Short and enjoyable youth rom-com, don't expect anything more :)
PLOT: At university, the first FL/ML encounters are unlucky/catastrophic. However, fate brings them together (shared love of math, swimming and climbing clubs, etc.), although romantic rivals create numerous misunderstandings.+++ I don't really like Ireine Song. Her previous roles, with her childlike appearance and characters with childish behavior, annoyed me. But here, she plays a convincing student. I really like the ML, Guo Zi Fan.
+++ Fast-paced direction, with no dull moments.
+++ The story is fairly coherent (no great villain, but -as usual- a childhood friend / one-side lover obsessed ) and the OST is appropriate.
### In dramas, the PTSD therapies implemented (here, by student friends and a psychology intern—what's the point of psychiatric clinics in China??) are appallingly amateurish!
### Quite a few plot holes in the storyline: the breakup is resolved with a mathematical symbol? No really schooling or exams? Virtually no parents? Etc.
### Limited budget, but used fairly well.
=> Short and enjoyable (don't expect anything more) youth rom-com.
****************************************************
Etc.
### Budget limité mais assez bien utilisé.
=> Série Rom-Youth courte et agréable (sans plus).

Love Formula is a good drama, complete package,
What I can say about this drama is that the story is good and their love story is cute, they are enemies at first because they always don't understand each other and then the guy doesn't listen to their explanations, he is angry but has compassion, his showing compassion is not vulgar, the story is smooth, both are smart in math and capable, and the love story is enemy to lovers, and the best thing is Jian Dan's love is strong and doesn't give up easily even when it hurts, just like the title of the book Hypatia a mathematician martyr. I miss that love story, I like it very much. Song YiRen doesn't disappoint me in all her dramas, her acting is always on point, whatever role she is given, she plays it well, we the viewers are carried away by every story she plays. Was this review helpful to you?
Delightful engaging
Randomly clicked on this show and surprisingly find it really cute. Looked at cast and even more surprised that even though they’re university entering students, the female lead is actually thirty two? She can pass to be a high schooler, middle schooler even. While nothing really new of the storyline, which is a clumsy, new student, and her unwarranted run ins with the popular guy, it’s the acting that glues you in. The girl lead is an aggressively enterprising person. Highly motivated to do well, self starter in her likes, she appeals to me. While doing all that, it leads her to some bizarre run ins with the lead guy. Yeah, these producers are getting really creative with the ‘accidental’ kiss thing, it had me eye roll laugh. The thing is, she’s totally unaware too much of the stir she’s causing as she’s focused on herself and her determination at her goals. With the student side characters who add to this delightful developmental story, it’s cute.

Completed, But I Need More.
Another school-setting drama for youth drama fans. I rated it this way because most of it felt pretty neutral to me. I was excited at first—the early episodes had me hooked—but once the couple became official, my excitement slowly packed its bags and left. 😅 I don’t know why, but in many romance dramas, the second the couple gets together, the fun fades. I guess I enjoy more of their chaotic chemistry than all the soft, lovey-dovey moments. Also… I kind of expected Yue Tang Tang to join the main group in exchange for Gu En Tong. No offense, but Yue Tang Tang had something more going on for me. She reminded me a bit of Gu En Tong, but with more spark—and honestly, I felt bad seeing her always alone. Like, does she have a single friend on campus? She deserved better!
One thing that kept bugging me: are they supposed to be in college or high school? Because some of the girls (excluding my girl Zi Shan, of course—icon behavior) act way too childish for college students. It broke my immersion a little, and yeah, I hit the fast-forward button a few times.
And of course, the classic drama move—misunderstandings caused by not talking. Please, I'm begging. So many issues could’ve been avoided if someone just said, “Hey, can we talk?” But nooo, let’s all suffer quietly and pretend that’s romantic.
That said, it’s still a pretty recommendable drama if you're into lighter school romances. It didn’t fully hit for me, but who knows? You might vibe with it more than I did!

overly hectic - not my cup of tea
Right on the first episode, I already found it off - too cliche. Meeting up while bumping each other would have been fine, but having a mathematical conversation in the middle of the pedestrian lane after bumping each other is just so random. I understand how they are trying to be quirky with the plot and script, but I don't think it just works out well with this one. Another thing that I want to point out as well is who even put math notebooks in front of a swimming pool, especially one that you value? Has no one ever thought that "oh, the notebooks are made of paper, it's going to be wet here." Then, even more cliche things happened even after that. The good thing about this drama, though, is their character building. Jian Dan started as someone who didn't care about looks, but over time, she went out of her comfort zone. I did find her quite annoying and 'too much' as a character being quirky at the beginning, but after that, she actually toned down a bit. Yan Sheng, however, as a character, is too common - the kind of male lead to find someone annoying, then gets mean, and feels pity for Jian Dan. It's just like using the same formula of characters, cold guy meets quirky girl - and I don't see anything original coming from this, which made me decide to just drop the series.
I swear, I did try my best to like this when usually I stop right away after the first episode, but this drama is just not meant for me. It might work out for some. Depending on your preference, please try watching it first by the first episode.

Just... Non
I really tried, but Love Formula just didn’t work for me. The female lead is starting to look too old to play a college student, and her acting isn’t strong enough to make up for it. She’s not engaging, and the age gap with the male lead is way too noticeable // it’s distracting and made it hard to get into the story. On top of that, the show is packed with overused tropes and clichés. After skipping through several parts and struggling my way to episode 5, I’m calling it quits. I’ve already lost enough bits of my life watching this.

FOFO E INSPIRADOR!❤️

7.5/10
