who is little disconnected with the outer world, inexpressive as you would guess in any alien genre . However, the overall story was not that impressive. But thumps up for coming up with a new idea of showing the brutal murders in an artistic way- never seen in any of the thrilled dramas so far.If this were to have a second season then I am looking forward to the female lead's character as she shown a bit dark shades of her character.
If you have a time and would prefer anything to kill time then you can definitely give this drama a go.

Strange in the wrong way
I was looking forward to this, Jung Hae-in being one of my favourite actors.I just read the main storyline before and thought it sounded promising, but the actual series didn't deliver it for me.
The start is just confusing. So we are where? In a dystopic parallel world? Or in our world? I don't know, because if someone like the main character really existed with these kind of healing and recovery powers, and that would have been known since his childhood, he would not have seen the light of day ever again because every nation in the world would have tried to put him into a laboratory and disect him to find out his secret. That at least was my first thought after 20 minutes in.
The next thought was, who are all these people, why do all the things happen, and at some point I felt annoyed as the main character loudly speaks all of his obvious thoughts in a way nobody really does. It's just something I don't like in general. I don't like being spoonfed every single thing like that. For all the abilities he possese he seems awkwardly helpless and clumsy most of the time. I finished the first episode and most of the time you see him clutching his missing eyesocket or both his eyes in panic and uttering obvious things. He is steadily on the run and can escape, until a very tiny woman shows up, (either knowing all the secrets for an unknown reason or just trying to be the weird 'I like creepy things'- character) and after seeing his healing ability, happily throws him off a roof. Oo
I honestly didn't like any of this. It's dark, and I like dark, but this just feels unpleasant. The characters seem flat and constructed altogether, and I don't like any of them, at all, it just seems sterile and weird to me. It also reminds me of rather bad copies of some Marvel movies I didn't finish either because I disliked them.
You get thrown into the storyline without any necessary background information, instead there is lots of graphic organ cutting, pulling and slicing and this steady rather helpless out loud commenting of the main character. It would have been so much better and more intelligent the other way around. Give visual background, let the audience think and let it understand the mysterious lead character by his actions, his gaze, etc.
I stopped watching after the first episode, so if it got any better or even brilliant later I might have missed that. I simply didn't care about any of the characters or the story, it just seemed too artificially fabricated and thrown together in the attempt to create atmosphere and tension - which sadly it failed to do.
