The swim against the current

This episode finally gives our little seal pup, Wan, a glimpse of the orca swimming beneath him. He arrived in this industry with no acting experience, bright eyes, and the survival instincts of a fish out of water. But innocence does not last long when everyone around you has an agenda. As he begins to understand the game, his naïveté becomes both his weakness and the reason we want to root for him. The writers clearly want us to watch this small fish swim against a very strong current…and swim he will. What I am enjoying most is the satire aimed at the Thai BL industry itself. Behind the fan service, polished smiles, and carefully managed pairings are young actors trying to catch their breath, only to be pushed underwater again by competition, expectations, and people with more power. In a brutally competitive BL world, there will be many Wans. And acting is no small thing. Try memorizing dialogue, remembering your marks, finding the emotion, and making it all look natural while a camera watches your every breath. I did plays in college, and trust me…once the nerves come, your brain can suddenly forget its own name. Wan is not simply learning how to act. He is learning how not to be eaten alive. Then there is Nine, who feels less like one person and more like a reflection of the many famous actors who have learned to survive by being beautiful, calculated, and impossible to read. Add the sharp-eyed transgender characters circling in the background…because this is a BL world after all, and they often see the sharks before everyone else does…and suddenly this series has far more teeth than I expected.

Love this!

This episode was really good! i like that right now and even after what nine did to wan, that we see wan Still hold nine on this "pedestal". its actually kind of scary knowing that some people actually hold idols and actors etc... on these pedestals and refuse to acknowledge that these people aren't always the way they allow us to perceive them. and in this nine is using that to his advantage. Near the end though you do kind of see after talking to his sister wan starts actually thinking about third and asking how he actually is as a person/ coworker. he was also avoiding him...lol i feel like third is in an especially hard spot with not wanting to be paired with nine anymore and wants to be seen as an actor for his own individual ability. along with the fact he has to deal with his and nine managers, company, mother.. kind of seems like he does like wan (not sure if its necessarily romantic yet) and is using wan to kind of antagonize(?) nine but not pushing it too far. (P.S. just tried to put my thoughts down in writing the best i can & I'm not sure if i made any sense or wrote it the best)

i get that Wan it too naïve & gullible,…

i get that Wan it too naïve & gullible, add to this his goofiness... get why this might rub some the wrong way & why they hating on him in the comment section - but if u take into consideration how clueless he is about acting, he is doing the best with the lot thrown at him. he isn't that bad IMO. even if he didn't have a rabid gang of b*tches trying to take him down, the people who r supposed to be neutral; like the director, acting coach, let alone his own manger - they all doing a sh*t job. they want to do the bear minimum & then look at Wan like he is the moron, that's slow on the uptake - sorry, but direct the freakin newbie, guide the actor & help him get into the scene, see what's preventing him from performing... but no, Third has to come along & help Wan?!? what if Third wasn't interested in Wan? then Wan & the likes of him, would get booted out of the industry cause they not worth the time? this such a gross POV of what goes on behind the scenes & it's infuriating that the viewer's r not seeing the bigger picture. Wan for sure not the main "bad guy" worthy of all this hate ********************************************************yeah Wan can be cringe at times, but he genuinely isn't the problem - if anything he is the victim of the circumstances & ironically all the other character's - the fact he got blinders on where Nine is concerned, is a sad reality he will have to wake up from, but given how things r unfolding - have a feeling it's gonna be a rude awakening. ********************************************even though there were signs in this ep that he noticed that not all is right with the world - yet when push came to shove, his knee jerk reaction to "fan boy" over came common sense - oh well, guess expecting miracle's in ep 4 is too much to ask ugh. ****btw i am still wondering WhyTF Renji didn't open his mouth?!? he saw exactly what Nine did & at any point he could've told Cher & Wan what he witnessed - that for sure would've helped in dragging off the rose colored glasses Wan got on, where Nine is concerned. not to mention Cher & Wut would have the amo needed to deal with Sunny, Pitch & the rest - cause what Nine did to Wan was wayyyyyyyy worse then what Wan did to Third. ugh am so freakin frustrated.

Sometimes the People Who Annoy Us the Most Are the Ones Who Truly Care

This series is such a powerful reminder about fake people and the people who genuinely care about us.Nine acts so nice and sweet toward Wan, but behind that kindness is a motive. He is pretending to be someone he is not, and underneath that friendly face is someone who is willing to hurt Wan.Then you have Third. He is completely different. He is straightforward, constantly arguing and bickering with Wan, and sometimes he can be annoying, but at least he is honest. Deep down, he is a genuinely good person who cares about Wan and will be there when it really matters. It reminds me so much of real life. Be careful of friends or even family members who constantly sweet-talk you, because nice words do not always mean genuine intentions. Sometimes the people who roast you, argue with you and annoy you the most are also the first ones standing beside you when your world falls apart. It even makes me think about my own mum. Sometimes I find her annoying because she talks too much, and there are times when she simply does not understand our generation. But deep down, I know that if I ever truly need her, she will always be there for me.So if you are lucky enough to still have your parents, please look after them and be patient with them. They might annoy us, lecture us and struggle to understand the way our generation thinks, but their love can be something we take for granted until it is too late. One day they will be gone, and no matter how much we wish we could hear their voice, their nagging or even their annoying lectures just one more time, we cannot bring them back. ❤️
