I LOVE TIME TRAVEL GENRE
I’m really loving this BL series! I’ve always been into time travel stories, there’s just something so intriguing about them. Sure, some of the back-and-forth scenes can get a little exhausting, but honestly, it feels necessary for the way the story’s told, so I don’t mind too much. The series never feels boring, and the plot isn’t predictable at all, which is a huge plus. I’ve gotta give props to Kris, his acting is spot on. Gawin also did a great job! The chemistry between the leads isn’t exactly mind-blowing, but it still works. It feels natural, not forced.
One of my favorite moments has to be the scene where Pisaeng shows up at Kawi’s apartment, on what was supposed to be his wedding day, kisses him, and confesses his feelings, that scene made me giggle.
In my opinion, Be My Favorite is a solid watch, especially if you're into stories with a bit more complexity and depth.

This drama always come at recommendation section. So I finally just decided to watch this. Quite happy to watch this....Kawi is a person that's always had Inferiority & low self-esteem, cause he's always didn't have enough money & that's also affecting his social life. One thing that Kawi regret the most from his university days is he has crush for Praemai for years, but never dare to confess his feeling. And one day, he received wedding invitation of Praemai & Pisaeng Jirawarakul. Unlike Kawi, Pisaeng is a popular guy at university.
When Kawi received the wedding invitation, he recalled back his feeling for Praemai. He looked back one broken snowball, that he intended to give her back in university days but couldn't due to it's broken. Now he tries to fix it before giving it to her for wedding gift. While he tried to fix it, he met one grandpa that said he can fix it. He did fix it & also giving a little surprise for Kawi, which can transports him back in time to the age of eighteen. Upon realizing it, Kawi determined to change his future with Praemai. And his journey begin...
The funny thing about playing with time & future. U can't guarantee u get what u want when u change the past. Kawi tried to fix his relationship with Praemai & a few times he turn it back to the future to see the result. And much like summary said, instead kawi fix his relationship with Praemai, he find himself closer & closer to Pisaeng. And kawi relationships with Praemai get worse & worse over time, and Praemai future herself also getting worse & worse with each changing. And unfortunately the time can't turn back for the second time. How Kawi gonna fix everything in the end...? Haha... U need to watch it urself...
Enough with the drama. Now what i like about this drama.
+ Kawi is interesting person. He seem selfish at first, but he can reflect himself & fix it to make everything better in the end. He dares to admit his own feeling & mistake & embrace the result in the end.
+ How in the end Pisaeng also experience the feeling going back to the past. How & when...? Stt.... U need to watch it urself. Haha...
+ The interesting changing relationship between Kawi & Pisaeng.
+ Praemai is one positive woman. She didn't self pity herself & don't hold grudge. She's one good friend.
+ The interesting concept of butterfly effect. How little decision that Kawi made really effect & changing the future...
Overall this quite good drama that can teach us something... Below is a little SPOILER!!! Read it with ur own risk.
==================================================
SPOILER ALERT!!!
==================================================
What i don't too like:
- Everyone characters seem a little shift everytime Kawi time travel. Like in one future how Knot & Kwan having secret affair & that's continue for long period until Praemai & Knot wedding, while Praemai didn't know about it cause Kwan didn't said anything all those years. But when Kawi return back to the past Kwan decided to tell Praemai about her affair with Knot. Maybe due to the change in chances of relationship between Knot & Praemai. But I mean the shift character here is Kwan, how at first she kept silent, but later she more honest to Praemai.

It was a little off and then IT WAS ON !
The plot seems a little tacky and clumsy at first when there wasn't enough background info (intended; yet didn't do a good job to secure the audiences' attention and understanding) and the way Pisaeng developed affection for Kawi was too easy (but that's how love works). Despite that, from around episode 4 onwards, the plot made total sense and was very logical (if the audiences are logical and empathetic enough to undersand the writing). It became real, sympatheticable and understandable.I especially love how the series targeted multiple points of philosophy and humanitarianism. It was just right (not overdone), impactful and digestable. I was given a chance to look at multiple new aspects of life through the writing. Also, the couple's progress through friendship and love was so interesting and so cute. They actually built a realistic and believable love progress, no big gestures, no going out of boundaries and I absolutely respect that because love stories in real life aren't majestic.
However, the only plot hole I find to be brain-itching is the time traveling of Pisaeng. On episode 12, He traveled back to the day he first turned the globe in Kawi's room when they had just received acceptance from Pisaeng's mom. So on his first try with the globe, where did he go ? What did he experience ? How did he feel ? Did he affect anything in the past and the future ? So...that took down a point.
Despite all that, i praise the two main actors heavily ! They kept it real and made it lively. I fell in love with the chemistry between them and cried for them when they fell apart. The two really delivered a prominent yet dilemmatic love.
All in all, this series will probably not be the best of this year but will definitely feed your soul well so i recommend you watching it.

A Diamond Slowly Polished
This was a surprise. Time travel is not one of my favorite themes because it tends to be messy and confusing. But yet it really worked with this series. Each step of the way the characters were developed more fully. The main couple remained the main focus, but the side characters were developed and also important to the story development.
As a side note Krist was a little off-putting to me. I was aware of his homophobic comments on a personal level. Also, I did not like Sotus. I forced myself to finish it, but it's overall theme just seemed very abusive. Because of my attitude toward Krist, I wasn't initially as objective about his character. He did, however, do an admirable job of growing as a person through each time travel progression. He would recognize his faults and attempt to correct himself.
Gawin acted his role superbly. He was not only a good friend but in every reincarnation remains steadfast in his attraction and love for Krist. He was almost too self-sacrificing. And frankly Krist's character was whiny and selfish. It was a mystery why Gawin's character was attracted to him. Physically there was not an enormous chemistry. Their relationship came across as more of a bromance. The progression of their relationship was a slow burn. I appreciated Krist's development. He sought money and fame but at the end of the day he valued an ordinary life with the person he loved. His final attitude of not changing in his acquired devotion in spite of the fact that he may possibly die cemented that his affection was genuine.
The development of the side characters was well done. They were real people and not just stuck in the story to create a romance. The interjection of social issues was, also, well done. Throughout each progression in the story you became more aware of the awkwardness and challenges of being gay in a society that had not yet openly embraced the LGBTQ community. The series presented some serious enlightenments on social issues without being heavy-handed.
Overall the series embraced the concept of accepting flaws or inadequacies and moving forward to correct what they realistically could. When Krist realized he couldn't live without Gawin being in his life, his love for him resulted in a more romantic situation. He seemed reluctant to have physical intimacy with another man.
But, this could have been because this was his first sexual experience regardless of gender.
I won't immediately rewatch the series, but it's definitely worth a rewatch. I'm very glad that I somehow discovered it. It's discovery was definitely by accident because it wasn't well promoted by GMMTV
This was a well-written story with good character development. Definitely worth your time.

Already My Favorite
Be My Favorite is definitely one of my favorites.•❅✧❅✦ Story •❅✧❅✦
Always an introvert and outcast, Botkawi has been in love with Pearmai for over 10 years. At the age of 30, his life isn't going that great, but everyone else's lives are amazing. While weeping over his sorry life, Kawi receives an invitation to Pearmai and Pisaeng's wedding. Kawi has always had a hatred for Pisaeng for not only being hot and popular, but also stealing away Pearmai when they were in college. While on a hunt for a wedding gift, Kawi receives a special crystal ball from a strange old man which sends him 10 years back in time. Kawi takes the opportunity to fix his mistakes and get with Pearmai, but he also unknowingly forms a friendship with Pisaeng, who wants more than a friendship with Kawi.
While the time traveling is not too unique, I really love how Be My Favorite pulled it off. Time travel wasn't too much of the focus, but rather the series was character centric. It wasn't about fixing situations and scenarios to better suit Kawi, it was all about Kawi learning to be more assertive and voice his opinions and thoughts that really drove the story forward. It was really nice to see from the first episode that all Kawi had to do was be more assertive to befriend Pisaeng and to learn that he really had no bad intentions when he "ruined" Kawi's chance to give his gift to Pearmai. Kawi could literally have had a better life he wanted and would be happy if he just had confronted Pisaeng and Pearmai.
That being said, the series could have gone with 10 episodes rather than 12. The last few episodes did feel a little bit draggy.
The storylines about Pisaeng going back in time, or even the minor storylines about Max, Pisaeng's mom, and even Pearmai's family backstory could have been cut. Pearmai's storyline wasn't really necessary as she wasn't really a main character. Instead of her, I would have loved to see Pisaeng's backstory, which we got a little bit of, but not enough. Pisaeng's mom's political story was a little confusing to follow and really didn't push the story forward as there wasn't really any big drama or issues with her politics and Pisaeng and Kawi's relationship. I was kind of expecting her to be against the relationship despite advocating for LGBT rights, but that never happened. As for Max, his story kind of felt incomplete since he was advocating for LGBT rights throughout the whole series but never once was seen with boyfriend. Still a great series though.

Pisaeng x Kawi
Pisaeng and Kawi are that couple that's perfect for each other, but seems to have never had a "honeymoon" period. Every time I see Pisaeng and Kawi, they remind me of an old couple that are soulmates, but constantly bickering with each other. They are definitely a new take on a romantic couple.
Pisaeng is so adorable. He's literally the perfect man. He falls for Kawi after talking to him for a few days and becomes loyal and dedicated to him soon after. Pisaeng's love is so loyal and strong despite Kawi pushing him to the side for Pearmai so many times.
Fluke, who portrays Pisaeng really stepped up his acting game and was amazing. I couldn't stop watching him. I want to see more of him.
Kawi is annoyingly adorable. When he starts being true to himself and starts being more assertive, people are naturally drawn to him. The only thing that was stopping him from being happy and successful was himself, which he soon realizes after traveling to the past.
It was nice to see Krist back in a BL, but I wasn't quite sure what to think of his acting. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't eye catching. I haven't seen any other Krist series or movies aside from SOTUS and SOTUS S, so I can't comment too much on his acting, but it didn't feel as great as he did in SOTUS. I honestly found Kawi to be annoying during the first few episodes, and as the series continued on, scenes where Kawi should have been nervous around Pisaeng came off more as Kawi being "repulsed" and "turned-off" at the thought of sleeping with Pisaeng. Maybe Krist is better at playing the more "stoic" and "masculine" characters, but Kawi was definitely not his best character. He still did a great job though.
•❅✧❅✦ Overall •❅✧❅✦
I really enjoyed Be My Favorite. It was a different take on the time travel concept and I loved what they did with the character growth. Pisaeng will definitely be on my mind for a little while now. Where can I get a person like Pisaeng?

Pretty good
I mostly watched it because Krist was the main character. The story was was interesting and relatable in some ways. Few moments of life lessons I admire from the characters. Cliche but entertaining. Just something to watch if you don't got other BL series in mind.I really love Pearmai. Her character was just soooooo good. I kinda wished there was more scenes of Kwan because she was the only side character I rarely got in touched with. Otherwise, everyone was important.
The only thing I didn't like in the series is the love. I wasn't sure why everyone liked someone for a reason besides "you're cute." That was the energy I got from pretty much EVERYONE. Well besides Kawi and even Kwan. It just sounds like a little crush and nothing too deep. The love plot wasn't such a strong attribution to the story.
Again, this was a nice series to watch and pretty new storyline in the BL industry. Give it a try.

This is one of the university bls that has caught my heart. It was so interesting from the start and when ever I felt like I am loosing interest there was another plot twist not a big one but enough to make to keep watching it. And gmm please stop making krist and gawin change patners like clothes I am not complaining but i also don't like it.Was this review helpful to you?

Inconsistent Time-Traveling Rules But A Warm & Cozy Time
The magic and whimsy of Be My Favorite gives me warm and cozy memories. It's not a perfect drama for reasons I'll go into later, but it definitely is one of the stronger BL's I've watched. It felt much cleaner than other GMMTV dramas in that the story had clear direction and no loose ends (at least for the parts that mattered). There was clear character growth for both of the characters and it was so satisfying to see Kawi become happier and more confident once he realized that he didn't need to time travel anymore to live a full and satisfying life. The drama was also so dang pretty. Some of the scenes were absolutely and unexpectedly breathtaking.
I love romcoms with supernatural elements, so this could've been a 10/10 win for me, but the time traveling rules were very weak, or rather nonexistent. When Kawi first went back in time and it was chaotic, it made sense because Kawi was too preoccupied with making the future perfect that he ended up fumbling the present. When he returned, he was much more intentional with letting things play out, but when he went back, it was a mess. So what’s the lesson here? There needed to be a clearer connection between past actions and future implications. Like with most GMMTV dramas, I just turned my brain off and I was able to just fully enjoy the show.
The show really showed its strength with its surprisingly mature ending. I was ready to throw hands when Kawi got sick because I assumed it was the writers trying to throw an unnecessary last minute twist, but instead the twist of Pisaeng going back in time really had me floored. Pisaeng, having accidentally gotten Kawi sick in the future, considers ending his relationship with Kawi to prevent Kawi from getting deathly ill down the line, but Kawi, having grown so much in his time travels, tells Pisaeng that he's content with his life with him, and wants him in his life no matter what happens. They lived a full life in love, no need to tinker with the past.
What makes me love this show is that it's strong on its own. A lot of BLs falter because the writers rely too much on the ship or the mere fact that it's a BL to get attention and create buzz. But Krist and Gawin aren't a massive ship (and doesn't really seem like that was an intended goal of the show anyway given the lack of shipwork between the two) and you could've made Be My Favorite a het drama and it would've been JUST as good. I'm glad we're no longer settling for subpar stories to push ships and maximize $$$. I hope we continue to strive for quality dramas.
All in all, I really enjoyed Be My Favorite, a very unexpected pleasant watch!

Are we watching the same show?
I’ve seen nothing but amazing reviews on this and… I’m confused as to why. Truly such a boring watch. Got through it, but barely. The ONLY highlight of the show was Gawin’s portrayal of Pisaeng. Kawi? Terrible character. The first 6 episodes are just him going after Pear and failing miserably, whilst unknowingly hurting Pisaeng. Episode 7/8 seemed like a promising shift in the plot, but it was all for nothing bc it went right back to how it was. The entire time I found myself rooting for Pisaeng to find better elsewhere. Kawi seemed so uninterested in Pisaeng until the very final moments of the finale, and the excuse of “that’s just how he is” is simply not good enough because even ignoring that, it’s such a lifeless boring show that just goes through the motions to reach the episode count. Zero rewatch value; I would give it zero stars in that department if allowed, but I guess a 1 will suffice. Unable is a nice song though. Was this review helpful to you?
Weird plot holes and lacking chemistry sadly
Overall I enjoyed the majority of this Series. It did get a bit weird and confusing and illogical in the end.. but well with a time travelling plot that’s to be expected.Interestingly enough I feel like both Gawin and Krist did great with their roles respectively. It’s just that the feeling of a very socially awkward 30yo in the body of a teen just makes for a weird feeling generally… krist did great at being exactly what he was supposed to be… I don’t see fault in the actors here but very much in the story itself.
While I did ship both characters together and I did feel like they liked each other, we were missing some actual vocalisation of those feelings from one side which made the whole thing feel a bit lacking in chemistry.. i feel like they could have put more effort into actually showing his feelings at some point, they were definitely there but the series just really didn’t give him a chance to show that.
The last Episode IMO overall was just unnecessary and could’ve been cut out of the series without any issues at all
I actually rewatched the first 10 episodes because I had quit at the end the first time around, I did still enjoy even the second watch though. Just the end really wasn’t all that giving.

A future gone in an instant
My parents are having an affair and I ain't even mad about it. This is fun and pretty well done. I will give it to them. A very random pair that feels like a bad dream, but I would be lying if I said I didn't like them together. Okay, I would give it an 8.5 (8.75) out of 10. I am going to say what I liked, what I didn't, do an episode overview, and then put this show to rest after 3 long years.Random ass ship, but they were fun as hell and have good chemistry. I think they are both good actors, stand alone, so them together was weird but good. The plot was pretty good, actually, and had some interesting lessons about life and the things you take for granted. I liked that a lot. I also liked what they did with the ending. Of course, I really do not know what I was expecting, but I did enjoy how they did the lesson learned kind of thing, and the thing about not being able to fix or save everybody. I liked how Gawin's character saw into the past about changing it, and I dont know if it was by choice or just the fact it didnt work, but he didnt go back and fight the future head-on, which was actually very interesting, and I did like that from an analysis standpoint. I forgot how many times he went back in time, and I am so obsessed that they did that a lot. Krist's character being an alcoholic was fun; I liked that for some reason. They are freaked out. Also, pretty good character writing for our main characters. The romance building was okay, I will give them that. This whole show was pretty good, and I would say watch it.
WHOEVER WROTE THE PACING OF THIS SHOW NEEDS TO BE FIRED. Jesus Christ. The first 5 episodes were gun to my head boring and genuinely so hard to get through, and it is because the pacing at the start is god fucking awful. Fuck. The ending was a bit empty because they jumped the gun in episode 11, but that's okay. I DO NOT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT PEAR AND HER PROBLEMS. Like, I am so glad they gave her dimension and made her stand alone from a man, but her placement of lore and background stuff was so incredibly boring, I really did not give two fucks. Actually, that goes for most of the side characters, just random, irrelevant, and take away from the main couple and their plot. They should have made the start more interesting, jumping off what I said earlier. I think that would have helped with the overall development of the show. The start was also confusing as fuck, and I am just like, what the fuck. Not a lot to complain about, but the things are a little major lmao.
Okay, episode overview time, which once again spans over 3 years, and I am so sorry to this show for leaving you on here for this long. "Watching it for Krist because he's a cutie. I am slightly lost because I don't read descriptions." "Things never go to plan for him; something is always going wrong." "I am thinking of how you would explain all the time travel shit to someone, because I personally wouldn’t believe them." "We are not going in the love direction right now, but these two are coming to terms with feelings and getting over all the childishness of always fighting for no reason, and there is only peace when Kawi is drunk out of his mind." "Whoever thought this ship was a good idea, I have some strong words for you. Wait, I can't lie, I'm obsessed with these two together, it's like your parents are having an affair. Krist is such a good singer. "Kawi is too cute to be straight." Lmao. I lowkey forgot this was time traveling. Gawin is so tall." "I am confused about how the globe works. I feel like if you fuck up time, you are gonna face some kind of consequences. You need some self-reflection; no matter what you change, it is always the same. Something about grown ass men playing in the water together does it for me. They are both great singers. I think Krist's character is interesting. "Shii, I'll wait." "GMMTV's biggest cry babies lmao. Put khao in here, and we will be complete. Interesting bit with him being an alcoholic. I think that guy at the end was a full circle bit, but idk. I like this, it's a good background show." "I DO NOT CARE ABOUT PEAR LORE HOLY FUCK I DO NOT CARE. GIVE ME MY MAIN COUPLE AND MORE LORE WITH THIS BITCH BENDING SPACE AND TIME, I DO NOT CARE ABOUT PEAR AND HER IRRELEVANT FUCKING MOTHER I SWEAR TO GOD." "I like the ending, they could have done more, but also it was a nice full circle with the globe and thinking about using it and then not, I liked that."
Yeah, this was fun. Uh, okay bye!

Its so good it made me cry.
After reading the reviews I almost didnt watch, but Im so glad I did.Is the main character an ass? Yes. Is he a lovable ass? Also yes.
The main part of the series is set in 2015 so unfortunately the main character suffers from comphet & internalised homophobia - but you can see him soften and learn to accept himself and his feelings
This is not really a feel good series, but by the end I was in love with all the mains. My faves being Pear & Pisaeng cause they are the purest most good hearted characters. And watching Pisaeng push Kawi's buttons was so entertaining.
Hopefully you will understand and learn to love Kawi the way i did through all his flaws and brash nature. He is selfish, self centered & hard shelled but he does soften as the series continues, and truly shows he does just want the best for those around him.
