The FL will be known by everyone soon!

Derailment has a very compelling premise and a pretty good twist so I was entertain and engaged throughout the whole series despite some lows for the show as a whole.
1) The actress playing the FL is INCREDIBLE. She will be well known soon and I will watch everything she is in moving forward. She is incredibly talented and a big part of why I stayed engaged with the story the whole time. I recommend watching just for her performance.
2) Speaking of acting I don't know if the actor playing the ML was the best choice. I've seen him in other romances and never had a problem with his performance but I don't think he pulled off the smooth and collected guy-in-charge part of the role. In the moments of warmth, kindness, and caring with our FL he did great and I think his previous experience translated to that part of the role.
3) The main sci-fi and mystery element got a little overshadowed by the FL's day to day in the later part of the show which I think displeased viewers who were mainly there for that. I however, like seeing these parts of the FL's character because it was the first time we get to see her happy with her life. However, it did feel like they rushed back to the main storyline for the last episode.
4) Romance is a part of the story but it's not a major component and there's not much lovey doveyness to the romance so if you want to watch it for the feels I'd pass.
Overall, I liked the show the whole time I watched it; I was never bored and don't regret watching it. Although, I doubt I'd watch it again. So if it seems interesting to you, I'd recommend trying it. It's definitely not a hard pass but it's not something I want everyone I know to watch.

Actually, I had seen the trailer before when I still liked to stalk Lin Yi. When I saw the trailer, it seemed interesting even though I didn't really understand what it meant, and Liu Hao Cun was also very beautiful, MasyaAllah (the beginning of my being a fan of Ms. Hao Cun). But I watched the drama a while after it ended, I think when Lin Yi's other dramas had already aired (Angels Fall Sometimes & Everyone Loves Me). It turns out the drama is good even though I think the plot is a bit heavy, and I also stopped in the middle of an episode, but it turned out to be fun, especially as the ending approached, their chemistry became stronger, so I liked it.

First half is great, the second half falls short

The best part about this drama it that it constantly keeps you guessing. Just when you think that you have you figured out, it changed lanes and the transition was very smooth. Things went good till ep 18-19, after that the drama was just kinda of okay. The thrill was lost.

The chemistry between the ML and FL was quite good so in the later episodes i just skipped to their parts till the end. It could be because this was an ongoing drama and I watched some other drams in between, but the second half just wasn't interesting enough in my books.

The time travel and dimensions was much more interesting than memory loss angle we got. That's where things went wrong for this drama.

But i would definitely rewatch it at least once, maybe then it would be better. I just want to give it one more try to convince me that the second half was not a waste of time.

Wandering off-roads can get you to beautiful places

I never expected to love a drama averaged below 8 the way I did. Is it an objectively great drama? Certainly not. But I loved it.
The first episode took me days to finish. And then I binged the next 6 eps as if there was no tomorrow. I only didn't finish it in a week because taking the time to binge at least three eps at once isn't something I can easily afford anymore. But once I started, I couldn't stop.

Many reviews state that this drama derailed from its main plot for a concerning amount of episodes. But I wasn't in it for the main plot anyways, so I loved the derailment. 😁

- The relationships-
The mains' chemistry was so damn good. I wasn't sure if I liked ML's acting, but considering his character is rather reserved, he hit it so well and convinced me during later scenes. FL as an actress was heatedly debated last year with her role in Be Passionately in Love as she doesn't do kisses, but it was perfect the way it was. They went all out on every other way of showing affection the more the relationship progressed. I love when dramas display romantic relationships that don't need burning passion and physical intimacy yet still can be heartfelt.
Everyone apart from the mains was a side character at best, but they played their parts throughout the story and their dynamics with the mains changed over time which means none of them felt like a mere plot device.

- The plot -
The pacing was uneven, the ending not bad but certainly not good either. The whole concept behind the series' mystery started with few hints but was rather predictable as the episodes progressed. The tightly knit strings ended up loosely wrapped together with plotholes the size of one's head. BUT apart from one stupid arc , they included none of the tropes I absolutely despise. The plot was thrilling enough for me to want to find out how it ends. So despite its flaws, it's a win for me.

- The visuals -
Yes, I'm super superficial and my character sucks, but they had so many amazing landscape shots in every episodes, all the buildings outside and inside looked so clean and neat and decluttered.
That certainly helped keeping the focus where it should be, which obviously was the relationship development and mystery plot and not the mains' faces at all.

- The music -
Yeah, this was another example of "we bought five tunes for a 24h drama and we will be playing it the whole time until the viewers will never forget it ever" but the music was actually nice, especially in terms of lyrics, so I forgive them. *adds to playlist

-Final thoughts -
This drama is best to watch when you go in with absolutely no expectations of anything. Don't care about the mains or the mystery plot or the scifi, just roll with it as it changes genres the way others change their socks. But if you want a romance burning with passion and flowers or a mystery that has you on the edge of your seat, it might be time for you to derail from this drama to watch something different.
This is one of the dramas that highly depend on taste and guilty pleasures and I won't blame you if you didn't like it as much as I did. Objectively speaking, this could be a 7 at best, but I loved it, so for me it's a 9 and hence the best drama I finished this year so far.

full of suspense, gd+int plot

I'm usually a fan of time-travelling/parallel dimension plots. So far, this drama is quite good, the suspense builds up and keeps me entertained and looking forward to the next ep. I have not read the novel so I have no idea what's happening next. This drama seems to have a great cast, good acting esp from the lead actress considering her first time starring in a TV drama. From the perspective of someone that watched all 13 eps, I can guarantee that the next few would be the highlights of how JXY would be closer to her motive of going back to her origin world (2025). I have this feeling that if she meets Huo Boyu in the 2018 world (he time travelled), she might be able to go back to her origin world since huo boyu is on a mission to bring her back, suggesting that he KNOWS how to get back. (keep in mind this is my own theory so im not too sure if this would happen).

Never thought this one will be 10/10

I came across this drama on YouTube shorts and decided to give it a try. It's not for everyone; you really need to pay attention to understand everything, or you'll get lost. Initially, I was lost too, but after watching it four times, I fell in love with it. The acting is excellent, and as a big music fan, I was delighted by the beautiful OSTs. Surprisingly, it's one of the few dramas that I've rated 10/10 in my two years of drama-watching. If you enjoy slow-burn romance with a deep emotional connection and a simple yet intricate plot, this drama is definitely worth checking out.
