The premises are rather similar. In True Beauty the main lead uses makeup to mask her real appearance from her peers. Whilst in shadow beauty, she edits her pictures to look like someone else. Both dramas have a ML knowing the FL real identity. Shadow beauty is a much darker than TB
Entertaining big families that come close to heart.
The way both dramas deal with family-only dynamics is peaceful.
Full of comedy.
Heart-filling romances.
Double in-law couples.

Sakahira Riku, a first-year high school student, is jokingly pushed on the shoulder by his friend Tasaki while swimming by the pool, and falls into the pool with Mizumura Manami, who is next to him. The next day, when he wakes up, he finds that his body has been swapped with Manami's. Both are confused and try everything to get back to normal, but nothing works. They are forced to desperately exchange information about their families, friends, club activities, etc. in order to play the role of each other.
The FL ends up getting plastic surgery on her face before entering university, after being bullied for her looks all her life. She only does so with the help of her mom without her dad finding out. Now with the face she's always wanted, she's considered as one of the most attractive girls in her department. But the complex she's had and the fact she had her entire face redone is something she wants no one to find out about. -
both have school bullying themes
unexpected romances
focus on the emotional growth of the main characters
both FL have to learn to face their problems and not run away
both have idol ML
both are short viki watches
overall both of the series are very similar and good in their different ways. I recommend them

I feel like the themes are quite similar—Shadow Beauty is a little darker, but when you compare the pictures, it almost looks like a copycat.
Even though both dramas include some romance, it’s never the main focus. The real emphasis is on social media and the internet, and how they influence and control the people around you and your life.
