What I think about the series

Overall the series was good the couples have good chemistry and the plot was also good plus I’m a fan of omega verse stuff, but I have one dislike about the series and it was the ending the ending for sheng Shao yu and hua yong was a good ending but the ending for gao tu and shen wen lang wasn’t really that good because the story for them didn’t really end like they barley got any screen time the got like 5 minutes in the whole episode and their ending was really weird because like they hyped us about them having a happy ending and then changing it so shen wen lang was with gao tu for the pregnancy but they didn’t have that the only thing they had was shen wen lang hugging gao tu and it was like after three years of the storyline i wish they maybe talked about their misunderstandings and how they feel but we didn’t get that and they really left us puzzled about what happened with them. They should have a season 2 or special episode with more Shen wen lang and gao tu solvin their problems and stuff like in the novel.

Too many unnecessary scenes

Novels really need to be modified when adapted to live action! This one had way too many unnecessary scenes, drawn-out dialogue, and repetitive moments that should have been edited out. At least they had the sense to skip the pregnancy subplot! It was an okay drama, but nothing special in terms of acting or storyline compared to other bl out there. The princess in distress scenes took way too much space, it was overwhelming. The only new thing in it was the pregnancy subplot. If not, it felt like a Supernatural bl drama with basic plot.

Pretty top RULES

First mpreg by an alpha and an omega respectively. GOAT. I have watched a lot of shows, read a lot of with masculine top and hyper feminine bottoms. Seeing Hua Yong being manipulative, pretty face, and dominant, not to mention, an enigma, is chef kiss to me. The stereotype of big, tall, masculine men is the top needs a break!!! We need more pretty tops because the way you dress, the way you act, how you look doesn’t define your role in bed lol. I’m talking a lot about a bedroom dynamic here because some people on Facebook or Tiktok still reinforce the same stereotypical on the leads which is just tone deaf and dumb. Overall, I love the series.

Very addictive, very good story, but second couple needed more

So I LOVEd the story, it was amasing, very lovely, very addictive.
Loved the story very much, main couple is sooo cute, I saw the Behind the Scenes and they are soooo cute when they are not so serious.
I liked it soo much, that read the novel from the second half.
So I would highly recommend this drama to the BL lovers.

My problem is, that probably due to low budget the second couple had less attention.
I mean, even in the novel, they have less narrative focus, but they still have some. In the series, Gao-Tu and Shen Wenlang meet in the end, and that's it. There was not even a kiss :( what is that? whyyyyy, we didn't deserve a single kiss or what?

Even in the novel, once they make up again, they sneak out and hide from their child while kissing. We could have at least that :( I am very very disappointed in it. It was not because of the low budget :(

? “Why I Fell in Love with BL Again”

I’ve read many Omegaverse BL stories, but ABO Desire is my first live-action BL, and it truly impressed me. I had distanced myself from BL for a while because many modern shows felt overly focused on nudity, cuteness, and clichéd storylines.

This drama, however, feels completely different. Both leads have strong, balanced auras, and the romance is exciting and nuanced. The actors did an amazing job portraying their characters especially the chemistry between the main leads.

I also want to sincerely thank the Nong Jian sisters for creating such a wonderful story, casting amazing leads, and standing by them through challenges. Their support and care made the show even more heartfelt. The production, VFX, and OST were all top-notch.

ABO Desire reminded me why I fell in love with BL in the first place balanced, engaging, and full of strong, memorable characters.

Still Thinking About Hua Yong and Sheng Shao You

I can’t get over Hua Yong , he’s so delicate and beautiful, yet masculine at the same time. He’s honestly one of the best Seme I’ve ever seen. After this mind-blowing omegaverse BL, I’m afraid nothing I watch next will ever compare to this masterpiece. I loved both couples so much, and I really wish it had a few more episodes to wrap things up properly. The chemistry between Sheng Shao You and Hua Yong was just so good — I couldn’t look away for even a second! ❤️

Know what to expect

Mr Sheng and Hua Yong delivered as their story was interesting and Hua Yong determination to getting his man is admirable and something he could hhave done at least was to clear the misunderstanding on Gao Tu's side , who left still thinking that Yong was an omega and Shen Wenlang's secretary.

That said I binge watched this after all episodes were aired so I knew before hand that we were not going to get any proper closure for our second couple, so I was not dissapointed.
Now for people blaming Shen Wenlang only, they are being biased because all the words that he saud to Gao Tu, he said them without knowing that he was an omega and Wenlang had a right to be angry because he was lied to for 10 yearss!!!! Imagine ten whole years and then finding out your friend is not who you thought he was. Now i'm not saying that Wenlang was in the right neither was Gao Tu, so that hug was all about all those unspoken words left hanging in the air and they all delivered.

I would recommend watching this 100% it will be worth your while.

Smart. Well Acted. Unusual

Desire is definitely my most favorite at the moment. This series has gripped me from the first episode, even though I found it somewhat awkward. E2 was perfection in my eyes, and from then on, my love has only grown.

The theme of obsession has always fascinated me, and Desire lives and breathes it. I'm delighted by the intricate web Hua Yong has spanned; the way he pretended to be so fragile and vulnerable to get Shaoyou to finally notice him, how he used a whole insane arsenal of the wildest manipulation tactics to get him attached… and, well, it sure worked. I was skeptical at first because how can a relationship blossom when it's based on such a complete lie? Hua Youg is pretending to be a completely different person for a big chunk of the series, so I kept wondering how Shaoyou can realistically love him still when the truth is revealed.

When the reveal did happen, I found it, and all further progression, absolutely flawless, though. And nothing delighted me more than the new, honest dynamic between these two. Shaoyou really is starved for love, and Hua Yong has tons of it to give - but only to him and no one else. They are both messed up, and I love how genuine and unhinged they are at present, how they are so utterly dependent on one another. I really don't want this series to end. Also, I'm completely in love with OSTs, they are addictive.

The actors did a phenomenal job; the psychological game is the most brilliant thing I've ever seen, with every little part meticulously thought out, from the nervous twitch of Hua's hands to his epic chess game in terms of business deals.

The second couple is also fascinating. They didn't get a proper ending; the last episode was very rushed, unfortunately, but I still loved them, and I'm glad they have every chance to be happy together.

I already re-watched Desire several times, and I will keep doing it, just enjoying every second of this universe. Also, the novel is quite good, too, so I definitely recommend reading it.

A Pleasant Surprise from China!

I honestly didn’t expect much at first, considering China’s strict stance against LGBT content, but ABO Desire turned out to be a pleasant surprise. When I first watched the trailer, I was confused about who’s who — but once I started Episode 1, all the confusion disappeared. The story was clear and easy to follow, even for someone like me who’s new to the omegaverse genre.

The actors are incredibly handsome, and each character has a distinct personality that makes them stand out. Even the smallest expressions and gestures were pleasing to watch. I also like watching stories involving superpowers and action, so it’s really down my alley. I’ve always been into superhero and fantasy genres, so the concept of pheromone-based powers was something I’d never seen before, and I found it really creative.

I do have to say that the nonconsensual scenes and deception made me feel uncomfortable — those parts honestly made me cringe. And though the characters kept mentioning being “in rut” or “in heat,” when the intimate scenes finally happened, they didn’t feel very passionate. Honestly, I wanted to see a bit more skin, but they stayed fully dressed during those moments. Still, I’ve accepted that this isn’t that kind of drama, especially considering it came from China, where such themes are usually restricted. Overall, I enjoyed it very much!

I appload everyone involved for pulling this off

Is this show perfect? No. Is this one of the best BLs out there? Also, no. But despite all this, I applaud to everyone involved, especially lead actors for taking the risk to get this project done. And trust me when I say it's risky, I mean. I'm from the country with the same views on queer content as China. So, I'm not going to b**ch on here why the drama lacked. I'm an older viewer and writer of queer content and even the west hasn't dared to adapt decent queer literature for TV, let alone an omegaverse source material. And we don't lack the material. Trust me. Tons of books to choose from to adapt.

So, I simply will say this, just watch it, enjoy the chemistry between actors and the magic and stop looking for things to neatpick. I don't know if there rumours are true and we'll see more projects from the sisters or the CPs, but I do hope so.

I've never been this happy to watch a queer C-drama sinceThe Untamed. And even then, they really did us dirty with the adaptation by turning it into something it was not.

P.S. I will probably rewatch this in the future. And I do not rewatch the shows or re-read the books with rare exceptions.

Girl, don't cringe, just watch

As a girl who basically grew up on M/M novels, majority of them being Omegaverse, I can honestly say that this series exceeded my expectations. At first, I could barely get through five minutes without pausing and screaming into my pillow, coz as everyone knows, Omegaverse stories tend to be very focused on ... shall we say intimacy? They make common the things that other romance stories would only touch on shyly. Sexual attraction, dominance and submission, mating, all of that is just a common everyday fact in Omegaverse stories. So to see it actually being acted out... You can understand why I kept screaming every five seconds, especially when words like 'heat' and 'pheromones' kept popping up. But still, the acting was top notch and the story was so well crafted that I got drawn in almost instantly. My loudest thought while watching it was 'Amazing acting, classy wardrobes, high end vehicles equals a huge budget... for a BL? The creator must own a gold mine or something'. It's just that good. You don't have to worry about suddenly being taken out of a scene due to awkward acting (and the scenes being acted out really, really, really had the potential to be very very awkward), the chemistry between the main characters was chef's kiss, both spicy and sweet,

(SPOILER!!!!!)

and our favourite psychopath was sufficiently freaking crazy while also being crazy in love. The only reason the story is rated 9.0 is coz I did not particularly like how the second couple ended; things didn't really get resolved by the time ep 16 ended. I also don't like how they rushed the ending with our main cp, but I get that their story did have a proper resolution. Although I kind of question how fast Sheng Shao You accepted being the bottom in that relationship LOL.

Final thoughts, read my title. Just freaking watch it. You won't regret it.
