It is a fairy tale type drama so there are things that are unrealistic but nothing exaggerated
And the acting of the actors and actresses is quite natural as it is hard to expect from this kind of drama.
Although it is said that Shen Yue always plays the same type of character, there is no doubt that she is doing well in whatever she does.I never felt she was overacting.
Chen Zheyuan, the character of Xiao Wudi is also very enjoyable. He is lively, withal,cute, he is not a romeo type character but caring enough, a bit naughty but not really bad. He suits his role well.
The second lead actor is good looking but the character seems to be very strict at first but later it turns out to be sad, his character is changing, but I don't like this kind of extra romeo character, I don't like to think of myself as a failure if I fail in love.
The 2nd female lead character is pretty good. Second male lead loves her so much even though she doesn't understand!
Nan Xing's mother who plays the character doesn't look like a mother but a friendly demeanor!
I'm already sick of seeing female characters look childish in Chinese modern dramas, at least I don't see it in this drama for now.
Fantasy dramas are characterized by dramatic elements amid unrestrained fancy, extravagance, caprice, eccentricity. This drama is not very logical so if you look for logic you will not get real pleasure but other than that everything is fine.
But the most positive aspect is the chemistry between the ml and the fl.

Omg , the humour and romance this drama holds is just so amazing. First impression is the last impression! From the 1 ep till the last I haven't skipped a part , usually I do while watching c dramas. The storyline is fab, the cast are so good🤩 watched this for shen yue and end up liking her more n moreGuys if you're in a bad mood just go for it!

Melting Icicle meets a not so pathetic female lead...
This was sweet, fun at times draggy at times... You may also need to know that this is a FANTASYI am a complete sucker for cruel, cold and brutally honest male leads, and this guy had it all.... The female lead was not overly stupid or pathetic and was actually pretty lovable most of the time. And the mother of this drama is probably one of my all time favourite moms... to add to this there are also a whole lot of gif worthy moments and fun/honest/absurd dialog.
And while some of the twists are highly predictable there were a few that did manage to surprise me... The side characters did not show any overbearing or annoying tendency so I should probably have rated this higher than I did but there was just something in there that was missing. Could be a lack of chemistry between the second couple, could be that the lack of "it" in the rest of the side characters and it could just be that some side storys seemed unnecessary and just deviated from the plot. Or some cringy dialog/monolog here and there... Or it could just be my mood and the fact that I had misjudged the timing to binge this and had to take a break in the binge... Whatever it was it affected the score of this drama that has more or less all I love in a drama.
P.S. there was also a hint of gay representation that flashed by in an instant but it was still there to make me happy.

Very cute story!
This was a super cute series!! But it definitely needs a HIGH cringe tolerance. The last 3 episodes were by far the cringiest - they were difficult for even me to get through. The story also lags by episode 20, so I had to watch the last few episodes at 2X just to finish the show.The acting was really good and carried the show. Chen Zhe Yuan is really good at acting with his body and his comedic timing is incredible, and Shen Yue is always delightful to watch. Together they were perfection.
The second leads were meh, IMO. Their arc was good but they didn't have enough chemistry to sell it.
Definitely one of my most enjoyable series, although the last few episodes really killed my excitement.

What I liked:-Both actors in the lead. I've liked them in other projects.
-You gave us a wedding at the end!!! Thank you so much, it almost makes all the time I spent watching this worth it.
-Cute, low angst, supportive mom, no triangles
-The lead couple were cute together, but I didn't feel a romance vibe from them. More like best friends.
-Happy ending.
Not so much:
-multiple really bad kisses.
-Lack of "couple" chemistry.
-I didn't care for the secondary storyline.
-2ML. Either it was written poorly or acted poorly, I don't know which.
-This could have been condensed down by quite a few episodes, in my opinion.
I will just acknowledge that I seem to be in the minority on this. Please don't come at me with hate, it's my own personal opinion. Maybe I'm jaded, maybe I'm impatient, maybe it's ADD, but I fast forwarded through most of this and STILL felt it went on too long.
But don't listen to my opinion, if you like low angst, fluffy romances, you will probably like this, it just didn't have enough to hold my interest.

ZHEYUAN AND SHEN YUE CHEMISTRY!
BINGED STRAIGHT THROUGH!! I’ve only ever seen ZheYuan in Hidden love, so you can imagine my excitement with seeing this style of acting for him. Sassy, fun, childish, arrogant! Both ML and FL chemistry was amazing. They felt truly like best friends and I love the fact that he fell first !The pacing of their romances felt really smooth And genuine and innocent!
Even the small things like when she had kept the secret from him and the way he ended up taking it.
I think the only thing I feel like was a shame to not have seen was more action! Ofc this isn’t an action drama however there was potential since he is a martial artist we only saw it a few times but i wish they used his powers a little more often.
it was definitely refreshing to see how well he handled the "real world" smart and strategic. "500 years in the future ? okay then." HAHA
In the end i felt leaving this drama really happy and excited to see what i can find next !

Yes guys i am writing this a little late but yeah this drama is definitely worth watching. Both the actors did a great job, its comic, their chemistry gives real goose bums. The character of fl is not cringy and she doesn't act cute but is cute as of ml acting is also top notch.The drama is light has proper story. There is no beating around the bush things. The 2nd leads might feel you boring but the mains wont disappoint you at all

A light-hearted drama with splash of fantasy and LOTS of fluff. YOU MUST WATCH IT!
Let me tell you how many times I skipped over this drama and I regret it so much now that I have watched. It was so much needed. I watched back to back dramas that gave me trauma or made me cry (I am seeing you, Fangs of fortune) this was absolutely perfect. Does it have logic? Not really. If you want a logic drama, then this isn't for you, but if you want a drama that doesn't stress you out and is filled with SO much fluff. This is for you! I loved the main couples, I love the second leads their relationship didn't need drama or anything. I love how minimal choas and everyone were such a green flag, including the people in the company ( It was so unreal. I wish it was as good in real life). It's such a stress free drama. You won't regret watching! I am cherishing drama like these because nowadays we get long boring dramas (no offense to anyone watching). I hope they make more rom-coms. I am in dire need of it. The actors really did a fine job executing their characters. It's sickeningly sweet 😭 CYZ is such a fine actor. Give me anything in him, and I will watch. I have never watched Shen Yue and only know she acted in meteor garden, but she is a decent actress. I liked her here a lot in here. I might want to watch her again. I loved this drama. It’s such an enjoyable show to watch. There aren’t any annoying characters whose sole purpose is to irritate the viewer or cause unnecessary problems for the leads. I really liked the main characters and how they developed. Nan Xing is a bit silly at times, but she’s determined to achieve her goals and doesn’t give up easily. Xiao Wu Di may seem like a villain on paper, but we quickly see his good side, and he gradually becomes a genuinely likable person - without losing his bold, mischievous charm. I loved their relationship from the very beginning. Not only did they have amazing chemistry, but there was also this natural ease between them - you could just feel that they genuinely enjoyed being around each other. Everything about their connection felt real, so much so that it moved me to tears several times.A huge plus for me was also the main heroine’s mother. An Ni Na’s character was wonderful and definitely one of the best parents I’ve seen in Chinese dramas. There was no unnecessary drama - just a sincere portrayal of a mother’s real love for her child.
Mao Xiao Jun was also a very interesting character, and while watching, I couldn’t help but wonder how his story with Nan Xing might have unfolded if the fire hadn’t happened. I’d love to see an alternate storyline about that.
And I’ll go against a lot of opinions here - I actually liked the secondary couple, Lu Zi Chen and Ye Qing. Their relationship was interesting to me, and I rooted for them quite a lot. However, that changed once she went back to being his assistant. From that point on, something broke. The dynamic became strange, their storyline felt shallow, and the proposal scene was just weird.

A Must Watch!!
Mr. Bad tells the story of an ancient fictional character, Xiao Wudi, summoned by a writer named Nan Xing, into the modern times.The plot was such a grabber. I have not yet encountered any similar plot since watching Chinese dramas or movies. Somewhat it was refreshing and sooo much enjoyable.
I don't think words is enough to commend this drama. It just captivated me big time. Maybe it was the acting of the actors or the plot itself, I don't really know since everything in the drama was so perfect. The plot was superb, acting was commendable, and OSTs are good.
I have seen quite a few dramas of Shen Yue and I can say she really is a great actress. No doubt about that but there is just something about her in this drama that makes it different. I love how she was able to pull her bubbly side in this one. I think she was not acting at all, she was just being herself and that makes it so much special.
For Chen Zhe Yuan, the only drama I have yet watched with him is the Hidden Love. I watched it because I got curious why is it so popular and I understand now why. Though, it never hit me like I got hit from Mr. Bad. I like Zhe Yuan more as Wudi, I must say. He was clearly enjoying every bit of his antics, which I love the most. It's like his a natural trouble maker in nature and just being as himself on the screen. I love it when he try to be cool but ending up embarrassing himself everytime LOL. Either way, Chen Zhe Yuan, drove me crazy for him after watching Mr. Bad.
For all the other characters, they are all so lovable. The second lead couples are adorable together with a nice love story plot too. Aunt An and all the characters in X-Culture was so fun and engaging to watch. And oh, the senior and junior trope love story of Nan Xing's friends are also very cute. Every characters and it's actors are so great no matter how tiny their appearances on the screen since their screen time are always worthwhile.
I definitely recommend this drama if you want a refreshing, light, and enjoyable watch. There was no toxic character in Mr. Bad and no villian so the problem was more of how can they stay together despite their worlds apart. Mr. Bad delivered consistently till the end without any single dull moment. Also, the leads are adorable with such a strong chemistry but not cringe and overacting. Mr. Bad is Rom-com drama with a touch of fantasy love story between an ancient fictional character and an ordinary writer that is yet to discover her real capabilities in the industry.

Please prepare your lungs and gasp for air before watching, for a lot of funny and embarrassing moments will be witnessed.

the love I have for thsi drama is impeccable. one day I stumbled on this drama on my homepage and didn't think much of it, "oh it's probably like any other time travel c-drama there's probably nothing interesting about it" OH BOY WAS I WRONG. I LOVE this drama, the love I have for this drama cannot be expressed by words I'm honestly SPEECHLESS, I wish I could watch it for the first time again. as someone who is not a fan of heavy plots in dramas, I think "Mr.bad" should be in your lists of plan to watch, the story it self is amazing, the chemistry between the make lead and the female is TRULY EXCELLENT I almost forgot they were acting. if you're a fan of heavy pot you might not like this drama as much as someone who enjoys fluff in dramas so YEAA. Warm, light, modern, happy, funny and heart-felt dramedy (drama-comedy) series. My happy pill! Just perfect! I can't get enough of this show. I wish it was a longer series. I wish there would be season 2....Perfect show! Excellent actors, good casting, very good story and direction!
