AND NOW I HAVE TO WAIT FOR A WHOLE WEEK TO SEE WHAT HE SAID! its sooo annoying. BUT ANYWAYS I REALLY RECOMEND THIS SERIES, ITS SAURR GOODDD!Was this review helpful to you?
Going to miss these Wednesdays a lot
This is one of the best shows I have seen this year. I've enjoyed it a lot.If I was stressed one day and needed to clear my mind, watching the show weekly was a good help. That's why I like series that are broadcast every week and not all at once. One thing I want to clarify is that not just any series is good for this, if one is boring or doesn't catch your attention you don't even want to keep waiting a week to see what happens. With We Are this happened to me, I looked forward to every Wednesday to find out what would happen and, most importantly, having fun watching it.
I really like the couples and actors that appear here, none of them seemed boring to me, I especially loved the couple of Tan and Fang, I didn't expect Aou and Boom to have such good chemistry.
On the other hand, I didn't dislike the songs, I love the song truth in the eyes by Pond and Phuwin.
To sum up, I really liked the image quality, I think it is very well crafted and helps you follow the series easily.
Thank you We Are for being a part in my life now.

Strip away plot, character development, drama. Leave only the sweet moments. That is We Are.
If someone asked this avid BL watcher to identify a series that he deemed “peak BL,” I would have to give serious consideration to We Are. This 16-episode series from BL-factory GMMTV follows two distinct friend groups of college students as the groups come together. (Make your own pun there.) Despite a real kicker of a testy first encounter, Peem and Phum are clearly destined to fall for one another. As Peem and Phum grow closer, their previously discrete friend groups blend into one joyously happy group of pals. Yes, folks, that simple premise may well qualify as the exemplar of a BL series. It strips away any semblance of storytelling to deliver a series of vignettes: slice-of-life vignettes, really, that double as a testament to the easy-going college life many older folk recall as a golden era of fun, happy days. The series boils these scenes down to the most basic tropes, tricks, and tics that distinguish BL from other genres. Boys fall for other boys. Side character boys pair up with other side character boys. No one ever finds it surprising when boys fall for other boys. The net result is a series that delivers a progression of scenes that serve no narrative purpose beyond inviting viewers to watch these boys merrily pair off. Most such scenes yield maximum impact in the area of warm and fuzzy response. Since the series is a product of the GMMTV assembly line, it also features an OST replete with fizzy music performed by the cast members. To watch any episode of We Are guarantees coming away feeling happy and bouncy—what is more BL than an endorphin rush?We Are is peak BL because about all it offers is the characteristics outlined above. The writers sheared away extraneous concerns. Such as, for instance, a proper plot. Or complex character development. Or contrived drama arising from such reliable genre staples as jealous women, prolonged disharmony arising from (comedic) miscommunication, or parental resistance to the heroes’ dating choices. (Honestly, does anyone miss these elements?) Even the rich boy x poor boy motif is mostly absent here, aside from a contrived “be my slave” storyline that sets in motion the whole shebang. (Peem isn’t truly poor, however, just unable to pay that particular bill.) In the absence of these customary genre artifacts, We Are serves a steady diet of treacly moments between boys smitten with one another: scene after scene, episode after episode.
Frankly, it works. The series delivers the endorphins BL viewers expect, and it does so consistently. Only the most demanding viewers—the ones who want food for thought to accompany their sweet confections—will lament the gaping hole where dramatic or thematic complexity would normally appear. We Are aspires to none of those trappings, so to fault it for those absent elements would be churlish. Likewise, I could observe that a low-budget Vietnamese series like Under the Oak Tree (whose 10 episode-run aired concurrently with the final ten weeks of We Are’s sixteen-episode broadcast period) features a quartet of male characters who individually exude more queer authenticity in any one episode than We Are’s eight leads can muster across sixteen episodes and four same-sex couples. But what would be the point of such complaint? GMMTV mass produces BL series because straight girls lap up watching cute young men fall for another, not because the studio cares to make a statement about being young and queer in present-day Thailand. Making an entertaining BL series does not require any of the four couples anchoring We Are to represent some grand point about what it means to be gay. The winsome actors need only to mug at one another at the appropriate moment to send viewers into a swoon. (Just to be clear: old, jaded gay men enjoy swooning when young men fall for one another just as much as the target audience of young straight women.) We Are delivers exactly what it promises: sweet moments between young men falling in love. This reviewer will cite no fault for succeeding in that endeavor.
If We Are has any particular claim to genius, it would be the depiction of a friend group. Arguably, Peem’s and Phum’s respective friendship networks attain more significance throughout the 16-episode arc of the series than any one of the four relationships it portrays. In that sense, We Are departs decidedly from “peak BL.” In this genre, the lead couple’s friends are seldom more than ornaments to the main couple’s story. Here, the various couplings function ornamentally to the larger circle of friends. More specifically, We Are’s secret sauce stems from inviting the viewer right into the friend group. They have slumber parties. They have drinking parties. They stage surprise parties. They have victory parties to celebrate myriad triumphs. They go together to a theme park. They travel to a volunteer service camp. They travel from Bangkok to Chiang Mai for more excursions. In the finale, they travel to a beach resort (which, in true BL fashion, is owned by the parents of a group member). After all that togetherness, any viewer would have to work hard not feel as if Peem’s friends are also their own friends.
Much of the credit for the effectiveness of a BL series where friendship outshines romance must rest with the director, New Siwaj Sawatmaneekul. In the absence of a proper plot with a through-storyline, New succeeds in getting the viewer to invest in following the friend group’s passage through their college experience and, for most of them, the onset of first love. As best friends do, these buddies routinely adjust their interactions to suit a moment. On a moment’s notice, they can alternate from razzing one another, to supporting each other in moments of insecurity. They are as apt to call one another out as to root for one another. In many episodes, the friends verbally express how important the friendships are, how happy they are to know each other. Their conviviality seems believable because the actors are totally at ease with each other. GMMTV famously recycles its performers. Sometimes repetition can work against a series, but here the performers’ familiarity with one another from earlier projects pays off with a friend group whose bonhomie feels genuine, almost palpable. “Every day is a memory, precious and true,” proclaims the first line of the theme song. And, frankly, that sentiment explains both what We Are aspires to be—a depiction of precious memories about a precious time in life (college)—and why it succeeds—because the friendships feel true.. Precious? Absolutely.

standard thai college fluff
this is not a very good written review because it's late but oh well.I definitely did not expect to enjoy this standard thai college drama so much but I do! And I am pleased to say that pond's acting is much improved this time! I just kept watching because it's sosososo fluffy!
I seriously am in love with phuwin's character, although boy if you don't get your shit together with 'oh idk if i like him but i kissed him 4 times already so idk'.
I liked that this time the actual university work seems to have an impact on the character's lives and philosophy, and is not just an accessory as is often the case for thai bl university dramas. I'm also very happy that this is a relatively long drama. It's definitely worth watching if you love thai college settings with a lot of fluff and if you love the pondphuwin pairing (i know i do now), but don't expect anything original or new. It's all the faces you know and love in a familiar setting.
There's not a lot of depth to it, but not every series needs to! Some plot points were a bit repetitive and overused (sing your love: please stop) so that also brings the score down but they compensated for that by making the couples very sweet.
I enjoyed the whole friend group dynamics, it really felt like just a bunch of dumb college students messing around. I wish we had more scenes with Matt and Toey though, they underutilised JJ's talents!
Like any other GMM series they overused the OST. At first i hated it, then i loved it and then i hated it again once they used it for every freaking second that seemed to be kind of hinting at romance like c'mon. Use anything else, PLEASE!
I absolutely need aou + boom to have a leading role in their next series because OH MY GOD!!! THEY ARE SO NARAK TOGETHER!!! I CAN'T DESCRIBE IT ANY OTHER WAY,,,PLEASE GMMTV LET THEM HAVE THEIR OWN SERIES. They carried this series so hard!
I hope GMM will try to expand their stories more and let their actors grow as creatives as well!

I LOVE IT.
I was so deppressed last week and then i choose to binge watch current available episode of We Are (Yes, I've been marinate it for awhile) and than BAMMM suddenly life's feel worth living again The plot actually quite simple (which i really love, cause i don't like heavy stuff). And the comedy it's top tier! Kinda make me wants to rewatch Fish Upon The Sky huehehee. And the fact that they almost got the same cast got the nostalgia poin up to 10! The character that got my love most is Kaofang, i think he put a spell on me you guys! I never really got drawn to Boom's character! But in here he so charming <3 ehem back to serious bussiness, the acting its getting better i think. The OST its on repeat! This series have not been finish yet but i can't wait for their next project! Yes you can say i'm being greedy!! HEHE.Was this review helpful to you?
Great Cast. Simple Story. University Life. Falling in Love
I've read and heard many disparaging remarks about Phuwin and Pond's acting ability or lack thereof, so I want to briefly touch on that. Bullsh*t. They are both great actors at least by Thai standards. Acting is craft open to interpretation so I am definitely not pushing my opinions down anyone's throat.I did read one review that said Phuwin relies on acting tricks. I've taken acting classes and I've seen many a series or a movie where even the finest actors awarded with high acting awards use tricks. Its part of the business and its also something directors direct actors to do to get their vision across. Is it murky. Depends on your own take.
Unless a person is aware of foreign acting classes and what and how they teach or what they are expected to convey via workshops and director notes or writer input one can not actually judge. But again it is only opinions.
About We Are. This is a simple story and even the simplest of story have complexity. Each couple here have a certain dynamic.
PhumPheem: They are not in a relationship yet. But their attraction is evident. It's simple. With the appearance of Title as Kluen we will see.
QToey: A seret backstory where their love started without even meeting with one having more information than the other even if it's not a wealth of information. WINNYSATANG are delivering a great chemistry and their acting improve with each episode.
TanFang: This one for me is the worse because one seems less than caring and the other cares too much. They are a good ship so I hope their on screen coupling becomes more than one sided. Tan is so over the top. He's hilarious. While Fang is very aloof.
ChainPun: Nothing much just a couple of intense stares and ear nibbling. Cute but they are not getting enough screen time.
These are my opinions and mine alone. I shall not argue about them with anyone. It's an enjoyable series. But it is GMMTV I wouldn't expect Shakespeare or something more deep. It is Thai BL so it is what it is.

The perfect romantic comedy.
I am not a fan of comedy, because most of the times when they mak a comedy they try to hard to make it funny. The best comedy is like this one, when it is hilarious just because of simple funny sounds, remarks and gestures. This isn't a complicated story, but for me that is not always nessasary, a simple story can be so refreshing from time to time.
This is just a simple drama about love, family and friendship. The friendship these guys have is so heartwarming, i loved it!
For me Tan and Fang stole the show. The first episodes Tan anoyed me a bit, but from the moment he and Fang got together i adored him. They were so adorable together, i loved it!!
Q and Toey were also good together, chemistry is not great but good enough to make them work. The serious Q combined with the happy and energetic Toey was great. How Q softened and loosened up bit by bit because of Toey.
Pond and Puwin are just great together, the chemistry is very good between them.
The least interesting couple for me is Marc and Poon, i am not very impressed by their acting (also in Perfect 10 liners) and there is hardly any chemistry between them..
This was the second time watching this drama and i will definatly watch it more times in the future. It's just a great feel good drama.

Best couples

The simple life of cute university students
"We Are" is a slice-of-life drama, a drama that some may describe as "healing" content. The image that comes to mind when thinking about it, is a river, something that flows naturally and steady, without any huge obstacles, that is relaxing to watch. I am writing this so you don't go into "We Are" with the wrong expectations: it is a lot of silly fun at times, but it's more of a drama that simply wants to make you feel good. Its whole plot can easily be summarized in a few words: two groups of friends connect with each other, go on small everyday adventures, and some of the friends fall in love with each other and have a lot of fun. So yes, no huge problems that stand in their way, instead you watch some great friends live their life and find their happiness along the way.
Now whether you will enjoy this drama or not depends very much on what you want to get out of it, what your expectations are. I started watching right before it had ended and binged all the episodes within a few days. I am the type of person who loves some fluffy content and who doesn't mind a more relaxed type of drama, and thus all of "We Are" very much appealed to me.
So what did I like? The positive portrayal of the friend group, the way they are so supportive of each other and their happiness. How even in their teasing you can see the fondness they feel for each other. Soft moments of understanding and romance that get mixed with the silly humour of some young guys who have known each other for some time. Some chaotic moments that end in more laughter. Great chemistry between the partners in each couple. The way that each couple feels different from each other: the teasing type of relationship, the lovey-dovey relationship, the slowly blooming type of relationship, a cat that falls in love with his puppy.
If you are the type of person who needs something positive in their life, something to lift you up when things get dark, I think this is the perfect type of drama for you. Just follow these friends along on their ride through university life, through their personal life, and it will give you a well deserved distraction, a massive boost of happiness.

I liked it
It was so chill and like not so much drama , it felt natural (for me) and it wasnt like SPICY SPICY but it was enough , PondPhuwin look so good toghether like i even cant , i wish i had a friendgroup like that , but i wish that we saw more of aouBoom jealousy like in perfect 10 liners but more with Boom because i think it would fit. The backstories are so cool and they really put the enemies to friends/lovers into there. And like it was fun to see Boom also being really cute alone with aou and the beach scene was my fav <3.Was this review helpful to you?
