My Only 12%

I love Santa so much! so I'm definitely not unhappy I watched it but this one is I guess not to my taste.

You know I love Earth too, especially in UWMA and I m following them as a couple on it IG and watching them all the time but this series itself is severely lacking.

I mean I can handle a little bit of cringe lol but showing a grown man act like a teenager, namely Earth in Eiw's role is just cringe on another level as his completely uninteresting character.

I just don't like the whole anti smoking bs either.
it becomes too much.

The thing is putting Earth in this role was just a bad idea. It's not that his acting was bad, but the direction and writing was not great and just didn't make an impact on me apart from a few scenes.

Favorite Slowburn Bl Series - already have rewatched

First off Santa is so freaking cute and adorable in this series. I think people forget that this really is how it feels to have that high school angst and love-anxiety. After sitting with this series for a couple of weeks now, here’s what I can say:

The chemistry is THERE. They writing did a great job at portraying exactly how it feels like to be in their situation. In every episode I asked myself “hmm, would I have done the same, if I had a secret crush on my lifelong best friend?” And honestly my answer most of the time was “yeah, I probably would have”. This is a slower burn series which is not to everyone’s liking but if you can stomach the wait, it’s worth it.

I usually get bored with some of the too slow to burn series but I felt as though this was perfect. They really took their time to tell everything, even during parts of the series where you feel a bit lost, you know that it’s intentional (they want you to feel that way) not accidental.

Earth really is a phenomenal actor in this series. Santa did an amazing job as well, but Earth had so much emotional dialogue in each episode - something that’s really difficult to handle on and off camera for actors. I gave this series a 10/10 because after rewatching this show, there’s only 1 episode I didn’t really like but that’s more because of the topic surrounding that episode rather than the episode itself. Everything else was perfect, the pacing, the casting, the music, the cinematography, and the acting was terrific.

Just go binge watch it!

Lately ive had a harder time finding BLs that i can binge watch without skipping some more cringy scenes but this one hit home. We obviously love Santa and Earth together and i feel like this is their best yet (that i have watched at least) . There are many cute moments but dont be fooled. Its a pretty deep and intense drama. The storyline is phenomenally done and the acting is amazing, as to be expected. And let me just say their "intamate" scene is one of the best i have seen whille still being tasteful. And when Santas character (cake) speaks in english to Earths character (see-ew) .. i mean.....lol The conflict between characters has really great resolve and bring tissues. Seriously. Youre going to need them. We also get to see a tiny bit of Prem so thats always a win.

It's not slow, but it's thorough.

Only light spoilers, nothing big.

This series was never high on my list until I loved Santa in P10L and had to watch his back catalogue of work.

Instantly this became one of my all time favourite series. It is slow in that each plot point is really dealt with slowly and authentically. Things don't magically get fixed or become better. Everything seems realistic, all the difficulties and all the celebrations are relatable. Its set in the 1990s-2000s and when the two main characters get their first mobiles, it's fun to watch them have to top up so they can send messages. They see the wonder of MSN Messenger. And as the audience we get to see what effect these have.

I'm not good at reviews, sorry! One thing to know before you go into it, if you wish to, is that it doesn't contain any NC scenes. There are lots of kisses and cuddles though - LOTS! I'm normally a 'more naked the better' viewer so for me to say this, it's a big deal, but I didn't need the NC. Watching the emotions comes through was enough.

The entire cast are excellent! I was a little irritated by Seeiaw's whining sometimes because for me, as an English person, it was very nasal and whiny which I struggle with. It wasn't a big deal though. His actual crying in the sad scenes was excellent - the acting from Santa and Earth is Oscar-worthy.

I know I'm going to watch this again already!!

A really intimate and beautiful slice of life

Before you start watching this you MUST know that is a real slowburn, if you are not a fan, than you'll probably be bored. But also I, particularly, am not a fan of slowburn but this one just sits so right.

The best thing about "My 12%" , in my opinion, is the Coming of Age and Slice of Life aspect of it, you see Eiw and Cake grow and how this growth changes their really strong, deep and also pure friendship, one that I may say, is one of the most beautiful ones I have seen in this kind of genre. Their relationship make this drama feel so warm and intimate that is really hard for you to not get involved.

Earth and Santa just went above and beyond with their acting and chemistry. I could read in their foreheads what Eiw and Cake were feeling, and this is really powerful. Even if for a lot of people Eiw was somewhat annoying for the amount of crying, I didn't see as something really out of place, Earth had so many moving, touching and powerful scenes and he really delivered then very well. Santa also did a beautiful job portraying Cake (the bed scene destroyed me and it's mostly his fault).

I didn't bother with the confusing time and the scenario details being out of the timeline (like the fleabag poster), but one of the things that I call a downside for the drama (that made it not be a 10 / 10 for me) is the plot on the last 2 episodes. The 13th episode wasn't even that bad, but the 14th was just a stretch of it and I got bored. I felt it was a little bit out of placed, and disconnected with the main story and plotline. "My 12%" should've been only 12 episodes, with a good wrapping, like we saw in the last minutes of episode 14. The other one was the bad writing on Eiw's confession scene, Cake's lines could have been way better then what they were, but it didn't made me hate the scene, however made it not be as good as it could been.

In the end, this drama made me feel A LOT and I loved watching their chemistry and intensity on screen, Eiw and Cake are one of my favorite BL couples, not gonna lie...

BEAUTIFUL, SENSEFUL, TRAUMATIC BUT RICH DRAMA

The story is basically talks about a life and a love of a person who happens to be a gay and fell in love with his childhood friend or should I say Babyhood friend. This drama brings back the nostalgia of growing up, school days , awakening, discoveries friends and dreams. See Iw and Cake grew up together, and has included to their life to take care of each other and unconsciously grew up loving each other and together they face the truth of growing up, studies, friends that seems to be everything about their world but they have chosen at the end to love each other even if people might see it as unusual, even if it is only 12%
The story was divided in three major events, first Seeiw and Cake's growing up and High School days, I am really amazed how they have shown this part, the boys that have nothing to do with each other but to hit each others head and laugh, play sports, games and do the assignments late, people can really relate with it because in that part, not being able to hang out to each other and not able to do the assignment seems the only problem in the world and it seems so big deal that time, time when we all have not seen the reality of life, there are two groups here, one are the softy group and the other is the violent group HAHAH Cake and his friends, that's really how it is ! See'iws group are those that are studius that ended up having Cake and his friend copy their works when they ask for it, but it was only Cake who does that. And the part when See Iw watched the Gay movie and realized he was that same as of the character in Love of Siam, that was so sad for him because all of those times he did not know that what he feels was being gay and that's why people tease him, that seem probably one that broke my heart like it is as if he chosen to be gay, why would ever be the world that cruel , See Iw was so innocent, thankfully because of the people around him he did not felt different at all, specially Cake.
The second part or second event was when Cake and his family went abroad, there we have seen that It was the hint to cake that See Iw likes and loves him more than of a childhood friend specially when See iw Kissed him good bye, Cake was shocked but he maybe got happy back then to know that he is that important to See Iw where he always complains he isn't 🙄 and when Cake came back and See Iw grew a lot and made a lot of friends, conflicts and misunderstanding has leveled up, Cake realized that things are not easily resolved with saying sorry only as when they were high school. And the Last part was when See Iw's mom died and they had to face the reality of life from then on, having only his brother and Sister and off course Cake and they will do everything to survive in life.
This probably the most unusual but beautiful first love story I know, Unusual because I think See Iw and Cake's closeness and taking care of each other is not quite normal of maybe 1 out of 10 is the probability, luckily See Iw has Cake by his side, every time Cake and See Iw argue and See Iw begin to cry , that is Cake's weakness, he quickly grabs See Iw and hug him and say sorry to him, that was really beautiful, I got butterflies in a deeper way with them, I mean, gays like See Iw are mostly what really gays are, they are skinny, weak and too girly just like me so this story or portrayal was something that is so so true in life that I can relate mostly in all of parts and being of See Iw .. but not him having Cake .. I'm jealous. I don't know why but my favorite parts here was during every Arguments and Jealousy of Cake and See Iw , those scenes really got me and made me drawn into this drama.
The drama was kinda traumatic, I am just exaggerating with that but during See Iw and Cakes conversation before Cake goes abroad, It was so so sad , I cried a lot and I was not able to continue watching to cope up, and also when Cake and See Iw again argued about The senior at the theather or maybe that Cake thought See Iw has changed until Cake got drunk and so much crying, it was so painful, I so felt everything See Iw said specially when he said to Cake that when he was with Pilin his girl friend during their high school days, See Iw has not said anything even though he didn't want Cake with Pilin, and now that See Iw is not seeing anyone but just busy improving himself and doing what he likes, coming out of the comfort zone, Cake was over reacting and becoming unreasonable--that See Iw only liked and loved Cake and waited for Cake only and improved for Cake only.. that was Daamn AND ! It was not finished with that actually, when See Iw's mom died ! I was reminded about my mom, she also died so I really know how it feels, thanks to this drama I suddenly came back to that pain of loosing a mother.
Two thumbs up for every actors here, Earth so so good actor and Santa, he made me like him too , salute to all of them. The cinematography was great and the drama did not felt rushed, every episodes just felt enough and felt right. My most memorable scene was when See Iw did not want to date Cake because he knows Cake isn't gay and See Iw is the only gay, but Cake said , if it is that so, then He will be Gay with See Iw .. like OMG how to find someone like Cake !
There was not really so much lesson in the drama, it only opens up the reality in life in your eyes specially in a life of a gay, also that in life you can never really get everything that you wanted and that life is full of surprises, the important thing is that you learn to enjoy each day coz every thing shall pass away, so that you would have a good memory when you are old. All in all such a Gem drama. This is the perfect time for me to watch this, really! . It was released 2022 and I watched it 2024. Well see you again See Iw and Cake 👋

I adore them, but there’s 1 major ick

THINGS I LIKED
1. the plot // as basic as the high school/university bl/gl storyline is, it’s still good. The main difference with this show and others is that there will be a “military” (I’m not sure what the word is sorry) training.

2. the couple // they are absolutely adore, they stole my heart. I’m a huge sucker for cute romance stories and ugh, they stole my heart.

3. PREMMMMM // I LOVE PREM WITH MY WHOLE HEART, I WILL LITERALLY DO ANYTHING FOR HIM. WHEN I SAW HIM ON SCREEN I GIGGLED, HE’S SO PERFECT.


THINGS I DID’T LIKE
1. Earth’s character // don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Earth. But I hate that he’s playing the typical soft boy, save me all the time, I can’t live without you; type of character. I hate bashing him like this but it’s true :’)

Superou todas as minhas expectativas

Essa série não é apenas mais uma, pode acreditar. Ela é uma experiência única, onde você vai navegar por diversos sentimentos diferentes, entrar na história e se apaixonar por cada personagem.

Iniciemos pelo roteiro, que obviamente não é perfeito, mas o Studio Wabi Sabia sabe como trazer nossas emoções à tona através de belas histórias. A história mostra (minha opinião é um pouco impopular) um Eiw totalmente dependente emocionalmente de Cake. A interação entre eles, me passa a impressão de que o amor romântico sempre existiu, eles apenas demoraram a entender isso, pois já que cresceram com esse sentimento, o tinham como algo natural. Por causa disso, penso que, de forma não intencional, Cake fazia com que Eiw fosse dependente dele para tudo, até mesmo coisas triviais como pegar um ônibus ou voltar pra casa sozinho. O único momento em que eles se separavam era dentro da escola, pois Cake chamava muita atenção com seu rosto belíssimo e seu jeito cativante, e Eiw não queria olhos voltados para si, o menino não tinha confiança nenhuma, e achava que a presença dele poderia "manchar" a imagem de Cake, que absurdo!

Já Cake, posso ver nele traços tóxicos. Por tudo já dito no parágrafo acima, e por sua reação quando percebeu que Eiw não era mais dependente dele, tinha amigos e conseguia viver sozinho. O ciúme não é um termo que por si só explique o comportamento dele, a palavra certa, diante do exposto, realmente é toxidade.

Enfim, Eiw percebeu primeiro os sentimentos... A cena dele vendo Love of Siam já me arrancou lágrimas diversas vezes. Cake percebeu depois... Ou será que não? Que amigos dormem daquela forma? Quem prefere estar com o amigo do que com a namorada? Quem zela e cuida do outro mais do que a si mesmo?
Apesar de tudo, quando ambos entenderam a si próprios, o relacionamento fluiu de forma leve e linda!

Algumas histórias paralelas são contadas, no fim elas se interligam de alguma forma com nosso casal, mas gostaria de frisar algumas. O fato de Hom se apaixonar por um garoto mais jovem, e a série explicitar o preconceito a esse respeito, o fato da série falar sobre o tabagismo e suas consequências de forma séria (só achei que poderiam ter iniciado esse tópico mais cedo para poderem falar mais), a romantização familiar, isso é algo que detesto, quando a mãe de Eiw morreu e levantaram a questão de perdoar o pai pq ele ainda era o pai, oras usasse qualquer outra desculpa, mas sangue não isenta ninguém de falhas, nem tampouco é motivo para perdão, principalmente em se tratando de algo tão grave. Todas as emoções são transmitidas de forma muito real, é possível sentir a dor, a alegria, a mágoa, a esperança, cada emoção é magicamente transmitida para nós.

Outra coisa que amei, foi a interação entre as familias sobre a homossexualidade dos meninos, não houve estranhamento, cara feia, problematização, nem tampouco dos amigos.

Todos os detalhes são bem casados, tanto a história, como a atuação e os aspectos técnicos. A filmografia é maravilhosa, no início, dá um ar de antiguidade às cenas, que realmente se passam alguns anos antes, depois a imagem se moderniza, juntamente com a idade dos meninos. Existe uma riqueza de detalhes que remetem ao passado na primeira fase, os computadores antigos, os detalhes nas casas e nos transportes, tudo muito bem feito. A ost é delicada e também ajuda a contar a história. O elenco tem uma química surreal, como se cada papel tivesse sido escrito pra quem o interpretou. Sobre a química de Santa e Earth, creio que é um assunto indiscutível!

Impossível não amar essa série, está no topo das minhas preferidas... Não deixe de ver essa obra de arte.
