Q carries this
The time for my first review has come because..what did I just watch? Let's deconstruct this, one category at a time.STORY
Where? What story? I suppose you can argue it's a university slice-of-life type of show, that follows this wacky friend group and their shenanigans, but overall the story is flimsy and barely there. There's a lot of pairings too, which might mean you'll end up skipping a lot if you're not invested into a particular couple, as this is an ensemble cast and they all get equal screen time, more or less. Anyways, the catalyst for our main pairing spending time together, the moment of falling in love if you will, is a swift kick to the balls. Beautiful, be still my heart. Hilarious.
ACTING
I meaaaaan...I stand by the title. For me, Q's character carried this. The way they wrote his character was pretty fresh and unusual for the genre and the actor who played him did a great job. My guy is the chillest, most laid back dude, with humour and straight face delivery in spades. The rest of the cast was...fine? Passable? Nothing to write home about, basically.
CHARACTERS
Listen, listen..I get it, I do. If you're like me, you probably found it ridiculous that Peem fell for Phum during the slave contract thing because..who does that, right? Then again, Phum was nothing but nice to him lol. My guy got fed, walked around the mall, driven home and taken care of after a night of drunken debauchery. Yeh, he had to do a thing here and there, but I feel like they clearly wrote all of their earlier scenes from a very indulgent perspective, where the things Phum does to him are very mild and forgivable and come from a place of "I like you, but I'm 5 so I'll pull your pigtails on the playground". Anyways, my problems lie with Peem, really, because...tease much? I'm sorry, in real life, I'd hate Peem with a passion.
Whether the character was written to be allergic to affection or that's how Phuwin decided to play him, it was frustrating to watch. It was like every single thing Phum did to show him he cared, Peem was like.."brother, ew". But supposedly, he liked him back. Their dynamic was weird to me - Peem would forget Phum existed the second they weren't sharing a scene.
I liked Tan and Khaofang's relationship better. Is Tan over the top, clingy and would be uber annoying in real life? Yes, but they were cute together, it worked for me.
SKINSHIP
I'm firmly of the belief that if you can't do it right and make it believable, you might as well skip it. The kissing was giving *nothing*. For the love of god, what is up with the cheek kissing too? If I had to see one more lips firmly pressed together cheek kiss, I'd have started writing my thesis on why puckering is important.
LE: I am an ignoramus and just found out about sniff kissing and its significance. Won't delete this as others may have the same reaction as I did so ..passing the knowledge forward. It's a cultural thing and a sign of affection.
I've seen other shows that depict relationships and use zero skinship, but make the affection and intimacy look so incredibly believable that you feel like you're intruding when they're in the same room in a scene - here's looking at you, 180 degrees. My point being, if you don't want to do it, just don't. Find different ways of showing the same thing, swapping spit ain't the only action in this world that hints to attraction.
Overall, this was..not the hyped up series I expected, very mid. But if you must watch it, do it for the pretty believable depiction of a tight group of friends in college.

If you are looking for found family genre with comedy, this is for you.
This is one of best cute bl show. i really really liked how the writer and we are team portrayed every emotion + relationship (friendship, lovers, brotherhood) in this series. Watch it guys, you wont regret it. but dont expect a plot or something story. it does not have that, its just full of friends having fun, taking care of each other, having bbq parties, being cupid for others and love.Spoiler Alert(?): I really liked the friendship between Q and Peem. they were always and almost there for each other. Q would act like tsundere but when peem needed him he would always be there. same goes for Peem, he might act like he's done with Q but the moment he noticed Q is going through something he eould be there to comfort his bestfriend.
pondphuwin - Ngl but i really liked pondphuwin acting in this one. i dont understand why others are hating their acting but to me it was good. and damn phuwin is so handsome, really liked his visual in this one. at first i did disliked ponds character for that mall prank but once i saw how he apologized and felt guilty i felt it was ok. their chemistry was also good in this one.
FanTang/AouBoom - do i even have to say anything? we all know how good of an actor they both are. they nailed their every scene, from micro to mini expressions ، everything was on point. Fan type of boyfriend i think every girls wish for, atleast i do. the attention to detail when it came to tang and his needs, like boy was down bad for teerak and he made sure everyone knew it. I really wish there was a jealous scene, i really wanted to see fang jealous, like serious type of jealous. and i wish the writers focued more on how fang was also dealimg with his childhood traumas caused by father and family high standards and expections. i do understand fans saying that fang was not that inlove and involved in rltnship as tan was but looking from his perspective, fang father and his family never allowed their 2nd son to express his thoughts and emotions and on top of that at a young age he had to be a father+brother figure to ponds character which made him shut himself down as the older brother shown to be abroad or somewhere else and we could also see ponds character seemed more comfortable and expressive with fang. yeah we never really saw him communicate and express his feelings but he was also there for tan and he did love tan as at last episodes we can see how he was possessive of tans gift (purse), wouldnt allow anyone to touch even accidentally. he never knew how to cook but learned how to cook spaghetti because it was tans favorite. he was more of a acts of service guy.
FangToeyPun - these three trio, it was so funny when fang would scold toey and pun and both wouldnt dare to even breathe loudly infront of him😂.
QToey - i used to be satangwinny but now for me its winnysatang. we got to see Winnys serious and tsundere character at first but the moment he started liking toey he became less tsundere. like the type whos grumpy for others but not when it comes to his sunshine. they portrayed grumpy x sunshine character so well.
chainpun - throughout the series progress i was rooting fo chain. my boy went through so much for pun to notice his feelings and i think for him it was worth at the end kiss😂. Tun was being cupid for almost every couple except his. my boy was so busy making sure every ship sailed he didnt even realize he himself was not making his own ship sailed😂.
Beer - my beer was tired and done with every couple bullshit. in almost every crime scene he was there to witness it😂. i also liked the friendship between him and phum. being there for phum and giving him advices.
I would say to viewers dont listen to others and just watch it. it has got that found family feels, comedy, romance, little bit of bromance, fluff, so much fluff, little bit of angst, jealousy, brotherhood, friendship forever feels. In the era of intense emotions bls, this is one of the best lighthearted bls, no extreme and over dramas, just pure fluff and flufffff.

wholesome cast with a genuine bond
i think they did well casting all of the boys together cause it seemed like one long long class trip. however, as much as i like them all the the show, it could’ve been shortened. it may be an unpopular opinion but sixteen episodes were a lot. it’s not that i didn’t enjoy it, it just was a tad bit long.thank being said, it was a nice distraction week after week and i was hooked most of the time. you were able to breathe through your weekly chaos during the episodes. longingly waiting for that aou boom lead series… it’s about time.

Was this review helpful to you?

Just love, nothing more yet nothing less
This series is a mixed feeling between old series and new ones. As for the story, is just a group of friends who find love and friendship at university age. Nothing more, yet nothing less.I couldn’t understand why GMMTV —after creating so many masterpieces this year— decided to go on an old way to make the series. They added too much sounds for reactions, making it unrealistic and unserious. They made so many “jokes” they weren’t necessary just not to make it serious when it needed some silence. I don’t know why, it just felt like the early years of BLs.
The story itself was just so easy, as the main character started finding each other and developed feelings for the other. So I’m gonna start with the couples.
As you can clearly see, the real main couples —even if they all are shown as main— are PhumPeem and QToey, even if my favourite couple from this series was TanFang.
As for PhumPeem, I’m gonna say that I couldn’t really feel the chemistry between them, and that even if they had some good scenes, for me, some seemed like forced and fake. The beginning of their story about the slave and all that stuff was so outdated, but at least I felt that they did well with the development of their feelings for each other…, even if sometimes I couldn’t buy it. Not talking about the kisses, ‘cause Phuwin didn’t want to open his mouth, so I couldn’t really be into the scene whenever it came. Even so, they were cute and I’ll always love them because of Fish Upon The Sky and Never Let Me Go.
About QToey, I would say that their couple promised so much and I really liked the idea about the post-its and how they fall in love through letters. The only missing thing —again— is the seriousness we needed between each other. Because they were so cute and good together, but then, after saying a beautiful phrase, they had to start chasing each other or running away “joking” and doing stupid stuff.
As for TanFang, my favourite couple of the series, is a unique kind of couple in BL series, as one of them is so obvious showing his love (which is usual), but the other one is so freaking in love with him too and smiles at him with adoration and cuteness, seeing his baby’s love so brightly. I also loved that they weren't like the classic “top and bottom” (which I dislike) and when you see the “NC scenes” you cannot really tell who does what… Also the kisses where in another level from the rest of the couples from this series. I loved that even if Tan’s character was so playful and carefree, he also knew how to get not serious but helpful and caring whenever the situation required it. He was my favourite character so far and I really found in him the man I want in my life.
Soooo as for the last couple (sorry they deserve that name as their story started in the last episode 5555). ChainPun for me, was the couple I didn’t really saw together at first, as maybe they were just playing around… after seeing Pun that (sorry) stupid in the first episodes…?? I don’t know why, his character developed so much… I think, and I started to like them together. But the only real thing that I liked from them was their final kiss. THAT’S THE KISS ALL THE COUPLES SHOULD HAVE HAD!!! Thank God we had at least one. They did so well, I laughed and smiled equally as I saw them kiss and their friends’ reaction.
As for the rest of the series, I would say that I expected more change between Phum and his father as Peem asked him for it, but I guess they did well as not everything and every change happens that fast. I liked they showed it as an important thing and as an effort Phum made. My baby did so well.
Things to highlight from these would be Aou’s acting. It felt so natural, even if it was all so overacted, it was part of the play and it looked great, just as you know how he can make a serious one… I love him so much.
So… this series was just cute, full of (gay) love (as they all are gay???? What the heck bro??? 5555) but just fine, easy, without heartbreaks or broke ups or depression… It is good to find this things sometimes if you want so smile.

New to BL or LF Youth, Healing & Light?
The random funny sound effects are unexpectedly delightful and add a charming layer of fun.Beyond that, the show radiates a warmth that explains why it’s so beloved. Although a few awkward scenes pulled me out of the show.
It’s still a good recommendation for anyone looking for a light, youthful, healing or new to bl.

Watch this at least once!!
I have to start by saying that this was a story with a different dynamic even though it looks like a typical university thai bl drama. All the actors were soo good, especially Pond and Phuwin because I love them! The part that I like most about this drama is the comedy. The sound effects makes it even more funnier!! The storyline was simple, not complex or confusing at all. I also love how this drama is friendship oriented and how it shows the brotherly love between all the friends. The drama kept me a hook every Wednesday and was worth watching every episode because each eposide had its own highlight. Unlike a typical university bl , 'We are' felt different because of the acting and the storyline. Between the story the unexpected kissing scenes were sooo gooddd.. I feel like the actors did their best and the chemistry between the couples were good. Although I still think that they could have added more kissing scenes! LOL .Overall the drama is good, not the best but still good and simple. Feels more like a friendship based story and the comedy is soo good. Watching this drama is worth it!

Still waiting to see how this ends
This show had so much potential and it still does maybe but... this show has too many leads, I high key wish it wasn't so focused on everyone. Idk why I didn't expect it to be this way when the description legit states a group of friends. They need to add the tags for multiple leads & multiple couples, I wish Pond and Phuwin had their own show, I found myself skipping most of the other couples/other leads most of the time. I really want to see Phum and Peem's characters romance develop more but they haven't had the chance to due to the group aspect of the story this show was written in. I hope in the future Pond and Phuwin get their own show without focusing on to many leads taking away from the story in my opinion. I will keep watching until the series ends and I will update this. As for right now, the show is dragging along with character/relationship development. Was this review helpful to you?
Navigating Youth and Friendship
The series centers on a group of friends navigating young adulthood, exploring themes of friendship, love, and personal growth.Chemistry Between the Actors:
A standout aspect is the palpable chemistry between its lead actors, especially PondPhuwin, WinnySatang and AouBoom. Their on-screen dynamics are electric, bringing realism and depth to their characters’ relationship. From the first episode, they captivate with their natural rapport and effortless synergy. Whether sharing heartfelt moments or engaging in playful banter, their chemistry enhances every scene.
Character Development and Interactions:
They convincingly portray the journey from initial acquaintance to deep emotional connection, making each phase feel authentic and well-earned. Their scenes together are highlighting the strength of their bond and providing a solid emotional core for the audience to see.
Criticisms:
Despite its strengths, “We Are The Series” has notable flaws. At 16 episodes, the series feels unnecessarily prolonged, with too much filler content and insufficient plot and conflict. A tighter narrative spread across 10 to 12 episodes would have made for a more cohesive and engaging story. Additionally, the direction is inconsistent, with some episodes lacking cohesion and fluidity, which can be jarring and detract from the viewing experience. The series also suffers from plot holes that can be distracting, leaving unanswered questions and unresolved subplots. Rush editing leads to abrupt transitions, disrupting the narrative flow and diminishing the emotional impact of key moments.
Impact on the Series:
Despite these criticisms, the series remains highly watchable (proven with continuously becoming #1 X trending) and emotionally engaging, largely due to the cast’s strength and chemistry. Their performances add authenticity and depth, making the emotional highs and lows more impactful. This connection enriches their characters and enhances the overall ensemble dynamic.
Conclusion:
While the series faces challenges with its episode length, inconsistent direction, plot holes, and rush editing, its portrayal of on screen couples relationships and the vibrant, nostalgic depiction of university life make it a standout. This series will resonate with anyone who fondly remembers their own university days, filled with the ups and downs of young adulthood.

WE ARE in love!
We are, a long awaited series of mine. Not only did it include one of my favorite ships, PondPhuwin, but it also awoke a love for AouBoom.NOTE: If there happens to be mistakes, I apologize. I currently have nails on and I haven't gotten better at typing on my phone, therefore I used speech to text. Please inform me on if I made any mistakes!
ANYWAYS! Let's get to the review :)
We Are is my series that you don't LOVE, but can't stop watching. Some may disagree BUT, We Are wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Although it had its rough spots, they also had moments where I couldn't stop watching.
Phum and Peems story started when Phum accidentally kicks a ball and it happened to hit Peem's artwork that he had been working on for the museum showing in his department, which he studies Arts, if that wasn't obvious. A furiated Peem punches him which leads to Phum being upset. Phum pressures his friend to show him where Peem is. Once shown, Phum wants to make a deal. He offers for Peem to pay money, but obviously, he doesn't have that much, therefore there is an agreement where Peem must be Phum's slave. As they hang out together Phum suddenly realizes that this is more than just an agreement, he's developing feelings.
Their story was good, thats about it. As much as I love these two together, considering how much I love Never Let Me Go, them too in this just wasn't it. It wasn't like their chemistry wasn't good, or their acting wasn't good, it was just the script and the storytelling that made it go downhill for me. About a few episodes in, I don't really remember which one, these two kiss, but it isn't until almost the very last episode that they get together. It's understandable if the writers didn't want to put them together right away, even after a kiss, but to drag it out so long that they don't get together, even though we know both of them have liked each other for however many episodes, is too much. Overall I'd give this a couple about a 7 out of 10 because of the dragging. Nothing about them was bad, it was just how the story went.
Q and Toeys story began before the present day. Toey had known Q before Q knew him. Thekr back story, long story short, Toey had liked Q since before, leading him to want to go to college for Arts. Here, Q is Toeys mentor. Again, as the last two, they begin to hang out together, and this relationship turns more than just a mentor and a mentee.
These two, as much as I loved them in My School President, this.. this just wasn't it. I don't know if it was because I just didn't feel the chemistry this series, or if it was because I felt like their scenes were repeating, but I found myself beginning to skip almost every single scene there were for them. If you love Winny and Satang then I'm sure you will love this pair, but they just weren't for me this series.
Tan and Fang.. MY CUTIES!! Tan had liked Fang since before the first episode, therefore he asks Phum, Fangs brother, to set him up. As the story goes on, these two develop a romantic relationship early in the drama. I don't really have much to say about them when it comes to their story because I felt like they weren't shown as much as the other two couples that have been mentioned.
As mentioned, these two, along with the next couple I'm going to mention, didn't get much screen time in my opinion. Honestly, I liked this couple and the next couple I'm going to mention more than the other two. I felt the love between Aou and Booms characters. I had seen these two only one other time in Hidden Agenda. I have loved them and hidden agenda, but I think this drama may or may not have made them in one of my tops of GMMTV couples. When it comes to them and their story, I feel like it was one of the best out of these couples.
Chain and Pun. Best friends who felt like they were never going to become more. I would give a description of their story, but there's not much to say. I'm not saying this in a way that I'm saying I don't like their chemistry or friendship or anything, but oh boy, did these two make me doubt that they were even going to become a couple. It wasn't until about the 15th episode that we finally got a hint of them possibly ending up together. These two are so cute, but I felt like they barely got any screen time. Pun is such a cute character, and I'm so excited to watch Poon in more dramas, but other than the fact that they were cute, we got nearly nothing from them. That doesn't make me not love them, because every single scene that had them in it, I was sat. I hope to see these two in another drama together, where hopefully they actually have screen time and don't get together the very last episode. (also, in need of more MarcPoon!!)
Whats an unexpected couple you didn't expect?? 👧👂🫷
THATS RIGHT!!! Matt and Mick!!!
Although they didn't really end up together.. With that scene in ep 15, (or 14..i can't remember, it all begins to blur after ep 10) I'd like to imagine they have something going on. ANYWAYS!! They're cutie and I hope that someday we'll get a special episode and confirm my imagination.
In all, this series was full of comedy, youth, and of course, romance. Although it wasn't the best, that doesn't make it the worst. It dragged, but it had good moments. Although, it could've been packed into 10-13 EPs, I'll still appreciate what we got. Lets meet again in the future, We Are.

Beginners would enjoy this show.
We Are (2024) is a great show, especially for beginners in the BL genre. The cast is fantastic, featuring popular pairings like PonPhuwin, AouBoom, and many other amazing ships. The series mainly focuses on four couples, and although I thought it would be hard to keep track of their names and storylines, it turned out to be fun and easy to follow. One small disappointment (spoiler alert!) is that I wish MarcPoon had more screen time, as they only confessed at the very end, along with another sideship. Despite that, it was a delightful series, and I’m hoping for a season 2!
