wtf did i just watch
this had soooooooo much potential to be great and they ruined it for a wanna-be bittersweet ending. for a movie that's nearly two hours long, it's like they just ran out of time to actually create a good plot because they were too focused on the rising action. the ONLY positive thing i can really say about it was daou was good eye candy, not even the comedy lived up to my expectation. Was this review helpful to you?

romanticizing manipulation
there were so many meaningless nsfw scenes that you could tell were filmed separately and randomly placed in between scenes. sorn's utter toxicity and manipulation was almost too much to handle. he constantly was made out to look like a "hero" in jun's life but in reality he always just forced jun into physical interactions that nobody asked for!!! the main leads had absolutely no chemistry, they never shared a moment of intimacy beyond sex until AFTER they started dating.. and even then it was crumbs. whenever the audience thought we were getting a cute moment they just started making out. jun is way too immature to be dating sorn, their relationship was built off the fact that sorn manipulated him into being friends with and even when jun acknowledges that he proceeds to.... confess his feelings??? sorn constantly says jun was "too young" when excusing his feelings for him and said he has trauma from his ex being too young but....... how young was she if sorn almost went to jail for it....... but anywho.. there were SO many scenes where jun verbally says "no" to sorn's advantages and yet sorn uses force to pin jun down. also DOES JUN HATE HIS OWN BOYFRIEND?!?!? there is never a moment where he doesn't look uncomfortable with sorn.as for the side couple.. i honestly thought they were boring at first. but i'd take a boring consensual couple over the main leads ANY DAY. they honestly grew on me, i liked how they actually had development and we could ACTUALLY see they liked each other... i loved Thai's character because he always said exactly what i was thinking. he was the only character to call out sorn's utter manipulation.
also what was the point of the lesbian side couple? it's like they were an after thought. they tried giving them lore but never elaborated on it. i think it would've been better if they were a couple since episode one and just kept it a secret from the work space while everyone thinks they dislike each other. there was no need for Penny to be friends with benefits with sorn and there was no reason for the writers to tell us they were "ex lovers" and not give us the backstory. there were just so many gaps and not even just with the lesbians but with the main and side couples as well.
i cannot stress enough how bad this show pmo, there are so many things i didn't even mention. watch if you only care about NC scenes i suppose lmao

aishh jinjja?
it really seemed like they were trying to romanticize DID without actually including DID representation. for me personally, the ending was very bittersweet. what i loved and absolutely adored most about this series was the true effort Sun put into actually trying to understand Sairung. i thought it was beautiful how he could tell who was in the light by a simple change in demeanor, even when Marnmok tried to pretend to be Sairung. however, what i absolutely hated was the fact that they tried to emphasize that Sairung needed to be "cured" from DID in order to be "normal." ALSO DID HAS NO CURE!!! did the writers even TRY to do their research??? it's very easy to point out a show's flaws that's why i must say, each episode had me completely hooked and i found this series so intriguing. though, it was very unrealistic and i'll even go as far as to say poor inclusion. i wish i learned something about DID from this series but it seems i already know more than the writers lol.i can't finish this review without noting, nanon i love you and Mind you are a breathtaking actress. your ability to portray each personality was impressive to watch. i found myself being able to tell them all apart myself.

for the slice of life anime lovers
my oh my.. what an ATTRACTIVE cast we have here with new main lead faces. if you love slice of life animes.. this series is for you! now directors, writers, producers.. please allow teens to be miserable. yes, i know.. sounds crazy. there were so many things that this series just completely glossed over, especially regarding shane's utterly miserable home-life. they present shane with the obstacle of forcefully leaving thailand to live with his mom, and yet it was all resolved with what seemed to be a joke. the series constantly built up suspense and concern from the audience only for the problem to be solved like nothing, i found myself constantly disappointed and unattached to the series because of this. even down to the final scene, i'm left with no connection to the characters other than to kit's eyes.for my final critique, i wish there was more of a slowburn with atleast ONE of the couples, by episode 8 all the couples were already established. i was waiting for per and tar to finally address their feelings but it's like the directors thought they wouldn't have enough time to develop them, which is completely unbelievable since the audience had to sit through way too many scenes of kim revolving his whole personality around his boyfriend. so nonetheless i was disappointed by their lack of development, especially since they (sue me) probably had the best chemistry..

i love you
you know the series is good when you gotta write quotes from the show in your notes... i will say the series had its rocky parts. kawi was constantly so selfish but i love how we slowly saw him develop into such a wise and supportive young man. the show did a phenomenal job at casting pisaeng as gawin, he absolutely devoured this role up. and i LOVED how they wrote pear's character, i'm glad they didn't write her as some frail submissive woman or just an airheaded comedic relief like most thai shows tend to do. the lack of smut also adds to many levels of genuine intimacy between the main couple, since there are no true side couples we get to focus a lot on the character developments of everyone. i highly recommend it!Was this review helpful to you?
