A Masterpiece
Was expecting this to be a show to kill time, but I ended up getting hooked by the story and concept. The pace is just right, the plot is smart.
It contains the concept of kinship, friendship, genre of comedy, suspense, thriller, mystery and slight bormance in 12 episodes.
It dives to the main plot straight ahead - which is how he got into an accident and woke up after - they filled the gap pretty quick. Also, when you think that the plot is just to solve last wishes of the deceased, I was wrong, it leads to a real investigation and the execution is just so brilliant. If you understand Chinese, it is even better as they do play around with the words and it creates a deeper meaning at the end of each episode.
Rewatch value is 10/10. It is similar to someday or one day, rainless love in a godless land. You got to watch several times to understand the deeper meaning. It is just smart, so if you are looking for an intellegent, short drama, this can be one.

Love is not the word!!
First thing first... Where is season 2 announcement. How dare you leave me like that?!?! Whether you think the show is BL or not is not my drama. This show was amazing. The story was unique and different which really got me in the beginning. Tseng Ching-hua is known for the amazing Your Name Engraved Herein by a lot of fans and he has continued in this series to bring amazing acting skills. When I started this show I thought it would be a lighthearted comedy, and while it did deliver on the comedy it gave so much more. The supernatural element was present in every episode while also providing a lesson on human nature and how far obsession can take you, The friendship between the three main characters was nothing short of hilarious and supportive. Like most love deprived people right now I was hoping for a little more to come from this , I am fully okay with them all just staying friends. They even continued the friendship while Pi Yi-Yong is not fully there. All the more reason why I'm very confused as to why the last episode said The End without really giving us an end. How dare you treat me this way.. Jokes.... Kinda. While I like a lot of people am hoping for another season for closure the show was amazingWas this review helpful to you?
A perfect 10 as there's truly nothing that can be improved on, great as it is❤️
This was an excellent Supernatural Mystery Drama with some comedic relief in between. My very first Taiwanese series!I took a bit longer to finish this 12 episode series because of the roller-coaster of emotions that were evoked.
A perfect 10 for me as there's truly nothing that can be improved on with this series, as it was great as is. Thought provoking and actually learnt something.
Truly impressed by the actors respectively male lead.
Everything from the story to the acting, Production, Visual effects and OST was ust right.
Rewatch is Medium, mainly due to the crying, etc. Will maybe Rewatch in a week or so ... Not any later though..

SEASON 2 PLEASE!!!
This is SO good, deserves way more limelight!!! Since I am timid, I mostly skip fantasy show as it is usually scary for me. But, this one is surprisingly okay! There is about 5% of scary scenes but that's about itFinally, get to enjoy this genre without being scared LOL...
It's well-balanced! We need more show like this!
It's funny but deep at same time. Lots of life lessons in each episode and beautiful family and friendships.
While this isn't BL, I feel the bromance has a little bit of the BL vibes, so I am totally enjoying that too..lol
The ending is so well done. Everything is answered and wrapped up nicely.
Most importantly, it doesn't drag!!! Initially, I wished that it has more episodes, but after I finished watching, I am happy at how it ends. The only thing is I wish there is second season coz I want MORE!!!!

If this doesn’t get a 2 season I am going insane
I was hyped for this drama months before it premiered. I knew it will be a total hit just by looking at the teasers. Iqiyi really stepped up their game with this one.The drama is just amazing, whatever I write here, it won’t be able to describe how much I enjoyed the story, the characters, the plot twists. You just need to go and watch it for yourself!!!
Unexpectedly I also found a healing aspect in this plot. I lost a family member really suddenly a few years ago and I could empathise with the main lead. I found myself crying numerous times watching all the scenes with his father, because they made me remember what I went through before. Showing the struggles of the family members, the pain from the loss, trying to continue living with this pain… It was so heartbreaking but also healing to watch. I really appreciate this part of the show.
The acting was amazing, I was familiar with the actors before watching the drama so I knew they will ace it.
Stop reading reviews and just watch it already!

"Words that have the power of the heart."
Did I just binge watched 12 episodes of an EPIC series?Well yes, yes I did. And it was so worth every second of it.
Well balanced comedy with emotional damage in the mix
If they don't make a second season am gonna throw hands. (╯‵□′)╯
I *cof cof* we need more of Pu Yi Yong, mainly now that he assumed his role and legacy.
This just shows there's no need for over bearing romance or even the so dreaded love triangle within a plot to make it a great series. Friendship works just fine, the bond that unites these three is more than enough. The ML matches well with either the FM or the SML, he has this natural charm that the character Yi Yong gives to everyone he interacts with, like a warm comfort feeling to those he meets and helps. He is a broken little boy, a coming of age teen that suffered a huge loss and gained an immeasurable responsibility with the legacy that runs in his family. Still, there was no one better than him to do so.
Yi Yong may be "slow" as he says he is (even though he is street smart more than the others, intelligence is not always measured by the amount of studies or books one reads, what he lacks in the that and by the time he lost, he delivers with the passion in his heart to help those who can't speak for themselves), and may seem rough around the edges giving his natural poker face stare and unpolished remarks, but whenever he is pulled into a situation his empathy and kind heart make him teach valuable moral lessons to those around him. After all the word that pulled all those entities to cross his path, and that brought him Chu Ying and Guang Yan was exactly what describe Yi Yong the best. Nothing is a coincidence here.
He changed both Chu Ying and Guang Yan in both perspective and personality wise, they both have grown a lot thanks to him and his actions. And Yi Yong himself has also matured as the story progressed, learning more about his skills but also about the thin veil of other realms and entities. Yi Yong helped those the common mortals could not see or reach a helping hand to do so.
While grieving on his own he helped others in the best possible way he could.
I know it's a great series when Fandy Fan is part of the cast, even as a support role. Now, this is an actor that plays well with the heartstrings of the viewers whenever he does angsty roles. If my heart broke for him in More than Blue the series, in here he did it again. His episode and character was so sad and sadly enough so incredibly realistic too on the theme of loneliness and the importance of knowing a name, of acknowledging someone's existence of learning about their endless loneliness, that it takes us all into the perspective on how we treat and see others around us. It's so tragic how many lives are lost like this. Nameless, forgotten to everyone. Still, there's always someone who cares enough to try and know more. How they did it here was magical and enchanting to see. The tattoo being the sole companion, the bond that linked many characters from different status and backgrounds only for that single person who had a caring heart but that no one acknowledge in life... taught them all in death. The line... "He finally became a teacher." was so heartbreaking and yet so true. It reminds us to value people more.
Another thing that I like about this series is how realistic it portrays loss and grief. From fears and into superstitions to all the moral lessons as well. All those elements, wrapped into a nicely balanced comedy to break in between the heartwarming and heartbreaking moments make this a great drama to behold. The best part is how well the OST compliments this series and how is well used with the dialogue scenes. And let's not get started with the special CGI effects and camera angle shots that added more depth into this masterpiece. Whenever he grinded the ink stick into the stone as the heartstrings followed, and then picked the brush to write the heartfelt message, how the ink moved and gained life was amazing to see, among many others.
Definitely a must on everyone's WL. It's the type of series that increases the re-watch value too.

Threading the line between reality and fantasy!
wow, what a rollercoaster ride of a show. First of all, this show is hard to define by one genre. It has comedy, thriller, horror, coming-of-ages themes. The show is also patient with its storytelling and doesnt treat the viewer like a dumb child. The pilot episode is arguably one of the best i've seen, and it ends on a high note as well. The acting was a big stand-out in this show, especially by Tseng jing hua who absolutely nailed the character. Pu yi yong as a main character is sooo likable, yet complex, funny and caring. His relationship with Chu ying and Guang yan truly is the heart of the show. I also adored his mom and his scenes with his dad and grandpa.I do think this is one of those shows where its better to go in blind and simple experience the show as it goes on, so I won't talk too much about the actual plot. I will say that the episodic format isnt my favorite, even though it pays of at the end, I wish we could spend more times with the overarching story. That really is my only complaint. This truly is a excellent show that truly took me by surprise, will end HIGH up on my year end list.

an absolute delight
Such a delight to watch. Loved it so much. The crime solving trio was amazing and so much fun to watch (especially Yi Yong and Guang Yan. They had me rolling with laughter so many times). The balance of comedy and heart wrenching drama was perfect and the ending episode had me at the edge of my seat. The only thing I would say is that, while well done, I don't really like episodic shows. Though this one did tie all the stories together nicely at the very end.And even though it doesn't need it, I would love to come back to these characters with another season, but as it is, I'm content with how this ended.

UNDERRATED DRAMA
OK I have to write a review for this FANTASTIC DRAMA. I finish it in 2 days.NO SPOILER:
Once in a while you found dramas that at first you don't think you will love it so much or just to pass time and this is an example. This drama is FANTASTIC. The story was very original, not the usually mistery/ criminal drama that I'm used to see, I mean the way they use to help people.... I love this unique touch.
The main lead is a normal kid, shy doesn't talk much and doesn't know what he wants to do in life. Well actually he knows, but is afraid to express it because is not the usual carrer path that others expect of him. He has low confidence in himself but has an big heart. He is actually more smart and has skills that people ignore. He also is experiencing grief and guilty from the accident what makes this drama more unique.
SPOILERS
STORY.
The obsessive creatures actually helped him with the grief and he helped back. He also learned more about himself and gain confidence in each episode.
The obsessions creatures coming back to wake him up was pure gold. Glad he could see his dad one last time, I cried happy tears when YY was crying.
ACTING
The acting was amazing here, love the mother-son relationship and how they support each other. Is good to see parents that actually support their kids dreams.
FRIENDSHIP
The relationship between the cop and high school "enemy" was amazing. The chemistry between the three is perfect, I'm so glad it was no love triangle here just pure friendship. the bromance was fun and unique, never saw anything like this.
This is a 10/10 drama for me.

a scar
i honestly did'nt expect this drama to be this good. based on the synopsis, it seemed like a fairly ordinary story, nthn too special at first glance. but once i started watching, i quickly realized how wrong that assumption was. everything in this drama is crafted with so much care n balance. the way comedy, horror, n investigation are blended together feels surprisingly natural, never messy or forced. instead of clashing, these elements support each other n make the story richer n more emotionally engaging.the trio of yiyong, chu ying, n guang yan is 1 of the strongest aspects of the drama. they truly complete one another. each character brings something unique, whether it is emotional depth, logic, or warmth, n together they form a dynamic that feels both entertaining and meaningful. their interactions are not only enjoyable to watch, but also help ground the story, especially when the narrative dives into darker n heavier themes. their teamwork feels sincere, n h can sense a genuine bond growing between them as the story progresses.
one of the most touching parts of the drama is how every episode carries its own meaning. every time they help or resolve the story of a wandering spirit, it is never just abt finishing a case. there is always an emotional message behind it, often related to regret, injustice, love, or unresolved pain. these stories leave a lingering impact, making each episode feel important rather than disposable. the drama takes its time to remind the audience that every soul, every story, and every loss matters.
the comedy is also placed very well. it doesn't undermine the seriousness of the plot, but instead eases the tension at the right moments. bcz of this, the drama never feels overwhelmingly dark or exhausting to watch. the lighter moments make the emotional scenes hit even harder, creating a balanced rhythm that keeps the audience fully invested.
the plot twists, especially toward the end of episodes, are genuinely shocking. the revelation that the cake seller was the murderer completely caught me off guard. it was unsettling and heartbreaking at the same time. the possibility that he suffered from mental illness adds another layer of tragedy to the story. even though the drama has not fully explained his motive for killing the two children, that ambiguity somehow makes the story feel more realistic and disturbing. not every crime comes with clear answers, and this unresolved question lingers in the viewer’s mind.
overall, this drama is deeply moving and exceptionally well made. it is the kind of story that slowly pulls u in n refuses to let go. by the time i finished watching, i realized i had cried without even noticing when it started. this is not just a drama meant to entertain, but one that stays with you emotionally long after the screen goes dark

When fantasy meets life! Go for it!
This drama was an absolute blast! I went into it without expecting much other than the fact that i'm rather a fan of fantasy centered work and oh boy was I served! The acting, the stories, the vfx, everything was great! It was quite nice that the stories aren't that complicated, they're simple but still very much engaging by how common and humane they tended to be. The special effects, especially with the ink and red strings were nice and added something dark to the drama, reminding us that this is a fantasy/occult work. Imho, they did such a good job at balancing comedy, slice of life, fantasy and drama, that's why I titled this when fantasy meets life. It is, after all, just a bunch of stories about people and their feelings and the lessons about life and sometimes all of that can be magical.
The trio took a bit of time to form but every scene with the three of them was incredible, their tiki taka and friendship was nice to witness and to see grow to what it was by the end. It was lively and you could feel it trhough the screen. Besides, i loved that we had the chance to have a storyline for each of these characters outside their friendship. It made them more 4D.
THE CAMEOS!!!!!!! I was so surprised and happy to see familair faces, definitely made my watching more enjoyable!
Finally, i don't why this hasn't got a season 2 until now because the potentiel of these characters and their story is HUGE and it would definitely work. Hoping to meet them again!

The ghosts were fine. It’s the feelings that attacked me.
This drama was a weird little cocktail — equal parts ghostly hijinks, heartfelt moments, and existential chaos — and somehow, it worked. I went in expecting a quirky mystery with some mild horror, not a full emotional ambush. I didn’t think a show tagged with ghosts and supernatural chaos would make me cry that much, but here we are — ugly-crying over what was supposed to be a spooky comedy. It’s genuinely funny, surprisingly touching, and sneakily profound beneath all the absurdity. Then came that ending. Surviving a two- or three-story fall with a bloodied head? Sure, miracles happen, but this one felt like it skipped medical realism entirely. And the second coma? At that point, it was less “tragic fate” and more “the universe needs new material.” Coming out of two comas before thirty without a hint of brain damage is... impressive, if not scientifically sound. So when he finally woke up again, I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, or send flowers to his poor neurons.
Still, I get why they went for a hopeful close, even if part of me wished they’d let the story rest where it naturally wanted to. I know most viewers crave happy endings, but I’ll always choose an honest one over a convenient miracle. It’s how I write too — I follow where the story leads, not where it’s comfortable.
Despite my issues with the finale, this drama remains funny, heartfelt, and strangely moving. It’s messy in logic but rich in feeling — the kind of show that sneaks up on you, makes you laugh, and somehow leaves you crying anyway.
