IS LOVE HEALS ??

Over all the story line is soso idk why I was not satisfied with the ending 😮‍💨 I feel like ending was unclear.

CASTING
ML and FL did a good job but because I have watched other dramas

MUSIC
no problems its always good in every dreama

I don't recommend to re-watch it it's lengthy and gets boring. I liked the adventure in Africa at the start of drama as episodes passed it gets boring and boring

BUT I LIKED 2ML AND FL 😁 ACTUALLY THEY KEEP ME FROM LIVING THIS DRAMA

overall it's best for watching for once 😜

Romance Takes a Backseat to the Monotony that can be Medical Research

This started off as an engaging show. The adventures in Lakanya served as a nice foundation for the romance to build between the leads. Moreover, the timing used to move the story to China was well orchestrated . Though I enjoyed the ML being utterly smitten with the FL at times he came off embarrassingly pathetic especially when he and her first got together. He became less desperate as the story progressed but could still be obsessive and stalkerish.

Nearly all the supporting characters could be annoying but they too mellowed out with time. Save for the FL’s nemesis who was nothing short of insufferable and cartoonish. The SML had potential but unfortunately the writers decided to turn him into an un ethical ass whose only excuse was mommy and daddy issues. SMH.

The series introduced characters that could’ve been integrated into the story in an interesting way but were promptly dropped without warning. There were storylines that could’ve been key to the overall plot that were dropped as well. The love and angst of the romance was at times good but got bogged down with the Huntington Disease plot. Though the ML was obviously deeply in love with the FL I found it hard to believe he’d give up his research on glioma and being a neurosurgeon both of which he was passionate about to go into the black hole that was researching a disease in which finding funding and finding a cure was futile.

The ending left me confused. Was the FL dead? Or in a long term care facility and thus unable to attended the conference on the breakthrough the ML had made with a drug to treat Huntington’s? The way she was framed in that last scene it looked as if it was the former. Either way it was sad.

The acting was good. The leads had nice chemistry but some awkward kisses. Not sure why that was, being as the actors heights matched well which should’ve made their close moments easier to pull off realism in those romantic moments. This started as an interesting love story but then became all about Huntington ‘s Disease. I can appreciate the writers going there, as it’s so rare for Asian dramas to address disease and imperfections but I much preferred the focus on the neurological activities and medical emergencies that arose with known and random patients

Sad Ending

They can make ending happy but they have to make it look sad which will cause pain in heart. Talk about acting that is best but story is not that romantic compared to total episode. Sometimes french and chinese are mixed in initial episode. Although story relate to real world where to do clinical trials some company do underground trials which is a stain in human and its humanitarian

A frail story thats redeeming factor rests in the talent and effort of the cast.

This was a journey to watch, and not one which I care to say I found I enjoyed all the way through. It's not the show is bad, but it also isn't great either. Rather, it just isn't particularly memorable.

Let's start with some positives:

- The cast in this is not the problem. If anything, they are the biggest strength this drama has. Everyone is talented, and it is clear to see that they are doing what they can with what they've been given. Other than maybe one or two side characters that felt a bit out of place, I have no real complaints about any of the actors or actresses. If anything, the charm they brought to their roles is what kept me watching, and is going to make me want to dig into other dramas from the actors I haven't watched as much from before.

- Location and set designs were lovely.

- The side couple in this show are adorable, and I honestly wish we could have seen more of them and the story that was there for them.

- Lakaya's inspiration and how it's based on the West African country of Gabon is incredibly interesting to me, and it was nice to see something different like that in a drama. Gabon is also French speaking, and China has been sending medical teams to aid there since 1977. (https://kisskh.at/discussions/love-is-panacea/121233-shooting-locations-dates-and-some-other-considerations).

However, the show weighs more negatives for more than positives:

- I have not read the novel that this drama was based on, so I cannot speak on the novels' behalf. Yet in terms of the drama, I found that at many moments the plot was frustrating. For a story that's supposed to focus on Huntington's Disease, I felt like it was cheap. Rather than focusing on how it affects the familiar and those that suffer and carry the gene for themselves, or the story of the doctors work into finding a cure whilst hitting problems and obstacles, we spend a good chunk of the drama watching our antagonists make decisions and act in ways that just aren't believable for what the story is trying to tell us. I think I spent more time rolling my eyes at something either Du Yuncheng or Wen Ran had planned, because they just never quit!

- The main couple take a long time to finally get and stay together. Which would be fine, if by the time they do I wasn't already put off and resolute that honestly, both these characters probably deserved better than each other. Su Wei'an's actions are meant to show more her fear of entering a relationship when she knows she carries the gene for Huntington's and will one day succumb to the terrible disease, and while it is perfectly understandable why she would want to distance herself and the person she loves from the pain of that future, her actions become cruel towards him in the process. It's only when she thinks Gu Yunzheng has passed away that she understands the risk of happiness would have been worth the pain, but by that point it feels too little too late. Gu Yunzheng on the otherhand is just as frustrating, as rather than leaving Su Wei'an alone, he becomes determined to make her see reason in dating him. To the point that it becomes rather uncomfortable and pressuring.

- There are so many moments in this drama that just feel added in order to push the plot forward from a point where it hit a stalemate. The hospital pandemic that eventually has Gu Yunzheng and Su Wei'an together, for one. Characters that just appear to cause friction and drama for the couple and then disappear forever. Characters from the Lakaya plotline in the beginning that are just forgotten and never referred to again.

- The horrible way Su Wei'an's aunt just feels like she's there to show how far Du Yuncheng will abuse her desperation for help. She's *literally* only ever used a plot device to show he's smuggling her drugs that aren't signed off yet, or how he's using her to show good grace and abusing her condition to show how his own research is doing well. Like I don't think there is many moments in this show where Su Yuan is allowed to have some hope or happiness, her main reason for being there is as a tool.

This show could have been something really quite special, but instead it fell into the wasteland of 'dramas I watched one actor and that I will soon forget about'. If you're looking for a medical drama, there are many better and stronger ones out there. Only really check this out if you're really invested in doing so, otherwise, don't waste your time.

Some small flaws, but overall an enjoyable watch

Going into this drama, I was a little bit concerned at the 34 episode runtime since I find a lot of cdramas (even with less episodes) tend to drag and lose their momentum halfway through, and with this having quite a long runtime I expected it would suffer the same fate. However, I got completely sucked into the story and 34 episodes absolutely flew by without me really getting bored at all at any point.

To start, I really enjoyed the main characters of Su Wei'An and Gu Yunzheng, and I thought both actors did a great job of portraying them. As for the side characters, I think they were all well cast too, and although some of the characters are quite insufferable, since they were supposed to be very morally grey at best, it worked fine for the characters and the story. The only characters I was somewhat led down by were the second lead couple. While I liked both characters and they were fine together, I honestly didn't really feel like they brought anything to the story and there were times I kind of forgot that they were even there since a lot of the story, especially in the later episodes, doesn't focus on them at all. This wasn't a huge deal since the characters themselves were very inoffensive, but they did fall a little flat for me which was disappointing.

I also found the story engaging, despite it not really being what I expected. I didn't really know anything going into this, other than that the female lead had an incurable disease, so I was expecting it to mostly focus on that and be quite a heartbreaking drama, but it actually focused more on the medicine side of things and we don't actually see very much of her dealing firsthand with the illness at all. While I didn't necessarily expect it to go in this direction, I still really enjoyed the story and I became so invested in the main characters that it flew by for me.

My biggest criticisms of this drama are mostly to do with the production. To start, the dubbing was absolutely awful - particularly for the French parts in the earlier episodes, the lines weren't really convincing at all and they were dubbed so badly they didn't even remotely match up to the actors lips on screen. The general Chinese dubbing was also not great, and the sound design overall was really poor - some of the audio sounded completely fuzzy or almost underwater at times, or was just cut really poorly. I also found a lot of the directing and editing choices to be quite poor, and again I found that the occasional scene was cut poorly, to the point where I genuinely thought the website was glitching a couple of times but it was actually just the drama. There was also a constant issue of the lighting/colouring of the scene completely changing every time the lyrics came up on screen, which, while subtle, gave almost a flashing effect to the scenes because it would get lighter/darker every time the lyrics appeared or disappeared. While all of this didn't really impact my enjoyment of the show overall, it was pretty disappointing and I feel like the drama could have been a lot stronger with a better production team.

I also found the ending to be kind of underwhelming. While it kind of ended how I expected, it felt like a lot of stuff happened in the final few episodes after the story being pretty slow paced for the rest of the show, and the final scene just didn't really land for me. I wish that things with the main plot had started to be wrapped up a little earlier, and we'd gotten more depth to the characters' endings than we did.

All that said, most of the issues I had with this drama were very minor and overall I enjoyed watching this drama a lot, and would recommend it if you at all enjoy medical dramas, or are a fan of any of the actors in the show.

Miss, for me..

This was not my cup of tea. I was looking forward to it because I have been a fan of Luo Yunxi since Ashes of Love and was mesmerized with Till the End of the Moon. The writing here is so lukewarm, that it does our ML no justice. I was familiar with Zhang Rue Nan when I first watched her in Date with the Future. I liked her role as the relentless, kind, tough young reporter and was hoping her role would, once again, be along those lines. It is to an extent, but it falls short because she makes herself so unlikeable in this drama. I don't know what it is. Perhaps, the writers are at fault here for writing her in a way that made me feel less than charitable towards her. The way she pushed away our ML may have been necessary for the conflict in the story, but there has to be some underlying pull to counteract the push. All I saw is push here, and she gave off some very negative vibes. That, and the lack of chemistry between the leads killed it for me. I was happy the secondary couple did not take away too much air time from the main leads, but they almost disappear completely at times. Still, there was some annoying cliches and some outright ridiculous medical implausibilities that really raised my eyebrows. I will continue to watch Luo Yunxi because I can't fault him for this stinker of a show, but no more Zhang Rue Nan dramas. She is cute, but there is nothing in her performances that screams overwhelming desire to see her in anything ever again. Cui Yi, as Su Wei An's mother, was a biggest bright spot in this dull drama.

Should be a good one, but it has some negative points

I dont care whether a drama has happy / sad ending. It wont affect my rating

This drama whole plot is fine. But it has some negative points

Chinese drama lately often picture a marriage which not approved by parents. Gu Yun Zheng couldnt forgive his father until the end. This is BAD example for family in real life. I dont think govt should approve this / keep promoting this kind of culture

This Gu Yun Zheng always to find perfection but in the end he also couldnt save his most loved person.

I couldnt understand why if SWA doesnt have hipertension, why she wont try to take HDQ 39. Since it only has negative adverse effect for hipertension ppl such as her aunt

Acting is good
Ost are excellent
But morale story i dont really like at some points. Ending is good though IMO, realistic

80% of Cdrama based on novel, this make drama plot cant have creativitiy. Stick with novel although it is unrealistic at some points. They should have more dramas NOT based on novel so can have free, creative and realistic scenario

Great ? for trying to heal depression and saving life

This tv series has romance but that’s not all what important! It’s a controversial issue about someone who’s been dismissed from graduating medical as a profession because of jealousy of her supposedly best friend she trusted and her connection because she comes from a rich and educated family- an evil purpose! It’s a story of trying to heal not just disease , depression and most important is trying to find how to help people who are suffering from Huntington disease ! I like 👍🏾 this because, it made me understand Huntington disease and we hopefully 🙏🏾 one day help them to heal .

Good medical drama for doctor that forget what he need to do except money.

The drama story is very good for medical drama. It's have many research about medical.i like lou yunxi and zhang ruonan chemistry. How zhang ruonan inteprate her character as chinese women who fall in love have a shy whenever kiss scene happen. The love story overall good but not too much . In medical view it's good many time writer and director many times make reminder for doctor that forget what the doing because of money with hippocratic oath. Because i see many doctor forget about that too. It give a few different insight too about parenting not always father or mother true. But we have bad father too. In research about new drug the gave a lottle explanation that good too for people not know about drug know how difficult too make a new drug.. rewatch story for me is in middle because not many very touching story, romantic,or not too medical too. It's more about how huttington disease patient fight for the disease and good doctor, bad doctor and bad drug factory.
The bad thing:
1 in medical they doing cardiac shickin true way. But the ecg is false it's need to 0 first before come to normal because it's the effect of pacemarker, and they drill patient head it's true but it need on proper place don't in middle road, have good research about medical but not enough.
2 the love story touching but not too romantic because too many story that not too important add in there.
3 The second women and men story too few .the antagonist reason for become bad people logic is nonsense too.
4 the ending not tensed and sad ending. The tensed feeling and romantic feeling sometimes too shallow. When the men love the women it's not too clear how he love her. It's just make because only small contact and good way of meeting her. He fall in love with her. Need a few fixed.
5 parent. It's make the mother and farher is too bad person. But have a new way to tell not all parent perfect and they need people make judgment too.
Good thing:
1 in medical it give people know more about what docter need to do. Like drill the head when herniasi brain happen, Doing shock in approite time not in 0 heart rate people, process of research new drug is good way.
2 in love story their chemistry good and how the actress acting in very traditional way shy when kiss it's very good detail need to add because now many chinese film too open like west people.
3 in drug research it's good they tell we need a step from animal, people in small number and big number people all need to do.
4 for the parenting new way of thinking about not all parent is right.but not too wise too because chinese is cultural country about respect parent and teacher.
5 this film can watch till end but for me not too good to rewatch

OMG! Can we have better script and plot. It is bad in so many levels. Don't waste your time.

Love is Panacea is another drama about a top-notch, intelligent doctor who falls in love with his student.

I watched about 6 episodes of Love is Panacea, and don't waste your time on both. I love Leo Luo, and Zhang Ruo Nan has better on-screen chemistry with William Chan than Leo Luo. Here are the reasons why I am dropping these two:
- Love Is Panacea: Leo Luo and ZRN's on-screen chemistry is cheesy and non-existent.
- The plot is so stupid, and they try to make things more exciting and dangerous, but the delivery of it is so bad.
- This one is similar to South Winds Know, which was so bad that I don't want to invest any more time in it after I have watched 5 episodes.
- Like South Winds with doctors go to M Country to help the poor and needy, then run into local terrorist-terrified people. In Love is Panacea, Dr. Gu went to Lacaya with a similar plot; instead of speaking English, they speak French.

I fell asleep watching it because it was so boring, and the 2nd CP acted so badly as well. It seems that Leo Luo did better with historical drama than modern one. I give it a 5.0 rating.

The chemistic and storyline

Because I like the FL I waited for a drama for the first time and because I liked the description of the drama. Even if I had the feeling that it was going to be a sad ending. I think it is worth the long wait after the first 4 episodes. I know many people think it is boring ( it is okay to think it is boring bc everyone has a different opinion ) but I am going to ignore what they are saying and finish this drama no matter what happens.👍

I hope nobody is going to hate me bc I am not good at writing reviews. 😂
