Very cute and easy to watch
I randomly came across this movie and decided to just go ahead and watch it. I was pleasantly surprised, this movie was actually pretty good!! The acting could have been a little better, but I wasn't expecting much anyway for a high school movie. The movie keeps you thinking the whole time, it almost felt like a puzzle because they give you little clues about how the movie ends throughout the whole thing! Keep your eyes peeled so you don't miss them!!ALSO there is a clip at the end of the credits so wait till the very end to see it!!!
Overall it's a good movie to watch on the weekend when you're chilling at home and want something light and airy to watch like I did!!

Sweet and fluffy romance
Well, it is school romance. So expect the good romance! The chemistry between the two leads are so good. And I wish they would have second collaboration as couple in the future.Now, back to the movie. The storyline and the plot are really simple, and it's nothing you haven't seen before. But a good directing, storytelling, acting, chemistry can make it beautiful on their own. And this one is it. 2 hours, and the storyline are well-packed and nicely done. And I love the friendships between the three girls <3

God this bitch pissed the fuck off me
this troupe of japanese female being the people pleaser who has no tongue pisses the fuck out of me, it's frustrating. oh my god.and the misunderstanding troupe can also fuck itself, i hate nothing more than lack of communication
it had good potential, the actors are very beautiful, only sad thing is this sad excuse of story.
if the story didn't had her lying and him lying, this would be a straight 10. I'm sorry but that's a huge turn off.

So cutee
This movie is so cute, the chemisty is so cute too. The jealousy scene is so on point too. Gosh, it really gives me a lot of butterflies. The way I also feel their emotion eventho the ml and the fl doesn't speak any words is so great.It's really recommended for you who needs refreshing by watching cute things and also encouraging. The second ml is also cute too. He's not someone who is looked too obsessed by his ex but also he looks like he really loves her tho. Pity for him but issokay cause I'm here waiting for you, Mizuki Lol

Jan. 21 ,2024Our Secret Diary is an amazing movie filled with fluff and sweet moments. It might be considered a typical highschool romance movie but this movie is just done well. The execution, the movement of the plot, the pacing, the change of the perspective from the female lead to the male lead. The way the misunderstanding were dragged a bit but it was just amazing when it all came to the conclusion.
This movie has made me put more appreciation and love for Asian movies. As such, this year after finishing Monster, and now this, Our Secret Diary, I feel like I am on a roll with Jmovies.
I have nothing but praise to the directors, the casts, and the other staffs. I did wish we got more scenes after they became official but you know what I will think that the post-credit scene has given the justice that it needs to deliver.
Our Secret Diary has definitely jumped spot as one of my favourite Asian movies of all time. I can assure you that.

I don't write reviews very often, but I feel like this movie deserves one. Yes it is a normal romance, very predictable from beginning to end, HOWEVER, I don't think I have seen anything like this before.
Somehow it is an original story, something that we don't often see in romance doramas.
I feel like the movie transmits the character's feelings and growth in a very natural way. Nothing feels forced, nothing feels rushed.
If someone is looking for a movie that will give you butterflies, I hope that this review can help to give it a try.
PD: I gave it a 7 on the rewatch value because it overwhelmed me with feelings, I will not rewatch it any time soon, but probably in the future on a day when I am emotionally underwhelmed, I will come for this again. This is how strong it is.

Very sweet movie
I really enjoyed watching this movie. It's sweet and I love the way she has to portray her heart written, because she is to shy to share it verbally. Unexpected Treat
What an unexpected treat. This is by far one of the best romances set in high school. The premise is simple enough. Nozomi receives a love letter from Setoyama that is meant for someone else, unbeknownst to Setoyama. Though she initially attempts to clarify, they soon turn into pen pals and the heroine finds herself becoming increasingly ridden with guilt while falling for Setoyama.Mistaken identity tropes can leave viewers feeling uncomfortable if protracted, especially if left befuddled over when characters' true feelings begin with whom, leading to more dissatisfaction with the outcome. It's safe to say that none of that occurred for me as a viewer here. It was almost a two hour long movie but I really didn't want it to end. The film strikes a nice balance of showing youthful charm without seeming unrealistic. For instance, Nozomi is somewhat shy and introverted like a typical teenage girl, but she's also thoughtful and kind and shows a level of maturity that makes her a very likeable heroine. And I'm happy to report that none of the characters does anything that would send viewers reeling in secondhand embarrassment.
With a pumping soundtrack that also plays a narrative part, it's a film that is an instant pick me up and completely caught me off guard with how endearing the leads are together. Though I had a sense of what the twist may be, it is in no way a detriment to the story. On the contrary, I love that the film gives us subtle hints about the male lead's true feelings and that adds to the charm. Their study session in his room had me giggling like a school girl. It was my first time watching Takahashi Fumiya and he is so charming with the brightest smile that can light up any room.
For such a predicament the heroine finds herself in that is seemingly difficult to resolve, the resolution is reasonable and concludes in a heart warming way. This is truly delightful and for a movie I randomly picked up, I never thought I would love it so much to be compelled to write a review. So freakin' CUTE.

Will definitely cure your classic Asian high school romance drought
Love love love! It has the classic Japanese/Asian high school romance vibe without being cliche and overly predictable. For a romance film released in 2023, it is a surprisingly refreshing high school romance. I enjoyed every single moment throughout the film. It is such an adorable film! I can't express enough how much it really exudes the classic Asian high school romance film in the best way possible. In a time where this genre is very hard to nail without being predictable and boring due to the many classic predecessors, this film is fresh and exciting while maintaining the classic Asian high school romance feel. My First Japanese Movie This Year ✨
This is the first Japanese film I watched this year and I really liked it. An interesting storyline combined with a school setting and charming color gradations show aspects of youth and romance in easy times. For me who didn't feel the feeling of being loved or being loved in my youth and adolescence let me know (so this is what love is like in youth). I give a score of 10/10 to this film. If you want a story about teenagers with a school plot, color gradations, and a Japanese feel that is pleasing to the eye, you must watch this drama.Was this review helpful to you?
Loved it!!
It really feels like I’m watching a movie from the 2010’s again. The plot is good and there aren’t any mind-bangingly frustrating miscommunications (ironically). It was such a fun lovely movie to me that I couldn’t really predict what was going to happen.It’s by no means ground-breaking or anything but it’s not like every piece of media needs to be. I still enjoyed it and there were even instances I rewatched because of context given later on in the movie.
Overall, if you’re just looking for a simply good romance movie I’d definitely give this one a watch.

this is such a good japanese drama!
This is the first time I have watched a Japanese film and I certainly don't think it will be the last. Because I really enjoy watching Korean drama most of the time, so why don't I try watching Japanese movies. And I can say that I really love it! I will definitely watch more Japanese films/series. This film is not only about love, but they also show the love between friends and family.First of all, I'm so touched that the female lead has a misunderstanding between her friends, but in the end they try to resolve it because they say sorry to each other and it shows that they value their friendship. Secondly, the male protagonist struggles between choosing his sport or caring for his grandmother and younger sister. He wants to give up football just to take care of his grandmother. And it shows that the male lead really has love and care for his family. And lastly, the love between the female lead and the male lead was so cutee. Because of their love, they really can't stop themselves from continuing to write in the notebook. Even when they both knew something was wrong, they continued to write in it. I'm more in favor of kpop songs than rock music, but in the Japanese drama I didn't mind the rock music that much.
Their chemistry is so fantastic. I really like it. The female lead is so cute and beautiful and the male lead is so handsome, especially when he smiles. Which spoils their plot. I didn't know you can like someone without knowing them. he fell in love because she wrote a motivation on that desk. But at the end of the story, I understand why the male protagonist loves her, because she gives him the motivation to follow what he wants to do. That was it. I give this Japanese drama a 7 out of 10! :)
