Woah. WOW
This drama was just sensational! It was soooo good. The story was just 💯. So this drama is about two people that are childhood sweethearts but have a tragic and unfair breakup, and it's just about them finding their way back..home. It's also about how different people dealt with a tragedy that happened and how that affected people around them, I'm trying my best to not give away spoilers. But this drama was absolutely amazing. Frickin brilliant! It's basically about a forbidden love that is incredibly beautiful and so strong. The plot is sooo good. I can't explain HOW GOOD it is it's That good. And the music was mMmMMmM SO Cool!!! Ahh This drama was soo perfect! And to top it all off the acting of the cast was INCREDIBLE, I LOVED THEM. They've done a Really good job, Oh I loved watching the cast on screen sooo much. Every single member on screen was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Overall, This is a REALLY DAMN good drama about a melancholic forbidden love and a tragedy. Basically Absolutely beautiful story and plot. 📷🖼👩💼💞🧑💼🌦🗺Was this review helpful to you?

A Refreshing Gem: "Welcome to Samdalri" is a Comforting K-Drama
I'm compelled to share my thoughts on this delightful drama, which has left a lasting impression on me. "Welcome to Samdalri" is a true gem that has captured my heart with its gentle, refreshing story and lovable characters.
As someone who tends to avoid heavy dramas and frustrating villains, I was thrilled to find that this show exceeded my expectations in every way. The female lead shines brightest, with a growth arc that's both inspiring and relatable. I was particularly impressed by the way the community rallied around her, offering support and encouragement on her journey.
The small town setting is also noteworthy, with its picturesque scenery and warm atmosphere that feels like a cozy hug. It's no wonder that this drama has become a comfort watch for many fans.
What struck me most, however, was the drama's ability to soothe my frazzled nerves after watching another intense K-drama, "Queen of Tears". This show was the perfect antidote to the stress and angst I had accumulated, and I found myself fully immersed in its gentle charm.
If you're looking for a lighthearted, feel-good K-drama that will leave you feeling uplifted and comforted, look no further than "Welcome to Samdalri".

Sweet & Heartwarming
Simple, sweet story of friendship, love, motherhood & second chances.Cho Yong Pil is a weather forecaster. He is crazy, short-tempered, knucklehead, and loves his city.
Cho Sam Dal is a successful photographer. She is badass, smart, brave, crazy, temperamental, but hates her hometown. She shows herself strong, but she also needs someone to lean on.
Cho Yong Pil & Sam Dal were best friends from childhood, but for some reason, they brokeup. I loved their first meeting, it was hilarious. They were fighting over pants lace.
The way Cho Yong Pil thought Cho Sam Dal as a thief & his friends coming to catch the thief.
I laughed my ass off when Cho Yong Pil came to save Cho Sam Dal, but he fell into the water. After being saved by Cho Sam Dal, he was so embarrassed that he wouldn’t look at her & in the end, she did the same thing which he did in their first meeting.
Whenever Cho Sam Dal is drunk she would fall down & the boys would hurry to hold them.
Poor Yong Pil & his knees
The happy dance Cho Yong Pil gave when he got to know that Sam also liked him
Loved how positive Cho Yong Pil was about Boo Sang Do having feelings for Sam Dal.
Sweet thing Cho Yong Pil does, like tying Sam Dal shoelace in any kind of situation.
Loved the haenyeo fight between the two towns.
Bang Eun Joo deserves all of it. What Sam Dal mother did was right. Cho Sam Dal should've sued her if I were in her place, I would've sued her for lying. Because of these kinds of false accusations, many celebrities' careers are over.
Loved how everyone in Samdal ri helped Sam Dal with her exhibition
Laughed so hard Cho Sam Dal parents seeing her & Chong sleeping together.
Loved Cho Hae Dal & Cha Ha Yoo relationship. Cha Ha Yoo is more maturer than her age. Always worried about her mother.

Dramatic but not dramatic
Welcome to Samdalri is Ji Changwook's drama that I watched again after only managing to finish his drama entitled The K2.This drama doesn't seem to be very popular internationally compared to other dramas that also air in the same slot. This drama has a vibe like a mixture of the dramas Hi Bye Mama, When the Camellia Blooms, and Hometown Cha-cha-cha with conflicts that are much lighter than those three dramas.
All the characters in this drama are interesting and have their own characteristics. My favorite character is Cha Ha-Yul, the daughter of Cho Hae-dal, namely Sam-Dal's younger sister.
In my opinion, the plot of this drama cannot be called slow, because actually every episode always reviews and resolves problems, so every episode is worth watching or even needs to be watched to better understand the plot.
It is true that perhaps the nature of this drama which tends to be relaxed and not dramatic might make us a little bored, but in my opinion, this is not something that can reduce the point of this drama.
I like the development of each character which doesn't develop significantly, but looks like it will continue to develop in the future.
This drama is like a comfort zone when you don't want to think about very complicated things, theories, and secrets.
I also like the resolution of Bang Eun-Ju's conflict which is not made dramatic. This drama from the start always focused everything on Sam-dal's character, they didn't want the audience's focus to run to Bang Eun-ju when she finally got her karma.
Actually, this drama has many messages that can be taken away. But I don't think I need to explain it because everyone has their own perception.
In terms of flow, I think it's pretty good, but not so great that I can rate it more than 8.5. But this drama is really enjoyable and I always look forward to it every week. This drama feels like a friend, watching it makes us feel calm and comfortable.
I really appreciate all the actresses and actors who play in this drama, after a long time I finally really saw a drama where all the actors acted very well, especially the Hanyeo ladies who always entertained every scene they appeared in. Maybe because in this drama there are not many newcomer actors, and newcomer actors such as Cha Ha-yul and Gong Ji-chan also play very well. This drama also attracts the idol, Kang Mina. But Kang Mina's acting is one of the idols with good acting, so it doesn't matter what her real profession is, in this drama Kang Mi-na is Cho Hae-dal.
This drama doesn't seem like an interesting drama to rewatch because the conflict is simple but relatable. I think it will take a while to remember the plot of this drama because it is packaged in the easiest way to digest.
Apart from that, this drama is a good drama and I highly recommend it to be watched with friends, family, and all your favorite people.

Very cute romance with the perfect hints of comedy.
This drama was lovely, although the first few episodes were a bit frustrating. I enjoyed how the show progressed and how the chemistry between the characters developed. Furthermore, the fact that it was set on Jeju island also makes it an incredibly pleasant watch with stunning scenery. it creates a very tranquil setting despite the hectic plot. Overall, I would say this drama is my new comfort drama. It makes the viewer feel relaxed and can bring a smile to anyone's face. Was this review helpful to you?

pretty lacking but still a somewhat worthwhile watch
HII so after rejecting watching this show after however long this has been on netflix for i finally did full binge LOL here are my thoughts i'm not into long lengthy well worded essay reviews so here are some pros and conscons:
- there was no plot. like im realizing now it was just the first ep's happenings and then just the general aftermath/effects of that. i wish samdal's worklife was explored more throughout the show and not just at the end for a bit again cuz i LOVEEE her as her cool boss self lol
- imo, the main leads' romance was stressful and straining. messy, less communicated breakups, unrequited love, decade long "soulmate" type crushes, parent disapproval, these all are just... a lot and have a lot of plot holes and me personally i actually didn't like or care for their relationship. i actually liked everything else abt the show
- and what made it worse was this romance was majority of the plot idk i hated it
- other lead couples were much more enjoyable. i wish the youngest sister's relationship wasn't just a bunch of extra little scenes and an actual plotline. i also wish jindal's ex husband situation was made a bit more serious at the end just so it could wrap up well
- the antagonist should've been more present throughout the plot. there was no change in personality, no development. she was very one dimensional and tbh samdal was a very flawed person at the start and so i think the writers could've come up with a way of creating an antagonist that had some reason because of the fl to become the way she did. the ex bf was just stupid too
- idk how to explain this other than based on my previous points, esp the last 2, the show was almost too focused on samdal. she was way too main character syndrome. sometimes this is fun when the plot is actually good but it didn't work here
- this isn't an issue w the show but also why i didn't enjoy it as much and why i took forever to watch this was casting. nothing wrong w ljw i just don't think he's an actor i enjoy in dramas. idk just not within my preference. i never seem to care for any of his roles. love hyesun tho
pros:
- i like samdal's personality she's very raw aka like a good mix of cool and confident but also became very open ab her emotions
- the mija sisters episode was the best part
- loved her development as a photographer
- glad she went back to seoul lol i stopped caring for the small town vibes
- idk but overall enjoyed this more than i thought. it is very flawed but i almost can't believe i have sm negative to say cuz it was still a very good watch

The beginning of this drama was a little rough and it was hard for me to get into. It wasn’t until around episode 11 that I felt the show hooked me, which is way too long. This show is often recommended as a comp to Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and since that’s one of my favorite dramas, I was very excited to try this one, but it does not have much in common with HCCC except its seaside location. The scandal that ruined Sam-dal’s career felt a little weak and didn’t seem like something that would make that big of an impact or attract that much media attention. The girl that orchestrated it all was infuriating to watch and it was so easy to root for her downfall.
Everyone in this show was an alcoholic. Characters get drunk in dramas all the time, but this was on another level. Sam-dal and her sisters did nothing but pound beer and black out. It was pretty annoying to watch. Both of her sisters were really compelling characters with great romances, but it didn’t seem like they got enough time to explore their backstories or romances in depth, so it ended up feeling like a bit of a letdown.
Yong-pil was really the highlight of the show. Ji Chang-Wook is great at romance and he played this super endearing and sweet male lead so well. I found the relationship timeline to be a little confusing, but I was rooting for them to get back together. He and Sam-dal had the cutest relationship. It felt a little hard to understand why they weren’t together. The character ages made it less believable because they were in their late thirties and it just doesn’t seem like his dad’s approval would be something that could keep them apart. The dad was truly such a terrible man, the true villain of the show, and he did not deserve a redemption arc.
There is some great family dynamics, romance, and an exploration of finding yourself after getting knocked down real hard that all worked so well in this show. I think if this show had been shorter, it would have worked better, but I still think it was worth a watch overall.

Worth watching, yet do not expect too much.
It could have been very good if the writer would have dare to be less exaggerating with the R+J type story. Additionally, 20 and 8 seem to be randomly chosen numbers, a bit of thinking or of life experience would have been beneficial. I wonder if nobody reads critically the script? Yet he actors are great and the OST memorable. In short: it is worth watching, but do not expect too much of it.Was this review helpful to you?
Okay okay
This drama is an average one. Childhood sweethearts broke up and again reunited. FL is stiff. ML is too kind. Overall okayish. The best thing is the life that hyena live.i loved it. How they dive and all. Supporting characters are more interesting than the Main leads. Specially her sisters. I loved her mother's acting she is so good. Was this review helpful to you?

An uninspiring,dull, piece of boredom
I don't usually write Reviews about dramas but for some reason I feel compelled to do so for this one,I will not write a long review, trying to rate every aspect of it, but I will Simply state my opinion about it,
Initially I came to watch this drama after watching Hometown Cha Cha Cha, because both of these dramas have similar setting, A small town, FL Moves from the exciting big city to the small town, ML without any drive or ambition, and of course some sprinkle of trauma here and there,
Another that makes them similar is thier supporting cast, you know some old people, some children and they all seem like best friends with each other,
Which I find extremely annoying and cringy,
So I thought If I liked a drama with all these things then it's possible I'll like another drame with all these things, Turns out that's not how it works
I watched about 9 episodes of this drama and In the beginning I was liking it, but not as a romance melodrama, they introduced a successful character who worked so hard to get where she is and then she's brutally cheated out of her deserving position and what does she do? Absolutely nothing.
Every time she just accept her situation and do nothing I keep asking myself why don't she fight back, she had evidence of her cheating with the boyfriend and also evidence for stealing, she do many things in that situation but what she did was go back to the hometown and play romance with the guy she knew for past 38 years, does it make sense? I don't think so,
And speaking of ML, what's with these dull, boring, ambition less and drive less guys in these dramas, they have no life, no hobbies, and all their live revolve around FL, She's been his female friend for 30 years and then they date for some time and now she's his ex for 8 years, like come on dude, you've known only one girl your whole life, what about other 4 billion women in the world, and not only that there is another 2nd guy in love with her for past 30 years or something, You know sometimes it becomes so annoying when dramas do this, Imagine if she didn't had that scripted misfortune and didn't lost everything, what was their plan then, are they gonna spend their whole lives with status quo,
And the whole romance plot, I couldn't feel it, it felt forced and fake, The same thought keep coming to my mind whenever main leads were together, that why are they together, why is she wasting her time with this useless guy who can't bring any value to the table, at this time she should be fighting for what she lost, not having this boring romance with some country bumpkin
Anyway I can rant a bit more but I feel like this is enough for someone who didn't finished the drama overall I'll give it a score of 7.5 and it's possible that in different mood or setting I may like this drama but I feel really fatigued after watching bunch of the same kind of dramas over and over again
