Simple, pure and touching

Ok i just finished my only 12pc and HEAR ME OUT. This series is just perfect.
But first, let me do what i always do: i really love Earth and their acting. When i watched uwma, i fell in love with his expressions, his so natural way of expressing feelings and his acting, so seeing him as a protagonist makes me so happy, and even more when he doesn't get bullied in the whole drama. He simply deserves the crown.
However, I have to admit that I didn't really know Santa, but he won my heart with this drama.
I've been waiting for this drama for so long and I really can't believe that I actually get to enjoy it. I've been following since they announced it, so I was just living off tiktok videos and promises.

Okay, now I can start.

THIS DRAMA IS PERFECT. For real. Everything about this is impeccable. The way they explore Eiw and Cake's youth in such a natural way, fears, friendship, complicity, and everything else.
When Cake starts to get interested in his girlfriend and pushes Eiw away, and Eiw doesn't know how to name what he's feeling but he knows he's feeling bad. When Eiw watched that movie with his sister and how he felt about and then when he told his sister that he felt the same way about Cake. These are some of my favorite moments just for the way they put it all together. Just real and natural.
I also loved how Eiw used the word "gay" BECAUSE HE'S GAY, he's not just interested in men, HE'S GAY. I swear, when he said that for the first time I cried.
I also love his friends especially Kung, Fee and Tah. The way Eiw could TALK to Kung and Fee and not be judged, the way they support Eiw all the time, even in university. They are my little angels.
Even when Cake goes to the US, everything happened so naturally, so real and so touching. The farewell scene and the homecoming, just tears in my eyes.
The only things I have to say that I really didn't like was the relationship between Eiw's sister and Cake's friend (disgusting) and Eiw's father after the funeral, I found it weak and totally emotionless. Nope, I just hated it.
Anyway, if I'm going to say everything I loved about this series I'll be here forever, so in conclusion this is my new favorite bl and drama, it's just clean, pure, sentimental and amazing. I just loved every second I spent watching it.

PS: I haven't cried so much in a long time ಥ‿ಥ

If You Ignore the Last Two Episodes this Show is Nearly Perfect

For the most part this series was absolutely amazing, though I’d advise against watching the last two episodes as they do nothing for the relationship between our leads and is mostly just one long ad against smoking mixed with heavy crying porn and unneeded melodrama that really hurt the tone, story, and pacing. There was SO much they could have done with those last two episodes but they went with THAT and it was just…unnecessary. You could end this show at episode 12 and miss absolutely nothing (aside from your own personal annoyance and aggravation).

That said, just because the last two episodes dropped the ball (and dropped it hard) doesn’t take away from the previous 12 episodes and just how wonderful this series was as a whole. Honestly, if not for the last two episodes this would have been a solid 10/10 for me and a fast favorite for sure. Their relationship and dynamics felt real. The characters were all charming in their own ways. This series was a showcase on: Healthy family relationships, friendship, and people acting like people would act in real life (i.e. there is a scene of a bunch of high school boys just acting like genuine high school boys which made me laugh and say ‘yeah, they’d do that.’).

While neither main was perfect and had their flaws, you could always see that their hearts were in the right place and really balanced each other out. Even during parts where I actually rooted against them being together (in the first half), I never harbored bad feelings for either lead and sympathized with them both equally because I could fully understand why each one acted as they did. All around they were just genuinely believable characters and all of their actions made sense given their personalities.

I will say in the second part there is a huge shift and their characters change A LOT, but given the time jump I found it refreshing as more often than not the characters never show growth after a time skip – they just pick up where they left off and I, personally, didn’t see that in this one. They both evolved for better and for worse – even more those changes in character were clearly shown, addressed, and discussed. A lot of characters showed great growth and maturity over the course of the series. Even when one of the leads cried, they still showed more maturity than some other dramas I’ve seen. It really shows that it’s okay to cry about something yet still be mature about it. Also, I loved that this show actually addressed sexuality instead of pretending as if sexuality doesn’t exist like so many others I’ve seen. It was so refreshing.

The only problem I had with the second half was that we don’t see how Cake’s feelings evolved from friendship to romance, but given this was mostly Seeiw’s POV, that made sense. Instead of having those two nonsense episodes at the end, we would have been better off with at least one episode that followed Cake’s character to see how he came to see Seeiw as more than a friend. Sadly, we didn’t get that. Even so, it’s still compelling and believable for his character/personality.

Honestly, I just really love this series. I just wish I could erase the last two episodes from my mind. This series deserved better than that.

I cried. A lot

How great to watch Earth and Santa again. Earth is an amazing actor who does very well in emotional roles. In this production he hit the jackpot. How to process the realization that not only are you gay, but also in love with your best friend? This was the best part of this series. How sad and wholesome at the same time. We don't get an insight to when Santa's character Cake falls in love or realises this, at least I didn't notice. He tells his friends after he has been away for years (a time walk instead of a time jump. Well done!). I would have liked to see more exploring of feelings.
What I liked: The wholesomeness. Great families, siblings and friends.
Good chemistry but little sexual tension. Just love. Loads of butterflies. The emotion is not too much although it's a lot. Earth is a beautiful cryer. Great side roles and an adorable side couple. Peak does not give up but is so sweet and respectful.
What I liked less: The lessons in disease and their causes. And how the father is to blame. Besides being blamed, he has not been in his kids life for decades but is welcomed back quite easily. That doesn't fly with me coming from a broken home. Santa/Cakes hair after he returns. Bleach gone bad.

Drama of the first gay young love. Does it hurt?

I've followed this BL closely. I had no idea about the time setting until episode 4, where they watched Love of Siam (2007). So this series setting could be in 2007-2008. Love of Siam was popular at that time in Thailand, baiting straight audiences into thinking they went to the cinema to watch straight romance. The movie marketing techniques focused on showing boy-girl couples, but then boom, it was boy love. Love of Siam, indeed, is one of the best BL movies Thai ever had.

Back to My Only 12%. In ep 5, Eiw shared his feeling with his sister Hom. This scene would be powerful, noting Earth was really trying hard to pull it through to make this scene believable. But, his co-actor, Hom, was not at the same level; she was a bit flat. Hom failed to show the deepness of her sympathy and cares for her brother. Maybe because she is still new in the industry, I hope she gets better.

Rin is still being kept. We have not seen her, only one or two scenes so far. But she already created conflict by indirectly affecting Eiw and Cake relationship. Rin made Eiw realize that one way or another, there will be people coming to their small happy relationship. Rin is new to Cake, and Cake seems hard to manage his priority. But, I don't blame Cake because I think for Cake, Eiw is just a really close friend or like a little brother. Most teenagers will go for his/her love interest over their friends, and most friends will understand if their friends bail on them because they are catching a girl/boy. This is a long series (14 eps), so, I think we will see Rin more in the future to contest Cake and Eiw's relationship.

We just knew Sand from ep 4. Sand is still a mysterious guy. So far, he seems to be a perfect boy in terms of his attitude. There are two routes for Sand. One, the director and writer play dirty on him by twisting his behavior to turn to be a bad boy. And somehow, Cake will be a savior for Eiw from Sand. If this route will be chosen, the implication of Cake and Eiw's relationship will be Cake, the boy who stays with Eiw because Eiw is too vulnerable to be alone in this cruel world. The second route is, Sand stays a good boy with very clear about what he wants by showing his love interest to Eiw. We've seen this route from Bas (ITSAY). In this story, Sand's job is to challenge Cake to win Eiw over. Even though (from the title) he won't win, he needs to complete his purpose. I think Sand is a perfect opponent for Cake. If they choose Sand to be a good boy, it will be interesting to see how far Sand can go and how his presence can impact Cake's emotions.

Lastly from my note, while the story keeps intriguing and developing, the production seems backward. The color tone becomes inconsistent and visual assets for the location become too redundant. I hope they will manage to up their production quality game like the earliest eps because we still have like 9 eps. Overall, I am happy with this series. Keep up the good work, guys.

Listen, I know the series is still ongoing, but I am already a fan!

Without any spoilers, to start with, I love the whole finding yourself journey or coming out story, and this series depicts the reality of so many people(it's not always a smooth ride or a fairytale).
I love the plot, the first few lines in ep1 give you an insight into the foundation or background of the story (PS: it made me so excited), and how earth brings out EWI'S character, he makes ewi's experiences and emotions feel so real and relatable, which creates an amazing rapport with the viewers, I also admire ewi's restraint, and I like the tension and relationship between the main leads or characters,(by this I mean it was easy to see them as good friends/brothers and also easy to see them as something more "kind of like the seamless duality of emotions")
the intro music gives a nostalgic feeling that builds the plot. I look forward to the upcoming episodes.

DROPPED
It's basically a BL in 2022 trying so hard to bring back all disgusting and superficial representation about gays and gays relationships which we fought for so long to get changed . There's no plot, it's poor writing. All we see for 9 episodes is the gay "Seeiw ", fragile like a flower, giving all of his live to his confused straight friend "Cake", who said on episode 12 that he is going be gay for him" lol, having it said, there's no need to watch 2 left episodes to know that's going be a mess. Honestly, a love of siam wannabe in 2022.

Only good point : Earth and Santa acting skills, it's just a shame that it was all wasted.

It is so exaggerated that it is becoming exhausting

We have here a story of ordinary high school students who discover love and who, as they grow up, come to have different desires and paths. It's not very innovative but why not.
The problem is that everything in this series is exaggerated. The main characters, first of all, are too much: one is ultra whiny and childish, the other is stuck in a stereotype of an unrefined teenager but with a tender heart. The story then, which lingers too long on their umpteenth existential questions. The secondary characters too, totally inconsistent. Finally, the acting, really exaggerated, especially from Earth, who got us used to better. It's probably not helpful to cast 25 year olds as 15 year old teenagers.

In the end, it doesn't move forward, it's too predictable and I find it badly constructed. I ended up giving up.

I only gave this drama a 12% chance

As the title says " i only gave this drama a 12% chance". Let me be honest with you i watched this up to a certain point and then i dropped it because i just cant take it anymore!!
I tried watching this thing out but i just cant!!!
I am accustomed to watching bls where by time episode 3, 4 or 5 the mcs already kissed or already fall for each other, but this beats all bls i have ever watched. I saw some reviews on this bl saying that its so good, and definitely a 10/10 and stuff but u must learn never to take what others say seriously and i am a 100% sure that most of us who watched this bl only endured all this just for santa 😏😏😏 ( i know he is so finnnnne!!!!XD) but all that aside what i dont like about the series is that it was too slow, like i thought before cake left he would have fallen for seeiew or at least kissed him but damn the things i had to endure and my patience was wearing thin !! I cant understand how before cake left he only treated seeiew as a brother even when he left not knowing seeiew had feelings for him and cake finally came back after how much years and suddenly fall for seeiew 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
Someone should explain that to me ??!!!
They took like about 8-9 episodes before they even kissed
Second i heard alot of good things about earth but damn is behaving like a child one of them??? I find it hard to believe he is like 27 or 28 and behaving like that !!
And plus i heard ppl talking about the last two to three episodes there was a no smoking campaign advertisement
Lucky thing i didnt watch it till to the end

In conclusion if some of you bl lovers like a slow burning, soft bl this is it for you but this is just not my cup of tea!!

BEAUTIFUL series about friendship and love

I was really surprised by this series, I love it, I haven't expect that I did, but I love it. This is so beautiful, warm story about childhood friendship which turns to love. I think that it is so wonderful because of the cast and amazing acting.

I love Santa and Earth, they are the best... they are really very good actors, they were so natural together, that I could watch them all the time. I especially like Santa, I saw him in another series and he was completetly different but also amazing. There is this "something" in him that I enjoy very much watching him. I don't know how to dercirbe this "something", he plays the role brilliantly, he can be charming, cheerful, sad and in all this he is convincing even though he is very young. He is really a very talented actor, I love watching him.

I must admit that all actors did a very good job, they played really well. I thought that this series would't be interesting because the plot was about highschoolers, but it turned opposite... I just couldn't stop watching, I was laughing, I was crying, I felt all emotions.
This is a MUST WATCH series, really. 🥰🥰🥰

Just comforting but not much happens

I personally enjoyed watching for the most part but it did have some issues.

Nothing much happens, everything that does happen is very much predictable. Nothing necessarily bad about this, it had great potential to become one of my comfort Dramas. The beginning was super slow but both characters acting really made most of it worth while.

My biggest issue was what was supposed to be the climax/breaking point of the series. Everything leads up to this one moment and to me they kind of underdelivered? Everything afterwards was sort of unnecessary too and didn’t really add anything much to the story overall… before the last couple of episodes I would have likely given an 8. But the way it turned out that just wouldn’t sit right.

Overall I still enjoyed watching this and I did actually cry actual tears which was nice. I don’t know if I‘ll ever rewatch though.

IT HOLDS ME ON CHOKE

The BL series mesmerizes and enthralls its dedicated audience with its compelling narrative, weaving a tale as intricate and captivating as a finely crafted tapestry, rich with the unbreakable bond and undeniable chemistry shared by its characters. Beginning as childhood friends who gradually transition into passionate lovers, the series embarks on a profound exploration of the intricate dynamics within their evolving relationship, showcasing the skilled finesse with which each twist and turn is expertly revealed in every meticulously crafted episode. The meticulous attention to detail highlights the exceptional craftsmanship underlying the plot, drawing viewers even deeper into the intricate web of emotions and leaving them eagerly yearning for the unfolding of each new chapter, each new revelation.

Among its myriad strengths, a sudden and heart-wrenching event, the unforeseen departure of the beloved maternal figure, introduces an unexpected jolt that momentarily disrupts the harmonious flow of the otherwise captivating storyline, casting a fleeting shadow that lingers, altering the overall impact. Despite this temporary narrative stumble, the series continues to shine brightly in its portrayal of love and relationships, etching a permanent imprint on the hearts of its viewers. The raw, unfiltered emotions and the genuine authenticity radiated by the characters serve as a lifeline, forging a deep emotional connection with the audience at a visceral level, infusing the story with a tangible sense of realism that deeply endears these characters to those who watch.

This BL series emerges as a rare gem within its genre, destined to occupy a treasured place in the hearts and minds of all who are touched by its tender embrace, its lasting legacy a powerful testament to the enduring impact of its heartfelt journey through love, loss, and the profound connections that define the human experience.

Incredible show

I absolutely adored the show. It become one of my favorite BLS of all time! Cake and Eiw had such a good chemistry, and I fell in love with Cooheart. The way Cake was always there for Eiw helping him with his insecurities was so adorable, and when they had to separate it was absolutely heartbreaking. I have to admit that I cried, and that never happened before when it comes to watching BLS. The closest I’ve come to crying was when I was watching “Love in the Big City” (2024).

But I really disliked the last two episodes of the show. In my opinion they brought unnecessary drama causing Eiw’s mother to die of cancer. They could’ve just let the last 2 episodes be happy and show the relationship of Cake and Eiw evolving as boyfriends.

In the end, I really liked the show.
