Lindo! perfeito! esse dorama é um dos melhores que eu já assisti! muito delicado e forte! chorei até desidratar, cada episódio era um tiro no peito. Acredito que esse dorama mudou minha vida e minha visão de mundo. Em muitos momentos me identifiquei e vi minha família também.De modo geral, a história é encantadora e muito profunda e é incrível como conseguiram juntar um cast tão perfeito, não só de aparência por se parecerem tanto como também pela qualidade das atuações. Todos foram muito bem e impressionantes. A cinematografia também é linda! fiquei apaixonada! A trilha sonora? perfeita! Enfim, muito feliz de ter visto esse dorama que é lindo do início ao fim!

This backdrop adds richness to the storytelling, intertwining themes of love, hardships, and societal norms—many of which still resonate in our present time.
Each character is thoughtfully written, bringing depth and uniqueness to the unfolding narrative. The drama appears to take multiple time skips, alternating between timelines. Young Ae-Sun, who dreams of becoming a poet, and the quiet yet devoted Gwan-Sik, whose reserved nature hides a journey of self-discovery. Their evolving relationship, filled with support and personal growth, adds an emotional weight to the story.

A Deep Dive into Love, Time, and Culture
This is one of the best dramatic series I have seen so far. It’s a real journey through time, immersing us in this island, its culture, and this era. At the crossroads of changing times: patriarchal repression, when a woman’s existence was only allowed beside her husband. Here, we see an impeccably portrayed character of a strong, extroverted young woman with her determination and ideals.The female characters (IU and her mother) are strong, fighters, determined, patient, but what I love is that they’re not selfish (like Emma Bovary, Carrie Miber... even though they have their nuances). Here, they are strong and deeply humane. There is a strong feminist message, but it’s so touching, full of love for their children, family, and values. The protagonist is grateful to her mother, and I love her character (a truly well-developed heroine).
Beside her is the boy who complements her: an introvert, always by her side, loyal, protective, but also a rebel. He loves his family and will go to the end in his desires. He doesn’t forget his wife’s dreams (it’s so idealized :)) but I love it :)
The first sincere love, touching, strong, funny, and at the same time awkward. All the veteran actors (the mother, so touching, so realistic and majestic) and the children are excellent. The pair of Bo Gam and IU look so good together; they perfectly execute their roles, they are them, and it suits them. We see IU in a completely new light, and I like it. Maybe Bo Gam is a little like his real self? In any case, it feels like he’s just being himself.
This is a masterpiece among Asian series, made in Korea. With one of the best directors, one of the best screenwriters, and talented actors. The cinematography, colors, like a painting: with beautiful transitions. And the moments with lots of action or comedic scenes are shot in a way that makes you feel part of their world.
The music with traditional elements is simply genius, both at the opening and throughout the series. And the song by Chu Da Hye (this singer was such a find for me) in a retro-disco style with some folk!!! is just incredibly cool, I absolutely adore it!
The style is slow, and we experience it as if we were reading a book rather than watching a series, opening every page and every chapter of their lives. This might not be for everyone, but those who are looking for emotions (of all kinds), a slow narrative, and outstanding work will be satisfied. The quality of the work is similar to *Pachinko*, but the atmosphere is completely different—lighter, even when it's sad.

Story and actors all too good! Must watch this drama if you're checking it out. This must be like a drama of the decade. It shows what below poverty actually struggle to meet the ends and the love and hate for one another in family. No matter what happens, family can work it out. I don't really rate movies or shows if it is not really good. This is really worth watching drama. Kudos to everyone who were involved in this awesome drama.Was this review helpful to you?
Even if you are not a kdrama fan, you will not regret watching this.
4 episodes in but I can already say that this is one of the best kdramas ever made. This slice of life drama definitely exceeded my expectations. Despite the flashbacks, the story is not dragging. The cinematography, the acting, the flow of story are all greatly done.Kudos to IU and Bo Gum. You have done well!!! I think this your best kdrama project so far.
Prepare tissues because you will surely get emotional.

Beautiful and poignant.I didn’t feel like I was watching a drama....It felt like more like remembering a life.
There is something beautiful yet at times unsettling about how this story unfolds. I watched it with a familiar feeling I carry -that sense of time slipping by and knowing I’ve understood life too late. ..somehow, this drama seemed to understand that feeling without ever saying it directly.
There is a quiet grief running through it… not of loss alone, but of realisation that we didn’t always know what mattered when we were living it....in moments that don’t feel important — until all too late, they are.
Things we held onto when we should have let go…and let go when we should have held on. Life doesn’t arrive as we imagined.
And yet...it still gives us something.
Maybe something small.
Definitely something fleeting.
Something we maybe only understand when we look back.

This review is against the majority of reviews - but here is how I found the drama.I attempted twice to watch the drama given its extremely high ratings. But get could'nt get beyond ep 1 when I first started watching it and beyond ep 3 in my 2nd attempt.
The characters are extremely annoying and harsh in their speech esp. the female lead. She completely disregards everyone around her. The male lead is another annoying character who will keep tailing the female lead even though she keeps shouting at him all the time ever since they were kids. Like does this guy has even a pinch of self-respect or what! Their actions are completely childish and it is not entertaining also!

Perfection!
So much anticipation for this, and been waiting like forever (since knowing of it from 2023) and finally!Of course it's IU and Park Bogum so no doubt that it'll be a hit! The caliber they both have in the industry! Theyre so excellent in delivering the right emotions! All casts actually are so great! The little/younger versions Aesoon and Gwansik were so amazing! With the excellent storyline, they've made a 101% masterpiece! Perfection, no question!
The plot has made an overall impression; it is excellent in telling the story of life, love, dreams, and all of the problems that can be conquered with love, trust, and belief. We fail, but then we learn to be strong and endure. The endless love and support that the main characters have with each other are the most iconic, so lovely and heartwarming .
