chinese game developer drama...
I should say that chinese romcom drama nowadays is defeinitely solid. Everyone Loves Me starts off very playful and light, and I was endeared by the female lead right away. The male lead, not so much. But once the role switched, I became obsessed right away. This is my first time watching the leads' acting, and they are pretty convincing. Was this review helpful to you?
No Depth
The story has no depth. It ultimately fsiled in this sense. Unfortunately the writer failed to keep the story interesting.Other than good appearances you get nothing else. It was too shallow, boring and quite frankly a waste of time.
I had high expectations at first but it never moved me later on.

Wish i have dropped it earlier
This drama only has 24 episode that's why i keep watching it, but it never got better in any way... Wasted my time totally.Till the end i am waiting for some good romantic moments but they did not give any of this... Li ni is one of the best kisser in China but this time there is nothing special.
Office work is more than boring, this is the main reason the story kept dragging .
Wish they can work together but with a good script not like this trash.

I can see why everyone would love this
This is a sweet, fluffy, easy watch that offers so many miss-understandings it becomes ridiculous yet stays oddly entertaining. If you are looking fo r any kind of substance, realism or I don't know healthy relationships... This is not the place to find it but if you can overlook a bunch of stuff and can enjoy predictability, cliches, misunderstandings and bickering this is a really good place to find it.While the misunderstandings are never ending, and here seem to be a few attempts of including depth as well as a lot of, lets show the world that China can create... with its own culture... You know the usual patriotic stuff us c-fluff viewers have learned to ignore most of the drama is a easy watch and a display of people playing with gender roles, double standards and damsel in distress vs. volgar bad ass like it was 1995... Making me feel all nostalgic inside.
Our male lead is another guy who at times lacks communication skills, and indeed can get a bit macho over protective at times while being the type that can appreciate having smart active women around him... which is kind of nice. He is also portrayed by Lin Yi with all Lin Yi has to offer so for all those who can appreciate Lin Yi this is not a bad place to watch him.
The female lead has more mood swings than number of clicks a on a keyboard in a gaming tournament. And while her characters action should lead to a bunch of second hand embarrassment, she did not really get on my nerves even once (wich is really rare),
The side couples and side characters (including the parents) are lovely too (most of the time).
All in all making this an entertaining watch... Or at least the first 19 episodes or so, the attempts of plot and depth towards the end where kind of meeh...

Probably one of the cutest and best watch of the year (ever??) so far
This was so cute. SO SO SO SO SOSOSOSOSOSSOSO CUTTEEEEEEEE. Genuinely so effing cute. For starters, I 100% agree with the people who say there should have been romance. ZhouYe and LinYi are actually so cute together in this I wish there were more scenes.
But besides the lack of romance, I genuinely have NO complaints about this. The slow burn was so good. The writing and plot was emaculate. I love me a good strong female lead who is witty and funny and not afraid to be bold. YQL might be one of my favorite female characters to date. At the same time, GX is SUCH A GREEN FLAG (minus the very public rejection but hey what's a plot without character development??? my man was heartbroken and pissed let him live). I loved that she made him work for their relationship.
It is very video game heavy but honestly, I loved it. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it and looked forward to watching this. This gave me hope in cdrama romance again because after the atrocity of hidden love??? I could not believe the giant fanbase it had. This needs that hype. In love with ZhouYe and also in love with LinYi now.

LOVVVEEEDDD IIIITTTTT!!!
This is the second best drama of Linyi i feel other than put your head on my shoulder. Idk why a lot of people dislike this drama because I don't find anything to dislike about it. The ML fell for the female lead after she confessed that she was dough twist because he understood that she changed her personality because of him. He did not start to like her after knowing that she's dough twist, he used to like her personality and when he got to know that she has always been like that, he fell for her even more. Also, the FL gave a tough time to the ML because she got rejected in front of almost all of her classmates so, obviously, any person with their sane mind would react like the FL did.
I think this drama is extremely good and WAYYY BETTER than some of the other gaming related dramas I've watched, I watched Falling into your smile, Love 020, Go Go Squid etc, but I didn't like them this much.
I wouldn't list the positives and negatives because I loved everything about this drama. It is an EXTREMELY COMFORTING drama which you could watch after a whole day of hectic schedule, The OSTs are soothing and in my spotify playlist now... Thee acting is top-notch and I loved every part of the comic scenes.
There are second and third leads but they do not get extreme highlight so we don't get second lead syndrome too.
I actually also really liked the second couple although I was a little disappointed when they did not get enough screentime because they spent a lot of time in showing Junnan with his ex (which idk why they added her because it didn't make much sense and he did not even regret much of breaking up with her as it was completely his fault, she was very sweet.)
Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this drama and it's a must watch. If you LOVVVEEEE watching fluffy, romcom office romance and neighbor's trope. This drama is TOOOO SWEET and probably the CUTESSTT Chinese drama I've watched after Hidden Love and When I Fly Towards You, last year.

Watch it if you are a huge fan of the cast otherwise it can be ignored
It is a cute and fluffy love story between two people who have a love for making and playing games. The show starts good but becomes draggy with the entire "hard to please" trope being pulled first by the ML and then by FL. For more than half the show this push and pull continues, making it become quite boring and even making the FL's character look childish and annoying too.
The story isn't something new or out of the box and the strong point of the show is just its lead casts. If you are a fan of LY and ZY or are looking for some cute cliche love story drama then you may go for it otherwise you can ignore it as it doesn't bring anything new from what has been shown in C dramas a hundred times.

So much potential
I don't know about you, but I hated the ending. This drama is funny and cute, with the exception of the 2ndFL. It is not that she is outside the chinese drama beauty standards, but the fact her character became so far away from where she started off. As someone who is portrayed to have social anxiety, she did not seem to be like this towards the end, which is frustrating.
I am not sure why there were so many angst between the characters for silly situations, but the story between the ML and FL was very well developed. Which is why I hated the ending. I didn't understand why they wanted to trick the viewers to think they are getting married while packing the 囍糖 - Wedding candy, and decorating the office like a bridal shower. Then it was to celebrate the games' sales performance. I think it could have ended better with news articles suggesting it being the first 3A game ever to come out of China.
Also, I wish he was able to celebrate with his father's co-founders - I didnt understand why a super small cameo from the investor who was his father's co-founder. And also, his mother not even accepting that her son has achieved both his and his father's dream. Or at least indicating this outcome.
I did rewatch it for the romance, but the story line was not up to my standards.

A feel-good show with likeable leads ruined by bad editing
It was nice, definitely helped me to pass the time, nothing too cringey, capable main leads and I really liked the main actress Zhou Ye (my first drama with her). But as others mention, the editing is just...not ideal, details below.
Some things that stood out for me that were suddenly dropped from the plot even though they seemed important:
- the gaming aspect disappears completely in the second half (I know it's not an e-sport series, but it was the main hobby of both leads, it would be nice to see them gaming together more once they get closer in real life)
- I thought that it was a shame that the fact that the ML under his gaming alias gave the FL some bad advice how to charm her crush (aka himself in real life - which they didn't know) was never brought up again after she finds out his identity.
Sure, after the revelation she is angry with him for lying to her but her "fake persona" (aka the plot that takes the first 7 episodes!) is never mentioned again.
- in the first half of the show, the leads take care of a stray dog; I thought it sure will lead to them adopting him, but no, the dog disappears completely in the second half and is not even mentioned
- there is a bit random nearly last-minute addition of the ML's childhood trauma (his dad was game developer who didn't spend much time with his wife and son) and a conflict with his mother who is against him working in game developing (so he doesn't work too much and doesn't end up with a heart attack like his dad...which can happen to anyone in any job, but ok) - they never come to a complete understanding, the last scene with the ML and mom is when she walks out after a disagreement - and that's it, that's the last we see her!

A toxic train wreck, yet still somehow cute
The story is just awful… yet still cute enough that I kept watching. The first half is a horrible, toxic relationship mess with everyone lying about who they really are. (That part does get better.) Instead of trying it win her over, he focuses a lot of energy on manipulating and trying to intimidate anyone else who likes her. There’s a lot of high school type behavior. This show is a light watch, with a fair amount of cringe. But it is also kind of adorable. The plot isn’t complicated, so it doesn’t take a lot of energy to follow it. There are no real “bad guys” and no surprises in the story. It’s a good choice if you just want to relax and unwind without getting too invested in a story.
I did enjoy the in-game scenes and wish they had continued more of that through the show. The side characters were cute, though also not very well developed. Of course, Hong Yao is always delicious and I’d like to have seen more of him.
One thing that did annoy me a bit was that the male lead was attracted to the female lead because she was fierce. But as soon as they got together she turned very docile. It was an entire personality shift.
All in all.. I don’t regret watching it, it probably won’t watch it again.

Light and Fluffy - keep the remote handy to fast forward
Soap Opera - updated. Thank gawd it was over in 24 episodes.Chinese Drama/Rom Com so, you must have:
- Really bad acting with the intake any kind of alcohol.
- The lead female must be really annoying for at least the first six episodes.
- Most side character females are not allowed to use their brains. No company would ever hire the timid secretary who preferred costume design and put her near such an important project. HR would have never let her get past a first interview.
- There must be at least three characters that talk too much but, say very little.
- Parents were window dressing. A good thing. The ML's dad propelled the story but, only through flashbacks - it saved so much time. His mother could have phoned in her performance.
After a few episodes, you can fast forward through whole sections and not miss a thing. ML does a good job of trying to atone for being a complete jerk. FL doesn't give herself enough time to process how awful he was to her. Having the two of them spending almost 24 hours together would be rough on anyone - especially, when one hurts you to the core. They should have had FL go home to the parent's house for several days after the rejection. She wasn't involved in the main project yet and it would have made her a more stable/mature character. Calling in sick for a couple days plus a weekend would have been perfect.
There must have been some social media stuff about her and eating. The director spent too much time with full face close ups of her eating - looking at her phone - and talking - all at the same time - annoying and a little disgusting. You'll notice that you almost never see ML eat more than a few bites before scene ends.
Fashion - honestly, loved all of it. Usually, they have them wearing the oddest styles and designs that don't always compliment. But, this one got it right in all ways.
The environment - too clean...too perfect. China understands that they can train a planet to believe life is perfect - just like everywhere else - in China. No real life mentions of life and its strict controls. Houses are gorgeous. Nary a mention of cost of living. Food is always plentiful and crime is always easily solved with four minutes of watching someone. Propaganda.
Life in the bedsheets is similar to how Korea treats its BLs right now. Once you get past a kiss or, two - you see them fully clothed in bed wearing clean bright clothes. In this one - it is 1950 America - you don't see them in bed together past a hug.
ML is a great actor. I went back to the scenes where he realized his terrible mistake. Perfect. He handled everything from that moment on perfectly. I stuck with it for him - I hope he has a long successful career.

Nice light movie
This is my first drama of both FL and ML and i was wholly surprised by their performance.I was just trying my luck and randomly choose to watch this. Havent know anything about this series prior to watching, havent seen any trailer, just came across this reel in IG once. The plot is typical, nothing too elaborated or havent seen before but it’s light and well played, so i have no qualm about that. The FL’s acting caught my attention, she was quirky and the way she delivered her lines matched up with the savageness of her character and i was very well entertained. Lol. The FL grab my attention to keep watching even before the ML has the chance to (i grow to like the ML later). Cant believe this is Gu Xiang from WOH though. I just know it after coming here after finishing the series. Lol. She has the potential to be the next FL roles and I would like to see more of her. The ML has potential as well and the vibe he was giving can very well melt you as well (but still shows some innocence of first love. Lol). I love that even though theres heart breaks in between, the laugh scene can still be flawlessly inserted.
I like how they developed the second love story as well. Convincing, while not taking over the love story between the ML and FL. I just had some issue with Su Zheng as the ML contender, i feel like SZ’s character is not developed enough or been given screentime enough to be able to bring up a challenge to the ML.
The ost sounds nice as well. Though nothing that stuck with you long after.
