COMICALLY COMEDY WITH LIGHT-HEARTED ROMANCE

Fukou-kun wa Kiss Suru Shikanai! is a pretty decent live-action series. This is definitely a type of a series that you should watch if you want to take a break from all the serious dramas that you are watching and also your life.
Story-pacing is one of the strong points of the series. The series is solely focused on the main characters and the situation surrounding them leaving no scope for loose ends.

STORY
Pretty simple with a bombardment of slapstick comedy. I deliberately used the word bombardment for the reason that I found some of the comic elements forcefully incorporated in unnecessary places. Often the serious tone of the series was interrupted by a comic undertone which just spoiled the atmosphere. If the team had just balanced out these two elements then the series would have come out more good.

ACTING
Sota Ryosuke did a pretty decent job in portraying Fukuhara Kota. I loved the duality of his acting but somehow there was something that irked me in his acting. He fell short while portraying certain emotions.
Sato Yusuke on the other hand did a good job in potraying his character Shinomiya Naoya. He just successfully made me feel absolutely single. Still, there were room for improvement but nevertheless he made me like Shinomiya Naoya.

MUSIC
I loved the opening song of the series, it is just so suitable for the series.

REWATCH VALUE
This is typically a kind of series that one would watch again and again without getting bored. The comedy and the light-hearted plot are just perfect for people who want to take their minds off something serious.

I found the ending to be a bit weak which I suppose they could've done better.

As LUCK may have it, opposites do attract

If you're into cute, funny and just a simple all around slice of life BLs with no angst, just pure fun, then this is the drama for you. It was easy going and did I say funny as hell? You'll be laughing at every episode. It was like watching the student years of the guys from Cherry Magic. I loved Kota with this chaotic energy. His true self was funny as hell and a whole mood. The actor also looked like a baby Shirasu Jin, so that was an added bonus.

So it's basically about two guys who are complete opposites when it comes to luck, falling for each other. Kota suffers from terrible bad luck, but he hides his true, miserable personality and comes off as this person with a bright disposition. (LOL he's not. He's a miserable toad) When they're together, Kota's bad luck gets cancel out by Naoya's good luck. But little does Kota knows, Naoya's hiding a fun little secret.

The acting was good. The two leads portrayed their characters well, especially the actor that plays Kota. I loved him. There is also a little hint of a GL love story in there that was blossoming I guess. There is also a bunch of little cute life lessons mixed into the story. My only issue is, I wish it was longer so we could've gotten a better developed relationship with the leads.

Heartwarming

It was so cute!! The casts did very well with how they portrayed their characters. It's a series that I don't have a problem with other than it went very well like too easy for fukuhara and shinomiya's relationship. It's one that doesn't rely on hardships to make a drama, I guess too much fluff and comedy carried the show. It was fun to watch although they kept teasing about them kissing and doing it till the end but nothing really happened(?) so that was a bit dissapointment but understandable if the actors are uncomfortable with it, you can't really force something like that but their performance and chemistry pulled through without such intimate moments which made this really good!! I wouldn't rewatch it though, cause I'm a sucker for BL that have intimate scenes and this one is really just for fun and excitement.

I don't understand all of the 10/10 reviews here!

Okay so this is definitely a fluffy, super "positive", and innocent stories we like to watch. However, this is also one of the toxic BL troupes that has become normalized. Since most of the reviews are extremely positive, I don't have to spend time talking about it. So let's talk about the negatives. I don't find it cute the depiction and romantization of someone forcing themselves to be gay. It's like "against my will" and against my "better judgment" that I'll be with you. Even though I hated/found disgusting the idea at first, my body wants it so I guess it's okay. Also MC is unbearably annoying! I know this is cultural so I won't judge the over the top dramatization of every reaction (anime like live characters). However, the over the top reaction to a kiss and proximity made this be so annoying that I couldn't continue watching. I don't mind no physical contact, but the extreme reaction to it is unrealistic and over the top. I dropped it after the first episode the first time I tried watching it. Years later I tried again and only made it to episode 4. Most people seem to like it so I guess that's okay. But lets end the notion of forced queerness being something fluffy and romantic!

Refreshing story

Story was really good and acting of actors were awesome so cute love story without any too much complications I finished this series within a day I enjoyed it from starting till end of the episode but I felt we didn’t get much intimate scenes but I’m not saying chemistry is lacking it’s good between lead actors but I expected in Japanese dramas will be having great intimate scenes unfortunately there wasn’t much not even in last episode but still I was happy by the story and chemistry between leads all the best to the team hope to see them again in new series casting together

Love it

Great story. Funny, amazing chemistry and they look so cute together. My favorite character is Naoya. Good-looking with a beautiful personality. I love this show it might best favorite Japanese BL but you never know the year isn't over it might get replaced. I've rewatched the ending of the first episode so many time that i can not count. The only thing is that i want more. More episodes, longer episodes and more Naoya. Not enough Naoya and more kisses. For these reasons are the reasons why i didn't score it a 10.

ITS SO CUTE

JUNE 21, 2022

Okay, this one is too fking cute. Like I eat it up real good, for some reason, I was just loving the plot. Yes it is very simple and easy to follow. Do not expect some twisted writing here cause you will not see it. The details are adequate and thorough, but not everything will be answered. BUT I DON'T CARE CAUSE I AM EATING THIS UP REAL GOOD. The chemistry between the leads is chef's kiss and off the charts. I wish they showed more but I am pretty satisfied with their adaptation. I want they have 😭

FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS CUTESY FLUFF, THIS SHOW IS FOR YOU HUN!!

Opposites Attract

It's so good and the way that one of them already knew the other before was a slay. i love the fact that he kind of just slowly started liking him and then when he realized it it was t=when he left, it was cray cray but i just love how they literally balanced each other out and they were just opposites in every sense.

Watch this if there is nothing better left.

Here is my honest review of these series.
First of all some negatives: I didnt think the script was good at all. The actors seemed actually proffesional but the story... horrible. Idk how i watched all of this. Don´t get me wrong, there are way worse series than this one, but this one was just too weird and surreal for me. And eventho they explane later on why naoya liked Kota from the beginning, i tought he was way too fast-forward. Totally not exciting to watch because u know how it will end. And i really hated the fake behaviour of Kota, it took way to long to start acting like himself.
So... even tho i didnt like the story at all, the acting was ok and deffinitely cute. Also there were some nice quotes. Thats it for the positives.
I´d give it a 7 out of 10 max. i watched this because of the good reviews, but hell i was disapointed.
Just watch this if there is nothing beter left... But wait if u cant trust the reviews than how do u know if something is good or not...?

So damn cute??? i ended up smiling till the end!!!!

Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! It was soo sooo soooooooo cute❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ probably the cutest BL I've ever watched. Both kota and naoya were soo adorable. I really loved this series and will most probably keep re-watching it cz it's a 0 stress watch but it's not like its just fluff and has a plot so i won't get bored. This drama just gave me all the feels.

The only thing i was not satisfied was probably the ending😭. It's a happy ending and a complete happy ending but i wish we'd get to see kota permanently moving in with naoya and also him giving him permission to kiss and go further🤭🤭.. i just realised the whole drama had 1 kiss and that was in episode 1 when naoya does it cz he thought kota would like it but after that they just kiss on the cheek😭😭 but i like that he waited for consent that we rarely see in BLs.. i wish this gets a special episode or something but that's not gonna happen cz this was 3 years ago. But overall it was a really good watch

i got surprisingly addicted to this

this was soooooooo cute. i personally can’t deal with second hand embarrassment but the way shinomiya looks so endeared at fukuhara even when he’s always doing something too much— how can i also not be endeared? plus sota is a great actor, his facial expressions are on point.

i watched episode 1 without knowing any background of the story so i initially found it rushed and your typical bl drama but after convincing myself to continue, i just can’t stop. i really really loved shinomiya’s character, his actions and words towards fukuhara, i want someone like him for me. ><

p.s. i love it when shinomiya smiles. i may or may not have fell in love

Cute, fluffy, perfect :)

The super unlucky Fukuhara Kouta and the super lucky Shinomiya Naoya, an undeniably powerful and interesting match. They cross paths extremely quickly in the series, something you don't see often in BLs. Usually, the couple gets together only at the end but here they get together at the end of the first episode because of Kouta's desperation of Naoya's luck. The two grow closer and closer after dating, and it is fun to watch every single episode. Nothing feels like filler, as it all helps the characters grow. I enjoyed the two individually and together. I also enjoyed the side characters, they were all likable and when they were not, it was for understandable reasons.

I thoroughly enjoyed the interactions of the two. I would have liked more physical affection from Kouta to Naoya, as we can tell he does like him, but his shyness is endearing nonetheless. Naoya is always straightforward with his love for Kouta, putting himself out there for his boyfriend. I loved his caring and sweet nature and watching Kouta melt for him too is super satisfying. I would highly recommend anyone to watch this. The pacing is great, the acting is entertaining and the chemistry is there. Japan is doing a great job with their BLs and I am happy :)
