Namie says that she wants to marry Toyama even though he has a father who needs care, but Koichiro objects. Meanwhile, Yuta continues to feel jealous of how close Momoko and Daichi seem. One day, through an unexpected turn of events, Yuta and Ryohei end up visiting the home of Shimokawa, the boyfriend of Koichiro's employee Miyoko. Shimokawa is a young man who, after graduating from university and landing a job at a major company, quit and has since been living a carefree life without steady employment. His motto is, “A lower-class lifestyle is more carefree than an upper-class one.” Influenced by him, Yuta and Ryohei begin living a lazy, unmotivated life at home. Momoko scolds them for their behavior, and Koichiro tells them, “Have big dreams.”
On the other hand, Koichiro is desperately trying to make his store a chain store for a major company. He spent his days bowing his head repeatedly to company representatives just to make a deal. Yuta and Ryohei were disillusioned when they saw Koichiro like that. Momoko also made fun of Koichiro, but Kaori scolded the children for their behavior and told them, "It's wonderful that you have a father who works hard."
