Well executed mix of rom-com and crime thriller
Really interesting concept - mixing rom-com and crime thriller mystery together. I think it was executed pretty well. There were some moments that I did feel dragged on quite a bit, but overall the pacing for the solving of the crime and the romance was done well. The special effects and cgi were amazing and so beautifully done. The editing stylisation was also really nice - in how they presented the past flashbacks. A bit predictable in terms of the overall outcome, but we gotta secure that happy ending so I totally get it. Overall, despite the predictability, it was an enjoyable time. Was this review helpful to you?

Can Cupid also fall in love with me? Asking for a man
Whenever I watch a drama, I look for three things:1. Is the story good?
2. Is the acting good?
3. Do I want to go lie down on train tracks?
And believe me when I say, it’s only a ten if number three has a 60% chance of happening.
In conclusion, My man is Cupid is a freaking good drama. I love the actors, the story of their forbidden love, and how, even tho both of them know they are possibly going to be hit by a white truck in the near future, they still fight for each other.
In addition to a good chemistry between the actors, the story itself is pretty good. Good mystery elements, funny moments, and romance filled scenes.

The chemistry between ML and FL is amazing.
The chemistry between ML and FL is amazing. Episode 1 was disappointing, but the story gets more interesting from episode 2 and the characters of the two main leads are worth enjoying. The setting, which twists the story of Cupid and Psyche, and the two lead actors fit so well together that it's a pleasure just to watch. The setting of choosing the person you love and rejecting the fate that someone else has decided for you, as well as their acting and appearance, all work together surprisingly well. If I were the director, I would have deleted the funny Cupid outfit and Cupid's friends' jokes. But ML is beautiful. He is an actor who can speak with his eyes. FL finally met an acting partner who matched her and blossomed. FL and ML are giving emotional acting that adds depth to the light drama. I hope I like the ending of this drama too.Was this review helpful to you?
Jang Dong-yoon and Nana, Charming chemistry of different types of looks and acting styles
When I first saw the poster, it was so weird. But after watching episode one, I understand what the poster means. In episode one, the curator explains a picture of a girl who rejects Cupid. It's like she rejects Cupid but still pulls him with a smile. Like she's afraid to fall in love but still wants to love.In the poster, M.L. looks like he's pushing away F.L., but on the other hand, he smiles. He can't help but be smiling at her with her eyes closed. The poster is a reversal of Cupid's photo. It shows the emotional relationship between the two.
The most impressive part of the drama was Jang Dong-yoon and Nana's teamwork. The two create an attractive chemistry by perfectly combining different looks and different acting styles.
Nana is having fun playing the loveliest, slightly eccentric character of all her works. Jang looks like Cupid itself, an adorable, but a little stubborn fairy. His performance is very natural and makes Nana's rather exaggerated performance feel natural. Jang and Nana both have delicate facial expressions and unique sense of humor, which are cute and lovely, but very exciting and fun at the same time. I love this tempo. It is sometimes admirably beautiful, as if the faces of two different types appeal to how great chemistry they can show. The supporting cast of this drama, however, is not powerful. Other supporting cast members are anachronistic, except for the only YouTuber who lives with Nana to show unique performances. Past episodes of Cupid's friends and detective friends have been really bad.
The drama is getting more and more interesting as it goes through parts 3 and 4. The police officer who is in charge of one of the pillars of the love triangle seems a little dangerous. But even the man who cheated on me is suspicious. I think there are a lot of stories left about my past life.
The first Cupid story I expected was about a human woman who was destined to fall in love with Cupid, but it's a more interesting setting than I thought when I watched the drama.
Cupid only helps you fall in love with the god who decides your fate and connects you with the thread, but love is short and has no effect on those who are destined to be connected. So, even if a threadless FL is connected with a thousand prayers, it will not be directly connected with Cupid. At least not in the beginning. Cupid knows that because of the destruction caused by her love, she cannot still look away from her. Given that Jung-ah passed away 29 years ago, and Baek Ryeon is 29, they are probably reincarnated as the same person. This may mean that Cupid has continued to have feelings for her unconsciously.
This drama is likely to focus on the will of love chosen by lovers rather than the thread of fate that God has made for a long time.
I hope this drama will tell this story well but the script is half great and half just so.
However, I believe that the chemistry created by the acting and appearance of the two main leads will successfully imbibe the drama.

Waste of time
Was this review helpful to you?

Very catchy romantic and fantasy series, with Jang Dong Yoon as ML & Nana as FL.
PLOT: The ML, Cupid, was cursed 500 years ago, for falling in love with a court lady (targeted by the king). He had to transform 29 times to undo this spell (cast by the God of Fate). He is almost at the end of his 29th transformation when he meets FL, a veterinarian, whose suitors all have accidents. She wants to cleanse this bad luck by going to pray 1000 times on a mountain. However, the CL reunion is disrupted by a serial killer and a police officer (the reincarnated king).PROS:
+ an excellent CL (Jang Dong Yoon & Nana), with very good chemistry and lots of kisses. JDY has still a bit of a poker face, but that fits the character.
+ the 2ary characters are endearing, well developed. I love Cupid who turns into a dog ;)
+ The story is creative, coherent, intelligent. We're left with plotholes at the ending, but it's not frustrating.
+ Good balance Thriller / Romance / Humor.
+ Good OST (It's a K series :)
+ Satisfying ending.
CONS:
- We once again have an all-powerful Villain and capricious and authoritarian Gods.
## The gods are obviously not benevolent in the Korean imagination...
*********************************************************

There's more things I dislike about this drama than like
As my heading hints, I wasn't impressed with this drama. Honestly, the only reason I kept watching was to find out who the murderer was. Unlike the romance, the murder mystery was interesting...when they got back to it. I was not interested in ML/FL's romance AT ALL. Here's what I didn't like:1) I loved this actor as Nokdu, but in this drama, he was an absolute sad sack, and I don't care for downer MLs. I couldn't get behind this century old love affair because ML obviously didn't want to be in love. He was forced into it by his own arrow. When ML is resisting for nearly the entire drama, how can you cheer for this couple when they finally get together? There was no chemistry because ML was constantly pushing FL away yet not giving her a firm 'NO'. Stop giving her hope, ok? Stop coming to see her at the vet, stopping protecting her from the killer, and for gosh sakes, stop kissing her! And ML was kind of dumb when he couldn't figure out that FL was his lost love until the hypnotist guy confirmed it. Then I guess he's okay with it since he hightailed it up the mountain and said silently to himself 'you're my woman'. Bleh. I really don't know how other reviewers can say their chemistry is amazing. It was tepid at best. I mean how can you build chemistry when we had to watch him mooning over two other women (yeah, they were supposed to be FL, but they had different faces so no, you can't build chemistry when you're kissing on Soo Hee and crying over the polka dot girl.
2) I hated how FL followed ML around like a puppy. I don't like dramas where FL is obsessed with ML, falls first or hero worships him because it immediately puts her at a disadvantage. I honestly don't know what she liked about this guy...other than he can't be hurt like her previous love interests. Also, the woman is dumb, ok? You don't go to an abandon warehouse by yourself because you get a text from the dead woman. You know there's a killer out there killing witnesses, you're the primary witness and yet you go ALONE to supposedly meet up with the dead woman. She deserved to have to crap beat out of her, ok? That's just plain stupid. I just would have liked her better if she wasn't so desperate to 'be loved'. It's pathetic. I understand that this is her first 'real' love affair, but she acts like a ten year old.
3) I 100% wanted FL with SML (the cop) but he did almost nothing to pursue her (it certainly wasn't much of a love triangle when one of the participants doesn't bother showing up) and ML wouldn't shoot that damn arrow to make her fall in love with him...even though I was screaming at him to shoot that arrow! If you can't hit her with the arrow, get the damn gun out, ok? And try more than once! Heck, the disapproving fairy/cupid could have shot her and saved himself the angst over ML's love life. Disapproving fairy was nearly as depressing as ML. It would have been more interesting if ML had shot her with the arrow & then regretted what he'd done.
4) Why in the world did they use a different actress for the two previous lives of FL? It made it seem like ML fell in love with multiple women when, in fact, it was technically the same woman. It just pissed me off to see him mooning over these other women. Sorry, I don't like seeing ML kissing other women. And, tell me, what was a grown man doing messing around with a school girl (1st reincarnation)? Ok, I suppose they had to do it so he wouldn't immediately recognize her, however, I think there was a better way to write this other than using different women. It killed the chemistry.
5) Falling in love by arrow. Yeah, I know that's what Cupid does, but it seems like a forced love rather than letting people fall in love with the person because they find something interesting about them (like the unattractive fairy & Do-Ra). The arrow love just seems shallow and superficial. I mean the only reason ML is hung up on FL is because he shot himself with his own arrow. Stupid. It doesn't seem like a real love at all so I couldn't really get behind ML/FL's love story.
6) The whole flow of the story seemed disjointed. It didn't have a smooth flow because it jumped around and introduced characters that weren't explained until later on (like the little kid).
7) The music was completely uninspiring and forgettable.
So, what's makes this drama worth watching?
1) Dong-Gu & Do-Ra's romance. Least two, at least, weren't hit by arrows. Dong-Gu was able to attract cynical Do-Ra's attention all on his own, which makes it all seem more sincere and authentic.
2) Dog fairy when he was in dog form. I mean, who doesn't love a dog, right? But, I didn't like the dog abuse in episode 14. Yeah, you don't see it, but it's implied. Use a cat instead or did FL only work on dogs?
3) I would have liked the cop/prince better if he'd actually made this a real love triangle, but he was too busy trying to discover ML's secret than capture FL's love. I felt sympathy for the Prince because Soo Hee was meant for him until that damn kid god & cupid got in their way. It's My Roommate is a Gumiho all over again. Her red string was attached to SML until that damn fox got in the way. BTW, I really like the red string of fate concept. It's so romantic; unlike those arrows.
4) The murder mystery, which was written a lot better than the romance. Unfortunately, it was overshadowed by all this reincarnation/cupid's love affair gobbledygook.
Overall, the drama wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. It was certainly nowhere near 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon', 'What's Wrong with Secretary Kim', 'W', 'The Healer' or other dramas from the 'Golden Era' of Korean drama. It's just a drama that you watch and then forget.

Satisfying Ending, For A Change
I was in need of a sweet, sugary ending to a series after watching a couple of less-than-satisfying shows. Jang Dong-Yoon is turning into one of my favorite actors, having really liked him in Like Flowers in Sand, too. I think this is the first show I have seen Nana in and I was struck by how sometimes she looked really attractive and others she was kinda ugly. It has been my experience that most Kdrama FLs are usually depicted as pretty all the time, even to the point of making sure that only certain camera angles are used. Some would say that I am too focused on looks, but, seriously, that's a major aspect of many Kdramas...dreamy music, looooong closeups on the attractive leads. I thought Kwon Ah-Reum and Kim Do-Ah were presented as more attractive iterations of the character. There were plenty of plot holes and strange twists, but the writer/director did a good job on keeping the main couple's relationship front and center so that the rest was just window dressing. Was this review helpful to you?

Make the screenwriter changing work
A WTF is necessary, because the screenwriter should change work. HTF is possible massacring in this way a nice story? Unbelievable! This show could have been a small gem if written by someone else. The idea is nice, and the cast did his best. But seriously: the plot is a nightmare. Cast well sorted, and capable. Also, the chemistry between the two leads is very nice, and Nana's simply stunning. Again, pity for the terrible plot making nonsense: the cast did not deserve such a garbage.Update: that "bye bye" led me dropping down from 7.5 to 6.5
Come on.... bye bye... jeez

CUPIDO QUANTO MI ANNOI!
