Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid (2027)

Set in 1926 during Japanese colonial rule, this Korean period romance follows Heo Su A, a 17-year-old maid sold into servitude by her impoverished family. After dreaming of a wounded whale, she discovers Kang Ui Hyeon, a severely injured independence activist, washed ashore and secretly nurses him back to health—risking her life in the process. However, a failed assassination attempt by his comrade leaves Su A mute. Determined to seek revenge, Su A travels to Gyeongseong, where she becomes entangled in the dangerous world of resistance fighters.
