Comedy At Its Best

This is the second time watching this series It is truly one of the funniest I've watched. It will hold your attention throughout. Never a dull moment. The cast is GREAT. The director did a fabulous job putting this series together. I highly recommend. The music is perfect for this series. The dance routine between episodes is entertaining.

Finish it, you won't regret it

I was really sceptical with it at first but I though I needed to give it a chance and damn I don't regret it, the story took a turn and it was so good. I really need a story about how it goes them later on. I would watch it again and again, it just can something you haven't seen in BL's before. I would say I was beginning to hate Noey in the start and it was first around episode 6-7 I actually started to like him and I think Thi is an adorable scary cat. They both have character development and it is good, it suits the character

Knock Knock- It's an underage actor and NOTHING ELSE.

What a weird, borderline inappropriate love-letter to a single performer this is.

I have never seen anything quite like it. From the first glimpse of Tar Atiwat Saengtien's juvenile knees I went 'uh-oh'. And it was downhill from there.

There really is no reason to watch 'I Will Knock You' except for Tar Atiwat Saengtien's performance of Noey Watphlu. It's a great performance, for the THEN SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD ACTOR. Which isn't necessarily bad, but ooof. Ooof. He's incredibly charming, bringing life to this passionate, impulsive, sentimental character. Don't mistake, this isn't well written, not by a long shot. The plot is nonsense, Noey is not a well-written character. Noey's vintage style and cringe romantic heart are at least unique, but Tar is carrying this on pure charisma alone.

And he's beautiful. It cannot be understated how much the camera loves him. It's impossible to forget what a pretty child he is, particularly because of the way they edited this strange show. Multiple times Noey would say something absolutely bonkers, they'd cut to Thi, he'd do a 'haaa?' face, and some voice over and halfway through the voice over they'd cut back to Noey, who'd then have another line. Which is BIZARRE. I cannot stress to you how much I'm like 'THI DIDN'T SAY A FLIP FLAPPIN WORD, THIS IS NOT A CONVERSATION, IT IS A MONOLOGUE, WHAT ARE WE DOING?'

Sure, each time I'd be like 'damn he's pretty tho'. But, see, his underage ass could not distract me from what a hot mess of NOTHING this show is. And because he's underage, they can't fill runtime with forced kisses or bawdy sex scenes. The story certainly didn't step up and provide anything else of consequence or sincerity.

I am somewhat accustomed to uneven writing quality between male and female leads in romantic pairings. Generally speaking, in hetero shows the ML is adequately written, the female lead is underwritten. In BL, there's often a mediocre standard which both leads meet; serviceable, but not remarkable. Nothing could have prepared me for how inconsequential, bland and boring Thi was. If Noey is not well written, Bom Tanawat Uthaikitwanit's Thi is...unwritten. He's negative space. He might as well not exist. We know NOTHING about him, except he's awkward AF and tutors kids. Oh, and his interest in the HIGH SCHOOLER makes him a PREDATOR, but the show is not prepared to deal with that.

Considering Thi's lack of anything except setting up clumsy set pieces for Noey to react to, there's no reason for Noey to like him. You could make a drinking game our of the number of times Thi just straight up didn't have dialogue in scenes, yet the scenes persist, perpetuated by some ghastly BL necessity. He'd have voice over along the lines of 'omg this crazy kid' or 'if I don't do this he'll beat me up for sure!' but not actual lines, not actual participation in the scene, not actual agency. He's a complete non-entity. He flounders around, a collegiate do-gooder intimidated by a high school junior, his thoughts and feelings on the courtship ultimately unimportant and insignificant. In fact, nothing happens in this show that Noey does not instigate, and not always for readily apparent reasons.

So Bom's part is crap, and he can't hold a candle to Tar's charisma. It's like watching a man trying to make love to a damp sponge. It's all kinds of weird and ick and uncomfortable. Perhaps the age-gap obstacle could have been overcome, but the story is vacant of a major character and any effort on the part of the writers. It's hard to have a romance with a non-entity, after all. So the script is a joke, Bom's performance is DOA, there's no chemistry, no intriguing side characters, though the other actors make a sound effort, except, again, the script and story are garbage, so? They resort to showcasing the single asset they have; Tar Atiwat Saengtien.

So. Admire him. There's no other reason to watch.

A HIDDEN GEM!

I absolutely loved this series! From start to finish, it delivered a rollercoaster of emotions that kept me hooked. What I appreciate the most is how it effortlessly blends humor and heart, making me laugh out loud in almost every episode. It's one of those shows that consistently brings a smile to your face, even during the most simple moments.

Noey and Thi truly shine in their roles, bringing their characters to life in such a genuine and heartfelt way. Their chemistry is undeniable, and it's clear that they share a special bond that makes their interactions so captivating. The way they portray their relationship feels so natural, and it’s hard not to root for them as the story progresses.

Why am I only seeing this series now? It’s definitely worth watching and has been such a hidden gem for me! This is actually my first time writing such a long review about a BL series I’ve watched, and that just goes to show how much I truly recommend this to everyone. I really hope Noey and Thi get more opportunities to work together in future BL projects because they have something special, and their chemistry is the heart of this series. Overall, it’s a feel-good show that’ll leave you with a warm and happy heart after each episode. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a lighthearted, yet emotionally satisfying BL series!

NOEY????:3

i’m currently on ep 6 and i just feel like the dialogue is way too milked out. the conversations last longer then they should. 5 min scene for dialogue that could’ve been over within 4 sentences. i hate how infantilized and dumb thi is. i like that he kind of defended himself in this episode, but hes still annoying. noey is so cute i love him:3 :3 :3:3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3:3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3:3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3:3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3 :3:3 :3 :3

PERFECTION

does no one understand that this show is satire? that's good bc it's a hallmark of good satire if no one notices.

nonetheless, its perfectly executed from cinematography to styling to acting to tropes. every second was entertaining to me.

like hello the lotus? and then he almost did the catch him falling trope but then just let him fall? and toey is a gangster???? hello in what universe? its inverted tropes all over the place

also, the music they do use I will never forget.
everything about it is perfect if you understand what they're doing. otherwise I could see why it's confusing

Good use of clichés. Quick Acceptance and Inconsistency.

The most important thing I care about in BL series is that the increase in the feelings of the characters for each other is embroidered and the audience is made to feel it. This series started really well, even with the strange behaviour of the character Thi, I generally enjoyed the first episodes. Since the series was generally good, I watched the first 8 episodes with great expectations and excitement. However, it did not meet my expectations with the description of love and BL part in the 8th episode and beyond.

----Spoiler-----

The thing that tore me away from the series, which I hate in most BLs, is the nonsense of falling in love at once. I want the love to slowly flare up and grow inside the characters and explode when it is no longer controllable.

Another thing I hate is when Noey says "actually you are better, I want you now" overnight and suddenly starts flirting.
Accepting being gay so quickly and acting like it's normal is nothing but "I'm only gay for you" bullshit.

This story could have been much more passionate and exciting by using the storytelling in the first episodes.

For example, in this series, Noey should have started to have feelings for Thi from the very first moment. In fact, all the signs he saw around him should have pointed to Thai and Noey should have realised this slowly.
If Noey's story was like this:
He realised that he was falling in love in a platonic way.
If he had run away in fear of the growing love within him (here he should be cold to Thi)
Then, if he couldn't escape his increasingly intense feelings and got closer to Thi and used everything around him as an excuse for this rapprochement, this series would be legendary.
Yes, it looks like clichés from a distance, but this series proved to us that it can handle clichés really well in the first 5 episodes. And there is also a reason why clichés are clichés.

AS ANOTHER WORD: This series hooked me very well with the first 7 episodes. Of course, there were scenes with nonsense and exaggerations, but hey, no one is looking for the perfect BL here. But we have seen a lot of BL similar to this style. the first half is good and the second half goes downhill, but still unforgettable.
But unfortunately I don't think this drama will be memorable because of Thi's character's inconsistent behaviour and undevelopable personality. In a series, if the cute character (uke in webtoon language) is not endearing enough to the audience (it can be endearing even if it is very aggressive, annoying), that series is not remembered much.

cute and funny

okay, okay. HEAR ME OUT

I didn't put much faith in them but this drama really surprised me.

First of all: Thi is so fucking annoying in the first few eps. Maybe I'm just tired of Thailand's over-the-top (and not necessarily good) performances, but I almost gave up watching it cuz of him. But I ended up letting it go.

Second, it's fucking weird for you to be a senior at college and give attention to a high school student. Idc if a younger one are being interested in older people, but it's weird when the older person gives back. I could ignore it a bit since they only started dating after Noey finished school, but still....

One point I really liked was Noey's relationship with his mother and sister, as well as his relationship with Thiw (that man (ᗒᗩᗕ)). I feel that Thailand put aside family relationships and friendship a lot when the protagonists get to know each other, but there it was lovely.

It was the FIRST time a Thai "gangster" actually hit someone. I usually hate this 'bad boy' idea cuz they usually just talk and don't do shit.

Well, to conclude, I thought it was cute and funny. It was fun to watch, even if from ep 5 to 7 I thought about giving up, it was really cool.

PS: I thought it was really cute that Noey really stuck to his 80's style hahaha

Offbeat & quirky, but surprisingly heartfelt story..

The first couple episodes I was left scratching my head, but the great chemistry and performances of the 2 ML characters kept me watching.

I was pleasantly surprised by how this very quirky, awkward show managed to morph into such a sweet and touching love story between a high school delinquent and his college age tutor.

I also surprised myself by re-watching a few episodes only a few months after finishing the show. I don’t usually rewatch, but some of the scenes stuck in my head and I honestly missed this pair of cuties so much that I had to see them again.

This show is worth a watch- give it a chance♥️

The last few episodes threw me for a loop

When I started this drama I had a hard time watching it because there were a lot of awkwards scenes, but the last few episodes turned everything around.
First of all let's talk about the story. The story was very well made and I really enjoyed it. Even while skipping awkward scenes, (seeing how I literally hit myself when watching awkwardness I didn't think it was such a good idea to watch those) the story was still very easy to understand.
Like I said, the drama started out with a lot of awkward scenes. While I now understand why they were necessary, it still gave me a hard time watching this and it thus took me a very long time to actually finish this. I have to say that I even had the drama on dropped for a while there if I'm being entirely honest... But after a while I decided to start watching if again and boy am I glad I did.
Those last few episodes threw me for a whole ass loop. I went through 3 or 4 emotional rollercoasters. Especially the credits dancing scene from episode 11... That one actually made me cry, which I must say doesn't happen often.
Long story short, even though this drama started out very awkward, these were probably some of the best ending episodes I know.
Let's move on to the acting. The fact that the acting was so good that I could easily understand what the characters were feeling. Which is actually very hard to do. The only point in this serie where I thought the acting was awkward was the way noey's mum acted during the scene in episode 12 where noey asked thi to marry him. I found this very enjoying too look at, so if you get or got that far I recommend checking her out.
The rewatch value of this one was relatively low for me. I have a feeling like I'll rewatch the last episodes but probably not the rest because of the earlier told awkwardness. That's why made this one relatively lower.
The overall score is still high however, seeing how I really enjoyed watching this one.
Hope you have a nice day/night and I hope this was helpful. Goodbye👋👋
