Hope their new drama again together pushes thru this year again. They have good chemistry. I think it's a great story and good love team. It has alot of romantic scenes that will make sure your heart flutter. 100% recommend!!Was this review helpful to you?

Fell a bit flat
After seeing the premise of the drama during the Sweet On promotions, I was really excited and could not wait for it to air. In terms of positives, I liked the story even though it's not super original, it's still something that will interest a lot of people. The cast was fine for the most part. The male lead actor was pretty good. I did enjoy how it seemed to focus on the male lead falling in love and thought that was an enjoyable twist from most dramas. Now onto the negatives...The female lead is really not a great actor. I thought she was tolerable in Use for My Talent, but she really does not have much range and it bored me to death. Her character as well verged on the edge of annoying with her odd personality ticks that were overdone. The male lead's character was introduced as this mischievous, witty, and attractive villain which was enticing. But as the story progressed, he felt the need to transform into the female lead's ideal type a.k.a a vanilla love interest. So, with the boring acting from the female lead and now boring character of the male lead, the drama was almost unwatchable around the 2nd half. The cute, butterflies in your stomach moments were strangely dull? I expected to feel something, but I didn't. The secondary cast was okay, but they didn't contribute much and i just skipped their parts. Them getting married and having kids in the last episode was ridiculous. The actors looked way too young to be married let alone be parents. Edit: oh apparently it was all in her book and not real but I totally missed it because I just skimmed the last episode LOL. Still don't care for it though!
In terms of technical stuff, the editing was jarring in some parts. It would just cut at the weirdest times, and you would have no idea how it got to the next scene. The drama pacing was weird. It seemed episodic in the beginning but slowed down to a painfully boring pace in the middle and end.
Overall, it's an ok drama but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it or dedicate a day to binging it.

Pretty good drama
This was a pretty good drama. It wasn't my favorite, but it was different and evoked more emotion that I expected. The few kisses were clumsy, and I'm not sure if it was the lack of acting experience or the height difference (or even the lack of kissing experience) but it just wasn't good. The second lead couple was really good in their acting, but the story lacked the passion that I thought would be coming and never did. The third couple (the college couple) was adorable but didn't get enough screen time in my opinion. Also....I had a love/hate relationship with the mother. And why did they think it was a good idea to introduce Xiao Wu Di as Mao Xiao Jun to the audience? Did they change his name for identity purposes? Were the "real" parts of the drama also part of the novel? That last few minutes of the drama were so confusing to me. I thought they did a good job with explaining a lot of the story, but that part made me question the whole thing.

feel good all over
i had such a great time watching Mr. Bad. the whole thing seemed really fit one into another. this is where you can find a pure fictional story with some twists met with the casts who played the characters on point in a realistic ambiance and on top of that the motion picture soundtrack is the one that you want to listen to again and again. it instantly lifts up your mood. i should praise director Li who can find a set of people to work on her original writings beautifully. Mr. Bad surely will be leaving you feel-good-all-over episode after episode. there's no need to pay for an amusement park ticket, Mr. Bad is a simple entertaining drama you can enjoy from the comfort of your gadget. lei lei lei lei lei, oh!Was this review helpful to you?
Mr. Bad is the best CDRAMA of 2022!!!
Nan Xing, an ex-athlete and web novel writer, makes an accidental wish for her unforgettable love in front of Fairy Zhen's water fountain. Her wish triggers the summoning of the villain inside her novel, Xiao Wudi. Though she feels threatened by the clever and cunning Xiao Wudi, Nan Xing allows him to stay in her spare apartment next door. Xiao Wudi's annoyance at Nan Xing's summoning ability when she wishes for romantic gestures or help leads him to act as Nan Xing's love guru in hopes of returning to his world. Xiao Wudi soon finds himself falling for Nan Xing during their time together. Meanwhile, Nan Xing pushes to get a firm footing in her career and learns to open up her heart again. Mr. Bad is actually a very good drama that is enjoyable to watch with excellent chemistry between the 2 lead actors (Shen Yue and Chen Zhe Yuan). Was this review helpful to you?
Cute. Light Hearted. Bingeworthy.
I DEVOURED this series. Truly, one of the best ones there is when it comes to light-hearted shows.I loved how even if it's light with very little to no drama, the story still packs a punch. It was able to execute perfectly the merging of fiction to nonfiction (aka real life). I appreciate how it also focused on character and emotional growth and enjoying the present moment, rather than on love triangles or the usual business feuds. This is such a feel-good show that I'll be recommending it to those looking for something light, cute, and romantic. Plus, can I just say that the chemistry between the leads is just pure fire. From the first episode alone, I can't stop watching them. Definitely s show worth rewatching!

Simplicity
Love the plot and cast! Simple romcom, no villain, happy ending dan well written! Despite low budget production, the main cast can pull off the story in a right direction. Can't imagine if the role taken by other actors but this one really refreshing! I can re-watch for couple times and still enjoy it. Would recommend this to all my mutuals. If you look something light, fresh without doubt you can give a try for this. shen Yue acting skills much improved since ALSB Era and Chen Zhen Yuan also looking good with all his wittiness. Was this review helpful to you?

A story with charming romance, but with a potential that was not fully explored.
> SYNOPSIS: Mr. Bad is a romantic comedy with a touch of fantasy that tells the story of Nan Xing, a young writer who created an online novel with the protagonist Lu Zi Chen, inspired by her idol, and the antagonist Xiao Wu Di, a cunning and manipulative martial arts master. Although Nan Xing writes online stories, her biggest dream at that moment was to work at X-Culture as Lu Zi Chen’s assistant. After a job interview, she makes a wish at a fountain for an "unforgettable love'. To her surprise, Xiao Wu Di, the arrogant villain she created, appears in the real world. What starts as a chaotic situation turns into an unexpected cohabitation. As Xiao Wu Di adjusts to human life, Nan Xing begins to realize that her villain isn’t as bad as she once thought and love starts to blossom between them.> POSITIVE POINTS:
1. Chemistry between the leads: The real charm of Mr. Bad, in my opinion, lies in the relationship between Nan Xing (Shen Yue) and Xiao Wu Di (Chen Zhe Yuan). The two built a chemistry full of charisma, warmth, and sweetness. Their romance isn’t rushed, it develops gradually and naturally. It’s not an intense or fiery chemistry, but rather a balanced mix of tension, humor, and affection. Shen Yue brought all the cuteness and naivety her character needed, while Chen Zhe Yuan impressed with his transformation from a self-centered, egotistical character into someone protective and deeply in love. Their playful banter, subtle glances, and light-hearted moments helped shape a fun dynamic for the story.
2. Mother-daughter relationship: The relationship between Nan Xing and her mother, An Ni Na, was a refreshing element in the drama. Their bond was healthy, filled with mutual support, respect, and genuine affection (something not always common in dramas where family conflicts often take center stage). As the episodes unfold, we discover that An Ni Na isn’t Nan Xing’s biological mother, and that their shared past involves a deep trauma, still, their connection is strong. They live together in harmony, building a relationship based on love and trust, not blood. It’s a beautiful portrayal of family, free from excessive drama and full of gentle, sincere love.
3. Comforting plot: Despite the fantastical element of a fictional villain coming to life, the drama chooses a soft and sweet tone. The conflicts are light, with no major twists, and the episodes are filled with everyday moments that bring a sense of comfort. It’s the kind of drama that doesn’t demand much from the viewer, as there are no intense or dramatic tensions.
> CONTRAPOINTS:
1. Underdeveloped second couple: One of the more noticeable flaws in Mr. Bad is how the secondary characters, especially Lu Zi Chen and Ye Qing, are handled. As the second couple, their dynamic just didn’t click for me. Even though they had a decent amount of screen time and their storyline was coherent, their relationship lacked emotional depth. Their chemistry never truly sparked. Ye Qing is a charming character (strong, intelligent, and quick-witted), but Lu Zi Chen comes off as immature for much of the drama. His lack of drive makes their romance feel flat. Although the other supporting characters weren’t deeply explored, I felt they fulfilled their roles well and were satisfying within the context of the story.
2. Interesting themes that were underused:
- Literary villain comes to life: The premise of Xiao Wu Di emerging from a fictional universe and coming to life in the real world opens the door to unusual situations and deeper reflections—such as the contrast between different logics, language barriers, differing values, and the clash between fantasy and reality. However, this concept is explored more comically in the early episodes and is eventually set aside. Although the drama justifies his quick adaptation through his photographic memory and above-average intelligence, the script fails to invest in more meaningful development. It would have been interesting to follow more closely his process of dealing with human emotions, cultural differences, and the search for identity, as it would have greatly enriched the narrative. The only moment that brings this reflection between fiction and reality for Xiao Wu Di is when he discovers that he was created by Nan Xing. This moment, filled with impact and inner conflict, was one of the story’s strongest points.
- Mao Xiao Jun’s role and Nan Xing’s trauma: Mao Xiao Jun's presence, though subtle at first, becomes crucial as the drama progresses. He was Nan Xing's childhood friend and first love, who died in a fire while saving her. Since then, Nan Xing has suffered from trauma and panic at the sight of flames. The turning point comes when Xiao Wu Di discovers that he wasn’t brought into the real world solely by Nan Xing’s romantic wish, but also to help her heal. He was created with the essence and characteristics of Mao Xiao Jun, becoming a symbolic bridge between Nan Xing's painful past and her emotional recovery. This connection adds beautiful emotional depth, but it was underexplored. Considering the powerful themes of grief, guilt, healing, and love beyond loss, this storyline deserved more screen time and a more delicate development.
> OVERALL IMPRESSION:
Mr. Bad is a sweet drama that wins hearts through the charming chemistry of its main couple. The emotional warmth of the mother-daughter relationship adds depth, and the cozy storytelling makes it perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing watch. While it doesn’t fully deliver on the potential of its more ambitious concepts, it still provides a delightful and comforting experience. My rating: 8.5/10.

When your favourite wuxia bad boy male lead comes to your modern world
This is my first modern cdrama that I've watched and it has exceeded my expectations. The storyline is clever and very realistic even with the fantasy elements. The comedy is top notch and the male lead is fantastic in his role of wuxia bad boy with a soft heart. All the characters are very well written and fleshed out. There is good character development too.The main tone of the drama is lighthearted cute rom-com but surprisingly there is a mix of thriller vibes which made it quite unique. I love that everything in the drama makes sense, even the fantasy aspects of it. I'm a big lover of Wuxia so having that small bit of magic shown in the modern world was super fun to watch. There is a second couple who at first appeared to be boring but turned out to have quite an enduring storyline.
Certainly the best parts of the show are the romance, the unexpected plot twists and the chemistry between the main leads. It's absolutely worth watching if you are looking for a drama to warm your heart and crave a little bit of Wuxia magic.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED C DRAMA
This drama I noticed in IQIYI, very light romance comedy drama. Each episodes will keep you to binge watached,I loved how the leads can act funny, dramatic and how they interact in each scenes.
Undeniably, chemistry among the leads. Shenyue has strong chemistry among her male leads.
But her pairing with Chenzheyuan is on the TOP.
The OST was sang by them, they have a great voice.
Im hoping for more projects for them, as a budding actor and actress in China.
Again, this drama is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for me.
Congrats to all the cast of MRBAD, especially the director who chose shenyue and chenzheyuan as leads.
