Karma is a bitch

Ms Lin is still being a jerk at work. She has also discovered her game addict husband has emptied their bank account and handed 500k to his parents. She is jealous that Sha Sha has promoted her intern to Senior Budget Analyst and is going all in to topple Xu Chi’s new position. Ye the legend was found drunk by his car and Xu Chi drives him home. She ends up inadvertently spending the night, but manages to get her work done and clothes ready by work time. While she is admiring his posh settings, he warns her to not get enamored with the gilded worker cage. For their work he is rarely home and this was a rental from the business not a place of his choosing. Ms Lin takes photos of them because she wants to claim Xu Chi is having an affair with a married partner and that he was instrumental in getting the Bolo Culture account rather than Xu Chi’s hard work. Right when the boss was implying Xu Chi was making a mountain out of a mole hill, Xu Chi listed off all the things that had been happening under Ms Lin’s watch. She left nothing out and did not exaggerate or lighten the degree of neglect and mistreatment. Once she requested cctv footage of her desk area Ms Lin finally gave up. If she would have invested ANY of that energy into mentoring and work, she would have been proudly taking her intern to a celebratory dinner and ready to handle the Bolo Culture account as the hand picked team chosen to assist them. 😝🙄 Now she gets to watch her work nemesis and intern take places in the team that should have been hers. They didn’t steal anything from her. She made it a specific point to leave Xu Chi flapping in the breeze with no assist and she rose to the occasion and got the client on her lonesome. 👏🏻 For the positives of this episode … Xu Chi and Bu Tian Na encouraging and congratulating each other on their job efforts. These two are competitive, but not to the point of treading on each other to get ahead. They can be friends and colleagues…something Ms Lin has forgotten. 😝🙄Ye Xin Zhi was less the legend and more the mere human this episode. He still guides Xu Chi as a good mentor when he wakes up sober. I don’t really need a romance between these two. This friendship and respect for each other is at a good starting point. He has always recognized her potential, but always left it to her to decide if she would pursue her goals on her own merit or not. So far, she’s stepped up nicely. He has helped her bypass many early mistakes he had made and she recognizes and appreciates that advice and guidance. I think he would have grinned at her denying herself the easy walkthrough to get the new client and figuring it out on her own.
