Better be ready for some blood
It's been a while since I watched a gangster fight K-drama. This one was pretty solid, with intense fight scenes and brutal gore. Half the time, blood was flying everywhere. What I really liked was how the betrayal was portrayed—it felt raw and impactful. But on the other hand, I found it funny that despite being in power for 11 years, the lackeys and lower subordinates didn’t even have guns at the beginning. And when assassination attempts happened, no one really had firearms. It was only near the end that some guns showed up—and even then, they were pretty useless.
Overall, I really enjoyed this drama. It stayed focused and on point the whole time. That final line hit hard: “Once you sit on the chair of power but can’t hold it, it all seems meaningless.” That one had real depth.

Action, action, action
If you are a fan action, visceral, bone crunching, artery spraying action, then this show is for you. It’s dark and gritty and the tension stays high, but the action is the highlight. It’s non-stop, beginning to end. The plot might not be original, but it is well done and So Ji Sub’s larger than life presence grounds the show and makes it all work. Huge kudos to the stunt team, choreographers, and action directors, they did brilliant work. And the cinematography is amazing! Absolutely gorgeous! This show was an amazing ride and I enjoyed every minute of it.Was this review helpful to you?

A Gripping Ride from Start to Finish – “Mercy to None” Will Leave You Breathless!
I just finished watching Mercy to None, and wow… I’m still recovering emotionally. This K-drama completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. From the first episode, it pulls you in with intense storytelling, a dark atmosphere, and characters that are anything but predictable. The lead actor absolutely nailed the role – his transformation from a quiet civil servant to a cold, calculated vigilante is chilling and heartbreaking at the same time. You can literally feel his pain and desperation in every scene. And the female lead? Don’t even get me started. She’s not your typical K-drama heroine; she’s fierce, flawed, and you can’t help but root for her even when she’s making morally gray choices.
The plot twists are insane. Just when you think you’ve figured something out, the show flips the script completely. There were moments I had to pause just to process what happened. And the cinematography? Chef’s kiss. The way they play with shadows and silence makes the whole series feel like a high-quality thriller movie.
I also appreciated how Mercy to None didn’t shy away from the darker sides of human nature. It’s not a feel-good drama, but it’s thought-provoking and brutally honest about justice, revenge, and redemption. The last two episodes had me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails and yelling at my screen.
If you like K-dramas that are gritty, suspenseful, and emotionally heavy with complex characters, Mercy to None is a must-watch. It’s not your typical love story – it’s a psychological ride that’ll stick with you long after the credits roll.
Rating: 9.5/10 – Not for the faint of heart, but absolutely unforgettable.

John Wick X Taken
I had to say it.. This drama is giving me major John Wick and Taken (Bryan Mills) vibes 💯I will find you and I will kill you..
You killed John Wick's dog.. that was John Wick's dog.. and then he beat his son for killing John Wick's dog and taking his car..
All of the action 💯
Everything is John Wick and Taken combined and I AM LOVING IT 👏🏻
It is high time we needed our own John Wick/Bryan Mills.. I hope they continue this because So Ju Sub is made for this type of role..
I am loving it so far.. and although I have compared it with 2 of the best movies and characters in Hollywood, still do not have skyrocketing expectations.. it is different in a lot of ways..
Also, the most aptly titled drama..
truly..
Mercy For None 💯😅🤌🏻

A Symphony of Vengeance and Virtuosity
Mercy for None is a gripping, blood-soaked tale that leans heavily on its powerhouse cast of veteran actors—and they truly deliver. Despite its graphic violence, the story shines through, driven by exceptional performances that bring depth and nuance to every character. The emotional portrayal by each actor was nothing short of remarkable, perfectly aligning with the demands of their roles. What stood out most was the narrative itself. It carried the essence of classic K-dramas that focused more on storytelling than just visual appeal. The plot dynamics were deeply engaging, reminiscent of the golden era of K-drama where substance often outweighed style.
That said, I personally found the detailed depiction of human killings too vivid and intense. While it served the story’s gritty tone, I believe some restraint could have been more effective. Still, the action sequences, cinematography, direction, and overall production—including the set design—were all executed with precision and purpose, heightening the mood and tension of the drama.
In fact, it felt more like a cinematic blockbuster than a conventional series. If anything, the seven-episode run seemed a bit rushed; a 10-episode format would have allowed the plot to breathe and develop more organically.
Korean creators continue to excel at revenge-driven narratives, and the webtoon writers behind these concepts are truly brilliant. Mercy for None is a testament to that synergy—an intense, well-crafted story that I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s an easy 9 out of 10 for me.

Came for youngwoo
Ngl i started watching this primarily to see youngwoo, youngwoo as a morally grey prosecutor? Yum yum. But honestly i really enjoyed it!Is it realistic? No, i mean how is one guy winning consistently against dozens of the countries best fighters despite being disabled and out of practice supposedly for 11 years... but does that matter? No! Its acted out amazingly, the scenes are all awsome. I will admit it was a little toooo bloody for my taste but thats the premise of the show, i knew from the get go itll be like that.
The acting was great overall and the cinematography too! Didnt feel like it dragged at any point.
I think there were a few moments where i sat and thought "does that acc make sense" but besides that i really enjoyed it!

Amazing story of revange and fulfillment
A brilliantly written and executed drama. The story was not stretched, with each episode containing significant events that contributed to the overall narrative. Each character is selected to play specific parts in the story—impeccable action scenes with a charismatic MC. I drama was brilliantly executed and flowed smoothly with no loose ends. I don't watch revenge and gang-based drama, but this one was just brilliant. binge-worthy drama. Was this review helpful to you?

This isn't revenge. It’s the long echo of everything that was stolen and never returned.
I didn’t expect Mercy for None to hit me the way it did. I went in thinking I’d get a gritty, stylish revenge drama — and sure, it is that. But somewhere between the first quiet shot and the last brutal frame, it became something else entirely. Something colder. Heavier. Closer to grief than glory. This story isn’t loud. It’s not trying to be clever or twisty or cool. It just unfolds, like a scar being slowly revealed. It starts with a death — a brother gone — and from that moment on, everything moves like it’s been dragged through mud and blood and regret. There’s no urgency to it, and that’s part of what made it feel so real. I wasn’t watching a man take revenge. I was watching someone mourn in the only language he had left: violence.
And the way it’s filmed — god, it’s cold. Not flashy-cold. Not neon-noir. Just... empty rooms, silent streets, scenes where it feels like the warmth’s been bled out of the world entirely. The cinematography doesn’t ask you to feel anything. It just leaves you there, in the middle of something that already fell apart.
What got under my skin wasn’t the violence. It was how quiet the pain was. How the show never asked me to sympathize or forgive or root for anyone. It just let the characters carry their damage, and either you saw it — or you didn’t. There were scenes where I caught myself holding my breath. Not because I was scared, but because I didn’t want to interrupt what was happening. Like I was intruding on something private.
There’s this moment — no spoilers, but it’s just a man sitting alone, holding a photo he doesn’t want to look at. Nothing happens. No music, no flashback. And somehow, that hit me harder than all the fight scenes combined. Because that’s what this show understands. That real grief doesn’t announce itself. It just sits with you, until you either pick it up or walk away.
I didn’t walk away. I stayed. And by the end, I felt... not broken, exactly. But like I’d seen something I wasn’t supposed to see. Something true.
It’s not perfect. There were moments where the story wandered, or where I felt the show leaning a little too hard on its own cool factor. But none of that really stuck with me. What did stick was the feeling. That quiet, unbearable ache of watching someone destroy everything around them — not because they want to, but because they don’t know what else to do with their pain.
Mercy for None didn’t just entertain me. It sat with me. In the quiet. In the dark. And it asked me to feel something I wasn’t sure I wanted to feel.
I did. And I won’t forget it.

Mercy for none
I absolutely loved this drama.
I’m not into romance-heavy shows where the female lead is chasing a guy, or where everyone is overly clingy and emotional for no reason. That’s just not my taste. Mercy for None was the complete opposite😊 and that’s exactly why it worked for me.
This drama was straight to the point.
You kill my brothers? I’ll kill you. No long speeches, no unnecessary hesitation, no fake morality. Just pure revenge.
The title says it all. There was truly no mercy. Everyone involved paid the price, and not lightly but in tenfold. Actions had consequences, and the drama never backed down from that. That’s the kind of storytelling I appreciate.
I loved how focused and intense it was. No distractions, no forced romance, just raw anger, pain, and payoff. Every episode delivered exactly what it promised.
If you’re tired of overly romantic dramas and want something dark, brutal, and satisfying, this is for you Habibi😎
For me? 10/10.
No regrets. No mercy. Highly recommended.

Brutal, Addictive, OP Lead—Must-Watch Revenge Thriller
Mercy for None is a ruthless, high-stakes thriller that grips you from start to finish. In just 7 episodes, it strikes the perfect balance—long enough to dive deep into the revenge-fueled chaos, yet sharp & concise, to never have a dull moment. The story is nothing new but the execution is downright addictive. This is the kind of drama that pulls you into its world, making you feel every raw, vengeful emotion alongside its characters!➥ Story Summary:
Nam Gi-jun, once a legendary gangster, walked away from violence severing his Achilles tendon to ensure he’d never return. But when his younger brother is brutally ambushed & killed, he’s forced back into the ruthless underworld, determined to make his enemies pay. Feared like a monster & revered like a God, Gi-jun dominates every fight, defying reality with his sheer resilience—even with a limp, bullets barely slow him down.
Amidst the blood-soaked battles, the drama delves into legacy & guilt laced in the tense rivalry between veteran gang leaders Koo Bong-san & Lee Ju-un. Their fragile truce is a ticking time bomb as they fight to shield their sons from the brutal world they helped create, & Gi-Jun's wrath.
➥ Positives:
• All performances shine, but the ML steals the show. He speaks little, yet his presence is commanding—his grief and rage simmer beneath every expression, making each action scene, pack a punch, literally.
• Sharp direction, gripping fight sequences, and a moody noir aesthetic heighten the tension, while the pulsating BGM pulls you in, making this an irresistible binge-watch.
➥ Slight Drawbacks:
• The central antagonist feels predictable, lacking the gripping menace needed to be truly memorable. A more unpredictable, unhinged descent could have made them unforgettable (this is because I kept comparing them to Lee Jun Young & Im Siwan's villains at the back of my mind. It paled only in comparison, not otherwise)
• Jo Han-chul, known for his commanding presence, is disappointingly underutilized—his role feels more like a fleeting cameo than the mentioned main role, leaving you wanting much more from an actor of his caliber.
➥ Overall Recommendation: BINGE!
Ultimately, Mercy for None is a revenge drama that stays true to its title—there’s no mercy, no clean exits, only blood-soaked retribution. If you love action-packed revenge thrillers with a noir setting and a gangster’s world drenched in brutality, this one is for you.
