Mysterious Lotus Casebook

莲花楼 ‧ Drama ‧ 2023
While watching this I started to make a list comparing Legend of Fei's A'Fei/Xie Yun to Di Feisheng/Li Lianhua AS A JOKE and then it got TOO REAL and I had to stop lol. (Although in some ways she's more Fang Duobing than Di Feisheng.)

I can't explain in detail because spoilers, but: dao-wielding rough young woman from outlaw fortress background ventures into jianghu for the first time and encounters a jokey, rude, pretty man who's a bit mysterious and seems not to have any martial arts. Caveat: LoF is not nearly as well made as MLC. It's riddled with bad editing and dropped storylines and low production values, and the writing is nowhere near as thoughtful. It's pretty fun, though.

Similarities:
-A small group of people band together to bring an end to evil and learn truths about the past and themselves.
-Great martial arts skills.
-Very smart/slightly cheesy ML's in both.
-Both groups solve mysteries and get to the bottom of things.
-Comedy is ever present in both.

These two series cover the fight against oppression, the discovery of truths, and the adventure of solving mysterious and supernatural cases, and both also follow a delicate romance.

Both good bromance between a younger and older character. Mystery, hidden secrets/pasts, solving investigation(s) together. Both have fantasy elements and humor to help soften all the angst!

-Both have ml that has very good chemistry

Both are Wuxia adventures with competing sects and Joseph Zen.

HSDS is more purist Wuxia, with more and better fights. It's serious in tenor and do involve some romantic interests. MLC has a more consistent plot.

Cheng yi and Neo huo's bromance, with suspense and thrill. Mysterious Lotus Casebook, has good bromance like lost tomb 2 not only that it works with case solving stealling our heart.

Cheng yi's acting is gold doesn't let you let go of the drama.
It doesn't have any disturbing romance.

Deep Lurk has fast paced plot, everyone is smart and scheming, not to say most of them are secret agents and have double identity, haha..

Its also so trilling, so many strategies, traps and actions... little talk.

It has many mysteries to be solved just like MLC

If you like brain burning drama, try it out, you will definitely love it.

- Tranquility aesthetics,
- FL in TLOSL and ML in MLT are heroes that despite being frail are ready to defend people,
- calm and patient leads

Both *Mysterious Lotus Casebook* and *Kill to Love* blend suspense with martial arts elements. They feature intricate plots, intense action, and complex characters dealing with deep personal motivations, moral dilemmas, and the consequences of their past actions. Each story navigates power struggles within a world of hidden agendas, while exploring themes like justice, revenge, and redemption. The protagonists in both are skilled, yet emotionally conflicted, often questioning their choices and confronting dangerous enemies.

Yue Jin Zhao and Yue Qi lived together in Wuyan Village for three years. With an amazing "resonant" relationship, they knew nothing about each other's origins. They worked together to venture outside, wishing to get the old memories back. They were involved in mysterious events such as the rebellion of the Qihun Holy Sect and the Blood Sacrifice of Luojiabao, and in the process of fighting against the Holy Sect, Yue Qi suddenly regained her sealed memories and emotions...
