Short & Simple but Funny & Cute Drama

One has to remember; this is a web drama. It's only a 5-7 min per episode so you can't really expect much on a very short series. If you want to watch something with more involving around the plot or gives you something more then watch a drama that has at least 45 mins in each episode.

That being said, I enjoyed this series. It does involve messing with time or in this case a time loop but for me personally, this writer wrote it pretty well. It's almost to the level of my favorite time loop drama Reset. It presented with a problem and then through each episode our leads try to figure out how to get out of this time loop. I think it's pretty sweet when the reasoning is revealed on why the time loop occurred.

Lots of funny moments with cute and jealousy scenes. The ML's character is so prideful and bigheaded. lol. He thinks that he's handsome (I mean he's not wrong), and everyone loves him (he's wrong here LOL), which is so funny to me. The FL's character is just funny & adorable overall. She's almost like the brains to this, as it starts with her being stuck in this loop as she tries to figure things out.

There wasn't a lot of music in this, mostly just background music to certain scenes so this drama does lose some points for that based on this rating

Besides that, if you're looking for something to watch but don't have much time to watch a full 45min-1hour episode, I definitely recommend this drama. It's short and simple and gets to the point because of that. Definitely a rewatch for me.

Cute leads and funny banter.

First off, I love the ML. I can’t believe he’s so young! Every time he smiles, my heart melts. His dimples are simply swoon worthy.

The chemistry between the two leads is great and the “thoughts” that are revealed to the audience adds to the hilarity of each episode.

It’s a mini romantic comedy with a pinch of mystery to add to the plot. If you are having seconds thoughts-erase them and give it a shot! You won’t regret it!!

Though I’m not done with the series, I would definitely rewatch it simply for the interactions and banter between the main leads.

I liked this one!

I am not one for time-loop or similar dramas, but this one had me hooked from the beginning to the end! I could not wait for Tencent to up load them! They were not fast enough.

Storyline - kind of, in a way, remainders me of “What’s Up With Secretary Kim” at first. Over worked secretary tired of bossy boss man’s wants to resign, but with a time-loop twist. I really liked this one. Was well done for my taste. Like a said above, it kept my interest and I could not wait for them to be uploaded.

Acting/Cast - the NL had such a cute smile but that aside I think he did a great job along with the FL. They did great. Loved both of them.

Rewatch - Yes! Added to my favorites.

Another day, another CEO romance mini-series

Or that’s what I thought when I started watching this office rom-com. But it’s actually quite a unique little gem!

Bai Jing works as a secretary for a high-strung, conceited, demanding CEO. She hates his guts and would do anything to quit her job. He, of course, is secretly in love with his secretary. Because he has the emotional capacity of a toddler in a sandbox, he thinks that tormenting her at work will somehow lead her to reciprocate.

It’s so cliche that it feels intentionally hammy, like the writers are winking at the audience in episode 1. Because just when ep 1 ends, we get to the real premise of the drama: Secretary Bai becomes trapped in a time loop. She’s doomed to relive the same day over and over again, until she can successfully quit her job and leave her boss. Or so she thinks.

There are more than a few twists and turns in the story, and just when the leads think they’ve figured out what’s going on, they’re thrown for a new loop (pun intended). At first, since the FL is trying to quit and the ML is trying to keep her at all costs, so they are antagonists. Then as the circumstances of the time loop change, so does their relationship, and they start working together against the problem.

The romance therefore felt naturally developed, at least on the part of the FL. I was rooting for them eventually. There’s a dash of mystery involved as well which keeps the non-romance bits interesting.

For such a young actor (he was 20 when this was filmed!), Wang Zi Hao does a great job. He really takes to the role of the cliche CEO, who’s both self-obsessed and FL-obsessed. It was fun to watch him lose his mind trying to keep his secretary’s attention via pigtail-pulling. Han Le Yao holds her own as well. Their physical chemistry was fantastic especially in the later episodes.

TROPES
- Boss/employee relationship
- workplace romance
- time loop
- one-sided crush
- ML falls first and chases first

Good drama to finish in 2hrs

So bored as I don't know what to watch, and this drama popped out in my YouTube recommendation. At first, I'm confused why it was 2 hrs, but it's a combined video in one.
The drama was not bad. I like the girl. She's so cute and honestly, both of them are a good match. Still shocked how the male is only 20 yrs old. Like look how tall he is... And the female is 28yrs old. I like the drama overall, I just wish THE KISSING SCENE WAS more of a kissing scene.
Like close your mouth or like make them touch more.... Please and thank you.
I like how they went straight to the point.
Nice and simple to drama to watch if you have nothing to watch. Lol.

"I am the chosen one!"

I have to admit to having surrendered to chinese dramas! I never wanted to but these short dramas managed to put their claws into me and now I cannot break free. Especially when I just watched this cute gem of a mini drama!

I Want To Resign Every Day is a perfect blend of two K dramas: What's Wrong With Secretary Kim and A Good Day To Die. The first one for the relationship between the self centered high maintenance boss and his long suffering and highly competent secretary while the second one offers the original take on groundhog day time loop and the comedy stemming from it.

This one is a high production value drama, well filmed and written. The plot moved on swiftly without any wrong points or plotholes. The solution was perfectly executed. The actors were amazing: they looked like the carbon copies of WWWSK cast though the ML was so much better: and that single dimple is to die for. (I am shallow, sue me!)

The writers managed to create a smooth flowing story where the two main characters grow and change faced with the challenges of the time loop. It was so nice to see the ML going from a jerk(hence the title!) to a human being and the FL admitting that he had a nice side as well beside being a jerk! Everything was nicely wrapped into a layer of not too cringy comedy.

If somebody recommended this to me as a movie, I probably would not have accepted to watch as I'd be scared of limited time and the lack of character and story develpment. But this is actually a movie. The producers did a great job editing all the episodes together so much so that the transitions from one episode to the next are invisible!

This is a great watch if you have a little time and need a palate cleansing after a heavy or a boring drama. (I had just finished Sherlock: The Untold Stories which was boring unfortunately and this is the right cure!)

Good chemistry and interesting plot, but overall nothing special

Quick and easy, finished this in less than 3 hours. It's just your run-of-the-mill low budget web drama. Nothing sticks out like a sore thumb, nor is it anything special amongst a sea of very similar dramas. The time loop plot is quite interesting and I do like the execution of it. But the mystery/thriller part feels very out-of-place.

The leads have good chemistry and they look good together. ML is handsome and quite young (21 years old). He reminds me of a younger and less chiseled Dai Gao Zheng, though we didn't see his abs. FL is a very experienced actress and has appeared in many dramas. The acting is decent, and nothing is too cringey.

However, it has the usual things that I don't like in a Chinese drama - accidental falls/kiss/tripping in slow motion & poorly dubbed voices. The kisses are disappointing. I was really expecting more because censorship is usually a little more relaxed for these short web dramas. At least the male lead is not drowned in white foundation and white filter. He actually appears normal and good-looking.

Overall, it's OK. I can't really rate this as if it's a high budget production. A 7.0 seems about right.

The pettiness is delicious

I actually came across the omnibus version of this randomly on YouTube, a total 2hr 40mins+. It was time well spent.

I won't go into the nuts and bolts of the story but it involves time loops a la Groundhog Day and a mystery to be solved.

The ML is perfect in his role of narcissistic, self involved, annoying boss and the FL does justice to her role of long serving and overworked assistant. There are many times I felt like yeeting my phone through the screen at the boss.

The two were hilarious in their interactions and made the run of the mill story fun.

If you like What's Wrong with Secretary Kim or similar stories this will be right up your alley.

I'll definitely give this one a rewatch down the road, especially for the pettiness.

Just a short, fun little ride

Honestly, I just came in with no expectations, I knew it was a short little web series so I know this was not going to be a seriously good drama or anything. I just wanted something short, quick, and cute and that's what I got. The acting and the plot could be a bit silly at times but if you just want something that is a very easy watch that moves a bit quickly, this is the drama for you. I don't have anything else to really say. A time loop drama in this short little format was very interesting so it kept my interests piqued and it resolved quickly enough that I was satisfied. Our ML and FL had enough chemistry to keep things cute and entertaining as well.

Rom-com meets Groundhog Day. It’s like déjà vu, but make it adorable

Despite its lackluster ratings, I quite enjoyed this drama. It’s reminiscent of “Business Proposal,” or WWWSK, but throw in a time loop and you have SBWTRE. I know it’s cliché and predictable, but watching the characters creatively and ridiculously escape the time warp each reset is genuinely fun. For a short web drama, do not expect that they bring out the big guns. Recognizing its resource, budget, and time constraints, this drama smartly avoids overstuffed plots, a frequent downfall of similar short dramas.

What I like about this drama is its simplicity, and how it does not take itself so seriously. The banter between the leads shows their natural chemistry. It’s a very bingeable, bite-sized drama that tickles the funny bone and might make you say “Awwww.”

Cute Web Drama

This is my 2nd Web Drama, although it is 21 episodes long - longer than the first web drama I watched - but it is still quite interesting and refreshing. The 2 male and female lead actors are really cute together. From what I have read, the male lead is relatively new - not much under his belt, but he did a good job (in my personal opinion) for this web drama. Lesser "drama" compared to the normal series, but if you want to just catch something short and sweet, I would say this would be a good one to watch.

Bai Jing Wants to Resign, but the Day Keeps Replaying

It's another cold CEO and poor, overworked secretary drama done in six-minute increments. It's amazing how many tropes can fit in those few minutes!

The Good:
• I enjoyed the scene of the ML and FL squatting behind a counter to spy on the other employees and nonchalantly replying they were just watching the workers when they were discovered. Not the least bit odd or suspicious!
• The leads were attractive and watchable.
• The title drew me in. Been there, done that!
• The time loop didn't become overly boring and repetitive. Kudos to the writer for that.
• I love it when a drama ends well, and this one had me smiling. Hands down, the best part. Note to self: be careful in a time loop, because you never know when it's going to end.

The Bad:
• Music was underwhelming and, in many scenes, missing.
• The budget was obviously small. FL spent 1/3 of the drama wearing the same pair of pink striped pajamas. Even when she spent the night with her parents, the ML had to borrow clothes from her father, but the FL's pink pjs were magically there, even though she hadn't taken luggage. She must always wear them under her clothes.
• The evil opposing CEO certainly gave up easily. I guess murder was just a whim with him, and he could take it or leave it.
• FL's ring tone drove me crazy. It's a good thing this was a mini series. I wouldn't have survived listening to that for 40 episodes.

I added a half star for the aftermath of the loop ending.
