Cliché and Predictable
The acting was amazing but the storyline was cliché and predictable. Queen of Tears was a very generic drama with not much suprises or super interesting moments. Neverthless, Kim soo hyun and Kim ji son did an amazing job acting which ultimately saved the show. Towards the end it got more boring with the plot becoming more and more predicatable. If you like generic and predictable dramas you will like this one but if you like dramas with interesting plots and developed characters this might not be for you.Was this review helpful to you?
Not as sad as I expected it to be
LIKEWhat Soo Cheol did for Da Hye - really touching
The exaggerating Beon Ja when she caused a scene - hilarious
When Soo Cheol spoke in Mandarin - OMG I laughed until I cried and re-played that scene just to laugh again
When Hae In overheard Hyun Woo and Yang Gi - I teared a litle
DISLIKE
Surprisingly, I did not cry as much which made me questioned myself if I had lost the ability to cry
Everyone was telling me they cried till they died but I just teared a little
I did not really feel the chemistry between Soo Hyun and Ji Won - they are both awesome artists so I'm not sure what's wrong here
One of the root causes of Hyun Woo and Hae In's relationship - it was briefly mentioned though I thought that was quite an important part. Not impactful enough for me
MUSIC - personal fav
The Reasons of My Smiles - BSS
Tell Me It's Not a Dream - 10CM
Hold Me Back - Heiza
Love You With All My Heart - Crush
Fallin' - Hong Issac
Can't Get Over You - Paul Kim
From Bottom of My Heart - Kim Na Young
Last Chance - So Soo Bin
REWATCH VALUE
Probably someday will re-watch if I have time

I cried too much and the show is great but not perfect.
SPOILERS AHEADCrush's "Love You With All My Heart" is what made me lead to watching this show. I listened to it so many times I could lose count. This was before I even watched Queen of Tears. While it may not be the best show I've ever seen, it has moved me to tears more than any other. Haven't you watched this? or that? You can tell me other shows are more heartbreaking than this but it's a fact that I just.....really really cried. I haven't watched too much K-drama just yet but I've watched anime for years and the only anime that made me cry was Maquia (movie), Violet Evergarden, and Angel Beats. I also cried at the end of Weak Hero Class 1 which was very emotional, I'd recommend that if you want something emotional but with no romance at all.
I think you can see what can make someone like me cry. Love? Oh wow you guessed it! Love! Which romance dramas all have hopefully. I will say that this time, my crying felt different. I cried all out when Hae In and her Mother reconciled with each other in the emergency stair case in the hospital. They...It was an immediate apology and acceptance for Hae In to her Mother which leaves some viewers questionable which I can understand because for one, the Mother ignored her a lot for 20 years since her eldest son drowned on the beach. Two, 20 years is way too long to realize that it wasn't Hae In's fault in the first place. This leaves some viewers not relating to the mother which in a way makes the mother look really evil and bad deep down. I don't really want to push this topic further because it's not something I'm familiar with. However, I'm familiar with accepting your family despite doing unnecessary things that will hurt everyone. I do think Hae In's mother is 100% in the wrong and only realizing after 20 years that she was being naïve and careless is kind of odd. I'm not a mother or father but I'm a son who has done "careless" things or the things that hurt my family a lot. If you're curious, it's nothing crazy and my family and I are to this day in good terms. They understood me, probably still confused at me, but at the end of the day they make sure I succeed and love myself. Hae In accepted her mother not because she apologized but because of finally able to get back on her senses and getting out of this stupid trauma. Her mother deep down was never bad because she loves her family and kids. Then she should've at least comfort Hae In right? You're right I know but not everyone is the same. Not everyone has the same path, brain or mindset. The mother lived that way, we don't know much we know her as a person. We don't decide who is bad immediately, they're bad if they think doing evil things is fun in the first place.
Yeah, that scene in the emergency staircase touched me the most because I know hurting your family isn't a good thing but being able to relive the moment of apologizing and being accepted is why I cried so much. I guess I am biased here with the show but I want to point out that it got kind of predictable with the villains towards the end. It felt like, the villain Yoon was trying so hard to be Hae In's lover but he doesn't know what true love feels like. This is common with love triangles which I've experienced witnessing when I watched romance anime.
I really loved every character well most of them. It was actually cool to see Socheol or Hae In's "special" brother go from being naive and caring to still being naive and yet even more caring. His character was basically meant to just be not really a rebel but to be himself and learn things he never was able to do since he lived in a rich family. The other characters were funny especially Beom-ja, the woman who divorced three times. Her romance development with one of the villagers in Hyun Woo's hometown was so wholesome especially the moment when she didn't realize she had a microphone on her neck and telling her feelings to that guy with a grandmother with dementia. That was also predictable ever since they encountered but their story was funny nonetheless.
I really loved "Love You With All My Heart" but I loved every song in the show. From the intro, The Reason of My Smiles, they killed literally every song especially the background music.
I'll never forget how much I cried especially episode 11. The ending didn't make me cry because I've cried way too much. I wasn't satisfied completely with how it ended since there could've been more but deep down, it's a good ending. Not the greatest show ever but the best cries I've had in a while if that makes sense. Rewatching it doesn't make sense since I won't be able to cry again but to be honest it would be another few years or decades to watch this again.

What happened??!
It was an interesting drama but i think it could have been better. The SUSPENSE was surely there...i kept wondering whats gonna happen next and everytime i thought like THIS IS IT now their difficulties are over......another shock just then. Though the second lead was just irritating. He got on my nerves sooo much and his mother but then THATS THE DRAMA.Was this review helpful to you?
Good but not quite great
I thought the acting was pretty good especially by the leads. I really enjoyed the chemistry between the 2 leads and their interactions throughout the show. The female lead was outstanding and truly carried the show. The story was enjoyable for the most part, however like many k dramas the last stretch of episodes the quality decreased. Too many fantastical occurrences and somehow the male lead survives them all. Besides the ending, i couldn't stand how often the male lead cries in every episode.
For me it was a tier below secretary Kim, Mr queen etc etc as the writing wasn't as good.

Queen of Tears Review - ZyKuu
"A marital crisis that rekindles love" - The story does start off slow, so you will need to be patient. The show also contains many plot twists that are unpredictable but there are moments where the plot seems overplayed. Luckily, both leads Hae-in and Hyun-woo demonstrated stellar chemistry and their acting ability carried the show at times. There were many scenes where the two were emotional towards each other and you could feel the intensity as a viewer. Their acting was so powerful that I became teary eyed at times. Eun-seong was one of the greatest villains I ever witnessed as I genuinely hated his character throughout the series. The side cast was amazing and the OST was perfectly selected to fit the mood and genre of this series. The romance was executed perfectly and the scenes in Germany were beautifully captured. This show makes me look forward to getting married one day!Was this review helpful to you?
Its a beautiful kdrama, the end of the serie is absolutely heartbreaking

Outstanding Cast
A-list Korean actors in this series save it from being another banal treatise on the excesses of the super rich. Kim Ji-won does an outstanding job as the brittle, cold, and superficial FL (Hong Hae-in) who is fabulously wealthy and--as it turns out--tough as nails. The ML, Kim Soo-hyun plays the kind, honest, handsome, athletic, intelligent Baek Hyeon-woo, who (for some reason) can’t get enough of Hae-in, who deigns to throw him a crumb now and then. In spite of the threadworn plot, the writing and acting give this drama a boost and elevate it to a higher level.
Unlike other Korean series, this one showcases some secondary characters who can actually hold the viewers’ interest.

First Half was good then a sudden downturn on the second half
Another series, that got us hook on the first half of the series, I don't know what happened but during the last stretch of the show except the last 15 mins of the series, is a repeat of the other series.A good story on the first half even brought in a strong cameo roles, but after the cameo role and after the surgery, the series sudden downturn in story is not what seems to be planned, if you remember an angry jealous suitor trying to get your wife then suddenly plotted a car accident, no context, the last 2 episode seems rushed, they could have extended it to 20 episode to give context on the accident, but it is what it is, series is over moving on
Cast is power house, can't say anything on the cast
Music, not so much, this is where i think the missing part of the series, a well composed OST that will ride the context of the story. even BGM is just ok.
Rewatch, May be episode 8 will be a rewatch that 10 min scene alone can be a rewatch value
another rewatch scene is the wife suddenly goes back to his husband and scolded by the parents,
this one scene just gets you.
Overall, its a good series, if you like the cast, but that's it.
story wise, it should have ended in 12 episodes instead of 16, or it should have been extended to 20.

Decent drama with good cast
"Queen of Tears" is a great show that mixes drama, love, and mystery really well. The actors are good, and the story keeps you interested. Sometimes you can predict what will happen, but it's still exciting. The sets and filming look really nice. The music could be better, but it's okay. Overall, "Queen of Tears" is a really enjoyable show. If you like drama and romance, you'll probably like it a lot.Was this review helpful to you?
Hype drama
I watched this bc it was popular but I did NOT enjoy watching it. I wanted to find out WHY it was popular. Most episodes were just ... frustrating bc the FL was super closed off and also quite mean and very egoistical and mental.... she did not follow her heart much and she did not THINK before she took actions...
So my payoff came late in the drama, when I learned of FL past. and then I connected the dots, how trauma in childhood, esp parental abuse and/or neglect influences people..... It is a miracle that FL was alive and functional... some other kid would have collapsed, like the villain did..
So my payout was watching the villain being caught in that field at the end and realizing how his difficult life and criminal mother shaped him to be a villain - and he didnt escape since he had no resources and supporters to guide him...
and how the FL was so lucky to survive HER mother's abuse and to stay somewhat funcitonal adult because she kept latching onto allies and she kept herself busy in productive ways...

Queen of Fillers
I had high hopes for this drama after watching the first 7/8 episodes. I was hoping it would be almost as good as Crash Landing on You but unfortunately it didn’t deliver.I’ll give it credit for the good things first: the acting was top notch across the board. Some of the emotional scenes did make me cry. The storyline in the first half of the show was really engaging and they set up a great premise.
But a few things made it fall short:
- I think the story about the MLs marriage could have been handled better but it was done in a superficial way, mostly through flashbacks. They focused mainly on the romance, in both the past and present. But this was not enough to really tell the story about how and why their marriage fell apart, and really flesh out the main characters. They should have used episodes 1-4 for this purpose but they didn’t.
- there were a few too many filler scenes/episodes in the second half of the show, up until the last 2 episodes where they quickly wrapped all the storyline’s up in a convenient way. There were a few things that didn’t make logical sense especially around the FL’s memory loss (it was very inconsistent). This made it hard to suspend disbelief. It would have been much better if they used more time in the final episodes to develop the plot, rather than for filler. There were too many romantic scenes that seemed almost repetitive in the second half.
