better than the other one but not by a lot

That ending told me that I should have watched this one first instead of Star and Sky: Sky in Your Heart. The other one has an 8.5, but this one I think is better. Its average was 8.3. I am supposed to be working on a research paper, but whatever. I love jealous ones; I am just going to say it. It shows they care, and I know it's so toxic, but they are so good. The reviews shouldn't be this low. It's not a bad show; there are no serious plot twists that make no sense. like it was expected, and that made me happy. I love these actors to death. Daonuea being worried about Kluen having a crush on him now because he likes him. I understand that. There were a lot of valid concerns that were relatable, and I liked that about it. The drunk scenes were consistent, and I like when dramas are consistent with their shit. Some characters actually served no purpose, but that's okay. Fah being that protective older brother was actually so cute. He cares so much, and it makes me happy. Dao saying that he's his brother but no one is listening was funny. Fah is my king, and there were a lot of moments with him and Dao, but we needed more older trouble with serotonin. It was adorable. It's not a bad show; it gets an 8 out of 10 stars from me. Okay bye!

There were goods and there were bads...

After watching all the 8 episodes, I can see that there's a lot of good things about it, and also some bad things about it at the same time.

Let's start off by talking about the director himself, New Siwaj Sawatmaneekul. He is one of the most popular Thai bl series directors. I've watched many of his bl series including Make It Right, Love by Chance, Love by Chance 2: A Chance To Love, and War Of High School. For this series, I feel like it was pretty okay, but compared to other bl series like Bad Buddy, it is nowhere near it. The plot was a little too simple for me, but on the good side, it was very easy to understand, and it was quite fun to watch. And because of that, I had decided to give the story a 7/10.

Now let's move onto the Acting/Cast. I really like the casts of this series a lot. The one thing that I want to change would be to give Pawin Kulkaranyawich (Maithee), and Satang Kittipop Sereevichayasawat (Sean) a bigger role, it would be amazing if they can be a side couple. Why? They have a good chemistry, and everything. Satang and Pawin's cuteness and personalities was just amazing! I also like the main characters of the series as well, Joong and Dunk did an amazing job, and I can see that they had worked really hard to portray their characters. Another thing that made me really happy is that 2 members of the Studio Wabi Sabi was able to make an appearance on this series as mentors. Both of them were on my favorite list since the time I saw them on Love By Chance. And all of that lead me into giving the acting/cast a 9.5/10.

The music of the series was amazing! I really like both of the OST! Joong Archen, and Louis Thanawin got amazing voices. The background music was also perfect, so it's definitely a 10/10. And for the rewatch value, I'd give it a 9/10. Overall, almost everything was perfect. Good job to the director New Siwaj, and all the casts in this series including Dunk, Joong, Pepper, JJ, Winny, Thor, Pawin, Satang, Ciize, Earn, View, Mek, Mark, Samantha, Yacht, and all the other casts and crews that made this series amazing!

pretty enjoyable and entertaining show???

tbh i read some of the reviews on here before watching the show so my expectations were below 0 when i started it ... but it was surprising how many of these reviews don't meet with the series i've watched??
ofc there are some tropes which are not that enjoyable (miscommunication mostly! some annoying characters —phoon 💀— and stupid misconceptions) but overall the shows pretty entertaining and enjoyable?? it's not a difficult plot to follow, the characters haven't gone through hell (lol) but got their own backstories and own problems they've got to deal with.
the acting was not the best but it was okay for me, the chemistry between the leads seem to be better pre-relationship than after they get together?? or maybe it's because i usually like the pining more ?? LMAO
the ost is cool, the script is light and easy to follow, the characters are cute and lovable (most of them!!), there are some nonsensical scenes but mostly it's pretty okay :D
btw this is the first part of the star and sky series (i was losing my mind to find which one was first)

if you're looking for a light-hearted show, with a hs-uni theme, hard pining, light angst, and happy ending, this is perfect :)

Cute one-time watch

Nothing is wrong with it, but it's nothing too much of a standout. Cute somewhat slow burner that I would recommend to anything who wants to watch something nice and sweet. I kinda wished it was a bit longer, maybe 1 or 2 special episodes of them with Kleun's parents and stuff, that would've been really cute.

really cute series

I honestly loved the series it had a good plot and a it was also new unlike anything before. I liked both the couple and the group of friends they had who always supported them. This is a type of series which gives you the heart flutters and always going how cute they are, there are a few twists and turns and at moment your on the edge of your seat as to what is going to happen next. sometimes you may feel that the characters are taking wrong decisions but what is a good story if it doesn't have a few mistakes made by the characters .overall it was a good series highly enjoyable and puts a smile on your face every time.

loved it!

wow! I'm in shock at all the bad reviews of this drama. it saddens me to see people not bother watching simply because others said not to. on that note, I will say that most reviews are personal opinions and should be taken that way. my personal opinion, I absolutely loved this series! I started with Sky in Your Heart which is the sequel where you see Daoneua's brother, Kuafah, get his story. That was hands down one of my favorite stories! Mek is drop dead gorgeous and an amazing actor! as far as this series goes, you can't go wrong with JoongDunk. yes, the story is one that we most likely all know. miscommunication. if you're an avid bl watcher like myself, you're bound to come across tropes. frankly, to expect high schoolers/college students to be experts at love is ridiculous. they're gonna be awkward and make mistakes. I 100/10 recommend this series and I 1000/10 recommend watching sky in your heart immediately after!

Star and Sky in my Mind

Honestly, I was excited to watch this to support JoongDunk .. Mainly Jooong as I have followed him since 2m2 and I was NOT disappointed. I loved this series and I think I am in the minority but I don't care. Joong played his character with so much feeling and expertise I adored the character - Joong and Dunk have undeniable chemistry and I would love to see them in another series. I like how reserved Khabkluen was and the one-sided love of Daonuea was genuinely heartbreaking to watch - Once all barriers were down and Khabkluen allowed his feelings to come forth I literally screamed .. I am so proud of Joong as he has been through hell and back and I for one support him and cannot wait to see all he will accomplish n the future !! JoongDunk I got you !!!

I didn’t think I’d like this, but I really did

I’ve watched so many college BLs. And just when I thought I couldn’t possibly be satisfied by yet another 2 young and dumb boys … I SOMEHOW LOVE THIS!

The story of Kluen and Daonuea is a classic tale of meeting your high school crush after entering college and falling in love with them (all over again). Variations of this plot have been done to death – recall 2moons, 2gether and Bad Buddy? OK, so the plot isn’t terribly original, but so what?

I think Joong and Dunk have created a pretty solid product together with their chemistry. It’s always the chemistry that makes or breaks a typical plot or trope.

The entire show is a string of misunderstandings that could have been averted if they were brave enough to speak plainly from the start. But as the web gradually untangles and their feelings for each other are uncovered, this frustrating rollercoaster ride turns out to be quite lovely and rewarding after all.

Yes, this is yet another college BL. And one day, maybe this high school sweetheart plot will well and truly go extinct. But not this time. And until then, please take it from me: Go watch Star In My Mind.

Cute Enough

Honestly, my opinion is all over the place with this one. Ultimately, I did enjoy myself as I watched, but there was a lot of... not great stuff in here. The amount of non-consensual kisses, the brushing-off of a girl being abused, the general weirdness of the MC having FOUR people in love with him, and the plethora of background characters that were just /there/ ultimately made this show feel very underwhelming and poorly done. While I liked the pining, especially from Kluen, there just wasn't much substance beyond it. There were some cute moments-- the T-shirt painting scene, the scene where they finally get together, the whole sunflower thing, etc-- but in the end I just couldn't love it the way I wanted to. It’s cute and sweet enough to binge and enjoy, but I don’t think it’s going to be anyone’s favorite drama.

But know that when it comes to love, I know nothing.

The chemistry between JoongDunk is through the roof! Before we even get a few minutes into the first episode, the two of them are giving each other love eyes. I think they both did an amazing job portraying their characters’ emotions. Even though Kluen (Joong’s character) does appear a bit cold at times, he shows a lot through his eyes.

Their friends are probably the most supportive and patient group of people ever. Kluen and Dao keep going around in circles when it comes to their feelings and relationship. I can’t even imagine the amount of times the rest of the boys got to hear them moaning about their emotions. And yet they never ignore them. They are full of suggestions, some more helpful than others, but they never discourage Kluen and Dao. And the fact that Dao’s brother and Kluen’s mother probably know everything about the two is adorable!

Kluen & Dao: I am a sucker for second chance romances. As well as the right person at the wrong time plots. I feel like the story of Kluen and Dao is both of those and I was definitely here for that. Kluen is aware that he absolutely sucks at talking about his emotions, so hearing him tell that to Dao was really nice. I don’t think Kluen is cold or arrogant, but I do think he is more of an introvert. He has one close friend, Noel, and he is not one who really enjoys participating in events or meeting new people. This also might tie into the fact that he finds it hard to express his emotions to others. Dao is a bit more of a social butterfly. He can be shy, don’t get me wrong, but I think he finds it easier to make friends and there is something about him that makes people comfortable around him. I really think that the two are a good match for each other.

Let’s talk about Typhoon. I really hope he gets his happy ending at some point (Our sky 2, I am looking at you). He is a genuinely good person who wishes happiness for the ones he cares about, even if it means he is not the source of their happiness. He had his moments, I admit that, but he is still a character I really enjoyed watching. The fact he didn’t get into a relationship right away also speaks volumes about his character. He is not looking for a rebound, he is looking for his perfect match. Which is a very mature thing to do. And the right one too.

The locations are beautiful. The OST has this soft sound to it that I really enjoyed as well.

Light hearted fun

personally Joong kinda reminds me of Archie in Riverdale so my expectations where not that high , but I was pleasantly surprised. I really like drama so honestly I found the conflicts really fun. I also really liked Joongs character.

The most annoying thing about this is the fact that they always get called in the middle of the most important conversations and they always pick up the phone

The production is really good I love how Gmmtvs shows alwus feels like the color the title graphic is in and the repetitive use of the Sunflower is really cute

I would say if you don't mind a bit of stupid conflict definitely give it a watch.

Surprising

Very rarely I get to change my mind: when a drama is on my dropped list, it stays there and I usually do not give it a second chance. I was challenged into watching this so I gave it a go. And frankly, it was not as bad as I thought it would be.

Star In My Mind is a drama about Dao and Kleun and their imagined unrequited love for each other. When Dao confesses before leaving for a trip, Kleun is flabbergasted and just utters a banality. They meet again a few years later at the University where they share a dorm. After a few wrong moves, they eventually find common ground and love.

I had dropped this after the first episode, the cringe factor (the confession) was just too much for me to bear. But surprisingly, that cringiness disappears and we get a straight forward rom com together with all the usual tropes, misunderstandings, another love interest, helpful friends. Another surprising absence is the adults (parents, teachers etc.) since none of the characters work, they must be financed somehow in order to study. But we do not know really how (most of them apparently come from well off families!).

As somebody pointed out already, there are no side couples in this drama: there are friends in their group flirting but nothing is mentioned let alone fleshed out. This drama is only about Kleun and Dao. I found this a refreshing change from the usual thai bl formula where there are usually two more couples adding nothing to the plot but wasting time.

The actors had a surprisingly good chemistry probably because the characters they played were the complete opposites: Kleun a taciturn popular guy and Dao an expressive artist. Joong is an awful actor: he has a single facial expression: brooding. He might be handsome but he is like a doll. Dunk was surprisingly good. He has an interesting voice and managed to be slightly better than Joong. They appeared to be at ease with each other and did not shy from contact.

The rest of the cast were just there not to have the stage empty. They were there as support for the main leads and we never did get to know them. Which is ok since it made the series shorter and more compact and therefore easier to watch. The only character that gets a bit more time is Fah, Dao's older brother who is the star of the second series. 😀😀

This series was a surprisingly decent watch and I ended up liking it more than the second part Sky In Your Heart. To be watched while doing something else....
