GREAT DRAMA IMPECCABLE STORYLINE LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT

Wonderful storyline and great acting is what makes great. In the drama serious moments are sprinkled in with humor which makes the story is gripping and is a nice light watch there is beautiful romance between the main leads and other side characters and the ending is a happy one and with paced nicely not too long or too short if you're interested in dramas like new life begins you will surely love this. This is a must watch drama. If you're interested in more serious dramas it does give you a bit of that but does not overpower the playfulness of this drama I highly suggest 10 out of 10

Great Drama Undone by Unacceptable Animal Cruelty

"Youthful Glory" had such great potential — the cast's chemistry was genuinely impressive, and their performances really brought the story to life. I was enjoying the drama a lot until Episode 19, where the scene involving the rooster was extremely disturbing. It looked like the animal was being suffocated, and it was very hard to watch. In the 21st century, there's absolutely no excuse for cruelty to animals, especially in entertainment. It sets a terrible example and completely ruined the experience for me. Such a shame for an otherwise promising show. I hope productions take more care in the future.

Not bad but not good

This is not my type of liking , only reason I continued to watch is ML but after 18 episode I forced myself to watch but I can't ,I found myself skipping some minutes and later episodes, still story remains the same lot of political stuff, first 10 episodes are intresting and later I felt bored because lot of political stuffs i dropped at episode 19 with lot of skippings... I know FL is premature baby not strong enough to learn martial but atleast should not be annoying.Baishou is my all time favourite, if u don't have any plan to watch u can watch this .

Typical storyline

This drama really isn't worth 8/10. Here we go again, same annoying story line with supposedly smart FL but very stupid in deciphering suituations. Then the ML who for some reason cannot escape blame with lack of communication. All good intensions go to waste because you can't open your mouth and speak at the right moment.
It's like these characters can talk and say all there is to say but suddenly go silent or lose their ability to speak at the crucial moment.
Look, i guess these types of story lines can be fine to watch the first time but there is no rewatch value.
I normally like to finish dramas at least but the leads are so annoying so far. Not for the mature audiences.

The 2nd Couple stole the show

I have to admit the 2nd leading couple stole the show, at least in my opinion. They were so cute, chaotic and basically a perfect match for each other. That does not mean that the main couple didn't have any chemistry at all, but it did feel like Bai Min Min and Zhang Huai Yu had better/more chemistry than them.
The cast's acting varied from quite good to really great. I personally really enjoyed Dai Lu Wa's portrayal as Bai Min Min. She seems like a great actress and I will definitely be looking forward to her next performances. She just has a way to pull in the audience, despite not being the main lead. I also liked Qin Xiao Xuan's portrayal as Liu Mo, I think his eyes are really expressive, which becomes especially apparent at the scene when he learns the truth and cries. He's not simply shedding tears, his microexpressions were great.
Unfortunately I found it quite tedious to finish this drama, especially afrom the 18th episode onwards. It just got boring. It was pretty interesting and enjoyable in the beginning, but somewhere in the middle it just stopped being that. It did have its interesting moments (even after the 18th episode) but they were few and far in between.
Also the 3rd leading couple (Yun Yi and Shu Jing Ran) held zero appeal to me. I found myself completely indifferent towards the pairing, as well as towards Yun Yi as a character. I did like Shu Jing Ran's character, but Yun Yi... I just wasn't interested, it's not like I disliked her, but I simply wasn't interested and wasn't invested in her character. Also her character felt like it was forcefully inserted in the middle of the story. I just couldn't muster any interest in the pairing.
I really liked the ending though! It was very heartwarming!

The FL character is flawed and realistic for her upbringing and the time period in which she was born. I may not always agree with her but her character is relatable and realistic. The actress's acting is natural too! I like her since I first saw her in her drama "Love behind the Melody". 🩷🥰🩷🥰🩷

As someone who is not easily swayed with words and charm and hold strongly to conservative values, I totally understand some of her decisions especially in her pre-engagement/marriage era. 🤭🤣🤭🤣

I love how heroic and selfless the ML’s love for the FL is—it’s convincingly portrayed on screen, but that kind of love is definitely rare, almost impossible to find in real life. 😭🤣🥹🤣😭

This is one of the best Cdramas I have watched this year. I'm not even done watching yet and I am already rewatching some episodes—I'm still three episodes away from finishing it—but my mind, heart, and eyes are already satisfied. 🤣🤭🥰🤭🤣Thank you! 🙏🏻🤍🙏🏻🤍

low stakes (for the most part!) cute fluffy historical cdrama!

this little drama was sooo fluffy and cute, I'm so glad i gave it a shot. this is the first drama i watch in full for both leads, first watch of our leading lady Bao Shang En and first drama i finish with our male lead Song Wei Long.

Bao Shang En did a wonderful job as Ming Tan. she felt natural delivering her lines, body language felt natural and her expressions were well done as well. she could clearly communicate what her character was feeling and i felt she did a job job playing our spoiled Ming Tan. i also want to express my adoration for Ming Tan and how grateful i am we get an upfront fashion icon that's clearly used to getting everything she wants and is spoiled. it feels like its not acceptable to show that of characters without them being deemed "bad characters" but they demonstrated the difference between Ming Tan and her sister very well in terms of that.

as i mentioned earlier this is the first drama with Song Wei Long i have finished. if anyone's attempted to watch his previous work you know it can be a bit difficult as he can come across as wooden ( as i did in everlasting longing which i ended up dropping). however, i recommend viewers give him a shot here. he was a lot more expressive, conveyed emotions a lot better. as for his character i liked how he was very doting and tended to whatever Ming Tan needed. he knew how she was when he married her and he never once tried to change her so i liked that. i will say Song Wei Long's body language was a bit awkward at times but it fit the character at these points so i wasn't too upset about it.

overall very fluffy and cute. definitely recommend checking it out!

A Sweet, Fun, and Heartwarming Romance

Youthful Glory is a light and lovable historical C-drama that truly surprised me in the best way! If you're looking for a drama that is sweet, entertaining, and full of romance without too much stress or politics—this is for you!

The story is fast-paced and never boring. Each episode has fun and cute moments that made me smile, laugh, and feel excited. It’s not trying too hard to be complex—it’s just simple, enjoyable, and heartfelt.

The lead couple has amazing chemistry. The male lead is strong and serious on the outside but soft and caring on the inside. The female lead is spoiled and girly at first, but she grows beautifully and shows her kind and clever side. They balance each other perfectly. Their romantic scenes are truly the highlight of the show!

The side characters and couples also add charm, humor, and depth to the story. The friendships, fun conversations, and little romantic side stories make this drama even more lovable.

Production-wise, the costumes, sets, and background music are well done, though not perfect. Some costumes and fight scenes could have been better, but nothing takes away from the overall fun of watching it. The ending is also very satisfying—a full, happy wrap-up that leaves you with a warm heart.

Yes, the drama uses some common tropes and has a few plot holes here and there. But if you watch it with the mindset of just enjoying a romantic, feel-good show—you’ll have a great time.

Final Thoughts:
If you love sweet romance, lovable characters, and a feel-good ending, then Youthful Glory is 100% worth your time. Turn off your brain, grab some snacks, and just enjoy the love, laughter, and lighthearted moments. I give it a 8 out of 10!

One of the Best of 2025, Over Prisoner of Beauty

So far, it's one of my favorites of 2025. Personally, I prefer it over Prisoner of Beauty but don't come at me before reading my reviews for both.

While nothing original and following the generic script of many many many historical C-novels, the acting and chemistry of the two leads really bring the story together. While I love Liu Yu Ning and think he deserves more credit, I just didn't feel there was much chemistry in Prisoner of Beauty. There were a couple of sparks, but it didn't last very long. Song Wei Long gave one of his best performances in this drama and really made us feel as if ML was falling hard for FL. He's always had a more roguish (if you could even call it that) look and air to him which he really made use of this time around and made viewers swoon a little when he teases FL (which, again, love because why do MLs always have to be stoic). Honestly, Bao Shang En was not on my list of actresses to watch, but she is now. Without seeming foolish or like a shrinking wallflower, Bao Shang En manages to portray a FL that is cute, vibrant, yet cunning and fun to watch. She makes the FL a believable partner for ML who is supposedly this amazing character.

New, unique plots are always good, but it's really the actors that bring the script to life. I'm always a sucker for a tropey, yet well done drama and Youthful Glory has done it for me. While it doesn't top my drama list for 2025, I think that it performed well above its limit especially up against Prisoner of Beauty which was one of the most anticipated dramas of 2025.

Just enjoy the visuals and the music

Great chemistry. Love the contract marriage trope. Kinda wish it was more slow-burn. Main cast are all impressive. Soundtracks are amazing. Full of action/fight scenes and they are well done. Overall a lovely ride. Perfect choice for those who want a relaxing drama. [PS. kiss/bed scenes are quite unsatisfying]

A light hearted but perfect series

If I were to describe it in 2 words - Sweet and perfect

If you need to take a break from all the nasty court drama or revenge plot, this series might be the best for you.

The ML is a walking green forest and the FL is playful lady at first but the characters arc are very well developed. The plot is fast paced even though it doesn't have the extravaganza scheming plot, revenge or war scene however still have it's own angst and tension mixed with the romantic plot quite well.

Rom com at its finest

Great but simple plot line that is filled with humour, love, intrigue and the odd battle or two.
From the get go the cast were brilliant and very believable. Production values were also good (even if there were only about 30 soldiers per side for a ‘major’ battle… 🤭)
I’d never watched Song Weilong in anything before so wasn’t sure what to expect but he successfully plays the part of a quiet prince who uses few words and his eyes to convey many of the emotions that he feels. He may be eye candy, but in my book he epitomised the character of Prince Dingbei so brilliantly I can say he has depth and breadth in his acting.
I’d never heard of Bao Sheng En before and so again I found her utterly captivating. Big doe eyes and a fairy like quality that captured the ML’s heart very quickly and most of the single men around her (without her realising how special she was).
The two other pairs of love interest helped to make the story more rounded and added a wee bit more intensity to the overall drama.
Overall a lovely watch, would I watch again. Probably not as there is so much I have yet to see
